Nice work but why didn't the homeowner go with something like a zero clearance wood burning stove? Much more efficient than the standard prefab fireplaces. Either way, nice install. Is it easier to go through the back of the chase or was that done because the new unit was the same dimensions as the old and you didn't need to do any work on the inside?
This was a really good video and covered everything I needed to see. I have a vinyl covered wood chase so definitely would be easier than the brick, but I can see it is not a one-man job. Nice work overall. I would have selected a stainless chase cover rather than a painted one - for rust proofing. Wish there was more info on the insulating part. I didn't see any insulation placed around the new unit and that was my primary reason for replacing what I have now.
Guys, great video and you really showed us a professional job. I'm hoping to do something similar except I'd try to find a more efficient model. I Also my current prefab is in the middle of the house so I think coming in from behind is a non option. Wish you guys where around here in Elgin, TX... I'd have you come give me a quote :)
Awesome video! Wish I had a local company like you guys.
Damn, what a hassle. :)
These guys look like knowledgeable and careful professionals. I would hire them without hesitation.
Thanks for the comment! After 36 years, we're constantly sharing the love of knowledge!
