Hmm put your workbenchs around one of the boss chests store your crafting supplies in that chest when you craft you will pull out of the chest no need to have any materials on you same goes for the cooking stations.
I would advise against placing fungal soil in your cattle pen, because it'll also spawn enemies. I guess technically they won't attack the cattle, but fighting them can be messy, especially if it spawns the big mushroom enemies that destroy walls they run into.
for the food buffs, pewpaya + larva meat is probably the best for mid-late game food for ranged builds. it gives both ranged physical damage and crit rate. for melee builds, just change the pewpaya to pinegrapple.

O truuuuuu i forgot about the big guy. Havent seen him yet tho maybe my farms too small to spawn those.

slime pet buffs only applies buffs to itself unfortunately

I was excited for movement speed but realized it only affects pets, making it the worst option. Also boss damage is only for pet.
