Can you explain the benefit of the active 8 over the s8? I mean a $5 case makes an S8 an S8 active. Right now the only real benifit is band 71 but since its years before most of us will see band 71 not sure that matters.
Michael Mantion no that would not make the phone an active. For one the screen is flat on the active with no curved display so it's less likely to break. Plus the battery life is huge in the active. 2 days easy. If you are tired of that cheap glass on front and back then this is the phone for you
Dakota Hersh the note is nice, but it's cheaply built made to break. The active phone is a man's phone. You can't go wrong. Check out the Flossy Carter review. S8 active is 🔥, that why they are bringing it to other carriers for the first time
4:47 One way that can be mitigated is with a case, depending on what you have. On my S8 Active, the AT&T store installed a Casemate Toughstand where the cutouts for the fingerprint scanner, camera, and heartrate monitor are such that there's a little ridge separating the fingerprint scanner from the camera.
That's a great point! I always get cases so it does make it easier to know where your fingers go! I am a mechanic so my finger awareness is higher perhaps, but having not owned the phones, it does make me think about this one less-loved feature vs. the s9.
When you asked me to give it a thumbs up, I wished I could click heart. This was a premium video! As a video maker who can't even scratch the surface of your production value, bravo! I am focused on a different type of content..small excuse for lower production value, lol.
You should make a point of the Actives flat screen. Used the S7 Edge for a year, and I'm never, ever, going to buy another edge/curved screen. Flat screen + big battery makes this a easy win for the Active.
*defense* with the S7 Edge the inside of my hand (palm) would come in contact with the edge while using it normally. And sometimes that would override whatever I was trying to press/swipe with ny thumb. Basically I could be trying to scroll down on a website but nothing would happen as my palm touched the edge. Annoying as hell. That being said, the edge is smaller on the Note 8 (haven't tried the S8/+) and the problem is almost gone. Not completely though, it still happens at times but much less frequently.
HDR is more about making still photos look "past the shadows" with a few moments after your click to process and improve the picture. As far as I know, if anyone can do that in video, that'd be amazing!
Tbh Samsung didn't made the s8 series well or the note 8 cause it can crack easily and get destroy so easily in the corners and be wasted .. it's nice design but delicate screen , s8 active the best well made everyone should choose even til this day
One thing I don't like about cases is my active life gets a lot of dirt behind them and since you don't see it...the dirt really scratches it all up. Develop a habit of cleaning underneath or skip the case? Hmmm....
My opinion the S8 active is a gimmick you have to still get a case for it and a screen protector for it and that case I might as well buy the Note 8 it's a better phone bigger screen has edge-to-edge so why would anyone want the actors it's gimmicky it just looks like it's better but it's really not it's just a bigger bulky or thing you drop it it will break just as easily
I bought the s8 active over the note 8, and I must admit this phones is amazing in every way. I would recommend the active to anyone
Amp Martin Glad to hear you're happy with your purchase.

I'm in the same boat. Trying to figure out if I want the note 8 or the s8 active

Vegard I also had the S7 Edge and absolutely hated the curved screen.
Don't know why they stop making a flat version for the Galaxy lines. Some people don't like them.
Hm.. Can you guys please say why you prefer the flat over the curved ones, please?

Vegard so i guess i should go with the s8 active instead of the s8. (Deciding which i will buy)
S8 Active is sold at AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint. It's no longer an Exclusive
Zachary Odenweller You're sure about that?
Adam Kurowski sprint store in Allentown pa. Had the active last week,
Yes active was no longer just for AT&T which should of been that way in the first place.
What r u talking about
@@lamar3195 the active was always an at&t exclusive but the s8 active is now available at every carrier except for Verizon in case you didn't know.
Why is there no HDR support for youtube on the S8 Active?

s8 active is on T-Mobile now!
How does the screen on the active feel? Is it smooth like the s8?
the note has 2 more gigs of ram right?
ryan B 6 gigs yeah
There are versions of s8 which has 6gb RAM and 8gb RAM as well
does the active supports two sim cards plus the memory card at the same time]?
Pops Mifune no just one SIM card and the SD memory card.
very informative comparison, thank you!
great video helped me choose the active 8 💯
Apparently rest in peace active line which I am keeping S8 active long as possible.

I'm watching this on my s8 active 😎
Tbh Samsung didn't made the s8 series well or the note 8 cause it can crack easily and get destroy so easily in the corners and be wasted .. it's nice design but delicate screen , s8 active the best well made everyone should choose even til this day
The active is so durable. My friend was at my house and threw it off my balcony that is 20 feet of the ground, not even a scratch. I was amazed
Grant Tyndall Haha, are you sure a friend would throw your phone off a balcony? Glad to hear your phone is fine.
I don't know why he did, we were just talking about phones. So he threw it in the grass off our balcony.
Grant Tyndall, Grass you said? I thought you to mention the concrete ground.
@@granttyndall9069 Phew! Grateful it was glass!
@@granttyndall9069 why would u do that

I have the gold samsung galaxy s8 active and it is soooo protective with out a case I really recommend it
Btw I have a case now tho
One thing I don't like about cases is my active life gets a lot of dirt behind them and since you don't see it...the dirt really scratches it all up. Develop a habit of cleaning underneath or skip the case? Hmmm....

I have the samsung galaxy s8 active
Hej
the S8 active seems like a fail. I really wanted the physical buttons and active button. Sigh..
