Well, I was just 7 years old so I wasn't able to understand in back then so im ok the affected one was my sister who ended up in a psychiatric hospital (as a doctor lol)
After years coming back here for some damn good music. Hope to see unique and high quality projects like Texhnolyze in the anime industry someday again
Texhnolyze scares tf outta me, but everyone should watch it at least once. I finished it the summer before my freshman year of high school in 2017. Ever since completing it and seeing the ending, I’ve been terrified to watch it again because of how the last few episodes affected me. I was pretty depressed at the time, and that ending just felt so nihilistic. I’d love to experience this show again now that I’m older, but I’m conflicted about it. Like what if that dread hits me again after the final episode? Will it be worth it? Is there a point? This show made me think and feel shit I’d rather not, but I think that’s why it’s so powerful.
@Reiji because it has a lot of depth and the story and characters resonated with me (it also perfectly explores nihilism and related themes) the art direction is really unique too (and fits the story) and as i said in my original comment, the OST is great
@@nvm_everland2908it’s about a street fighter who got his arm and leg chopped off by some gang and he was given mechanical prosthetics from a nice doctor who did experimentation on him

Haven't seen the anime, but I bought the soundtrack 15 years ago just because some anime magazine said it was good. Man, listening to this takes me back... love it!!!!
You should see the anime too. I mean yes, get ready for some heartbreak, like most good anime, it has some, but it's wild trip worthy of its soundtrack bringing it to life.
GodDAMN, this anime is good. Finally saw it for the first time after loving Lain, having been a bit turned off by all the talk about it being super dark, etc. It is, but it's not tripping over itself to be angsty and the subject matter kinda warrants being treated with such weight. If you're on the fence about whether you can handle it or want to see it, you're probably fine
29:49 I wish it had the version with just the trumpets. There's a version that plays in episode 3, when Ichise is asking where his mother's cells are from Doc, and there's a certain fluctuation of the trumpet in the tune that is so melancholic, I didnt know the trumpet could be such a mellow instrument.
Came here looking exactly for that so now I'm sad. But yes, the trumpet can be one of the most melancholic sonding instruments, especially when played alone.
Many people said that the show seemed to have a slow pace, but it did not seem that way to me. It had something going on every episode, from battles to dialogue, worldbuilding etc. I was definitely getting more and more eager to watch what the finale would be, but I never felt this difficulty people always speak of. Kinda the same as Ergo Proxy, the first time I watched it as a teen I had a very hard time finishing it, let alone challenging it's themes. I did my third rewatch of Ergo Proxy recently too, dreading the period of staleness that haunted me the second time (albeit not as bad as the first) only for the plot to enter the finale with me never having felt bored once. I figured it was because I was understanding it better and was able to appreciate the more subtle tones. So, having finished it today, I feel pretty surprised that people struggled with texhnolyze, even with all the action it had plus the plot development.
44:17 17.Toi inazuma (or "a far away lightning" or "distant lightning") - unfortunately, it's not ORIGINAL ARRANGEMENT of a melody from the fifth episode "Texhnolyze" (Hajime Mizoguchi composed). When Ichise crawling in the sewerage... in anime - other arrangement (maybe REMIX)...and it can't be found anywhere
When I think about it, I SHOULD dislike this show on account of it's vagueness and somewhat slow pacing, since I usually hate shows like that... but when I watched this I couldn't help but love it. Things I normally don't like actually worked in its favor somehow. Since characters didn't talk a lot, the music and sound design filled in the gaps, so it helped me notice how amazing the music in this show was. It went well with all the nihilistic feelings and visuals for this show. I might have to rewatch it again sometime soon.
Got to be one of the most under appreciated Anime of all time. Now Cyberpunk 2077 is out I can't help but think how cool it would be to start the Organo in night city.
@@isabellamorris7902 If anything, Texhnolyze is the one that's most overlooked of the three, and that's definitely due to its harsh and unforgiving nature.
@@isabellamorris7902 Aye. The reason for that is that while all 3 of those have loyal fans, Texhnolyze has those that are the most devoted and that swear by the show, therefore making ti appear as if more people are aware of it. Not the greatest source, but one that serves well enough here - if you take a look at the numbers on MAL, Haibane Renmei has around 80k people that scored the show, while Texhnolyze has half of those numbers. And like I said in my initial comment, it's because Texhnolyze is the most niche out of the three and the most difficult to grasp and get into, particularly for more casually oriented viewers that the show is definitely NOT made for. While Lain confused many, it had a lot of exposition that guided the viewer and made it more than understandable should one pay attention. Texhnolyze is a completely different story in that regard. Haibane Renmei has the widest appeal of the three and gets talked about more than enough from what I've seen, just not in the places you inhabit, and that's precisely because it's more welcoming and a show that due to its themes resonates with a lot more people. Lain became the most popular because of its meme appeal and the "I don't get it" people, which is why it has almost triple the numbers Haibane Renmei has.
Animes 1980-2010>>>>>> actually
I love Texhnolyze since I first saw it in 2003. I remember translating it into russian for my friends. Jesus how the time flies.
