I wish you a great christmas time. Be proud of your work and never let anyone tell you otherwise.

I first discovered this OST right after my daughter was born in 2018. I would wake up late with my wife and hang out with her while she fed our little girl. I'd listen to this music and think about how nervous I was to be a good dad. But I also felt hopeful and excited. She's 4 years old now, and I still put this on for her. She likes to dance to the music, and it makes me smile.
Whoever made this OST should be absolutely proud of themselves. It's hands-down the best OST of 2015, if not the last 5 years. I haven't enjoyed a soundtrack this immensely since Frozen Synapse.

I feel that man, I was sad to see it end. Though there is a good ending if you missed out on it, and the game is just as good the second time as it is the first. That's how you know it's a keeper.

But yeah, just thank you for putting out this music, it changed my life and the way i perceive music, really, thank you.
15:49 I was on a road trip and our car caught fire, so we had to stop at a car dealership a hundred miles from home to get a drive home. It took hours between us getting there and getting out, and in that time, we spent a lot just sitting in our broken car. In there, I had this in my recommendations and decided to check it out. When I heard this song, I knew I had to try the game, and I've been a big appreciator of it ever since. This was almost a year ago. Va-11 hall-a has been a great experience and I thank this upload for introducing me to it. Also song bops.

The amount of soundtracks that have done this for me I can only count in one hand. You Sir, are truly one of the best composers I've ever encountered. I will definitely keep an out for any of your future works :)
Music is mostly appreciated in accompanying, or being accompanied by another art like in a Music video and here this might be the other way round and appreciated as a game accompanying music. The first round was already content of this, taking off, whereas the second one arrived at a by-gone VGM, even Anime era, or rather kind of musical craft, in which it might take its place surrounded by variously precious titels, but might as well keep us company in the present, reanimate and resume to unearth the beauty hinted there. Played it a couple years ago and I keep coming back to this OST. There's something so very nostalgic about the soundtrack and the game that made me play more than a hundred hours of what could, coding wise, be just an early Flash game on some random game website in the early 2000s. But it isn't, the writing is charming, the characters are fun and the soundtrack sets it apart. Being able to choose you own tracks in the beginning of every night? That's *chef's kiss* material right there.
Often there are great games with great music and you love the music even after playing the game. Every so often, there's music that's so good, that if you don't own the game, it makes you buy it. This is the case for VA-11 HALL-A
Damn, I love that you mention PSO. *sigh* so many good memories and endless hours. I'd hangout in the lobby and just chat with friends while we listened to the music.

This has been the best pallet cleansing game I’ve played. Listening to this playlist before I bought the game sealed the deal for me. Any game with a banging soundtrack like this has got to be good.
I only recently heard about this game, and I'm listening to the OST for the first time... ... and yet, it feels nostalgic. As if I'd heard each and every track before, maybe in a past life. It feels like returning home to visit your family after you moved to another city, and you'd forgotten the warmth of your special place, but it was always there, waiting for you. The music encapsulates this perfectly, it's just... I love it!
Love it all as usual! Synthestitch is one of my favorites, just to name one. Love the leitmotif callbacks to the first game's OST, as well. (Especially since I practically ground that record into dust listening to it so much...) It's been an absolute pleasure seeing you get more and more projects as time goes on, and improving upon your skills each time. I hope you're even a fraction as proud of yourself as we are of you. Keep up the excellent work!
Hello...I'm a simple nobody on the internet, but I just wanted to say that your music is bloody amazing! Really, it's everything I need to study, concentrate, focus on reading or simply to relax. Thank you so much for these wonderful compositions! :)
WOW! I mean...WOOOOW! I was mesmerized by the trailer's music, so I had to look for the OST. DEFINETELY GONNA BUY THIS. It OOZES 80's style, classic 16-bit and coin-op games, it oozes classic 80's anime and it's absolutely great on its own. Love it. 10/10, perfect. Shades of Yuzo Koshiro and beyond that. I always thought of videogames, just like movies, as a complex form of art that's actually made by several art pieces that come together to form a collective work that benefits from the work of all artists partecipating to it, and music is by no means a small part. There were obviously very talented artists working on this game and you are clearly incredibly gifted. Kudos to you, thanks for your beautiful, soul-enriching work of art.
DrunkenArsenal : Uhm...dude, it's in the notes of this very video... -_- You can buy it on bandcamp: garoad.bandcamp.com/album/va-11-hall-a-second-round
When I was working at a summer job, I would listen to this soundtrack (more so this whole video) while I worked. Well not really worked, more so walked to work. I wokred a over night job at a garden center here in canada during the summer. Each night I would wake up close to 2-4 am (depending on the starting shift). After getting up and going outside in the dead of night to walk to work, it would take close to a hour to get work some times, depending on the weather. But every time I walked to work, And listen to the songs from this track, it would help me pass the time. It also reminded me that while I wished for a better life, or a better job, at the end of the day (or night) I was working at least, that I was alive. I was alive, I was able to look up to the night sky and see the stars, I was alive and I can feel the wind on me, and I was alive and could eat some good food, and have some good times. My message is that while you may not be in the best spot in life, and might not be working the best job, your alive, and sometimes, that's all you need. because being alive means you can experance the simple things in life as you walk around your towns, at any time of day.
I recommend it. Streaming-chan and Dorothy are pretty problematic, but the writing, characters and music otherwise are fantastic. Play it at night time with the lights off and just take it all in. It was wonderful
Definitely need to replay this game. Your OST first attracted me to it years ago. This is a genuine soundscape. You can just feel the setting of the game in each song. But they're all open-ended enough that you can grab w/e from the jukebox and it just works for whatever is being said, by whomever. Anyone composing vg-osts should listen to this at least once.
I think this is one of my most replayed soundtracks ever. It has gotten me through so many years of the daily job grind. Whenever I'm feeling down, I just put the vinyl for this on and the moment I hear the opening song, I feel at ease. Thank you for giving me this Michael. Your music is incredible.
It's genius that in the game you get to choose which song plays in queue on the jukebox, because then every song means something different to each person. For example, I played snowfall a lot so it's like my "at home bartending" theme. It's magical!
oh the sweet nostalgic sound of those first piano notes! I listen to this album all the time. You were actually my number 1 artist of 2023 on spotify haha. Thanks for the great music, take care! :)
I just got the game on eShop sale and completed it in 3 days. I have to say, this game is something else. The atmosphere, vibes and the surprisingly deep characters made this experience amazing. I'm glad I played this game.
Michael kelly. I hate you, and love you. Im 3 hours into my 19th year of life, and im already bawling my eyes out. I dont know how to describe it, but every song, just makes me feel welcome.
I just finished playing this last night for the first time. I can easily say it is the one game I think of off the top of head that everything comes together nicely. The soundtrack, next to be really catchy, just fits so well with everything. And as I listen to it I can only think about the bar and people I met there. This game got me thinking about so many things and emotional at times and this soundtrack just brings it out again. Nothing but love for this game and its soundtrack. It's less a game and more an experience and we need more like it.
For some reason this music all feels so nostalgic despite the fact I played through it only a couple of months ago. I absolutely love this game and soundtrack.
This has to be my favorite game soundtrack, and easily one of my favorite games. Very well worth my money and time and has me wanting more. Was extremely excited to hear about N1RVANA.
Most often while I listen to soundtracks I get bored quickly and turn off after 15 minutes. This one however enchanted me so much I had a strong urge to listen to it carefully from the beginning to the end and it really boosted me to face my daily tasks. Thank you for 2 hours of pure power.
It seems that the popular Asian Mobile Game “Girl’s Frontline” made a special event based off this game. I found this because it mentioned the artist in the mission selection page. I expect to see some players show up here during this event.
GFL player here. Bought Va-11 Hall-a to see what it was all about, stayed up until 8am finishing it and work that day sucked. 10/10 would be sleep deprived to play this for the first time again.
Played this game when I worked in Wetherspoons. Having this soundtrack in my head, as well as the game in general, really helped "inspire" me to be a decent bartender XD
I actually listened to the soundtrack before i played the game. I loved the hell out of this soundtrack back and forth. One of the top listeners for this album last year. Now that ive played the game its gotten even better. Buying the soundtrack digitally asap. Go play this game, you wont regret it
This sounds like Shoji Meguro & Kenji Kawai had a cyberpunk love child who has excellent taste in instruments, synths, drinks & waifus & I love it. Always nice to play the game & come back to listen again..and again
I just played this game recently because i got myself the Xbox Gamepass, and holy cow i did not expect to get to into it! Of course, if i'm here it means i loved the soundtrack and wanted to listen to it again because is just so chill and nice it makes me feel that everything will get better. Thanks Michael, you did a great job! :D
Man you are a goddamn genius and a treasure. I don't think you know the extent of how positively you influence people's lives with music like this. After work, after a difficult day, I love nothing more than sitting near my window, with a cup of hot chocolate and just play a game or read a book with this OST in the background. Your music is part of what makes my life beautiful. Thanks dude.
This soundtrack is ridiculously good. it somehow sounds nostalgic and it is also really relaxing. I don't listen to electronic music at all but this one I plan to listen over and over again.
listening to this gives me a very strange feeling deep down in my heart I'm kinda sad because I'll never be able to experience playing this beautiful game for the first time again, but at the same time I'm very happy that this exists and we're gonna be getting a sequel thanks devs for making this amazing game and thanks composer for making this amazing soundtrack

Track 23 is just absolutely perfect. When the music hits the 51:10 mark, I get chills. Every. Single. Time.
6:28 My fav. I had it on all the time. One day I filled all jukebox slots with it
Happy achievement.
Tbh there wasn't a single day in-game that wasn't on my jukebox. That song is such a banger
Pretty sure I still fill all my jukebox slots IRL every day with this song.
It was Every Day is Night and Welcome to Valhalla for me. These two were always in my jukebox without fail.
On occasion I find myself coming back to listen to this OST
It's amazing, and dare I say...
A E S T H E T I C
Kudos to you, thanks for your beautiful, soul-enriching work of art.
if you find the ost for purchase please link me. I want to purchase it!
nvm I found it. they have it up for free on their site but I will donate
DrunkenArsenal
: Uhm...dude, it's in the notes of this very video... -_-
You can buy it on bandcamp: garoad.bandcamp.com/album/va-11-hall-a-second-round
I'm surprised someone knows about Yuzo Koshiro, and here I thought only car guys and Maximum Tune players who only knew about the artist
You are thinking about kids nowadays. I was born in 1978 and grew up with 8 and 16 bit classics. XD
30 minutes in and I've been so deep in flow while working that I didn't realise I had this playing. This is great!
The GFL collab got me here, the writing is really good and the music just fits so well... considering buying the OST and Va-11 HALL-A itself now.
If you liked the collab, you'll definitely like the game. It's amazing
I recommend it. Streaming-chan and Dorothy are pretty problematic, but the writing, characters and music otherwise are fantastic. Play it at night time with the lights off and just take it all in. It was wonderful
this game will never stop being amazing
いつまでも聴いていたい。ありがとう……!
here on a random tuesday morning to say thanks for the tunes!
Honestly don’t know what the overall genre this music would be in but I’m in love with it. Need more stuff like this.
Would you be willing to part ways with your soul?
@@Alphadog220 This went in an unexpected direction...
19:04 this one is one of my favorites. It kind of transmit me that feeling of being lost.
Michael kelly. I hate you, and love you. Im 3 hours into my 19th year of life, and im already bawling my eyes out. I dont know how to describe it, but every song, just makes me feel welcome.
I can't understand why ALL SONGS in this are absolute FIRE.
It's less a game and more an experience and we need more like it.
death stranding might be your thing too, that's a wild shot, but if u enjoy it, it will definitely worth ur time
@@leesasuki I thought about it but gave it a pass.
For some reason this music all feels so nostalgic despite the fact I played through it only a couple of months ago. I absolutely love this game and soundtrack.
Rad Shiba my homie
too bad you'll never be rad

Thank you for having it downloadable.
This has to be my favorite game soundtrack, and easily one of my favorite games. Very well worth my money and time and has me wanting more. Was extremely excited to hear about N1RVANA.
More like N - 1R VAN-a bro.
it's a strange feeling to listen to the whole album and think about how many different emotions and memories i have tied to each song.
Cant stop listening to these tracks, Drive me Wild, Youve Got Me, Friendly Conversation, and all the rest are just complete masterpieces
Most often while I listen to soundtracks I get bored quickly and turn off after 15 minutes. This one however enchanted me so much I had a strong urge to listen to it carefully from the beginning to the end and it really boosted me to face my daily tasks. Thank you for 2 hours of pure power.
I smell a lot of 80s Japanese pop and synthwave stuff in this not to mention some Shoji Meguro in there... I really like it to be honest!
I thought it's only me who can sense Shoji Meguro in there.
The shoji meguro is very faint I think.
Michael Kelly is a well-known hardcore fan of the Shin Megami Tensei series, after all.
Sounds like Asuka 120%, Bubblegum Crisis and Patlabor 2.
It reminds me a little of urusei yatsura
This game and its soundtrack were the most pleasant surprise ive ever gotten out of a random steam sale purchase.
It seems that the popular Asian Mobile Game “Girl’s Frontline” made a special event based off this game. I found this because it mentioned the artist in the mission selection page.
I expect to see some players show up here during this event.
i am here
GFL player here. Bought Va-11 Hall-a to see what it was all about, stayed up until 8am finishing it and work that day sucked. 10/10 would be sleep deprived to play this for the first time again.
Here
@@CrazyChillDog Oh no
Also from GFL. And also going to play the original game now that the event is over :3
I'm listening to A Neon Glow Lights the way. I have the biggest stupidest grin on my face, and tears in my eyes. The piano bit is so well done.
Played this game when I worked in Wetherspoons. Having this soundtrack in my head, as well as the game in general, really helped "inspire" me to be a decent bartender XD
this randomly started playing, i didn't know it was from a game, will certainly give it a try.
I actually listened to the soundtrack before i played the game. I loved the hell out of this soundtrack back and forth. One of the top listeners for this album last year. Now that ive played the game its gotten even better. Buying the soundtrack digitally asap. Go play this game, you wont regret it
I'm in a really rough time in my studies right now, and this soundtrack has been invaluable in focusing on my work.
Can I have your soul?
This sounds like Shoji Meguro & Kenji Kawai had a cyberpunk love child who has excellent taste in instruments, synths, drinks & waifus & I love it. Always nice to play the game & come back to listen again..and again
We need a sequel this is too damn good to let it end and the soundtrack is super relaxing
Im really glad I clicked on this at random. This is literally amazing. Going to check this game out for sure now.
Thank you so much for creating such good music. It's a blessing when can feel whole again listening to what you have made!
This album is what got me to buy the game. It’s been two years, but I still listen to this. It’s honestly great.
7 years ago. It's been so long...
since i last have seen my son
Wait until 10 years have passed
Man you are a goddamn genius and a treasure. I don't think you know the extent of how positively you influence people's lives with music like this. After work, after a difficult day, I love nothing more than sitting near my window, with a cup of hot chocolate and just play a game or read a book with this OST in the background. Your music is part of what makes my life beautiful. Thanks dude.
im so fking hpyed for this game, the music and art are so good. i hope to god the story holds up as well, because it looks super interesting
game turned out to be great! good to see my sense of smell for good games hasn't deteriorated (;
nice!
This soundtrack is ridiculously good. it somehow sounds nostalgic and it is also really relaxing. I don't listen to electronic music at all but this one I plan to listen over and over again.
27:53 "You've Got Me"
Aw man, love this song
31:45 Veeery nice...
Wow, where has this been all my life? ♡.♡
listening to this gives me a very strange feeling deep down in my heart
I'm kinda sad because I'll never be able to experience playing this beautiful game for the first time again, but at the same time I'm very happy that this exists and we're gonna be getting a sequel
thanks devs for making this amazing game and thanks composer for making this amazing soundtrack
A beautiful, soul-touching album that creates a solid backbone to the atmosphere of Va-11 Hall-a, a game that captured the heart of thousands.
Holy crap I was jamming to this today and forgot that I once knew this man. Michael Kelly your music is the bomb
something like 7 years since I bought this album, and its still one of the best game soundtracks of the modern era. i fucking love video game music
