Not really. Maruti’s promising a cleaner, more efficient drive with the refreshed petrol version and reduced prices with the diesel. Naturally, there are more features added to the Ciaz’ kitty too. LUCKY JAIN verna is for short people. No matter how many features it offers, unless its comfortable, no point buying that sedan. I felt crippled in Verna but CIAZ has beaten its competitiors in that aspect pretty well. And people may say honda city is better , ofcourse it will be coz the top model costs 3 lakhs more lol. You get what you pay for. Its stupid to compare the models like city and ciaz.

I had shortlisted elite i20 petrol Asta O as my first car. Didnt liked the baleno quality, had test taken test drive of the new Ciaz Alpha petrol MT & i really like the luxurious feel and space. it costs 2.3 lakh more then i20 in my place. At this price one will get Verna SX petrol but legroom is very less. should i stretch my budget & go for Ciaz, or should i stick with i20?
+Joyson Dsouza We would recommend you to stick with Asta (O) that’s because now it gets a total of six airbags, LED DRLs and projector headlamps. There is no substitute for safety and besides safety features, it also gets more goodies that add to the premium quotient of the car.
Go for Ciaz if you just need a comfy, spacious sedan to drive to (or be driven in) to work and back, then the Ciaz makes a stronger case than ever. Yes, Verna rear seats are cramped and doesn't make an ideal choice for family buyers.

Also you mentioned in your video , that you would prefer manual over AT, but manual doesn’t comes with hill control and other safety feature like ebs.
Should I still opt for manual or go for AT

Hi Suvidh, we haven't had the chance to run our mileage test on the Ciaz. That said, you can realistically expect anywhere between 12-14kmpl inside the city, and 17-20kmpl on the highway. A lot of this of course, depends on the driving style and traffic condition.
And yes, we'd pick the manual over the automatic. Hill assist will only prevent the vehicle from rolling back, and not much else. In the manual, this can be achieved by using the handbrake. As far as ESC is concerned, yes, this is a big miss in our books.

a. The Yaris has better safety equipment. It will definitely fare better in side impact situations.
b. Ciaz will have better efficiency thanks to the mild hybrid system.
c. Engine on the Ciaz is more advanced.
d. Reliability wise both should be neck and neck. Don't see any major problems cropping up with either.
2. Both engines are quite easy to drive. Neither of them are particularly fun either. Automatics for both are polished, and shift smoothly. We'd give a slight edge to the Yaris' CVT over the Ciaz' AT, though.
3. Petrol all the way. Your usage will not warrant a diesel car. Better save money and pick the petrol :)
Last when I test drove 1.4L petrol it was a dud, sensing from your review it still seems to be the same. Planning to upgrade from my 1.6L Fiesta petrol which apparently still zooms but won't go for ciaz
Rajesh, there's practically nothing in this segment that's as much fun to drive as your Fiesta 1.6. We'd recommend you hunt for a used Jetta TDi, Laura/Octavia TSi instead. Will serve up the thrills, and will feel like a proper proper upgrade.
If you don't fancy buying pre-owned, you'd have to look towards the Vento TSi or the Vento/Rapid TDi DSG.
What is cruise control

Nothing much changed except the engine.. but a good value for money car i guess.. for the price it is best.. six airbags missing.. otherwise good enough. Sunroof missing too.. but price justified..
Yes its 3 lakh cheaper than its rivals and we get all features and better mileage and maruti brand

Well, the Ciaz is offered with both petrol and diesel engines. The car can be taken for long drives. But, the ground clearance of the car is not suitable for rough roads. The chassis may touch while off-roading.

Verna is far better ......it's one time investment at least you will not change vehicle for at least 5 years ..they have the additional N Number of features in it.

Sir, for that kind of usage, we'd recommend a diesel. The Delta model is the most value for money variant in the Ciaz range.
Hi guys my dad is confused to book between Ciaz alpha auto and ford EcoSport s petrol . He is really confused between the two . I know they are totally different categories but I need your expert advice on what is good since you guys have driven both. he will be self driving the car , needs a peppy engine which is reliable and doesn't feels strained ,good air conditioning in the cabin. Does ford EcoSport with ecoboost will give that releaxed driving when needed and the punch when it is required . Pls suggest what would be your overall pick from your side .
Ford's Safety is far better compared to Maruti.
This is a tough choice as you said both belong the different categories.
Buy Ecosport Manual if you want more punch.
I would suggest you and your dad take a test drive of both cars, not just in the city but highway so you can better decide what suits your needs.
I would personally choose Honda City because no one can bear iVTEC when it comes to performance.

Yes, that's because it's going to be the new norm from July 2019. Every new car will start beeping post 120kmph. It just serves as a gentle reminder to slow down. :)

I hate that "feature" so much. There should be an option to turn it off or atleast the speed limit should be increased to 100 and 140
CarDekho ...maybe...but it is going to become quite irritating on highways where you can cross 120 a lot of times....and music might not be able to mask all of it...
