      Did you use any external pedals while making this video. Or are all the sounds coming direct from the peavy and the guitars. Great video

    Awesome! I play guitar, bass and acoustic and getting back into it but didnt want to have to buy multiple amps for the house. I ordered a Bass VI and was going back and forth on whether to get a guitar amp or a bass amp. This is a dream amp and solves that problem! I had an old red striped Peavey Bandit from the 90s? Fantastic amp, Peavey is underrated IMO. Will have to get one of these. thanks!

    This amp is the solution for budget metal players. The large high gain amp models are fierce.

    Just got mine....finally! Took 7 months from when I ordered. I'm a Marshall guy but looking for some versatility. I've had other Peavey amps in the past, Classic 50 and an old TransTube. This amp sounds really good and the amp models are very good!!! I appreciate your video for helping the process sink in for navigating the various features. Keep on rockin'.......🤘😎🤘

    I’ve had several vypyr amps of each model. They all had a screaming high frequency range that pretty much I had to dial back to almost zero highs. Wondering if the x2 model has been corrected to not have that characteristic. I’d certainly be interested in getting an x2

      Modeling based on the 2 videos ive seen seem 100% same as original models.
      Only model worth it is a peavy windsor or peavy hybrid 40wtt vypr it offers stunning clean tones does still suffer the high frequency issues. But if you take the time to learn it and use a noise gate pedal in front of it fixes the issue.
      I got the best clean tone i ever had last minute using the peavy vypr tube that was perfect fit to the twang with buttery finnish i needed for a ballad hard rock song i did called "Angel".

    I have a vypyr x2, only a week old as of July 10, 2022. Worked great. Bought a new sanpera 2 switcher. Plugged it in and the amp has no sound. Unplugged the sanpera and the amp still has no sound. The amp lights up, the pedal lights up, no sound. I did a factory reset after I unplugged the sanpera from the vypyr x2. Still no sound, at all. I checked my cable, it's fine. I tried to use my wireless with it, the wireless is fine. Just no sound no matter what I try.. what gives? I reached out to peavey. And haven't received a response.. pretty unhappy at the moment. I'd hate to have to return it. Killer sounding amp before this happened.

    I have a Peavey VIP3. I modded it to have speaker out jack (to hookup to a cab). I also added a FX loop because many of the built in FX are terrible. The delay and reverb are fine. Unfortunately the FX loop comes after the preamp and built in FX so, to use the loop you really need to bypass all the built in FX, including the delay and reverb. I use a rack multi FX. I did not know these new gen X series existed until today. I had a look at the guitar store and saw the amp models look the same as the previous gen, like my VIP3 ? And lastly, the encoder knobs have all failed by now. You have top turn them endlessly to finally get them to move left lol. I hope they fixed all the things I have mention for this X series. \m/

  • @im58woody
    @im58woody 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    You did a very detailed job on your video. My question is why hasn’t Peavey produced one that combines teaching you how to use it along with providing examples of the tones? It seems to be either one or the other and none are done as well as yours. Every other manufacturer sends out products to the TH-cam artists to demonstrate their product launches. Peavey? I like the sound of the acoustic amp and other electric guitar amp tones. The synthesized sounds are pretty bad. Also, they need to include a line out option to go direct to the mixer. I guess you can use the headphones out but that’s not optimal.

    The biggest failing of the original Vyper was the uncontrollable noise gate, it's just a bit too damn tight and can't be adjusted. Great sounding into a JCM900 cab.

    I wasn't sure which X Series I wanted until I saw this video. I think the dials look simpler to navigate than the screen of the X3 and the X1 just doesn't have the oomph I want as I'm also wanting to get into bass.

    Bass players and their desire to up their smart gadgets are under represented, it makes me wonder if this thing is any good on the bass guitar feature seeing Peavey didn't make any effort in making a video for bass players. I agree with both of you. I think the amp sounded good in this demo and likely is a good sounding amp. At the same time these controls/interface look like the exact same thing they have been putting on the vypyr series forever. They totally dropped the ball getting any marketing out for this amp. I've been interested in it since I heard about it almost a year ago and no videos can be found anywhere! This new line 6 catalyst series came out which i had no interest in but damn everyones got a video out for that so now I know about it and can get an impression on it. I won't buy this vypyr until I can confirm its not just the same exact thing as the last gen in a new box because I can pickup the last gen amp for dirt cheap. I see they added bluetooth and an app (only on ios, another miss by peavey) that doesn't look amazing either but that seems to be the only new thing I could see besides cosmetics. It certainly does look much nicer than the ugly previous generations at least. I like Peavey but they just don't seem to be trying to be competitive for quite some time. They haven't updated the bandit/rage transtube amps forever and still sell them brand new looking like amps from 2005! Please update the bandits, they used to be the king of solid state amps and now they are just talked in the past tense. Peavey could have been the solid state combo amp kings but they let boss katana an others easily take over.
