Good job!! This really comes in handy in my understanding. I've heard this religious faith discussed in terms of: "When you decide to become a faith based Ch, it's as if you've placed your brain in a bucket sitting next to you....." Don't worry, you won't be needing it the rest of your life. Good with that approach and thanks again my friend, for this great message.😁

YET if there is no God, then "you" are not a soul or independent conscience "you are just chemicals in your brain reacting. How can you trust anything you think?

I understand that this video is for atheists and humanists, but it is important to get a proper understanding of Biblical faith, so they at least know what Christians believe.
Heb 11:1 "Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen" ESV. Biblical faith is not about absolute proof but assurance or trust. That is what the word means. And you can see it when you look at the list of examples in Hebrews of those from the OT that had faith. Abraham moved away from his family and lived as a stranger in a strange land. Why? Because "he was looking for the city which has foundations, whose architect and builder is God." That is not absolute certainty in belief as much as he trusted God as He was the one who called Abraham into the strange land.
But even better proof is the example of Sarah. "By faith even Sarah herself received ability to conceive, even beyond the proper time of life, since she considered Him faithful who had promised." So she was able to have Issac because she had faith in God. He was faithful. She trusted in Him.
Hebrws is very clear that faith is not proof without evidence. That is only a conclusion one could bring without actually reading Hebrews 11 especially if one does not understand what the word meant in the original language. But even if one did not it is clear that faith is more about trust then the blind faith some atheists who are ignorant about Christianity claim.
I am not trying to be mean, but I expect it is important for an atheist to know the truth.

"...whether or not we want to continue to debate believers...". You could have stopped right there. Don't try. We're stronger than that.

First i want to say that i am against all religions known on this planet.
But i had my moments of knowledge of the future, that cannot be done from within the material realm.
So to me that proves that there is an entity outside of the realm of time that knows all, He can be found inside us all. And HIS name is abused by all abrahamic religions.
As if a book is a fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil... not the real source... not the real understanding of good and evil!

Funny that a god needs a person to please them, the Christian god is usually defined as a tri-omni god after all. 🤔

Very logical polite and straight forward. in west no one understands Bible and here is proof. read Jer 7-22 and 23. read it few times that God never asked for sacrifices. now read Heb 9-18 to 24. writer is talking about what ? writer was an ignorant man who had no idea what prophets preached. all verses about death/blood/sacrifice of Jesus r based on ignorance. if u learn value of Jer 7-22 u can rethink ur faith

You are an atheist who picks and choses verses that suit your argument. 2:30 Hebrews 11.3 - "Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." You misquoted the Bible - faith means being "confident" not having "proof or being certain". In addition the Bible is NOT the only basis of faith. Jesus handed down His authority to the Apostles also (Matthew 16:18) not just to the Bible. Plus the Bible was written by the Apostles so it follows their successors also have authority to clarify what was written in more detail.

My intention and goal is to inspire other secular people to stop arguing with other people’s beliefs, in order to hopefully minimize polarization and create a more tolerant and peaceful society. I’m only wanting us to find the commonalities that we all share rather than arguing over our differences. I may have unintentionally misquoted the scriptures, but my intent is to encourage others to build bridges between the two sides. Thank you for your comment

@@CommonGroundHumanism I don't begrudge people their faith. But can you PLEASE stop vilifying people that aren't Christian fundie wackjobs? Can you PLEASE stop promoting young earth creationism in our educational system? Can you people PLEASE stop trying to turn the US into a theocracy? If you people can do those three things, I promise I'll shut up.
