Beretta 30X - Major Issues, Buyer Beware

  • It’s awful having to make a video like this on something I was so excited for, but with the response I got from Beretta I felt I was obligated to do so.
I feel all firearms manufactures, big or small, deserve a fair opportunity to acknowledge problems and fix them. What I got from Beretta was truly the most outlandish and down right wrong answer any manufacture could provide.
To say 300rds is a “high round count” is insane and an out right lie. As was their deceptive and dishonest marketing that this pistol is more durable.
Please watch and reconsider buying one of these: please share as widely as you can to get this significant flaw out to the masses. Thank you.
God Bless you and your kin. I hope you all are having a great year and have a wonderful Fourth of July.

Spoke with Beretta almost 2 weeks ago: I have a replacement firearm on the way. It is an updated version of this pistol; unfortunately backordered as of now. Will be posting a video on it and my conversations with them following the conversation I reported on in my latest video on this particular pistol, as soon as it clears transfer.

Thank you for such a thorough review. Excellent content. I ordered mine 2 months ago, finally came into my FFL. I also ordered the suppressor height sights.
After I looked down onto the top of the barrel and noticed that there was a 1mm gap between the left side of the slide and the barrel, but the right side of the slide had no gap.
Something was not aligned correctly. I love Berettas but I also was not happy with the quality of this firearm that was presented to me was presented to me.
I decided to pass on purchasing the 30X.

I commented before but it appears it didn’t post, apologies for that.
Thank you very much for watching and commenting.
I also have that slide gap you mentioned exactly as you see on yours: I didn’t get to that as it’s honestly a minor issue compared to the truly awful problems I am having with wear and genuine damage to the gun under what should be a break in period worth of rounds.
I unfortunately think you made the correct decision not to purchase this pistol: I am very sad to see such poor quality on what was marketed as being much more durable.
I pray that soon we will see a modern, bomb proof .32 hit the market that can handle thousands upon thousands of rounds with a suppressor that wears as it should.

I've had many Beretta tip-ups: 3032 (broke frame, broke slide), 950B/ 950BS, 21A .22lr and .25, multiples of them, thousands of rounds.
All of these frames are alluminum, all of the barrels are forged steel.
I do not think your steel feed ramp is peened / worn. Not by copper / zinc / lead bullets it wasn't.
The rear rail nubs do wear to a point then stop. Keep shooting it.
I've put 250 rds through a 3032, 21a .25, and a 950bs with zero malfunctions. (Not the same day) They can do this without an extractor. (The 3032 did break on its day. It was my final "I'm willing to carry this gun" test day)
As far as point of impact the rear sight can be drifted to adjust left / right, ground down to lower POI, or front sight ground down to raise POI.
Try not to dry fire it. Not only can the firing pin eventually break but the firing pin retaining pin might instead. When it does the firing pin spring will launch the firing pin spring right into your eyeball if you aren't wearing eye protection. (I was shooting & wearing eye protection, the pin dented / scratched the poly lens) Cases go everywhere too, as you know, so wear eye protection every time.
I've learned to count rounds to avoid dry firing when the mag / chamber run empty. If you reall want to dry fire practice put a rubber oring or similar wedged against the back of the slide for the hammer to hit softly.
Recoil springs should be replaced eventually. 2-5k rds.
I do suppress a couple of my Bobcats, so far so good. The 21A .22lr will probably never be reliable enough for self defense but the .25 21a and 950's are very reliable.
All of these guns do better after 50-200 rds of break-in.
Keep shooting yours until it won't. Wear eye protection. Try to use milder ammo, especially suppressed. Fiocchi is warm, S&B very warm. Geco is weak, Blazer is weak, PPU in the middle. I've tested with my chronograph. I reload .25 acp and .32 acp.
    Keep shooting it.

    • @josephpepper3087
      @josephpepper3087 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

I want to clarify that I have thousands through individual examples of 21a and 950's, and in addition most got a 250 rd in one range day test.
My 3032 (wide, Inox) didn't well for the first 500 rds but kept improving. (Frame cracked in that time) Then I tried to run 300 rds in one day and the slide broke around 270 rds. Beretta replaced the gun and I sold it.
      3032's are lemons, 21a .25's and 950 .25's are great. 21a ..22lr are mixed.

You should watch my latest video: lots of very good info in there. This particular barrel, as I was told today by Berettas social media manager; is an aluminum barrel with a Terranium sleeve. So the wear I’m seeing on the barrel (while not full on gauling) is substantially more than would be seen on a forged barrel. That outer aluminum sleeve is MIM and not forged. This is blatantly clear from the MIM marking I showed in this video and that was confirmed today as well.

Some guns just aren’t meant to take a lot of abuse. Especially the smaller pistols. 300 rounds in one sitting is a lot. Most people don’t do that. It’s hard to tell from the video. If there aren’t any chunks taken out of the rail itself, and it’s just the finish flaking off, then it’s not a huge deal. But I still agree, definitely disheartening.
I have noticed in the new 92xi’s coming out that the finish sucks. I’ll look at the “new” ones at a store all the time and it always looks like it’s been carried or shot already. I’m guessing it’s just a cheap cerakote. That’s the main reason I’m not too interested in buying one.

You can’t say some guns aren’t made to take a lot of rounds when it’s directly marketed as more durable or to quote them “unmatched durability”.
And about the chunks: the mushrooming was so severe it locked the slide in place half way back so yes it was a very huge deal. It killed the gun after 400 rounds. Any gun made in 2024 needs to be able to go AT LEAST 10k rounds, they said it should go 15k. It’s dead at 400, that’s a very major problem.

It’s just poor choice in material, even worse choice in finishes (both for the steel and aluminum) and worst of all completely underestimating how much people would shoot theirs.
Thank you very much for watching, commenting and I hope you stick around for what’s to come! I also really hope they get these pistols figured out.

Baretta has 1yr warranty. Read that in a gun mag article back in 96. It almost killed Taurus back then till they started backing up their product. Baretta banking on their 400 yr NAME ONLY. Try a walther ppk / ppks .32 , .380 now made in USA. SA / DA with decocker. 90yr design.

I’m running an FEG AP-MBP now and I really love it. The walther PP is probably my favorite style of .32 behind the Colt 1903 and the FEG seems to be really awesome.

So many people letting one video and one pistol deter themselves from owning a good firearm

    • @FreedomsLife1776

@@ArmedAndIndigenous it’s far from one video and one pistol; beretta just sent out a notice about the barrel pin failures. Firing pin failures are being reported constantly and the frame damage was so severe the gun died at 400rds: slide would not fully travel to the rear, was completely stopped and locked up by the rail damage.
These are currently not good pistols, any positive review on them is either luck or a lying shill like Sootch. The majority of people owning these are reporting issues: to the point beretta had to release a notice on it.
You should watch my second video if you want the full story being I spent almost an hour talking with beretta.
I have a replacement on the way and when it arrives I greatly hope it lasts a long time (an appropriate time as any .32 should last) and I have no issues with it.

@@ArmedAndIndigenous it’s a neat design and whether beretta makes it work or someone else; that would be wonderful. What we really need is a 2024 .32: like an LCP Max with threaded barrel.
What I REALLY want to see if a 1903 style .32 with a polymer frame, double stack mag, threaded barrel, and Tokarev style removable self contained fire control group. That would be a remarkable pistol.

In a TFB interview, beretta stated that the 30x project started as a manufacturing cost reduction initiative. Yes the 30x has modern features and may have fixed the slide frame cracking issues, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the gun itself is made with cheaper/poorer quality materials and/or manufacturing techniques

@@w00borg34 agreed. I’m very locked in for how this product line evolves. I have confirmation today my new pistol will be a more updated version of the pistol, I have high hopes it lasts much longer than the 400 rounds my previous pistol lasted.
I am also extremely happy to show that beretta has honored their warranty above and beyond and that l believe anyone whom has issues on the level I had they can be confident their pistol will be replaced.
Idk how long it will be till my new pistol arrives, but I assure you I will be documenting my results with it expediently upon its arrival.

They did not. They said that’s how they are and to “be careful” tightening them. They also said the flat head screws shown in their own manual are an old design and not available. Really a pathetic response all around from Beretta.
