I am stoked for this back and forth, I ordered an Inox and bailed the next day when I saw this was coming out. Been so eager but I think I'll hang tight a few more months so they can sort things out if need be. I was also convinced it was stainless, slight bummer.

Good to see you found a resolution and that Beretta stands by their product. I will be receiving my Beretta 30X Just in Case Model and hopefully I will not experience the issues like you did. It will not be my carry firearm but strictly a backup or like its called "Just In Case".

You know Walther is making the PPK & PPK/S in Stainless, Blued Stainless (steel frames) in .380 and.......................
    .32 acp!
But unfortunately no threaded barrel yet. The barrels are pressed into the frame, too. Not a simple task to remove it for threading.
They don't have tall sights and cost $900.
I'm sure you know about Allegheny Arms? They make threaded barrels in .32 & .380 that drop right in to any Beretta m81, 82, 83, 84, 85, or new 80X Cheetah.
I have one and they are top-notch!

I've had the Walther PPK/S in both .380 and .32 ACP just because! Classic, beautiful, historic firearms. However, I've found both calibers to be totally non-fun firearms to shoot and both totally unreliable. Both are too snappy, dig into your hand at the dovetail and multiple failures to feed, no matter what ammo. The gun is a beauty, but absolute dog shit to shoot.

    • @josephpepper3087
      @josephpepper3087 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@9viggen dang. Well, the new models have a different, extended tang that is supposed to help. And, again, blow-back recoil springs wear quickly. So it may have been worn in the ones you fired. 500-2000 rounds depending on gun and cartridge. Not including rifles. They tend to have more robust / larger / longer / dual springs.
In my Beretta Cheetah firing .380 after about 500 rds recoil felt increased. The spring was half an inch shorter than a new one. Put in the new one and it was back to normal. I noticed the same with .32, same gun, different barrel, but it took about 1000 rds. I would say the springs could have lasted twice as long before using them further would really be beating up the frame. .380 is kinda hard on the Cheetah already. (Alloy frame)

    • @FreedomsLife1776
      @FreedomsLife1776  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@9viggenthat was my experience with my Manurhin PP in .32: the rear of the frame is super sharp and hurts to shoot. I had a lot of reliability issues with it: but I replaced all the springs and haven’t shot it yet since then though I’m sure it will be more reliable now.
I’m not too worried about a pistol that isn’t super fun to shoot: the 30x is far from fun to shoot. It gave me the worst slide bite of my life to the point I now have two scars on my right hand from it. The recoil is also the most stout I have ever felt from a .32, considerably more than a PP or PPK. I had a chance to shoot a pre war PPK in .32 and while it wasn’t awesome it was solid and that pistol ran perfect.
As long as it fits in my pocket, doesn’t rust in a week, and doesn’t beat itself to death in 400rds I will be happy.

@@FreedomsLife1776 Have you fired a Kel-tec P32? We've had several in the family and although they seem very cheap they work pretty well. One had about 1100 rds through it. But it was getting a bit rusty and we sold it. It only jammed one time and that was a JHP rimlock. The owner didn't know about that. It would occasionally have a light strike on harder primers like s&b and cci. Not very easy to shoot well. Long but very light DA trigger, tiny, very thin grip, no sights to speak of. Mag release was easy to accidentally get pressed in pocket. But! They are extremely light and thin. Under 10 oz loaded! Recoil was light because it's a tilt-barrel. 10 rd mags were available, too! Had one, worked fine. Not sure if still made but it was made by Mec-Gar and sold by/as a Keltec mag.

Glad you got a better Customer Service person this time. Mine was very good, too, when I had to get a new firing pin.
    Couple things:
those rails aren't the only thing securing the slide. the front of the slide has a bottom cross member that the barrel goes over and locks down.
My rails are as mushroomed as yours. HOWEVER, I watched a review on this gun with someone who hadn't even fired it yet, and it looked like their rails were the same.... so..... I don't know if maybe that just how it comes out of the factory, or if it's so damn weak that just racking the slide a couple times will do it, too.

Could be around 2-4 weeks and if they are awesome enough to exchange this pistol for the do it yourself model it’ll be idk how long till I get that pistol.
Sounds like if they send me a new pistol I have to do a transfer again, not just get it shipped back to my door like a repair would. So that’s a little more money spent on it but it is what it is if I get a new, properly durable pistol.

You said in this video Beretta told you the Do it Yourself model is "forthcoming." I've had the gun for 2 weeks as it's already been released. I suspect it's the exact same materials as the model you're having problems with. I've not shot it yet, but will shoot it soon both supressed and non-supressed and let you know what I see. By the way, this is my 6th Beretta (M9A3, APX, 3032 Tomcat, 21A Bobcat, PMXS), so I'm a fan of the company, but if I see wear on mine as you have on yours, we will have an issue.

Yea after they told me that I told them I had researched it and not only saw it for sale but that I see many people already have it: I told them flat out they need to replace that pistol with the DIY model or I’m gonna not be happy. They have the pistol as of two days ago and will update on what they say.
I also encountered an issue the day of sending it in where that rear rail damage was causing the slide to only travel half way: effectively killing the pistol. So my pistol died at 400 rounds: I really hope yours does much better and whatever the black coating is on the DIY frame enhances durability.

Had the same issue with mine after just 100 rounds of full-power factory ammo: rear lugs mushroomed/worn from the slide pushing up on them, front frame walls deformed from impacts by the crossbar of the slide. Thinking I had gotten a lemon, I sent it in, and Beretta ended up replacing it without any explanation. In retrospect, the frame is indeed anodized and/or painted aluminum, and there's no kind of alloy that I'm aware of that will stand up to hammering by a steel slide.
At this point, I'm planning to get some weaker ammo and will just shoot it until it eventually fails.

A proper 7075t6 frame with legit type 3 anodizing can handle full power .32 all day long. If an AR upper can handle tens of thousands of cycles with hardened steel running against it: there is no reason this frame wouldn’t be able to last the 15k rounds they said it should.

I purchased one of these also and have put a few hundred rounds through it. Great shooter. I am seeing the same wear pattern. I’ve also had a strange problem where live rounds are being double ejected (spent and live round) while shooting. So, I shoot the 8+1 rounds and there are only 8 bangs and then I find a live round on the ground. Happens about every 2-3 mags. Have you experienced this? Cool guns but they look like they have some engendering issues.those finishes that look like a satin finish bare metal at first glance..don’t even want to get started. I really liked that gun but couldn’t stand it anymore because of that. Was just cosmetic stuff ,but I had a feeling there was more issue’s possibly coming in the near future.A friend wanted it. I pointed out everything I didn’t like about it & told him everything. He still wanted it. Had a wad of bills in his pocket from caddying that day. Tips & maybe some of his pocket money mixed in. He didn’t count it ,or know how much it was…nor did I. @@antoniosalieri573 I’ve handled a few and it’s just not for me. I’d love a ruger LCP II in .32 acp with a threaded barrel. I’d be happy even if it didn’t come with a threaded barrel.
I just posted a video on an FEG AP-MBP you might find interesting. A very reliable, cool pistol.

@@warrenrosen132 revolvers are beyond antiquated. A proper self loader is always going to be better, and cylinder gap for a pocket carry: I like my anatomy fully intact.
Plus if I wanted something that big: I’d carry a g26. While the 30x is thick it is smaller in all other dimensions, carry’s 4 more rounds, and is suppress-able. Not to mention that reloading is a necessity in todays world full of gangs and the very real threat of having to lock an attacker down in a zone to isolate their ability to cause more harm. Guarantee I can get 3 mags off before anyone but Jerry can get two cylinder loads off.
The day of the revolver was more than 100 years ago. If it’s what you choose: all the luck to you. I’d only carry a revolver if it was between that and a knife. The revolver is by all means a hipster and nostalgic choice in todays age. But that’s not to say I don’t appreciate the elegance and enjoy shooting a proper, old revolver. I still have my very first pistol I grew up shooting that’s a JC Higgins .22lr 9 shot.
Thank you very much for watching and commenting, I unfortunately won’t have any revolver content coming any time soon but if you’re interested in modern firearms and suppressors I have a lot in the works.

This girl hadn't even shot the pistol yet. Watch, starting at 39 seconds, and you can see a quick glimpse of the slide rails. They are mushroomed up just like ours.
Again, unless this happened by her just racking the slide a couple times, it seems like maybe it comes from the factory like that.

Interesting. That’s really bad news if that’s the case.
When I was going to put the pistol in for repair I was confirming empty and making sure I had cleaned it nicely: and the slide locked half way to the rear due to the mushroomed rails and would not go back any further effectively killing the pistol. So mine died at 400 rounds.
They seriously need to get this fixed because at this rate they are going to have to replace every single one they have made so far.

@@Juneof1944no like fully assembled, barrel down: when trying to rack the slide as would be normal for function the slide would no longer travel past half way. Not even close to far enough to pick up a round. That’s the furthest the slide would travel and I spent 15 minutes taking it apart and trying to fix it and it wouldn’t fix. I could get it to travel the full way back once or twice and then it would continue to stop half way back.
The mushroom of the rail I could see was catching on the slide rails when I looked at it with a light.

What a poor design, they needed a rail system, that would protect the end from wear. The slide system could start out thin and smoothly angle wider till the end. You could also incorporate a ball bearing rail of some kind to help with any friction. Everyone cuts corners today for profit
