    Absolutely gorgeous shots, Nathan. Metropolis really brings out the rugged beauty of the place! Looking forward to the rest of the NZ shots / vids

      Thank you so much, Julius! I was stoked with how the Metropolis turned out! I filmed three videos over in NZ, and took many photos!!

    Lovely images Nathan. I do like that film which is very suited to that landscape.

      Thanks Jules! The Lomo was a gamble, but I think it worked!

    Great work Nathan!! Absolutely worth dragging that big camera around 👏

      Thanks Kyle!! Yep, definitely worthwhile! People would always say the 6x17 cameras are terrible for international travel, and that an XPan is superior... but I have no want for an XPan, and happily carry this beast around! 😍

    Beautiful captures man. Can't wait to see more captures and videos from the trip. That Lomo doesn't handle too badly!

      Thanks Pete!! I was so worried with the Lomo hahaha! But I committed, and I'm stoked!! bit of green colour cast to the yellows/browns, but it works!!

    Love the images you captured! I’m heading over to NZ in early August and one of my primary objectives is to photograph Lindis Pass, hopefully with snow. I’ve been there previously in Autumn, but i’ve wanted to return. Hoping for good conditions. Thanks for sharing your experience.

      Thanks so much for watching, and for the kind words!! I was really hoping for snow, but we didn't get much throughout the trup.
      I did grab a few shots on the Lindid Pass 5 days after these, and there was a tiny bit of snow, but nothing significant. I want to go to NZ every winter haha!!

    Thanks for this trip far away.... really
    Far away because i m french! I enjoy
    Very much your videos with your
    Fuji 617. I like films and panoramic
    Photos. I use a Noblex 150 pro with
    Provia 100 f. The noblex is very
    Special because you have an angle
    Of 146° degrees!. And the ratio is
    2.40. The ratio of cinemascope
    Movies.

    • @MeasuredLight
      @MeasuredLight  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much for your kind words and support! I really appreciate it :) Oh wow, the Noblex would be very interesting to you! Are those the ones with the swing lens? That super wide angle of view, and the cinematic ratio, sound amazing!

    Great shots. The Fuji does a wonderful job.
    Just curious - the photos show the landscape as much more green than it appeared in the video footage. Is that a colour cast from the film? A post-processing decision?

    • @MeasuredLight
      @MeasuredLight  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you 😊 The 6x17 is definitely my favourite aspect ratio.
      The green tones would be a characteristic/cast from the film. This particular film isn't typically used for landscape imagery.

    Hi Nathan, to avoid putting your film through the X ray scanners, did you buy and have developed the film in NZ or ask for a hand search? Have a pano of Lindis Pass in my study that I took with 903SWC in 2008.

    • @MeasuredLight
      @MeasuredLight  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Robin! I actually got really lucky and had the customs folks actually offer to handcheck at both ends! I was blown away. Next time I am thinking of buying and developing over there, and then sorting out scanning at a later date.
      Oh wow, what time of year did you go? I might print one of these I think!

      Good to hear that Immigration was obliging. I went in late April as I wanted to get the trees in colour. Wanaka and Lake Tekapo are other places you would have an enjoyable time with 617. Actually, you could get great 617 shots anywhere on the South Island.

    • @MeasuredLight
      @MeasuredLight  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@robinlevin3221 Autumn would be fantastic! Perhaps I can go in Autumn next year! We did go to Lake Tekapo and I got a few shots I am happy with. We didn't get to Wanaka this trip though. I do agree that the South Island lends itself to 6x17 very well!
