    Gotta recommend the Frankenmech mod. The pirates start running around with these great Frankenmechs, and I've ended up with a mech comprised of an Annihilator torso and Nightstar legs!
    Slap in a bigger engine, play around with the guns a bit, and I've got a 100 ton monster that runs around at 80 kph and has 3xLAC5, 4xSRM6, 2xLLaser, and 4xSLaser.

      Yes! Love that mod! The Squall is one of my all time favorite designs. The Vinegaroon (spelling is off I think on this one) is another.

      The Frankenmech mod is on Steam and maybe Nexus?
      Came across a mech I hadn't seen before, think it's called the Red Dragon? 100 ton Crusader essentially because it actually has leg mounted missile hard points.

    Another great exciting episode! Please look into upgrading weapons though, you could have some real dps on the field if you took a minute to upgrade.

    Earlier today, I was running missions, a 105 tons under the limit, 3 heavies and crab, fairly decked out, and was surprised we didn’t lose a single component/mech. We definitely went slow and my marauder was as as broken as it could be, without losing anything, haha.

    I wouldn't be surprised if it's the first part of a new mission type. Assault the massive base kind of thing. VonBiome and Coyote mod work together really well so I could see them doing something like that

    Once the new Lara pilot's had a chance to train up, she seems like she'll be the ideal pilot for the stalkers and archers Baradual keeps building.

    Biggest issue with the salvage parts other than being fairly expensive and not getting a random roll for extra parts like HBS is that you don't get a chance at high tier items on board. Conventional salvage you can sometimes luck into a mech loaded with tier 4s and get them more efficiently than paying for them separately.

    Wait till you start looking at those little armour things and the other weird items you can now buy and fit. I find myself lost in the mech building screen sorting through what I can do. Basically always check the equipment sales everywhere, there are some really cool things that can be fitted that pop up for sale that turn mechs that are considered less optimal into some great custom builds.

    take off the weak center chem laser and replace the existing srm systems with two srm sixes. Thats my initial thought anyway.

      That was my thought too. Helps with ammo and cooling exile making your srms better.

    Putting an XL engine in the PXH-KB makes those SRM6s easy, it’s such a fun striker mech that I wonder what I will move on to after it - reasonably tanky with its quirks too and fast with the mobility gyro and the jump jets to zoom around the map.

    I'm running close to the same mods you are YAML and von biomes and har jel and infantry mod and a lot of other ones.. i ended up with an Urbanmech that was really good yesterday, it could accomidate two AC2s and a medium laser.. i been using it in 10+ and it hangs in there.

    love mw5 i think its a swan song to what mechwarrior being its every thing mechwarrior online isnt. my 1 gripe i kinda wish they could have thrown in a better left 4 dead style ai director to pop in specialty threat units like boss units instead of the scripted set of X helicopter spawn X tanks and x standardized tonnage type mechs... i want like in the middle of destroying an objective an enemy atlas Drop pods in 70m to your left out of the blue.

      Nah, you need a full up overlord drop, haha. And real aerospace, like fighters/ground attack, not just vtols.

    I noticed when you change mechs in game you are always the pilot you dropped with.
    I noticed when I changed mechs and the pilot leveled weapons it didn't even have! lol

    The fortress walls can be damaged, they just are more heavily armored than the vanilla walls

      Cicada isn't a bad mech, if you are able to change the engine for something lighter. 6 energy hardpoints are quite decent (I had mine have 2 large chem lasers +4 medium lasers in my latest playthrough)

    Subjective Raid - Map with 6 or 8 targets, you need to take out either 4 or 6 of your choice. lol

    @Baradul just maybe you go for more money that way you can simply buy at least 1 heavy mech you like in the industrial zones near higher ratings, then go back to salvaging style. It is so much quicker to buy good mech than salvage it, and you have soooo much money in equipment and mech parts you have yet not wanting. Also upgrade the weapons.

      you sell all the salvage it is usually more than the C bill rewards

      @@Cenot4ph oh i know but its still fast to do 3 or 4 missions 4 c-bills n go to a mid range industry system n get a good heavy mech or 2 well mediums... then go for salvage... speeds up the process to get better higher missions for better salvage.

    I've noticed that the AI has a really hard time functioning properly in the vonBiomes maps. Both the friendly and enemy ai. I've seen it in my own games and now the past couple episodes of your game as well. Wonder what the issue is?

      I imagine that the nav-mesh is too noisy. Gaps that are almost big enough.
      And a path finding that is not tuned to the size of the mech. So then when it tries to path through, it realises it cannot fit.
      Moves away. Then path finding finds a gap (the same spot it just abandoned). Repeat ad infinitum.

    Any chance you can list the mods in your description..? I've been trying to use the ones ppl reccomend, but I always seem to have compaitibility issues between them...Heh we need someone to create a RogueTech modpack for mw5mercs I guess...

    Once again in the last episode you did not receive the marauder that you were supposed to get for that mission what the hell happened to that.

      Probably one of the mods is out order in the load lost, so it’s overriding some things. Two ways to fix it, one, look up what they should be, the order, then you have to delete them, and redownload from steam in that order, or get the mod organizer from nexus. Thankfully mine are working, except a handful of minor things from various mods that don’t really matter. But nothing game breaking.

      As far as I can remember he only accepted that mission not started it, so it is still on the to do list.

      @@Plastikdoom no such thing needed, you unzip the mods in the mod directory. Go inside of the game to the mod section and enable, it takes care of all of the ordering by itself.
      the only thing when this would be relevant if there's content overridden by the same mod, which would break things regardless

      @@Plastikdoom The MW5 Load Order Tool Set will also let you set the load order even with steam mods, that way you don't have to delete, unsubscribe, and all that. Might help if you get other mods and such.

    How do mods change the game in some meaningful way? I still see the same boring missions, the same boring landscapes, and the mechs still lack the weight of a machine that's 50 or 100 tons.
    Honestly, that's my main criticism for this game. The metal chassis should creak, and strain under the extreme pressures, every step should be a monumental achievement for mechs like the Atlas, every turn of the torso should be slow for huge mechs, and draw so much power it will slow you down, every gunshot of those huge guns should have crazy recoil, and dropping of a cliff like in the start of the mission shouldn't damage the legs a little. It should destroy the cliffside and the mech itself. Am I the only one drawn out of the this game, because of the lack of realism?

      Honestly, it sounds like you're just not into the setting for this game. While I agree big lumbering mechs are cool, kind of like Steel Battalion (the second one), in a setting like Battletech where you have speedy hover-tanks and jets that can transfer between space and atmospheric combat, a vehicle that barely moves under its own weight and risks falling over after every shot wouldn't be worth the fleets of tanks and fighters you could have built instead.
      There's also all the technology in-setting that actually makes the mechs function on the level they do. The special metal alloys used in their construction, the gyro clusters, the high-density robot muscles, the nuclear reactor that powers most vehicles, the computer programs that help automate a lot of the piloting and targeting, and more make for a mech that actually becomes worth building.
      Realistically, mechs just aren't a design that works for combat, but I don't think the majority of mech fans are into mecha for the realism.

      ​@@Matthias129 On the contrary, I love mech games. I've been playing them since MW2. And I get what you're saying about the futuristic tech that governs the operation of these machines.
      That said, how about the environment? Does the sand in most planets also contain metal alloys, gyro clusters, and nuclear reactors? Of course I don't expect an answer for such a silly question, but what I do expect is the mech to sink 5 meters into the ground, and practically plow the desert when it walks. And I expect it to perform accordingly to snow, swamps, rock, or asphalt.
      And I gave those games so many chances through the years. By MW3 I thought to myself, "destructible environments, maybe this time". And then it was MW4 "maybe this time". Then it was Mercenaries "this one?". Then 5 was announced, and the trailer filled me with hope. Then I saw gameplays and stopped caring anymore. Like how the devs themselves stopped caring.
      Quality of life improvements from MW2. Sure, plenty though the years. Graphic improvements, lots. Audio, great.
      aaaaand that's it!
      Where is the breakthrough? Nowhere to be found. Just, re-skin, increase resolution, hire more voice actors, repeat the same formula. Which I get for a game like FIFA, but this. I want more from this.
      And sorry to disagree man, but there's not tech in any fictional universe that won't creak, and strain after being buckled by a few AC rounds. That's just how reality works.
      And something you misunderstood. Just because a WW2 tank cannon can't turn faster than a motorbike, doing circles around it, that doesn't mean the tank itself is useless. A side gunner can still hit the driver, and put and end to this charade.
      Same with heavy, bulky mechs. They are slow, but that doesn't make them weak. It makes them dreadful. Just imagine something that huge approaching you, and you can't even fathom a way to pierce it's armor. And the only thing you can do is run around in circles with you hovertank, taking potshots at it, hoping you find a vulnerability in the tones of plating, so maybe you hit something critical.
      Hell yeah I've been waiting for realism in a game like this. I don't want the Gundam / Armored Core combat style. Those are fun, but I consider them "arcade" type games. While I consider the MW games, simulators.

      ​@@JoTheVeteran sadly i don't think mw5 can really get to the depth you want. Modpacks like roguetech and bta 3062 come close i think, but that's also an entirely different genre.
      Can always try and learn to mod and make something yourself though, perhaps.

      But I do like big robots, and I describe the main immersion problems in that game.
