Thank you for sharing this trick! I'm a solo camper and the ARB awning and annex room was such a struggle to put up alone (I'm also vertically challenged, haha). Thankfully fellow campers have helped in the past but if I'm ever way out dispersed camping this will be a lifesaver! 🙏
I'm so proud of you Sailor! Good thinking and man, what a difference, huh? You'll have to teach Cindy the "a rabbit comes out of the hole, runs around the tree, and then pops back into the hole" method of tying a Bowline Knot. It stuck with me from childhood.
If it was only that simple. We have gone over and over a few basic knots. Someone just isn't wired to remember them but darn she looks good sun bathing on the bow!
Another good teaching video. I recently discovered Feder railing on my OVS 180 awning, end support rails. I just purchased screen panels to insert in the railing on both ends of the awning and I may have to use what you've demonstrated. Thanks. When I zip in the sidewall, it's like being inside a cave. For the new end panels, I'll see how they perform in the wind and rain, etc. The OVS panels were three times the money versus the thick screen panels.
As always, very nifty mod. I would guess that tying the rope to the end of a small carabiner clip and using the clip to connect to the grommit would allow you to easily remove the rope so it's not in the way, making the rope easy to remove and attach.
Thank you tom. I probably should have showed the room set up with the line but I just toss it up on top of the room underneath the awning and it's up out of the way and always there when you need it.
Great video Guys! Sam just so you know. I'm keeping track of all the new tricks your figuring out while working on the 12sk, because I'm going to need a deduction of some sort lol. Thank you Sam. You really do make it alot easier for us that solo.
Im a solo traveler in my teardrop and i love my arb awning, but i get tired of going back and forth with the awning room. This is going to save me so much time and pain!!!!
Sam, Cindy, lucky we have the Ironman 4x4, which has a zipper all the way around on top of it. Brooks Robinson showed us that you simply unzip that piece and then slide it through and then all you have to do is hold it up and zip it to it. Sorry the ARB doesn't have that zipper on top. So i would recommend the Ironman 4x4. Love you guys.
I have a Tuffstuff awning and annex room, which is 6.8x8'. The material is heavy-duty. Using this rope mod to assist in putting it up is a total game changer. Thank you so much. I am a senior female and dreaded installing this room. Along with my annex room, I also have a windbreak. Is there a way to set up the windbreak with the awning room attached. The TS track looks the same as the arb. I have the arb awning plus the screenroom. It is just too much for me to handle at my age. Plus, the TS is the perfect size for me n my dog.i have a 4dr jeep with an ursa minor. Having an awning and screenroom is a big plus. I absolutely love your channel.
@@triptonmiller8532 thank you for watching and your kindness. I am not familiar with the Toughstuff brand but if the track is similar to the ARB then you can't install the windbreak and room at the same time because they both use the same kedar rail slot on that outside rail.
@adventuresofthememorymakers Thank you for a quick response. I will never be using these arb items. If you would like to have the whole setup, awning, and screen room. I would have no problem donating them to your channel. All I would ask is that you pay for shipping. They are yours if uou would like them.

Great tip, it's always been a pain when putting this up by myself. Also like the video of the rail support, Ive also experienced having one bent.
@@davidb9501 glad the video helped!

Good tip for installation of the annex room. Glad it doesn’t take a fancy knot to install. 😅
🤣🤣🤣
Good idea, work smarter not harder!
This is very niche, but my kind of niche. Thanks.
Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment. Hope it helps.
