- This is my "Summoners war how to rune Theomars(The water ifrit)" video.
An updated version of my previous "Theomars speed vs attack" video.
Compared to my last much shorter video. This is a much more longer in dept/guide/tutorial version were I show you how value of SPD changes depending on Theomars overall stats.

If you wanna do the math on you own, here's the formula:
10/7*(SPD+210)*ATK

How to build / how to rune can vary depending on your current situation, it's very easy to say that a Theomars should always be build with spd and almost as fast as possible (but maybe not faster than your supports) thanks to his multiplier that increases his damage the more spd themoars has.

I've used this calculator to predict Theomars damage with different stats in game, and it proved to be very accurate.
Because units have different DEF-stats, you have to subtract the amount of damage based on their defense yourself.
As for the ending summary. I did alot of tests and comparisons with tons of different stats to make things certain.
I couldn't add in too much text to make it look plain simple enough.
To be more exact of how Theomars SPD increases/deceased.
It seems that SPD does give you more ATK% the lower SPD you got or at least the further more you increase ATK only and not SPD.
When ATK is increased by 100% and SPD increased by 90%
That's where half of added SPD exactly equals ATK% in extra damage (different variations might also result same way, needs further investigation).
And if SPD would be to equal ATK entirely, ATK would have to be increased by 200% and SPD by just only 10%.
Then, adding 10 SPD would exactly equal as adding 10% ATK.
But since this changes Theomars stats again, the formula again changes. Which gets us to nowhere again..
So why does this even matter? Am I just over curious about this?
I don't claim to know everything about Theomars multiplier now(not at all), but I wanna share with you guys of what i know. Might be someone else who can figure this out faster or wiser than I've so far. If someone is ever gonna read this, let me know if there's something explaining this more precisely.

bayu ragil the damage shown might not be 100% accurate for everyone I can agree on that :/ because everyone faces different opponents with different stats. The only hard challenge now is to increase atk(while having violent runes).

as u noticed finding the optimum of that problem is harder as it seems at the first look. We got an optimization problem with 3 variables. x - speed y - atk% z- damage. u already pointed out the linear correlation between damage (speed) and damage(attack%). this would be more easily comprehensible for users if u would use diagrams. Mathematically, u worked out the increase of the curves.

Nice work, but I noticed you used different leader skills. Mostly Theo lead was used, but you used Baretta lead too. That changes the damage too :)

That's my bad, expect the dmg instead to be lowered by ~2.6%( ~700dmg) where baretta leader skill is used.

I like using my theo with atk slot 2: +1400 atk , +66 spd, 87critrate, 160% crit dmg. I use him with chloe against enemy theos in guild wars and it works perfect because usually they are spd slot 2 theos and they are faster so they hit the invisibility and I can go then and kill them
well my theo has +1395 atk and +77 spd, so in % it is +170% atk and +77% spd i have him on violent will and can increase atk and spd with grinds and enchants. (his runes are +15 and he is on atk slot 2)

fam help me out a bit. I got lagmaron on 1500att 203 spd 62crit 171 critd. my friends tell me i should go more damage than spd. is it like the video explains or keep him like this. ?

The multiplier on lagmaron is a little bit different compared to Theomars multiplier :/.
I think you can put high Spd(60~80) on him as long as you get him over 1600atk.
I don't have lagmaron though but I just checked his multiplier, you seem to have high Spd on him but his ATK could be a bit higher I guess.
depends on what you use him for, for a squall build thats optimal(with room for gettin better ofc) for his third youll want more atk and acc

Oh, I see.
Yeah kinda, as long as they are equally built their value in dmg stays equal as well.
For example, if you’d have 200% atk and 100% CD, adding 1% CD would give more value than atk because of the imbalance.
But adding 1% when you have 150% and 150% CD wouldn’t be too differential wherever you would add it to atk or cd.
You should also inlcude how defense affect the dmg because some players may have build their support with high defense.

Alright, his CD seem very high. I’m not sure how much that will help when atk and spd is that low in comparison. If you’re u able to sacrifice some CD for more spd, I’d recommend you try that.

I think it looks good. It looks like you have a great balance between your atk, CD and spd also.
If you were to add more of ATK or CD, try to add both so they still keep that balance :)
it seems that optimal damage comes from having these as close to each other as possible.

and i think give high Spd to theo will work great when you put him in GW Defs =D
Revenge runes is also very useful, especially which such high spd. he just keeps hitting!
Remember that the extra damage from speed does not only increased by increasing his SPD,
Also by increasing ATK, dmg value from SPD also goes up. pretty neat huh :p

Your first choice looks great (1700atk and 72spd), from there try to increase his atk(~1823) before adding more Spd.

Water Sanctuary, Ancient Sword, Sky Tribe Totem and Fallen Ancient Guardian Builds are taking count? Because my Theo, with spd and atk buff do 31K~32K dmg on Rakan with def break.

Unfortunately I don't have any of the chimeras so I can't make a video of them(yet).
I've checked their 2nd skill multiplier earlier before. I think they can't rely on spd as much as theomars can. So they might need more than 1000atk before investing high spd on them.
If I'm fortunate to summon any of them I'll certainly do a video of them aswell :)
Actualy for them its mostly the same but from experience you want more spd on them, reason beeing is that yes if they have more atk than speed, they will do far more dmg than how Theomars scales, here are some examples(Note: those are just memory numbers, I have no hard proof for it besides my experience)
My Taor had about +1700 Atk and 56 spd on Fatal with Atk on 2 and his Squall was hiting for over 70k
then I swiched Taor on Swift and gave him about 1300 Atk and 108 spd, his Squall was then hiting for about 50k.
So in the end if you look into it, if you go by the same rule as you pointed out for Theomars your Squall Chimera will do alot more dmg, but is it worth it cause his dmg numbers are far more insane and the diff between 45k Squall and 80k Squall is nothing more than Eye Candy for PvP, not many players in the entire game have monsters who have more than 40k HP with relevant speed

If your Taor dealt that dmg, then I believe you :).
With 108 spd, 40K~ Dmg isn’t that bad indeed and makes Taor much safer from getting outspeed.
I only checked his multiplier through the sw wiki a long time ago. And taking it from your experience, fast as possible seems always most profitable for all spd scaling units
Well, there aren't exact numbers with proof to back them up, its memory from before my account getting susspended, but in Chimera case their dmg multipliers are high enough to not put so much focus on atk while in Theomars and Hwa case "newer" players tend to make the mistake to make them "too fast" since many people still seem to not realize that for Spd scaling monsters the ammount of spd determines how much % of dmg from your atk you get(simplified).
Generaly I found out that a sweet spot for Theomars and Rakshasa(big fan of them) is to have your spd be about 70 % of your Atk% ammount(ex. 70 spd = 100 Atk%) but that differs from player to player since you have to account for other monsters and turn order(ex.: Tessarion/Theomars combo) but that is what worked for me

should i get swift runes plus blade for him but atk% on all slot 2,4,6. This way i can get the atk value needed but also more speed. This is just the case where i want theo to hit the hardest.
of course there will be spd substats in other runes
Yeah I think Swift is a underrated option for some players.
Stat-wise Swift would probably help Theomars ultimately since it allows you to go with ATK% slot2 and compensate the missing SPD through substats and the SPD bonus from your Swift-set.
If you're interested in a Theomars that hits harder rather than relying damage on Vio-procs, then absolutely, try go for Swift Runes :)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't most units whom scale with spd not really see big dmg until 250+spd? In that case, if there isn't at least 209 spd from subs, then attack in slot 2 is better for damage, but worse for turn cycling (say if passive gets popped) Oh, and assuming no spd tower, ofc. The better your speed tower, the lower the speed can be, but only slightly.

It should first depend on the monster’s multiplier, some may need +200spd, some may need more or less.
As for theomars and the research I’ve made so far: as long as you raise atk and spd fairly equally, you shouldn’t lose to much dmg by sacrificing atk slot 2 for spd.
A faster theomars seems to still be the current meta, unless u have a good team set-up for a slow theomars team.
@@alphasummoner1799 yeah,rn I'm on a 192 (+38 from tower+Verde lead) so pushing 240, 69/192 cr/cd for DB10, but my sig still crushes him in times due to AoE, but on the wrong side of Verde..
EDIT: my Verde pushes two-twenty-something, sig is at like one-ninety-something with tower and Verde lead.

For just db10 It’s easier and better to build a slower but more atk/CD heavy sig than a theomars.
Theomars would probably do u more better if u focus him for pvp and with higher spd.
@@alphasummoner1799 I whole-heartedly agree, my Theo is that fast for GWs mostly, I rarely use him in PvE. I simply said what I had so others understand, not to critique. Also, I got Sig to the right side of Verde in turns, my times dropped by about 30 seconds in total, mostly from mid boss and boss stage time cuts. I still need to work on AoE wiping the fodder floors to really see a 1-1:30 consistent run.

Thanks, If I'd get monsters that are often used I would do that😂 planing to make videos of monsters that I currently have, Hwa and also great farmable team such as Copper and Katarina teams.
Btw, Great stats on your Theomars. If you feel that you cannot atk before enemy theomars/atk Mons, then I'd recommend u try to increase his Spd. Having blade runes or broken off-set I pretty much the same as long as you have great crit rate.
But if i do that i might lose an armor breaker attacking before him, is that okay? or should i fasten like my galleon?

When you wanna make your Theomars faster, you also have to make sure that your armor-breakers are faster.
Either you try to make Galleon faster as well or you keep theomars at his current Spd below Galleon.
Since galleons main purpose is to def break and give your atk mons atk bar, making him slower than your atk-mons wouldn't be right.
You'll just end up in trouble in battles if your teams Spd aren't well tuned.

Well I am lacking attack apearently thank you. But if i'd change theo this ffr to 122% att and +40 spd I don't think I'll be able to get 2 turns against g3 guilds or c2/c3 players (my rank) I don't have the runes for him yet to give him 122% att and 60-80 speed so I guess its better to leave him high speed low att for now

You're welcome. Adjusting your Theomars depending on your situation and rank is also a good thing. Make it work, then make his stats better from there.

Also, I'm not sure how fast your Theomars is, but as long as his atk is at least 100%, you can get away with focusing on higher Spd.
Its 99% atk now and 72 speed so not even 100%

Yea I just did, either I sacrifice perna's runes and I have the theo of dreams or I keep it like this
Mine is +73 speed, +1500 attack +10k hp 62r and 185 cd and hits for easily 42k with just an attack buff. I wish i had higher speed and cr though sadly :(

Seems to hit very hard though. If you're able to increase his Spd while the other stats remains the same, you'll have yourself a real beast theomars 👌
thats what I'm trying to do but sadly i need either legends speed grinds for my sub set or violent enchants :(
My vio Blade Theo has about +150% atk, 79spd And 200% crit damage x)

My theo has +65 speed, +1000 attack, 84% crit rate and 187% crit damage. I preafer to use more crit damage... Why? Because crit dmg increase BOTH SPEED AND ATTACK damage 😉

Of course, as long as you have decent ATK.
Even for theomars, balancing atk/SPD and CD are most efficient stats and damage wise.
1k+ atk, at least 60+spd
with 150+ CD is a good base indeed for theomars that you got.
"Fast theo" with only +50 speed hes gonna be out sped by every single mon after conq 2 thats if ur lucky... speed vio is the meta so +50 is slow

You're right, that's why I suggest lower level players stays on a faster theomars, while a slower should be left to the more advanced players who know what they're doing.

i watched hwa`s tutorial then i found this .... and as title says " how to rune theomars , spd or atk " looks like whats the best choice between that two ... still cant find anything obvious in decription that its about his first skill and if you wonder i have better stats than your posted numbers on atk cd atk and overall atk cd atk works much better ! i also tested everywhere , spd cd atk its just for vio rev theomarses...

I’m sorry if you didn’t like it, maybe i didn’t state that too obvious. I assumed that most players were curious about his first skill so I disregarded his second skill. I now know that there are some that are interested in his second skill aswell.
If atk cd atk works better for you, don’t let this video stop you from doing that. Since you have put up a video about toah, I assume you know enough how to build theomars and might not need this video at all.
I stated in the beginning in the video that this video is aimed for intermediate and below, therefore stats were adjusted for those players.
i didnt said anywhere i dont like the video , video is more than good .. with all that multipliers and explanation, congrats for your work but imo i chose for auto gb/db and beasts the atk cd atk with spd in subs.Good luck in your future work.

I am so fixated about PvP and SPD that I must’ve forgot about seeing him through a PvE perspective and that there’s some players that rather use him somewhere else than just guild or arena. If I ever do a remake on this video, I’ll try to add those things. 😄

I see, it also depends on how fast your opponents are.
If you feel that your Theomars keeps up with your enemies, you could stick with atk on slot1 till you get something else :).

Or you can just use some basic math, instead of wasting your time doing this video.
10/7*(SPD+210)*ATK is the formula, if we dont consider CD in our calculations,
theo has 100 base speed, so to double your damage you need either +310 speed or just +100% ATK.
if you make a similar calculation you will notice that even after you have +100% ATK, still adding +%100 ATK benefits your damage more than adding +100 SPD,
AND also adding +%100 ATK is always easier than adding +100 SPD.. so in order to have maximum damage you can just go +%ATK,
But thats stupid because your theo will be very slow.
EDIT: If your theo already has +210% ATK, only AFTER THAT POINT adding 1 SPD is equal to adding 1% ATK, so the sweet spot is +%300 damage +90 SPD, but if we consider CD into consideration then for that sweet spot you need 300 CD as well, and since these stats are unobtainable, i think most attendable sweet spot for max damage is about +225%ATK, 225CD, +15SPD
I'm just trying to bring something new to the SW-community, sry if you didn't like it.
The reason i took my time uploading this video is because there are players who doesn't know or just wanna see someone else doing all the thinking for them. If someone doesn't wanna do the math then they can find someone else explain on TH-cam instead, right?
The main reason i don't like it is mostly because the "add +100% ATK then as much SPD as possible" is not true, very misinformative..
You just get the SPD needed for your team composition then add equal amounts of +ATK% and +CD for any monster to get the most Damage out of it. Theomars's SPD damage scaling is too little to be built on that, and should not even be considered unless you got godly runes. And by godly i mean +300% ATK, +300CD, +90SPD, 100CR level of godly
I see. What I mean is that I've seen some players(considering beginners) that add either too much SPD or ATK because they're not sure how to build him because his Multiplier also scales with SPD.
For that reason I try to tell them, at least make sure they have 100% ATK and 40 SPD as a base.
from there they should go for whatever suits them based on what stats they can make and what runes they've got.
My recommendation was to have at least +1,000 ATK then make him faster than 40 SPD, because SPD still gives descent amount of dmg till 80. after that they should focus on increasing ATK.
Some might disagree though, which I expect.
BTW, i said have at least 1000 ATK (122%) then make him faster.
100% would be indeed too low to invest all on SPD.
