Dude this is gold. I’m 37. And am 2 months into this career with HVACR. Before this I worked for CPS for 10 years. So this is a complete 180 for me so I appreciate all of this instruction.
The Irony of life --- I left the HVAc trade to be a Border Patrol. I started the trade at 16 with pops - . Left two years ago at 35 years old. I wish you all best of luck; there's alot of lames in the trade so don't let your morale deplete.
You’re not alone brother! I’m 37 and almost at my 90days. I was in apartment maintenance before but doing real hvac, refrigeration and hot side I’m trying to relearn hvac the correct way while everything else is brand new. Feels great when the light bulbs click and you feel yourself progressing!
Thanks for the refresh very much appreciated and Paragon for me is the best defrost timer in the world for its reliability, build and simplicity certainly no BS with this guy 😂
X is defrost termination. A fan delay is wired in series with the evaporator fans and stops them from running until the coil reaches below 25 . Once it’s below that point, the fans will kick on. This is done to stop moisture from damaging the walk in box
Good stuff. Ive always known how to operate and set the timers, but i didnt know how the insides work, as in where to put my leads and what to look for. Now that i understand the wiring and internals better, ill take his info to troubleshoot one of my clocks that i think may be bad, When i go back to work monday. You're a hero.
I have a walkin commercial cooler with Tecumoseh compressor and Paragon time control, both are more then 25 years old. The time control is similar to one in your video. Recently my walkin cooler can only keep to 7 celsius instead of 4 celsius required. Could you tell me how I should try to adjust it. Should I reduce the defrost duration time?
Yo Jumper, so when checking the clock for continuity is the unit supposed to be powered on or off? I'm assuming off. Also is it OK to check with the wires still connected?
My defrost timer runs normally when it stops when it reaches the defrost mark. After 2 or 3 hours, I have to manually turn the defrost timer past the defrost mark and the compressor then starts working again. This is a brand new timer. The heater, thermal fuse and defrost sensor are all tested and working. What could be the problem?
Bro the should rename the paddles in a stick shift from gas brake and clutch to gas brake and JMT. You also come in the clutch for me I’m about to change a DF TIMER tomorrow thanks for your explanation. Very much appreciated keep up the great HVACing lol and great content. I’ll always tune in.
Fantastic. I wish you can translating to Spanish is so helpful. Can you make a video how to check a defrost sensor for a fridge and freezer cabinets thanks !
Thanks jumper man, i believe you have so much knowledge, because you share it with others and God multiplies it for you ten fold

It’s never to late in this industry. As long as your body is healthy!

Thanks for the walk through. Have any vids on the X terminal in operation?

Man I really learned a lot from this! Thank you so much for taking your time to make these videos!!
Excellent presentation and well explained. Great as always job JMT. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
So what would you get at L1 and L2 if it was a 120v circuit
I wish you would have covered the coil and it's function with the X terminal.... still you did a great job.

De los pocos videos que ENSEÑAN A MEDIR Y PROBAR RELOJES PARAGON DE MANERA SENCILLA Y SIMPLE.

Definitely a good explanation. Would be cool to see you explain one with LP terminate. I have one such clock that I pulled out recently
Jumper man, I really appreciate this video. I did not know why Defrost timer works with 208 or 240 volts.
Are we checking this with the unit powered on or off? Also is it OK if the wires are still hooked up while changing?
Thank you very much for this tutorial.. It was a comprehensive explanation. Highly appreciated.
Thanks for explaining these alway drove me crazy
You are the best in the field...Great explanation bro...
Yo Jumper, so when checking the clock for continuity is the unit supposed to be powered on or off? I'm assuming off. Also is it OK to check with the wires still connected?
Forget about continuity what will the voltage read on 120 volt clock it’s a switch so will it say 0 or 120 volts?
So when ever its in defrost mode it kills the electric to thermostat?
Meters in continuity mode may stop the buzzer when reading above some value, usually given in spec chart. Maybe 40 ohms?

You're the best! Can you please do a troubleshooting video for Walk-ins. Like a step by step instructional video? Im sure we'd all appreciate it!
Love your instructional videos.
