Best video I’ve found on jacking up an Audi vehicle. As a beginner at DIY auto repairs, I especially appreciate the extra lighting and the close-up camera angle so that I can be sure that placing the jack in the correct location. Thanks!

Glad your video illustrated the correct way to lift the car, but to place a jack stand is the next dillema. My C7 A6 as well as others are carpeted underneath, I’ll keep checking as this 4000 + pound car needs to be stable.

Thanks Dude. I was worried I'd screw up the plastic around it. Great idea with the wood.

Going to add to this since it's the first result of a Google search. That rectangular black rubber is the jacking point for the A7 / S7 / RS7. Can see this at 2:16. The OEM jack stand has a cylinder fitting that goes right into that rubber piece. As to where you put jack stands, I don't know but using the frame rail (pinch weld) towards the centre of the car will bend.

This is completely wrong and you will damage the car there are rubber adapter's sold on Amazon for 10$ that fit inside the area where your car factory jack goes into notice the arrow ,then you use the adaptor on your floor jack without damaging anything.

I think that plastic squares support to come out and put a jacking blocks in to jacked up

OK so do you need the weight of the car on the wood through that plastic jacking point...or behind that point on the metal pinch weld? I can't figure it out as the audi jack in the trunk has a cylinder on the end which sits in that plastic jacking point and takes the full weight.

Thanks for posting. Once you jack it up where do you put the jack stand? It doesn't look like there's room for both the stand and the jack. I have an Audi and I would like to do my own maintenance.

Did you ever figure out where to put your jack stands?

I hate that the jack stand location isn’t detailed in the owner’s manual. You’d think something that important would be included right after the section on jacking up the car, but nope. It skips right over that, and goes straight into removing the wheel from the car 🤦🏾‍♀️

The weight needs to be on the wood. Basically the pinch weld will sit directly on the wood block. The purpose of the block is to keep the plastic from getting crushed. Hope that helps.
