Bought the GoPro Max. I was very dissapointed by the fact that the Android app doesn't include the easing of keyframes. On top of that, the GoPro Player is only available on Mac and not PC. I don't edit on Premiere and I have an Android phone, so GoPro doesn't offer any editing possibilities if you use Android and PC.
There are updates coming that should be bringing these features to Windows and Android. You can also do Overcapture (instead of keyframing) on Android if you want. Just tap the dots on the upper right when in keyframing mode and the option to Overcapture will pop up.
The only thing that i don’t like in GoProMAX is the stitching line, the invisible selfie stick doesnt invisible smoothly unlike insta360 where its invisible selfie stick is absolutely amazing. I hope that gopro improve its stitching problem
So I want to pick up the insta360 one x, but I am an android system user. My concern is that the android app does not have the same features and functionality as the iOS app. Any clarification on that matter.
Great review...just the review i was looking for as im currently deciding on which of these two camera to go for..tbh im leaning towards go pro but the work flow is putting me off a bit. Im looking to attach it to my drone and then edit my videos in da vinci resolve...so i may wait until go pro improve work flow...
7:36 is gopro that much better than insta 360 one r in low light? Then why everybody recommends insta 360 over gopro because of video quality? Results are dramatically better on gopro or I am missing something? edit: My bad its insta360 one X not R in this video. So Is the quality of nigh shots matching the gopro MAx with new One R?
Hey guys. Great videos as always. Do you have a video comparing the GoPro mobile app with the Insta360 One R mobile app? I'd like to know what strengths and weaknesses each app has in your opinions. I've used the One X and now the One R and I do like their workflow. But I haven't used any GoPro products yet. I'm considering owning both just for fun. But if the GoPro mobile workflow isn't as easy to use then I'll wait until they come up with a workflow that's at least as good as Insta360.
Hi! Is the camera overheating during long recording in 360 mode (e.g. 1-2h)? Some people think that after about 50 minutes, MAX dies (even with the charger connected). Many 360 cameras have an overheating problem. I have bad experience with Samsung Gear360.
I plan to buy one of them. For me tracking would be important. I would put camera at static place while doing kitesurf tricks around camera. Later edit footege - camera to fallow my movement. As i understand, its eazy to do with insta360 software and would be time demanding if i would buy Max or not so time demanding? Or maybe now some important updates have come out? For me it wouldnt matter so much if i edit in PC or in phone(android).
What camera, lens @ focal length/aperture, and mic/audio you are using for the main talk to camera segments? The audio sounds great and that lens does a sweet job.
Excellent review. It sounds to me like the Insta One X gives more creative options, especially in the app, and has better stitching. I’m interested to see what the update does for the camera. As someone who has multiple other cameras, the One X would be my choice. It does 360 well and the app is easy to use. Also, there are some really cool accessories for the One X to get some unique shots. On the other hand, GoPro’s apps haven’t worked well for me in the past - sometimes they didn’t work at all. I don’t need Hero mode and the touch screen isn’t a big deal. Just my 2 cents.
Thanks for the video! I was looking for this, and after watching single videos of each camera I finally found the correct video to make the best decission. I couldn't find another video in wich they pair both cameras to make a better review of both. Watching from Mexico.
Cool video! One thing to mention about the Max is that you need an iPhone 6 Plus or better and windows 10 to only export the video. If you don’t have adobe pr cc you cannot use the plugin for cs6. Very disappointed in that.
weight, size, apps, stitching, and price.. i go for one x.. i just edit my footage and its easy in my phone.. lot of vid/photo editor for a 0hobe now a days..for vlogging i go for max, its water proof and good audio recording.. but let them fix their buggy apps and stitching process.. for now sorry go pro.. theres will be up coming 8k 360 cam at price tag of 599.. more bigger sensor and have touch screen.. better wait to see that..

Trying to justify buying both lol. Do you find a use for both or does one sit on the shelf most of the time?

When you're the director/editor, it's basicaly the same... he/she talks, you stand still, you listen, you react when your turn has come to, you give value and credit to your fellow host. With the gopro max In hero mode, does it always level the video? And do the leveled videos require some form of export, or does it automatically have a mp4 file in the max that can be used directly on a laptop?
Great comparison. Thanks. Couple of questions: I own a Mac laptop and would hope to do all the editing/reframing on there. Assuming I just use the software provided by GoPro or Inst360, how does it compare? And can I do all the editing/reframing on a Mac as I might be able to do on say, an iPad?
If you record in 1080p, then yes. If you need 4K or 2.7K, then HERO8 is a better replacement (and yes, it is much better) to the HERO7. However, if you are fine with 1080p, being able to record in 360 and reframe is awesome.
does anybody know if a new product from insta is ready to be lounch ? need a new camera sience i brake one of the lenses of my one x ( as$#oles from insta don’t want to change the cam even if selfie stick failed )

On every shot with the Max while holding selfie stick you can see that big black "blob" where the mounting screw is....!! That and the no slo-mo, are main reasons I'm waiting for Insta 2X
Two of my faves reviewing both cams that I currently own. I'm on the fence about the Max. I don't yet know the right ISO and shutter speed for shooting at night so I'm getting shaky, jittery and blurry footage from the Max at night.
Unfortunately you need a fast shutter 1/120 (1/240+ for best results) to have stabilized video. At night/low light, this is going to require a higher ISO. it can help eliminate shake/blur, but you'll get more noise/gain. You'll just have to play with the settings to find out what works best for you.

Thanks for the review. I do have a problem with calling the one x an action camera as it requires an external case to keep it from getting wet or scratched. The GoPro seems a lot better in that aspect. I am a first time 360 camera owner and went with the Max. We ski and snowboard as well as water sports with the boat so the Max makes more sense for us.

Good video.. When are we going to get another update with the Max, we need slow motion plus more frame rates 2-8 etc 5.8, come on GoPro theses are expensive cameras and it's 2019
Max just released. Usually GoPro does about three updates over the first year when camera is released. The first generally comes within the first three months. Way too early to be expecting one just yet.
Hi , love ur videos buddy .. my question is .. is android app working fine for gopro max , there are people saying camera and app is not working fine for android
Yes, it works, but there are currently issues with the Samsung Note 10. GoPro has said they are fixing this and an update is coming soon. The other limitation of Android app is you don't currently have easing between keyframes. However, you do have the option to not only keyframe, but to also use Overcapture.
Everything about the one x is the feature it has. But sadly the video and audio quality doesn't match the Tag. It just recently released but I rather wait and pay for the next Insta One XX
Good to see you together, great comparaison 😀both cameras are very very close indeed with specific advantages for each and targeted this action cam market of reframing 360 in 1080p but on top MAX has the GoPro Hero mode. I have my opinion for the winner but I keep that for my French channel 😂
People shouldn’t compare the insta 360 one x to the max. The one x is last years model compare it to the fusion to be fair. Wait and compare the insta 360 Two X to the max that will be a more fair comparison.
I think my one x will be my last 360 camera. it's becoming expensive for me with all the improvements on the video quality and all. I'm sure work flow will be a pain as it goes to the 8k resolution.
pff, if the mp4 file from the gopro is correct, u still can could import it in insta360 studio and do some magic, cant test it, dont have it yet, but i tested it with my shity rollei camera and that worked
Great review guys! On point! I do hope gopro does make updates in the hardware and software and hope they watch this and listen to your comments. Am a fan of both the max and one x. Use them for different purposes. Ditching my dji osmo action now since I now have the max to do vlogging.
Great video. Totally agree with the summing up. Not bad for a 3 week old camera. Good times ahead (hopefully). Personally dont think the HDR video from the Insta looks very good. Over saturated.
Guys remember, the Max has just come out, and clearly has superior image quality. The insta360 team have updated their camera like 1000 times since it's launch. GoPro will smash them out of the park with their upcoming updates.
Luke & Meg's Biking Tube the insta 360 one x’s rival was the fusion. Comparing last year models to this years model isn’t fair. Wait till the insta 360 two x comes out then we can get a fair comparison
Great job lads. Appreciate the effort. In general insta for me. Maybe they will have touchscreen and better battery life so looking forward to onex2! And seeing what Kandao has up its sleeve!
Both are great but I'll choose one x cause its cheaper now and i like the vibrancy of its video quality overall i can say one x is better even on quality and other big reason about what makes one x better than max is the creativity of one X. But if i just want a 360 camera with the latest hardware max is the one but im still gonna wait for one x successor about their stabilization their equal
Please gopro insert slomo in 360 video. No slomo in action cam is a crime!! Improve the time warp mode with slomo option and with motion blur like the insta360.
heyy breddaz, good video thanks! i have insta 360 one x. love it. i think, aperture: f2.0 its better like gopro max. ok gopro colors maybe better, but u know...lot of layer and ready. just a minute.. i was in egypt..under the sea, with dive case. unfortunately the frame is visible. not so good... what kind of the visual with gopro max? under the sea? that's what interests me. lens frame is visible?? and sorry, but exiguous your presentation about insta's edit app. i use everytime the viewfinder, much better like gopro max edit app. simpler and faster. i make videos to instagram or facebook, im not professional cameraman, not use the computer software...so i think the gopro max edit its not so good, again. im so sorry. it was a deterrent to buying. and one more: good news, simpler is the hero mood, but 5mp? if I remember correctly... very few, embarrassing :P why?? :P
Not honest review in my opinion, starting on first videos, where dynamic range is way better on insta, and much more detail shown on one X, and even so, you say Go Pro has better quality. I dont have neither of them, so i dont care witch is better.
GoPro Max is terrible. No one will tell you its is broken out of the box if you are a PC/Android user. No PC connection. No Android connection. No functionality. How was this video made?

Everything about the one x is the feature it has. But sadly the video and audio quality doesn't match the Tag. It just recently released but I rather wait and pay for the next Insta One XX
Good to see you together, great comparaison 😀both cameras are very very close indeed with specific advantages for each and targeted this action cam market of reframing 360 in 1080p but on top MAX has the GoPro Hero mode. I have my opinion for the winner but I keep that for my French channel 😂
I am testing the MAX at the moment but it's raining all the time and guess what is the feature that i like in MAX at the moment ? 😀
Hey there. I like the vid. Maybe add a compressor to your voiceovers tho! Sound goes from okay loudness to way too quiet.
Your low light setting may be set differently between the two?
Now insta360 one x app has sound enhancement..
So we really need a One Xv2, don't we?

Ha haaaa! This was a great video! I loved the Star Trek bit! Thanks for sharing!
So, which one you choose? Comment below
One R is out Need shell out 500 usd
maravilla!] muy bueno
Please gopro insert slomo in 360 video.
No slomo in action cam is a crime!!
Improve the time warp mode with slomo option and with motion blur like the insta360.
Thank you for the Information :)
just bought a oneX2, simply because it fits my pocket. haha
Guy in the Puma shirt looks like Diplo
heyy breddaz, good video thanks! i have insta 360 one x. love it. i think, aperture: f2.0 its better like gopro max. ok gopro colors maybe better, but u know...lot of layer and ready. just a minute..
i was in egypt..under the sea, with dive case. unfortunately the frame is visible. not so good... what kind of the visual with gopro max? under the sea? that's what interests me. lens frame is visible??
and sorry, but exiguous your presentation about insta's edit app. i use everytime the viewfinder, much better like gopro max edit app. simpler and faster. i make videos to instagram or facebook, im not professional cameraman, not use the computer software...so i think the gopro max edit its not so good, again. im so sorry. it was a deterrent to buying. and one more: good news, simpler is the hero mood, but 5mp? if I remember correctly... very few, embarrassing :P why?? :P
Insta 360 is my favorite
very informative content-wise but Daniel seems very cold and somewhat impatient with Shanil. Otherwise it would have been a great colab.
I like the Go Pro video quality.
Not honest review in my opinion, starting on first videos, where dynamic range is way better on insta, and much more detail shown on one X, and even so, you say Go Pro has better quality.
I dont have neither of them, so i dont care witch is better.
Why watch this then if you don't care? Haha :)
то самое видео которое я ждал! *Спасибо огромное!!!*
GoPro Max is terrible. No one will tell you its is broken out of the box if you are a PC/Android user. No PC connection. No Android connection. No functionality. How was this video made?
