That was great. I’ve been around dirt tracks for almost 60 years and I’ve seen a lot of “professional” race tracks that weren’t prepared as well as that. Looks like a total ball!!🏁🏁🏁🏁
I think you are right about the end plate/shields on the Ruckus Rake, looks like mounting them above the brackets instead of below would give the clearance and help keep them from digging in. Some feed back to AMI for the implement would be to add multiple holes on the top and bottom mounting plates for end play angle as well as forward, backward, and tilt. Looks like the mounting plates only have one position, but adding multiple holes would give you many options for adjustments. New to your channel, I'm enjoying how you repurpose other people's throwaways for useful and productive projects. I was called crazy for using an 863 Bobcat skidsteer to reshape a property that had a 300ft elevation change from top to bottom in a length of 3 acres and a lot of rock, but understanding how your machine works and know the real limitations, a person can do amazing things. 👍
Great job Mike! Showing your grading skills and how much prep work it takes for a few hours of fun. As far as the tag-a-long trailer ramps being too wide for the smaller machines. I put a center piece on mine that was hinged on the edge of the beaver tail and folded down just like the ramps do. the sides hooked onto the ramps. when not needed it just stays folded up on the beaver tail. Never in the way for the larger machines. Might be "another" winter project for you guys to work on.
Great video. Great explanation why you only have to go 4 inches deep. Honestly I was thinking about chisel plowing it and disking it up. Then run a culti-mulcher over it. Then run the Ruckus rake or harley rake over it. That is what we use a the tractor pulling track. I'm very impressed by the Ruckus rake. I'm amazed it done everything that it needed to do without doing everything mentioned above.
Love it. Reminds of the good old days of prepping the motocross track and getting the bikes ready for race day on Sundays. Many a Sundays Way to relax go man go
There are 6-8 ft (2-3 M) tall nylon glass "fishing pole" with flags on top - and a pair on the corners to drive through - tall to view - take out and store each time. Load with unload with - plenty of sight with them. Just a thought for backing out blind... 4 wheelers use them as rally id flags.
OMG every time I watch a video like this from you guys in the states I get a little more envious, great weather and nice blue skies and some many motorised sports and loads of space unlike the little island I live on called Brittan!
Just read through a bunch of your replies and it seems that you're not much of a conversationalist off screen.... LOL !! Loved the video, we have what's claimed to be the best dirt track on the west coast, nearby in Lebanon, Oregon. they say it's the dirt. Grew up around that track and even bent a little sheet metal in the course of having fun. Never had the cash flow to be dangerous, but it was still a lot of fun!!
I think your Grounds Keeper must have been in school. Macy had a great technique for watering the track with her dad. The power rake is still a great option with your suggestions they seem practical. 🧐 Santa are you listening?🎅
All Mike wants for Christmas is a Ruckus Rake! What a good job it did, the racing was great. I thought you might have Macey run the tractor with the water tank, she did a great job last time! Thanks for sharing. Kevin
I had that problem too with a New Holland I bolted 2 round convex mirrors on top the forward arm where the loader arm goes down just above the Cyl.end welded a flat steel plate 1.25"w x5"L put a twist on it drilled a hole 3/4 " from top mounted the mirror you can see down and behind you , It goes up and down but can see everything just watch branches .
@@DirtPerfect What Im saying is, around here the first person who gets hurt on a track, sues and whoever owns the property pays all the doctor bills, and hopefully they dont lose their land that the track is on, and anything else they can get. Ok :)
Never realized how much effort goes into a track like that. GoCarts have come a long way since the late 60’s. We had several miles of dirt roads to explore but never had a chance on a track.
A drone would be cool to have in the air while you are racing and you need to get Wade and his boys out there on the track. That would be a hoot! Like the video.
The wings that are digging into the dirt on the side are meant to be mounted on the other side. They are designed to keep the material in front of the drum. They are normally mounted on the side of the drum in the direction you are traveling.
Good morning Mike, I really enjoy all your videos, and they keep me in sane.I broke a few body parts. And it is going to take longer to heal. Keep them videos coming. Thank you so much for sharing
Wow, I already forgot the name of the power rake... anyho.... its a keeper for sure. I am looking for a bob cat or one of the brands that makes pancakes and eggs but I do know that they make a vacuum cleaner that does and also paints the house while you enjoy the sausages. I think if it don't cut into emergency funds that you should own it. Keep on having fun cause its hard to frown when smiling. Like passing gas in church, who can't laugh when that happens. Some day when you look back at these times when you only had a million dollars worth of equipment and then your going to quadruple that and never look back
Backing a skidsteer off of a tag trailer can be a little unnerving but you do get more comfortable. I think one upgrade you may want to do is to make wider ramps. Those one seem to be on the narrow side. At the very least modify the pivot bars to allow them to be put closer together for your smaller machines. I used to run with a single tire triaxle tag trailer with a steel deck and you always checked your ramps before backing off. Sketchiest load I ever had on it was a Toro triple deck mower. The rear steer tires were on the ramps about as much as your JD 755. 😬
Mikey... me thinks your cart tires are getting worn just a little slick. I have a couple of lawn mower tires I took off an old Murray that my neighbor was junking out. They have a slow leak in them but, if you pour in a quart or two of Fix-A-Flat, they should hold up for a couple of hours of racing. Despite that, they still have about half their tread. And bonus... they have been speed tested. You see, the reason he was scrapping the old Murray had to do with a steep incline and a failure to set the Parking Brake. I am planning a trip to see my brother in Princeton next Spring... just in time for the start of the 2021 racing season. If you like, I can throw them in the back of my pick-um-up and drop them off. Think how intimidated TMBS will be when you show up with dirt ready rubber. Shall I?
Hello Mike On your new Trailer ramps try welding some 4" angle on the inside of the ramp or some walk way grate for traction. just a thought hope it helps
Can you get the float solenoid out and see if it's got a part number on it that you can find it without going through Kubota. I've done that a few times and saved several hundred bucks.
Hello D.P. I just had a quick thought about your ramp/ skid steer situation. Have MBTS make a folding grid that will (when unfolded) hook on top (the trailer) the sides (the ramps) and supported in the middle with an adjustable leg. When not needed it can be disassembled and stored on the front rack of the trailer.
Where's the kiddie crew ? The last track prep vid they were there helping run the water wagon while you rolled the clay nice and flat. Always a good way to bond with your kids. I do share one thing with you. I've got an awesome Father in Law. He actually sent us our wedding rings from Categena Colombia which saved my but a few thousand dollars from the rings I was gonna have made. That was back when I was living in the Keys making a really good salary as an electronics tech.
Coming from someone that works at a dirt track and preps one fire a few professional flat track motorcycle racers, after you were done grading you should water it and then wheel pack it.
That looked like a lot of fun. About a 100 years ago, I race Motocross. Nothing earth shattering, but loved it. Thanks very much for sharing.
That was great. I’ve been around dirt tracks for almost 60 years and I’ve seen a lot of “professional” race tracks that weren’t prepared as well as that. Looks like a total ball!!🏁🏁🏁🏁
Mike is getting in some pre-race laps. Practice makes the "dirt perfect "!!!!!
I think you are right about the end plate/shields on the Ruckus Rake, looks like mounting them above the brackets instead of below would give the clearance and help keep them from digging in. It’s fun to see you have fun. A person can’t work all the time.
You should install a flagpole in the middle with a 360° camera mounted on top. That would be great constant footage.
Thanks for bringing us along !! 👍 stay safe and love to the family !!🇬🇧
Thanks for watching
I bet the kids love you .....real nice track

It’s so cool to have your own playground to hang out with friends and family and get that unwind time in. Jealous.

Great job!!!! That track turned out perfectly!!!!! I’m sure everyone loves it!!!!!!
Thanks
Great racing thank you for sharing
I'm diggin the old slide move you put on him and the tradin of paint. Rubbin is racing they say.
Great video there Mike. Thanks again for showing what and how u prep the track. Good job on the race to. I noticed a little bump and grind there.
4:40 Ha! Nice to know I'm not the only one that uses hoodie sleeves and pant legs as useful all around rags.
😁
Well we must be a bit backward. That mashine is fantastic. I'm impressed with that.

LOVED the racing part! I found myself tensioning up as you and blue helmet fought for the finish! Congrats!🍾
Thanks
God bless and be safe I have you all in my prayers

Ok

anyone gets hurt, plant them in the woods. nobody will ever know ;)
That racing was like way cool---thanks

I would love to race go carts again. What a thrill
sweet go-kart track i love go-karts
Thanks
The guy with the most toys wins......you have a good head start and are young so watch out you could be the winner....:-)) I'm cheering for you.
Now that looks fun 😀
looks to me like you got a mini road scrapper. yeah, cool man
you amaze me. this is really enjoyable..great show........
Thanks appreciate that
Pick-up a rearview backup camera w/monitor and install it on the back of the skid steer. I put one on my Kubota and luv-it!
👍
Hey Mike the you did a Damm good job on the track and the racing is awesome. Thanks for the video.
Thanks buddy
Way cool, One of my favorite videos. This made is easy to locate you via Google Earth. God bless you brother.
Thanks
I had been looking around for, "between the rows" ! Found it! :)

Excellent video bro. Safe travels up your way.
Thanks
Now that is dedication!
Mega ramps would certainly help for the narrow equipment. MBTS I’m sure can weld up a few mods for easier loading this winter.
A drone would be cool to have in the air while you are racing and you need to get Wade and his boys out there on the track. That would be a hoot! Like the video.

You should buy the ruckus rake. I am very impressed with the versatile work it can get done quickly
Streamline the front buddy, those size 14s are like 2 windbreaks.
loved the racing segments. Looks like a lot of fun
Thanks
What a good time for all the "kids" just tooo much fun!
Thanks
Nice job building the track Mike. Rubbing is racing 😄

Mike, when's the race between you, MBTS and Jason? Jason can bring his cute lil Skid steer. Skidsteer drag racing 😆
Coming soon

I was rooting for you to win! The video was great and thank you 🙏!

enjoyed the video...thumbs up
Thanks
Very cool 👍🏁
Looked like a fun evening.
Was a blast
I'm jealous I wish I could join you guys. It looks like a lot of fun
Lol thanks buddy
That's what I'm talking bout 4 hour labor, many laps of fun priceless
😁
We always back up on our tag trailers and or you can spin around on the deck if you need too.
Add a camera to the back of the skid steer. Be useful for other situations also
try a Convex one like on front corners ove school bus or on front a Peddle bike one
I can't believe it's already been 2 years since you built that slide. Dang, time flys.
I know crazy
The guy that built the track should always win!
Amazing what you can get done in a short amount of time when you have the right tools and know what the hell your doing. Nice video.
Thanks

Your gokarts are badass I want some and a track now it looks like fun 👍🏽

Hi Mike, make your track interesting by adding an extension with a few bends. Sort the men out from the boys. Great video as always many thanks.
Got that look closer
