Mike that was a long day! But thank you for taking us along. I really enjoyed the video, really gives us a true Visual of your lifestyle and your job. You should do more of these day in the life videos in today’s times of dirt perfect. 👍🏻
These kind of videos make me respect you as a person even more than I already did. You're just a dang fine human being. Thanks for all that you do with this channel.
A couple of videos back when you were prepping the racetrack, brings me back to one of the most favorite videos of mine which was you and the kids prepping for the track your son and daughter we're taking turns with the water trailer and the Cyclone fencing that you were dragging over the track. I thought that was one of the neatest videos , kids had an absolute ball that made both kids day and your day 2 along with mine. You are an awesome individual but you still take time out of your work to go go-kart driving boating, bowling and non-stress community projects. Mike Simons you're an awesome person father husband and those lucky enough to be a friend of yours. Thank you again
I GONNA SAY YAY 👍🏻 ❗❗ You know I'm fan of both you & The Captain ❗👍🏻 videos are always awesome 👍🏻 Sounds and voices are always right 👍🏻 Machines and trucks are never to loud👍🏻👍🏻 🇺🇲🙏✝️🛐 GOD BLESS.
You don't know how much better you and Kleeman losing things you just had makes me feel better. If I had back the time I spent looking for tools I just used, or parts I just laid out, I could have completely rebuilt my wife's little tractor in the time it took me to fix a bad starter solenoid. Thanks for the entertainment!
Good to see a whole day again - especially featuring the comedy double act that is Kleeman & Simon 🤣 To echo your thoughts at the end of the video, I have been self employed the majority of my life and wouldn't have it any other way - but for anyone who thinks it is "easier" than being employed, they need to experience more than just a "day in the life". I am lucky to have the support of my wife who works full time in our business and some great part time employees - without them we would not have the business we do today and in honesty I think employment would be the far easier option. 👍
I never did the self employed .. some people don't think of every thing ,, insurance , then the tax man , supplies and book work phone calls , permits ,inspections ,, there is more but self employed is not easy ..
These types of videos are great. As a former small business owner, I can appreciate your schedule and you do a great job explaining the behind the scenes of a small business owner and how important relationships are while keeping levity while you work. Keep up the great work!
With 30 years of general contracting behind me, I'd say you nailed it. I enjoy your videos. They let me on the job sites without worrying about the liability of the outcome.
Loved the video, and the content. You are so right about the trials and tribulations of owning your own business. My brother owned a auto repair business and he put the MOST hours in of anyone, and hardly had any vacation time in 25 years. Yet the local community thought he had all the money and the time in the world. I have great admiration for those that own their own business. My hat is off to you!
Mike, I totally know where you are coming from. There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes that people do not take into consideration when we shoot them a price. I was self employed for years but with my line of work insurance companies ran the price down. My dad did custom hay work some were good others tried to run the price down that it wasn’t worth the hassle. I’m new to your channel dirt work “farming” is in my blood. Unfortunately the family farm is being pushed out by a growing city. I now design Cat yellow equipment so your comments of what you like and dislike in a machine matters to me. I love your attitude and how you work with Matt and others.
It was great to see that you support Habitat for Humanity. That is such a wonderful organization! I have to admit that I was a little tired trying to keep up with your work day...run, run, run!
4WD Low on the first decision is the real bad. And, yes, the overhead of self-employment is the expense no one sees on the receiving end (and that’s not including Goverment overhead🤬)
Mike that was a good video. I was glad you were able to repair your trailer. The captain looks like a young fellow. I am glad you take time out to enjoy the little things like bowling. God Bless and Good Health.
Love your videos. There was a time in my life when I wanted to be a welder and heavy equipment operator but then my body decided it could hot hardly walk anymore so at least I get to enjoy someone else showing their passion for something they love.
Good thing you have Ambition and other things👍. I watch you in double time and you exhaust me.😳. I enjoy all the videos and the support team you have.😁
I stumbled across your channel on accident and I have watched several videos and now I’m hooked. I think my wife’s hooked now after seeing Days of our lives playing on your TV while testing out the repairs. 😁😁😁
You are the channel, every once in a while good to see your life outside work. I also like the behind the scenes of what goes on to do the job. It is not just digging and covering up. Thankyou for posting video.
I was exhausted just by watching the video, take care of your health man. Nice to see a house builder who is also a pastor, I myself is a member of the Norwegian Methodist Church.
So happy to see you are a bowler. I grew up in a bowling alley where my mom worked for 20 years. I worked there for a few years. I started bowling at 3 years old and I'm now 44, so I have a few years under my belt.
You hit the nail on the head at the end of your video explaining the big picture of why you charge x amount of money for an hour and a half of work. A lot of customers don’t realize what happens behind the scenes. Just like you explained, completing maintenance and getting prepared for the next day when all of your employees are at home. Very good content!
great stuff shows just how much preparation is behind running a business as a self employed tradesman I did it for the last 30 years till I was 70 and as you say Its a way of life and i miss it now I'm retired so its great watching you guys at work el
Very nice video. Mike there's a lot of people don't realize what all it takes to run a business. But one thing about it you've got Matt and Aaron and Captain to make for a interesting day. Take care and have a blessed weekend.
Thank you, for your telling it like it really is about owning your own business. It's a life style and we have been doing it for 19yrs. Really enjoy your videos and content be safe and bounce off the guide rails if you have to.
I really enjoyed this video, it was an insite into the workings of your construction work which was interesting, and of course topped off with the Captain Kleeman doing his stuff......Brilliant......
The ending of your video is spot on I have been self employed for many years and people just done understand especially customers and employees great way to get it out. love the videos just found you and have been watching a few on my “ down time”.
Enjoying all your videos from Lethbridge Alberta Canada. My son at 12 and I enjoy all the different content of the business. We still waiting for man behind the scenes to come back . Keep up the videos.
The pauses during cleanup when you are on the phone are hilarious. Good day today. The ending addition of the wall braces was cool. I do like the video content and it is always entertaining. Thanks for what you do.
I could be wrong.... Yet, Every time I watch Dirt Perfect and Captain Kleeman working together you can see a pure friendship. Their laugher is 100% real because of their bond. I am wrong Dirt Perfect or Captain Kleeman ?
You di a great job. Considering your work load mike and for myself i appreciate your effort. Keep em coming and i will keep watching them. Be safe and god bless you the wife and the kiddoes
👍My B.I.L. has a desk sign that says A business owner is a person that works 18 hours a day to avoid working 8 hours a day for somebody else. Thanks for the vid.
Good video, thanks. Yea, I worked for a company that lined trenches and catch basins and such for new (or old) buildings and ponds sometimes with polyethylene and propylene for catching fluids and such in case of spills. They charged $850.00 per truck loadup before it ever left the shop. That was 25 years ago.
Captain only got stuck due to Mike getting him to back up too far into the field!!!!! (Let's not mention the lowboy repair though lol !!!!!!!!!!!!!) Maybe that is 1 goal each ---- a draw!!! lol Interesting to hear your thoughts Mike on being a self employed businessman. As you say many people think it is a great life with rich rewards, but I know how hard business folk have to work and the long hours that come with the job. For my sins I had a number of contractors as customers when I worked in finance - some very good, some not so much but they all worked extremely long hard hours. Good luck to you, your family and the team behind you. Cheers
Great video! As a self employed guy myself I can relate. I like to hear other business owners perspective on the pro and cons of being self employed. Keep up the great content!
thanks for all you do to show us the work you do . i know i did in my life build log homes from clearing the drive way digging the base ment well the hole nine yards when we left the site the owner was able to move in . i it was start to finish job . again thanks for hard work bringing us this world i do like watching them/
What, no local news coverage and gold shovel to break ground on that H.H. pad. You guys really do love in small townville. Awesome job Y'all. It's awesome that chapter is headed by a Pastor.
I own/run a boat building shop and have never liked working for people. But man. I could def dig working for/with you. It seems like you just make the best out of everything possible.
Great video. So how many times is captain gonna mess something up. Lol lol it happens and I just needed to give some crap. Thanks mike for this video. I think the way ur doing ur uploads and down loads and balancing the family and business seems to be a great way. Thank u big time.
I.ENJOYED WATCHING THE VIDEO DIRT. PERFECT❤😊

Ethan, you're just one vowel away from the hero of Vermont! 8-)) LOL
@@BobPegram LOL, my dad thought he was being clever when he named me. At least you didn't say anything about the furniture store 😬

Is that 1 2 by 8 the only thing holding up the trailer deck over your head? How easy you it be to kick it out? Is it clamped in place at the top?
With 30 years of general contracting behind me, I'd say you nailed it. I enjoy your videos. They let me on the job sites without worrying about the liability of the outcome.
It's nice to see behind the scenes and behind the camera. Thanks for the time you put in to taking us along.
And your good at what you do . You care about how thing look and you take pride in what you do that's important
Nice video, Mike. Lovely to see the other side of your life for a change; puts a whole different perspective on things. Well done, you!
Thanks appreciate that

The fabrication videos are the best Mike. Both you and Aron are excellent working together.
Thanks
So being from UK and nosey I had to look for you on a map. I never realised Southern Indiana was so close to the North Pole and SANTA CLAUS!!
lol yup working there a lot
Thundering along like a turd of hurdles. Typical morning chaos. 😂
I think you are the only channel for 30 minutes. I watched this hole video. I enjoy your personality. Thanks for putting great content.
Thanks Justin appreciate that
Busy day. Cleaning up gets things put back, so they can be found, when needed. Relax time bowling with friends. Priceless.
Thanks
A lot of people don’t realize how important a clean shop is. Your tools are only good if you know where they are when you need them.👍
I enjoy all the videos that you post,I learn different things
Referring to the 4WD button as the “I made a bad decision button” LOL that was classic!
😁

The Captain makes your videos so entertaining.

Yup
Stay tuned
When it comes to hauling foam insulation those corner protectors are the best. I use to use those for shingles and foam roof insulation all the time
👍
Real nice to see the Captain using an electric lead light. Battery ones are always needing to be charged and flat when you need them.
Great video! As a self employed guy myself I can relate. I like to hear other business owners perspective on the pro and cons of being self employed. Keep up the great content!
