Hey guys, the mk5 gti is a great choice! It's held as one of the best generations of gti. it's practical, quick, cheap and reliable. And it's very cheap to make it fast, it reacts to mods very positively.
Also an Mk5 owner here, every issue I've ever had has been all the predictable issues you can expect from a high mileage gti. None of it has costed me over 1 grand in repair cost. Cheap, reliable and quick as all hell. And even cheaper to beautify it to exactly what you want. If you cant get a nice Civic EK Hatch then get a vw gti mk5. You'll have just as much fun!
Subaru SVX is really easy to find under 5K , featuring a Flat 6 engine that pushes more hp than a stock BRZ. the car is pretty in every angle and shines at car meets , i found a good example for 3,3K
If you're interested in a reliable sports car I'd recommend a infinity g35/g37 same frame motor transmission as a 350z/370z and usually a few k cheaper then the same year z. I own a 06 g35 coupe fast fun reliable my daily out here the the California part of the Mojave desert been 2 years since the last major motor repair was a water pump
I liked and subbed on the first car. Literally The MR2 is a great car for fun, but yes they’re challenging. Literally knew the rest of the video would be top tier!
Finally, a video that doesn't just spit out the same five cars. Although, how do people find the cheap cars, other than the very rare one-offs that are like 200k miles and probably has been in a accident.
I am glad that for the content that you are sharing because i find it very informative. Also,it is good that you have alot of ideas because that is a sure way of keeping the channel flowing and growing
im watching this as an australian and ive just found out i can literally import my dream fucking car from america and it would still be cheaper than buying it locally
For my first car I'm getting my mom's 2013 Camry se. I can't wait it's a fantastic first car. My next car (after the camry) will have a v8 in it but for a first car the camry is amazing.
I would like to point out the fact that vw Jetta 1995 glx are only about 1100, yes, they may have front wheel drive, but they are manual with 172 horsepower, its light and the stock engine sounds incredible.
Video idea: do the same video but do a series where you make one video for a country so for example one video about Norway and one video for germany ect.
The is300 does come with that famous 2jz engine, but however it’s the GE version that can’t handle all that added hp. boost is the easiest way to blown it up, those thin connecting rods can’t handle it
older bmws are much more reliable than newer bmws for sure. also, no hate, id suggest getting a higher quality mic like a blue snowball. those are a decent price
Dont know if you mentioned this in another video as this your first video ive watched Lexus sc400 and sc300 are also really cheap, you get a choice between a v8 and an i6 and theyre only on the come up now. I got my 1uz model for 3500 and im picking up my 2jz model on thursday for 2k, they also have the same chassis as a supra for what thats worth Love the video man, and i hope new car enthusiasts can pick one of these cars up before they get expensive
Question: Im 3 month away from getting my license and I’m really trying to get into building cars or just knowing about cars in general. But is it worth it getting a car with a lot of miles if I can get it for a decent price? Maybe 100k+ or 150k+ miles on it. I’ve been saving and I have a budget around 10-15k. Thanks a lot!
Always reserach a car if you’re going to buy high mileage. Lots of cars have common issues that usually show up at 100k+. And make sure it is something reliabe. I bought a g37 with 130k and the csc failed in the first month of owning. Also, I recommend waiting until next year to buy a car since prices are still high.
really depends, if you have another relaible vehicle you have access to and can drive, yes. ive learned the problem isn't always if it is a reliable car, more so the number of owners and how each person treated it. for new car people i recommend getting something very daily drivable to lightly modify and just save for a more fun project car down the line. Getting a newer car with basic stuff is better than getting a shitbox you have to keep fixing. I have a fiesta st for that exact reason. if you already have that daily driver, go for a project but you spend instead maybe 3k buying and 10k in mods, upgrades and maintenance.
Srsly tho just cuz autotempest has like 1 car at that price point doesn't make it less than 5k. These are cool picks but Jesus like none of these can be had for less than 5k unless we're talking a rolling shell.
hahha a friend of mine had a 260z project car and drove it to school once every month. it looked an sounded amazing but it broke down 80% of the time at school
The 2jz in the is300 is not the same motor in the supra. Only the Supra has the 2jzGTE. that motor will get you that 1,000 HP because it was over engineered. The one in the is300 is only a GE. this motor is also found in non turbo models of Supra, which means not all Supra are created equal but good luck fighting against the hype in 2022.

Thanks for the backup man, always nice to get a 2nd opinion
on my 2nd year owning my mk5 gti. As long as basic maintenance is done, cam follower, oil change. The cars great

Video idea: top five cars under 10k but searching it in every state. Prices are wild in some areas
👍
👍🏼
That would take an incredible amount of time but I can make it happen lol
so FL first?
@@markroden do it, i dare you

You should make a video like this for cities like nyc where cars are usually more expensive
Haha I set my marker to nyc actually most of these cars are from or around there!
Finally, a video that doesn't just spit out the same five cars.
Although, how do people find the cheap cars, other than the very rare one-offs that are like 200k miles and probably has been in a accident.
my first car was a 1986 toyota supra, got it for a little under $1k 100% a great choice for a project car!
Hey mark, don’t pressure or overwork yourself tryna post everyday. Your health is important. Great video btw!
Thank you man! I’m more happy now than I’ve ever been so don’t worry I will get them out there for you guys 🤍🤍
I am glad that for the content that you are sharing because i find it very informative. Also,it is good that you have alot of ideas because that is a sure way of keeping the channel flowing and growing

None of these are under 5k where I live but still great video, you argued well why they're good cars

E36 was the best on this list ngl
E36 is great I had a 328 and then got an e46 330 which I think is even better
The Celica is so underrated!!
You should do a video about sick cars with popup headlights bc who doesn't love them?
Video idea: do the same video but do a series where you make one video for a country so for example one video about Norway and one video for germany ect.

Yep, of course the mr2 mk1 is first on the list; Right where it deserves.
Just bought my g35 coupe few weeks ago well worth the money and super reliable no engine lights or nun
older bmws are much more reliable than newer bmws for sure. also, no hate, id suggest getting a higher quality mic like a blue snowball. those are a decent price
I think my phone is broken I can't hear anything
Wait I fixed it 💪, if I wasn't able to fix it I would die I love your vids

Depends on what your plans for the car would be
Only if it’s a reliable car that wasn’t pushed to its limits
Always reserach a car if you’re going to buy high mileage. Lots of cars have common issues that usually show up at 100k+. And make sure it is something reliabe. Bro the Mr2 has the 4age! Not just any old little 4cyl. Very easy to make reliable power from.
Give the Nissan Altima ser sum LOVE, same stock hp as the “bronze” mustang😢 and plenty power potential with the same motor in the g35 and 350z
Love the vids keep it up
