    I own a Gen.1 Striker which i use for 3D archery. It has shot a lot of arrows over the past two years. After trying several arrow rests, i use a Fivics magnetic flipper rest (original intended for Olympic recurves) with a plunger. Perfect and easy setup! My bow is setup for 40 lbs @29". Arrow speed is around 193fps @ 9,8gn/lbs. I replaced the original cable guide against a better one with rollers and bearings, because it was constantly eating away my cables. Obviously this made new cables and strings necessary. I made some custom BCY 452X cables + string with Monkey Tail dampers on the cables and whool puffs in the string. I shoot this bow without stabilizers, because i find them annoying walking around in the woods. I added a 350 gram bare bow weight instead of a stabilizer, for better balance. This bow may not be faster than my Recurve with Uukha limbs, but it's definitely a lot more fun. It's also the quietest bow I've ever shot. Absolute no vibrations after the shot.

      Try using a cajun arrow rest from bowfishing. They are great!

    This is one of the reasons I like your channel and watch all your videos is stuff like this. I wouldn’t never see this bow around where I live but I tune into a video from Australia when I get up at 5am and see something different.

    I wish to see the crono speeds on this bow from a 50 lb bow. The 325 grain arrows as well a 500 grain arrow??

    i owned a discovery back in the day and to be honest it was a novelty but the concept was excellent. For me the attraction was the simplicity of it. I could take it completely apart with a pair of strings and a set of Allen wrenches. The real weak point was it had split limbs on the inner set and they tended to twist towards the cable guard. This seems to be an improvement but I feel the lack of serious weight keeps this a novelty.

    That NEW design is not new. I gave that design to Wil Allen in 1967. He went with wheels on the limb tips.
    There are several other designs like that. I made a couple in Michigan in 1967. Muz,,...zy has one that they flubbed. There was the Discovery, etc.

    I hope you read this, I shot a new Peter coin personally. The original Oneida eagle man. As far as the bow you have in your hand. Yes it is a K cam bow. But the additional things they put on it probably aren't the best way to go. I still have to Oneida bows. They both shoot very good

    I'd see this in the market as an alternative to a recurve or longbow that has non laminated glued limbs. The RPM striker had the option of composite string limbs so to be more durable and reliable in the field. I'v had traditional wood limbs delaminate or the mycarta tip glue let go, when that happens the string breaks. You can shoot it like a trad bow or all the bells and whistles of a compound!!! I believe the RPM STRIKER pound for pound would shoot faster than a trad bow!!

    RPM is coming out with a new Striker at the end of the month. The riser should match their new Nitro XX riser; not sure what improvements they made to the new one. I guess we will find out in ~ 3 weeks.

    Don't take this for bashing although that bow is a new bow it is such old technology and as well a very slow compared to other compound bows. The company has been bought and sold off so many times I first seen them around the late 80's they were called i believe Screaming Eagle.

    Question: I unscrewed my limb bolts from 60 to 50 lbs for a friend to shoot on my base bowmadness 30 when I tightened them back up it felt like it slipped or skipped thread should I let it back down and check the bolt before I put new strings on or nothing to worry about?

  • @aqeel77za

    Do you think its possible to adjust the cable guard to make way for a whisker or drop away arrow rest?

    • @stephenwallace2423
      @stephenwallace2423 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Looks like there are two locking screws in the riser's arrow cutout. I would presume that loosening these would allow the cable guide rod to be rotated away from the riser. However, that would alter clearance, change cable tension, etc. As has been stated, RPM are bow fishing specialists, and they have set up the bow for best cable position and clearance with a simple bow fishing rest. As these are often very similar to the rest Steve used in the video - basically just a bolt a very simple support arm on the end - the guide rod position used doesn't get in the way for the intended use of the bow.

Bow still shoots fine but sqeaking sounds when drawing :( pretty much I have it cuz its a cool bow ( im an arrow fan )

      You may get a click or snap when you hit full draw too. What’s going on is that the saddle bolts (1/4” ones) may develop a little play on the Oder of say a thousandths of an inch. Take your small Allen wrench and tighten up. That’s takes care of the snap.
