It depends on the day. I have a green recurve coming up and I want to do a video on kid having a problem, then one of when I went to the US and had dinner at the Shepleys. Im going to shoot an indoor round with cheap arrows. I have to compare the big bows and how they shoot and I have never compared broadheads. So much and so little time. Thank you

It is kinda sad but cool at the same time. To think my dad would have sold this bow. My dad would have been hunting with him. I have lost many archers all would have had such a strong passion for the sport. To see this bow so rare and in amazing condition. I tell you this draw is great, It is silent. It is the best Oneida I have ever shot. Then they dropped the design. I would love some of my Dads bows, but none have come it yet. It is one of the best parts when these old bows come in.
I remember the first Oneida Eagles when they were made in Syracuse NY, an hour from my house. What killed the company was the Strike Eagle, the limbs kept going out of alignment. When they first came out, the owners came to a huge Archery Shoot we had and the local Archery Shop help put on. The owner of the shop was shooting a new Strike Eagle (one of the first) and to correct the bottom inboard limb, the owner smacked it back in place with a rubber mallet. Well everyone saw this and laughed them out of the building. They (the owners) were so embarrassed that they packed up and left. You see it was bad enough that everyone saw them smacking the bow with the big rubber mallet, but the bow went out of alignment again after a round of shooting and it had to be done again. That was a drawback of the bow, which was great other than that, but killed the then company.
Oh my yes We had a big rubber mallet back in the day too. It was my first trip to the US at age 22 I guess. I went to see the the owners in Syacuse. They took me around and showed me some local shops. I went to this one gun store nothing was locked up no bars on the windows. I said dont you get break ins. He looked at me all wierd and said there is no crime here. He said there are 4 guns per person in the State. I stayed in this small town, huge American Flag on river, an old lady looked after this small motel cooked eggs. But went there discussed my problems with getting stock they gave me a rejected custom Oneida. All my issues were fixed never had a problem again until the company was sold. Then problems again. I remember my dad hitting peoples bow with that mallet so funny now looking back on it.
Wow. Very cool. The bow is stunning. Very unfortunate to hear about the young man that owned this bow before you, but you're absolutely right. The bow lives on with the archer, and it's a wonderful thing. If you choose to sell it, I can only hope the next archer treats it with the same respect.
just procured myself a rebuilt, fully enhanced and updated Oneida Extreme, left handed, from the States and having it shipped here to Aus. I think it's probably the only of its kind here! But thats not why I got it - had a Strike Eagle not too long ago and loved it to bits but it was just a bit too dated and dodgy, being 30+ full years old. Seeing these things shoot, hearing your review, I'm so happy to have paid a premium for a possibly one of a kind brother of this bow :D
Love it, my old man and Uncle use to shoot both the Oneida bows and another old bow from Martin called the Dyna bow. Love seeing the old bows in action.
I had that bow, it walked into my shop one day. The man wanted to sell it, I bought it on the spot. It was my hunting bow & everyday shooter. One of the few in my life that went right into my hand & it became a part of me. Sadly I lost it with the rest of my bows when my home was destroyed in a wildfire. I have looked everywhere for one, but never found another. You are very lucky.

Thank you. Bhutan has a big following here. What they do is very interesting. Only one Australian in Canberra shoots it I think. It is very scary to see here. I think the bows are way to powerful for the archers and the technic of the archers here is very scary. I have seen videos of it in Bhutan and much better. I would not imagine you have the damage our guys get here. They seem to love it though. I just feel bad when they blow up new bows.
@@ArcherySuppliesLonsdale I have been shooting fingers for 15 years now and thankfully I have never had any accident. I used to shoot 60-70 but dropped to 50-60 bows since the new bows have better speed even though the poundage is smaller. Always wanted to try an Oneida bow but it is not available here. I hope to shoot one in the future and the bow you are shooting looks better than the Oneida Phoenix. And please making more review videos cause you make great videos.
I just absolutely love those classic bows. Just the pure nostalgia from these bows of the past, as you’ve mentioned, outlives the Archers themselves, and in some ways tells a story of the person that once used them, On top of that, if the bow still shoots the way it use to, then even better yet because it’s a working PEICE of history........kinda like “ living legends “ .......I have two dear friends that use to shoot, as PSE’s pro-staff back in the 80’s, as well as best friends of the founder of PSE, Pete Shepley.......I was fortunate enough to inherit their Mach 5’s that they use to shoot while on their pro competition tours around the world, particularly the one competition they once participated in Australia. I will cherish these bows, as part of my history in the sport of archery.......thanks for sharing Steven......great stuff buddy 🏹🏹🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇵🇭Bless you👍
Yes I think the company was sold after this model though. I think this was the era Pollington brought it? To me it was the best of the bunch. Im not sure why they did not keep the design. Maybe lost in one of the sales and change of designers. The Kestral is cool but I would take this one any day.
@@ArcherySuppliesLonsdale ya the pro was one I saw at an ASA tournament when I was a kid. Staff shooter for Oneida had it. I had a SS Black eagle and he was surprised to see another Oneida user. I always wanted one after that day but they’re not easy to find and have always been extremely expensive. The design was perfect. I believe they costed a fortune to machine though and they likely opted for something easier and cheaper to machine.
the Black Eagle was introduced in 1999 the bow you have is a "Pro Eagle" offered only in SLF & MLF. I can see it has the short cam witch makes it a SLF 27-30.5" & takes 45.5" string. all Pro Eagles came with ESC outboards. The cam mounted draw stop you spoke of was before the 4 cam models. it would have been offered on the Aeroforce, LightForce, Strike eagle, Tomkat3 with the(2 cam) K-cam. it touched the "shark fin" not the riser. The Light Force Magnum was the first machined riser with 2 cams offered after the MR80 witch is very rare(machined Aeroforce). CP Oneida was originally created by Claude Pollington & John Islas in Marion, Michigan although John was from Syracuse, NewYork 1982-2016 although Rodger Loomis owned the company from 1998-2005. Pretty sure the Pro Eagle was offered in 2006 with the introduction of the "Extreme" in 2006. The Pro Eagle was marketed as a "Competition bow".
I have the same bow . Still use it for 3D in the uk . All black with a wooden grip, I still use the original aged 5 pin sight and the over draw rest . Great fun and gets a lot of attention

I had never heard of Oneidas until you mentioned it on the channel in another video. Very, very cool. I don't need one, but your excitement makes me desire one. Quality videos as usual.
I love old archery equipment. My dad got me shooting with a Bear whitetail hunter when they came out. Later I bought a Bear whitetail 2 in left handed because I am. I still have the whitetail 2 and shoot it fairly often but man is it slow, heavy and LOUD compared to my Cruiser G2. Cheers! And thank you Steven for all the great archery videos. My dad started with Bear Tamalones 6 wheel bears. They would hand behind his bar. When you get a really cool bow that Cruzer you will look back on and think oh. Then 20 years later you will look back on it with fond memories.

Very nice video and very nice history around this old lever bow. Around 30 years ago, I went to an archery shop her in Denmark, to buy a hunting bow, because I wanted to take the bowhunting license. I actually saw some leverbows in the shop, but he did not recommend me to buy one. So I got a PSE compound bow. Then 17 years later, I remembered these bows and investigated what kind of bows it was (I didn't know, never saw them before or after), found out and got myself a Monsterbows Phoenix. Awesome bow, camless lever bow. 🙂

I did enjoy your video! Here in central NY where Oneida bows were made they were the rage and everyone had one. But I believe by 30 years ago the Oneida Hay Day was over. I remember wanting a Oneida Eagle 30 years ago. By that time more modern dual cam wheels had taken over.
New owners, I think the old owners killed it off too. I remember waiting hours at the ATA show to meet the owner. At one stage I was the biggest seller of Oneidas in the world. But he had no time. No one on the booth could help. To me it is what America stood for - coming up with cool ideas making them then selling them. Oneida dont have that now. They don't have the passion to design and build. Just part of bigger company now.
Hey Steven I'm not a 100% sure but I think it was the Oneida Eagle. One of my shooting buddies had one when they first came out and we all thought it was the coolest bow ever. When i started shooting 15 years ago, these were pretty common in my club. I once saw a guy shoot a perfect 400 3d round with a bare bow Oneida shooting fingers. Theyre pretry cool if you hunt really remote as you can change a string without needing a press

I would buy it. I had 5 people last night ask to buy that bow. It is so rare. Im not sure what it would be worth. But to someone who wants one it could be any price.
I’ve been shooting a Strike Eagle since about 1991. I hunted and shot 3D competitively for years. I used an overdraw at 70 lbs with 377 grain arrows at 315 fps. A rocket in early 90’s. Got married, had kids bow sat for 15 years. I just replaced all the cables and string, installed a Hamskea limb driven rest, modern sight and went with carbon arrows. Better today than 30 years ago. Very tight. Get one.
Ted Nugent is not a country singer. He’s only the best ROCKER that ever played an electric screaming rock-box (guitar).EVER! He was always cocked, locked, and ready to rock dock! And yah a great Hunter and advocate for hunting. Anyway that’s a sweet bow. I had the Oneida Strike Eagle. Loved that bow. Shot all that old school stuff back in the 80’s-90’s. I’m 56, born in ‘66. That’s the Pro Eagle. Man I shot a lot of deer with that bow. Wish I still had it. Loved this video and thanks for a trip down memory lane.

I use to shot FSL, fingers with compound. All my compounds are from the 1980s, 48 inch axle, small wheels and metal cables, miss those days, had to switch to Olympic recurve to continue with fingers. Love your videos, especially of older bows. Take care.
It is hard today to shoot fingers compound. Back in the day everyone shot fingers compound. I suggest if you want to shoot fingers shoot recurve and you can shoot amazing with recurve. Thank you
It even has the string puffs!! There was a High Country, Indian Archery and Oneida at the same time. Had the chance to buy a ton of used Oneidas over the years but always passed. The look just oozes buy me though.

I had hunted with a '96 Tornado that downed a Cape Buff to brown bear. The riser finally got a hellish crack in it, I swear it was like losing a family member. My boys just stood around "Poor Dad!"..lol
I had an oneida bow a few yrs ago my friend gave it me ,I shot a bowtech at the time but when I shot the oneida it took me back and it was fairly easy to shoot I gave it to uncle which he still has it ,yeah they were the bow that took industry by surprise they were fast and quite and that's all that mattered back in the day
I've been shooting a Hoyt SuperSlam Legacy since 1996. Shoot it fingers with a tab. I've never seen anyone derail a bow shooting fingers. BUT we all shot bows over 43" ATA. And no cams all wheels.
The older Mathews never really came into Australia. All the stores were Hoyt. But yes looking back on the old gear is interesting. I would warn you though I shot my mums Golden Eagle which she won everything with and it is really horrible today. Back then it was amazing.
I'm still shooting a Light Force Magnum from 1997. Still does everything great. I think I paid $840 at the time. I went to the Total archery challenge in the spring and everyone who saw it wanted to talk about it.
I remember wanting a Oneida so bad when they came out in the 80s as a teenager I would go to our local shop and admire them when I stopped by all the while saving money for my first compound. I settled for a Bear Polar LTD because the Oneida was so unattainable for a poor teenager.
To me it's the perfect bow. The look and feel of a recurve. The power of a compound . In fact Parker from Parker bows even preferred this bow to his. This bow is also great for finger shooting.
Its not bad top of my head. I went to the US in 1993 I guess to see Oneida. So I have a few good years with it. Yes by 2001 would be the end of it. Im not sure who the owner was in 2001, it all becomes blury 40 years in the industry - the ATA shows all blur into one. But the people and the bows stick.
2213's those arrows. Easton has brought back the orange alloy. I use to smash those 13 walls. Arrow touches it dented. Carbon arrows today are so good.
Love the old Oneida bows...I was curious if you would be willing to do a review on the SAS Scorpii bow...I love the four that I currently own...I would like to see what you think of the bow and ultimately see how you shoot it... I'm not crazy about the camo version they offer so all the ones I have are the black version...
ACCURATE as a laser!!! You find your most comfortable draw,draw stops create an absolutely most solid wall YOU create. Smoothest draw you’ve ever felt. Adjustable let off,adjustable brace height. They couldn’t create better !?! But most importantly it shoots a heavier arrow faster than most bows. In my opinion yes it is the best compound ever made. Get your release aid and drive tacks Stephen! No brainer!
I know with you it’s just a matter of finding time. Your problem will be getting the sight to sit.side bar technology wasn’t up to what it is today.. that feeling of being on a suspension bridge with that lonely single sting. The forgiveness from length ca really let you play with releasing style.Surprise or force. I’ve willed the arrow for years. I’m 52. The actual best thing of the most accurate bow made is your letoff to poundage ratio. Much like a high speed bow to lessen weight benefit. This is pulling60 feeling like 52 with 58 percent letoff with way way less joint pain because of the draw cycle!And a heavier skinnier arrow for less wind drift? There really is nothing better. It will become efffotless 300 I promise
I came across one of these bad boys for cheap a few years ago in left hand, I still regret not picking it up! hahaha. not sure what I would use it for but they are so friggin cool.
I know someone who would buy a left hand one instantly. It is the problem with old bows you really dont use them, it is more a memory. There are a few people here shooting the very old bows but new bow are a lot better.
I've to say when I began archery '92-93' it was recurve. then when I got alot more into it I got my 1st compound "I've still got it now" a browning 50# from then to now I've literally only just fitted a D-loop, overall I do prefer shooting it via fingers.... my new bow PSE Citation I've gone all out & bought 99% of all the toys of which is enjoyable to shoot but the skill & up-keep of shooting has been made alot easier "despite my recent fatigue issues" Yes similarly I had covid about 8-9wks ago mixed with heavy factory work (engine plant) anyway... side note my 1st "robin proper hood" occurred afew days ago!!! 😎
Well done. customers do them all the time in my store with my arrows. I'm like great there goes another 2 arrows. LOL. Yes the new bows are cool. Im finding recurve a real challenge, i'll swap back to compound shooting shortly and hopefully shoot a 300. They say it will get better with Covid. Im 6-7 weeks now. Strength is comming back, lungs not great, I get fatigued walking. Rubbish stuff. Hope you get will soon.

I was kind of the same "there's another 2 arrows" I've nocked upwards of 15 arrows in recent months & clearly killed these 2 arrows (with these I'm using I'm not fussed about as I'm rebuilding my strength from being away from archery for awhile & like you recently having covid... fatigue really is a bummer, it's still getting to me now) anyway theses were cheap sharrow items "ok to shoot tbf" regarding this bow & other classic items maybe a comparison between old & modern could be good for viewers &maybe aid ppls choices when visiting your store "you don't need the newest shiniest bow to get into & enjoy archery etc" hope your recovery improves more swiftly than mine, (40's wow I'm old)
What about the limbs? As in their integrity after all these years, as it is a pretty old bow. Like I don't shoot my Bear compound any more which I got back in 85. I mean the limbs still look great from years of dragging around the bush hunting but I'm not sure about the fatigue life there, maybe just too paranoid?
The compound bow not the Lever compound from Onida was made in South Dakota or at least the headquarters of the compound division were here and was still being made when I first moved to South Dakota until 2002/2003. The company stopped the compound bow for no reason and the compound division of the company was bought out by Eagle archery that was stopping its compounds for the lever bows only.
We're gonna make some memories for you aint a Buddy that is really cool I really need to hear you say that the phone lives on past the Archer people don't realize how much value some like that has especially if you got it you're able to hand it down to your children you know
The thing is for the family it is not a thing. My dads bows are a thing for me because it is my memory of dad with it. After his death the family traveled up to Yunta to see were he hunted and where he been so much. But I guess the bow is not part of the memory. But for me - it is cool. It is my history of that time.

One of my hunting buddies used this type bow years ago. I remember he was very good at calling in coyotes with sounds he made with his mouth. And he killed deer with it. We would hang home made stands in giant cottonwood trees and screw spikes into the tree to climb on. Safety harnesses weren’t invented then.
I had a customer Mick, Mick drove 5 hours with a broken arm to buy one from me. On his way home he whistled up a fox and shot it with his new bow, broken arm. Sent me a photo. Funny as.
If anybody wants a Compound bow they can finger shoot the only models I can thing of are a Junxing model M183 that I see lots of Asian People shooting with fingers just fine on TH-cam and a slow old 1994-1995 model that SAS also sells, or they get a Gen-X from Genesis. These are about the best bows for finger use, most of the others one can finger draw are either kids very low poundage models or fixed unchangeable poundage bowfishing bows. There is the Barnet Vortex/Blue and black H20 model one could draw with fingers as well, but the model is only for those with 26-27 inch or 66-68.5 cm draw and under as the model is a older kids to young teen model of bow. The Gen-X is similar to the older Genesis Pro with about 90-95% of parts the same and the Barnet has been made since the 2000's in the same design just updating the sight and changing the camo pattern over the years in the newer selling models.

Just the pure nostalgia from these bows of the past, as you’ve mentioned, outlives the Archers themselves, and in some ways tells a story of the person that once used them, On top of that, if the bow still shoots the way it use to, then even better yet because it’s a working PEICE of history........kinda like “ living legends “ .......I have two dear friends that use to shoot, as PSE’s pro-staff back in the 80’s, as well as best friends of the founder of PSE, Pete Shepley.......I was fortunate enough to inherit their Mach 5’s that they use to shoot while on their pro competition tours around the world, particularly the one competition they once participated in Australia. Oneida Pro Eagle. That bow was out well before several other models before the company went out of business.
Yes I think the company was sold after this model though. I think this was the era Pollington brought it? To me it was the best of the bunch. Im not sure why they did not keep the design. Maybe lost in one of the sales and change of designers. The Kestral is cool but I would take this one any day.
@@ArcherySuppliesLonsdale ya the pro was one I saw at an ASA tournament when I was a kid. Staff shooter for Oneida had it. I had a SS Black eagle and he was surprised to see another Oneida user. I always wanted one after that day but they’re not easy to find and have always been extremely expensive. The design was perfect. I believe they costed a fortune to machine though and they likely opted for something easier and cheaper to machine.
the Black Eagle was introduced in 1999 the bow you have is a "Pro Eagle" offered only in SLF & MLF. I can see it has the short cam witch makes it a SLF 27-30.5" & takes 45.5" string. all Pro Eagles came with ESC outboards. The cam mounted draw stop you spoke of was before the 4 cam models. it would have been offered on the Aeroforce, LightForce, Strike eagle, Tomkat3 with the(2 cam) K-cam. it touched the "shark fin" not the riser. The Light Force Magnum was the first machined riser with 2 cams offered after the MR80 witch is very rare(machined Aeroforce). CP Oneida was originally created by Claude Pollington & John Islas in Marion, Michigan although John was from Syracuse, NewYork 1982-2016 although Rodger Loomis owned the company from 1998-2005. Pretty sure the Pro Eagle was offered in 2006 with the introduction of the "Extreme" in 2006. The Pro Eagle was marketed as a "Competition bow".

I had a custom Aeroforce it was metalic green and silver, my staff sold it. Not sure for how much but a sad day. Hopefully one day the bow comes back.

I have the same bow . Still use it for 3D in the uk . All black with a wooden grip, I still use the original

My dad got me shooting with a Bear whitetail hunter when they came out.
Later I bought a Bear whitetail 2 in left handed because I am.
I still have the whitetail 2 and shoot it fairly often but man is it slow, heavy and LOUD compared to my Cruiser G2.

My dad started with Bear Tamalones 6 wheel bears. They would hand behind his bar. When you get a really cool bow that Cruzer you will look back on and think oh. Then 20 years later you will look back on it with fond memories.

Very nice video and very nice history around this old lever bow. Around 30 years ago, I went to an archery shop her in Denmark, to buy a hunting bow, because I wanted to take the bowhunting license. I actually saw some leverbows in the shop, but he did not recommend me to buy one. So I got a PSE compound bow. Then 17 years later, I remembered these bows and investigated what kind of bows it was (I didn't know, never saw them before or after), found out and got myself a Monsterbows Phoenix. Awesome bow, camless lever bow. 🙂

LOL, I remember these as a kid too. Everyone at the hunting club were drawn to it (another guy owned one). Crazy design but they are still going.
I did enjoy your video! Here in central NY where Oneida bows were made they were the rage and everyone had one. But I believe by 30 years ago the Oneida Hay Day was over. I remember wanting a Oneida Eagle 30 years ago. By that time more modern dual cam wheels had taken over.
New owners, I think the old owners killed it off too. I remember waiting hours at the ATA show to meet the owner. At one stage I was the biggest seller of Oneidas in the world. But he had no time. No one on the booth could help. To me it is what America stood for - coming up with cool ideas making them then selling them. Oneida dont have that now. They don't have the passion to design and build. Just part of bigger company now.
Hey Steven I'm not a 100% sure but I think it was the Oneida Eagle. One of my shooting buddies had one when they first came out and we all thought it was the coolest bow ever. When i started shooting 15 years ago, these were pretty common in my club. I once saw a guy shoot a perfect 400 3d round with a bare bow Oneida shooting fingers.

I’ve been shooting a Strike Eagle since about 1991. I hunted and shot 3D competitively for years. I used an overdraw at 70 lbs with 377 grain arrows at 315 fps. A rocket in early 90’s. Got married, had kids bow sat for 15 years. I just replaced all the cables and string, installed a Hamskea limb driven rest, modern sight and went with carbon arrows. Better today than 30 years ago. Very tight. Get one.
Ted Nugent is not a country singer. He’s only the best ROCKER that ever played an electric screaming rock-box (guitar).EVER! He was always cocked, locked, and ready to rock dock! And yah a great Hunter and advocate for hunting. Anyway that’s a sweet bow. I had the Oneida Strike Eagle. Loved that bow. Shot all that old school stuff back in the 80’s-90’s. I’m 56, born in ‘66. That’s the Pro Eagle. Man I shot a lot of deer with that bow. Wish I still had it. Loved this video and thanks for a trip down memory lane.

I use to shot FSL, fingers with compound. All my compounds are from the 1980s, 48 inch axle, small wheels and metal cables, miss those days, had to switch to Olympic recurve to continue with fingers. Love your videos, especially of older bows. Take care.
It is hard today to shoot fingers compound. Back in the day everyone shot fingers compound. I suggest if you want to shoot fingers shoot recurve and you can shoot amazing with recurve. Thank you
It even has the string puffs!! There was a High Country, Indian Archery and Oneida at the same time. Had the chance to buy a ton of used Oneidas over the years but always passed. The look just oozes buy me though.

High Country was a good brand back in the day. I had one where the paint changed colour in the light.

I had hunted with a '96 Tornado that downed a Cape Buff to brown bear. The riser finally got a hellish crack in it, I swear it was like losing a family member. My boys just stood around "Poor Dad!"..lol

I had an oneida bow a few yrs ago my friend gave it me ,I shot a bowtech at the time but when I shot the oneida it took me back and it was fairly easy to shoot I gave it to uncle which he still has it ,yeah they were the bow that took industry by surprise they were fast and quite and that's all that mattered back in the day
I've been shooting a Hoyt SuperSlam Legacy since 1996. Shoot it fingers with a tab. I've never seen anyone derail a bow shooting fingers. BUT we all shot bows over 43" ATA. And no cams all wheels.
The limbs remind me of my first bow, Mathews SQ2. I shot incredibly well with that bow, wish I kept it.
The older Mathews never really came into Australia. All the stores were Hoyt. But yes looking back on the old gear is interesting. I would warn you though I shot my mums Golden Eagle which she won everything with and it is really horrible today. Back then it was amazing.

I'm still shooting a Light Force Magnum from 1997. Still does everything great. I think I paid $840 at the time. I went to the Total archery challenge in the spring and everyone who saw it wanted to talk about it.
This bow has a modern descendant. It's called the Pro2G from GString Bow Strings.
I remember wanting a Oneida so bad when they came out in the 80s as a teenager I would go to our local shop and admire them when I stopped by all the while saving money for my first compound. I settled for a Bear Polar LTD because the Oneida was so unattainable for a poor teenager.
I was managing a archery shop in the mid 80 and I sold the Oneida bows line

Its not bad top of my head. I went to the US in 1993 I guess to see Oneida. So I have a few good years with it. Yes by 2001 would be the end of it. Im not sure who the owner was in 2001, it all becomes blury 40 years in the industry - the ATA shows all blur into one. But the people and the bows stick.

2213's those arrows. Easton has brought back the orange alloy. I use to smash those 13 walls. Arrow touches it dented. Carbon arrows today are so good.
Love the old Oneida bows...I was curious if you would be willing to do a review on the SAS Scorpii bow...I love the four that I currently own...I would like to see what you think of the bow and ultimately see how you shoot it... I'm not crazy about the camo version they offer so all the ones I have are the black version...
ACCURATE as a laser!!! You find your most comfortable draw,draw stops create an absolutely most solid wall YOU create. Smoothest draw you’ve ever felt. Adjustable let off,adjustable brace height. They couldn’t create better !?! But most importantly it shoots a heavier arrow faster than most bows. In my opinion yes it is the best compound ever made. Get your release aid and drive tacks Stephen! No brainer!

I know with you it’s just a matter of finding time. Your problem will be getting the sight to sit.side bar technology wasn’t up to what it is today.. that feeling of being on a suspension bridge with that lonely single sting. The forgiveness from length ca really let you play with releasing style.Surprise or force. I’ve willed the arrow for years. I’m 52. The actual best thing of the most accurate bow made is your letoff to poundage ratio. Much like a high speed bow to lessen weight benefit. This is pulling60 feeling like 52 with 58 percent letoff with way way less joint pain because of the draw cycle!And a heavier skinnier arrow for less wind drift? There really is nothing better. It will become efffotless 300 I promise

I know someone who would buy a left hand one instantly. It is the problem with old bows you really dont use them, it is more a memory. There are a few people here shooting the very old bows but new bow are a lot better.

I've to say when I began archery '92-93' it was recurve. then when I got alot more into it I got my 1st compound "I've still got it now" a browning 50# from then to now I've literally only just fitted a D-loop, overall I do prefer shooting it via fingers.... my new bow PSE Citation I've gone all out & bought 99% of all the toys of which is enjoyable to shoot but the skill & up-keep of shooting has been made alot easier "despite my recent fatigue issues" Yes similarly I had covid about 8-9wks ago mixed with heavy factory work (engine plant)
anyway... side note my 1st "robin proper hood" occurred afew days ago!!! 😎
Well done. customers do them all the time in my store with my arrows. I'm like great there goes another 2 arrows. LOL. Yes the new bows are cool. Im finding recurve a real challenge, i'll swap back to compound shooting shortly and hopefully shoot a 300. They say it will get better with Covid. Im 6-7 weeks now. Strength is comming back, lungs not great, I get fatigued walking. Rubbish stuff. Hope you get will soon.

I was kind of the same "there's another 2 arrows" I've nocked upwards of 15 arrows in recent months & clearly killed these 2 arrows (with these I'm using I'm not fussed about as I'm rebuilding my strength from being away from archery for awhile & like you recently having covid... fatigue really is a bummer, it's still getting to me now) anyway theses were cheap sharrow items "ok to shoot tbf"
regarding this bow & other classic items maybe a comparison between old & modern could be good for viewers &maybe aid ppls choices when visiting your store "you don't need the newest shiniest bow to get into & enjoy archery etc"

What about the limbs? As in their integrity after all these years, as it is a pretty old bow. Like I don't shoot my Bear compound any more which I got back in 85. I mean the limbs still look great from years of dragging around the bush hunting but I'm not sure about the fatigue life there, maybe just too paranoid?

The compound bow not the Lever compound from Onida was made in South Dakota or at least the headquarters of the compound division were here and was still being made when I first moved to South Dakota until 2002/2003. The company stopped the compound bow for no reason and the compound division of the company was bought out by Eagle archery that was stopping its compounds for the lever bows only.

The thing is for the family it is not a thing. My dads bows are a thing for me because it is my memory of dad with it. After his death the family traveled up to Yunta to see were he hunted and where he been so much. But I guess the bow is not part of the memory. But for me - it is cool. It is my history of that time.

One of my hunting buddies used this type bow years ago. I remember he was very good at calling in coyotes with sounds he made with his mouth. And he killed deer with it. We would hang home made stands in giant cottonwood trees and screw spikes into the tree to climb on. Safety harnesses weren’t invented then.
I had a customer Mick, Mick drove 5 hours with a broken arm to buy one from me. On his way home he whistled up a fox and shot it with his new bow, broken arm. Sent me a photo. Funny as.

If anybody wants a Compound bow they can finger shoot the only models I can thing of are a Junxing model M183 that I see lots of Asian People shooting with fingers just fine on TH-cam and a slow old 1994-1995 model that SAS also sells, or they get a Gen-X from Genesis. These are about the best bows for finger use, most of the others one can finger draw are either kids very low poundage models or fixed unchangeable poundage bowfishing bows. There is the Barnet Vortex/Blue and black H20 model one could draw with fingers as well, but the model is only for those with 26-27 inch or 66-68.5 cm draw and under as the model is a older kids to young teen model of bow. The Gen-X is similar to the older Genesis Pro with about 90-95% of parts the same and the Barnet has been made since the 2000's in the same design just updating the sight and changing the camo pattern over the years in the newer selling models.
