Just fixed a '43 2N. Simple issue, the plunger starter solenoid died. Original, so it was due. Replaced solenoid to Starter wire for giggles. They keep on runn'n. Optional Running Boards on both tractors.
Oh really? They are common around here! I guess we are lucky that way! :) but yes they are quite the little tractor that’s for sure! If you come across one for a decent price I recommend getting it for sure 😊
I'm from central Kansas, and they are very common around here. I just sold my old Ford 9n tractor just over 2 months ago. I have a short video of it and the attachments I sold with it on my TH-cam channel. I do know there is a guy in Newton Kansas who sells old antique tractors, including the 2, 9, and 8N Fords called Crazy D Equipment.
@@willems3acrefarmsteadya I just watched it lol you had some cool old equipment with it too but I see you upgraded to the John Deere. Those old for tractors are good little machines but sometimes you need something bigger and the front loader bucket is nice to have around too! Man if I lived closer I would like to check out that tractor place, I would love to find a 2n with the steel wheels on it :p
@4Dan21 Yeah, the loader on the new tractor has been a game changer for me. I got a grapple, pallet forks, and a tooth bar for the bucket. I kept from the old tractor a 6ft blade and a 6.5 ft disc to still use for a garden, and what's left of my orchard thanks to the drought we have been in the last few years. You can see what he has for sale on his TH-cam channel @Crazy D Equipment. He does a lot of old abandoned farmstead clean up for scrap metal and finds these old tractors gets them running and puts them up for sale.
so i was looking at you mudding on these and i thought waht if you put some grazy flotation tires on one of them like sherp style so it would floar its not very heavy so it would be doable i think
@@4Dan21 I could put duals on but they are expensive and finicky in forest also that would mean 2 small tires instead of one 34 inch wide tire on each side that tractor weighs about 3500 kg about 7000 lbs so not much those floaters might hurt more than help I think would love to get a loader trailer for it some day but they got way too much also if you wondered I'm 20 years old and now own 3 cars and a tractor with a brand new grapple on the back and I love it so far
Looks like fun, where are your farmers located Dan? Just wondering brother! Thanks for sharing Dan and Victor, Kirk from Louisiana sending prayers and good vibes!🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Great video!!
I have a 1952 8n with a lord front loader, I’m new to the ford tractor family, great machine. I also own a 1948 farmall cub as well 👍🇺🇸

@@theresahoffman8408 nice! Keep the old machines alive! 😊
The radius rods on a 2n are round and radius rods on 9n are I beams the 9n came first
your right its a nine n if it has 4 gears then a 8n
You need to use the independant brakes to work the traction.
Ya I would… but the breaks don’t really work lol 😂
I just love those 8n tractor and would like to own one but here in southern Indiana the are hard to find

That is a very cool idea! I may have to look into that lol
@@4Dan21 I was thinking about putting some big tires onto my MTZ 50 that I skid logs with just to avoid sinking
@@karl-egertdaskov6217 that probably wouldn’t hurt, unless you can find a way to get duals on it lol that would be cool to see :p

Hey man! I’m in eastern Ontario Canada 😊 thanks for the good vibes!
2N serial numbers also say 9N, chances are it's probably a 2n. Also not all of them came with steel wheels, it was only i think 43-45
Ohh good to know! I would love to find a 2n with steel wheels around here :p. Thanks 😊
