Me and a buddy traverse many miles having similar conversations along our way. The only difference is we chase down vintage motorcycles. Men are men... well, mostly!

It definitely doesn’t take long to get money tied up but then you have something nice afterwards!

It looks to have the front mounted distributor. In mid 1950, Ford moved the distributor to the right side and I can see the alternator in that area where a side mounted distributor would be. So this 8N would be 1947 to mid 1950, unless the engine was replaced with one from an older tractor. The serial number is on the left side of the engine so if the engine has been replaced, the serial number will be based on the engine.
    BTW, nice trailer.

Thanks for the info! And that trailer has helped haul A LOT of equipment for us!

It seems to be a little hard to start up but I like those tractors

That's the tractor I learned to drive on. I was about 10 years old 1955.

Wow! Definitely simpler tractors back then!

Nice 8N, what year is it? Very nicely restored. There are times I miss my 8. Looking forward to seeing more of this last N series tractor

@@shaffershomesteadI'm betting it's newer than 48. The early 8n's didn't have the shifter threaded for the black bakelite knob. They started with that shifter and dash with the proofmeter in it 1950.
