Mike, I was a plastic extrusion engineer/automotive Design engineer for over 20 years in Detroit. I did the 1996 Dodge Ram extruded FOAM body side mouldilng. Everything he showed you is the correct method for a Gas filled extrusion process. Note: gas is injection is done in the melting phase. (plastic pelts are going from a solid to melted state) It also, stops the gas inside compression Zone from going backwards. The screw is design to keep building up pressure until it goes into the "Cross head tooling" which is coating the making coax. Great Video can wait to see the complete coax making process.
This is why they have top notch coaxial cable
Having a mechanical engineering background, I love this sort of stuff. Drawing, extruding, quenching... cool! That is a rock solid process, and I'm going to look into their coax.
Fun to see - thank you! I worked in a cable extrusion plant for many years producing various coaxial cables for test and measurement and military/aerospace industries. The equipment in this video is very much the same as we used...a trip down memory lane!
Great video Mike thanks to Messi & Paoloni for the Factory tour.
All my cables are from Messi & Paoloni. Great cables. Great video.
You are a smart ham!
Thanks for the discount code! Awesome peek inside a fantastic company and product manufacturing!
My pleasure. Thanks for watching.
This is amazing, a lot of steps, a lot of checks, a lot of tolerance measurement in each step. Great video Mike!
And this is just one step!
That is seriously good CG bro. I almost believed you were really there.
Fascinating. Thank you for making and sharing.
I can’t wait to see how they do the foil.
I worked making copper tubing for 18 years. Drawing and working metal is interesting, but the braiding machines are crazy cool. Great videos Mike!
Thanks. Still more to come!
Wow, that's a lot of attention to detail and perfection going on! I had to smile when the air dryer was shown, and there were the two Scotch-Brite kitchen sponges folded over and wired in place, to wipe off excess moisture? Looking forward to part 2, thanks Mike, for these great videos. 73 KN6VMK
Sometimes its the little things isn't it?
Absolutely fascinating, thank you Mike and Stefano!
Amazing. Thank you for such an interesting video of ‘behind the scenes’ 👍🏻 I have been using nothing but their cable for the last 7 years 👍🏻
Wow, I live in Canada and have no local suppliers of anything related to HAM, been eyeing up ordering some M&P coax but was concerned about just buying into TH-cam hype. Really nice to see some of the manufacturing process, looks like we will see more, but they are definitely taking pride in the work being done. Seeing this plus a freaking discount/free shipping code, pretty sure I just got sold on some M&P coax!
Pride doesn't even begin to describe it. It's a passion. I talked with Stefano for 4 days about coax when I was there. He's just a wealth of information. I've got 3 more videos in this series I'll be editing and releasing over the next couple weeks. I thought it best to go over each process individually as opposed to one really long video. You will not be disappointed either. There's a reason I use it.
This is so damned cool. One of these days I'll get to visit Stefano and see it for myself. In the meantime I will enjoy your videos.
Hi Mike,
Very interesting at their process for placing the dielectric on the core. Looking forward to the next installment. Stay safe. 73 WJ3U
8:17 that’s where my kitchen scrubbies went!
Lol!
Very cool to see! Looking forward to the next.
Great video Mike! Very interesting.
💯🎸🎙🎵🤘 fantastic Factory Tour.
Thanks so much! More to come!
That was interesting. Nice to see where my 800$ went last month haha. I am using it on UHF and all I can say is it works great even with a 120 foot run.
Hopefully you get to feeling better.

Lol that's what paid for my ticket out there!
Outstanding video 😊 very interesting
Amazing!
WOW
isn't that cool?
I wanna get one of those Zumbach Metrex A4s for the shack
Cool!
Good work Mike, love to see the process. Thanks!
You bet
Great video ! very interesting, thanks for sharing !
Thanks for watching. Still 3 more videos to come!
Super interesting Mike. Congratulations on what you’re doing. A huge value for the community interested. Do you plan any other portable activation? I’m not far away from you. It could be a ground wave qso!
Did you apply any K8MRD mods to the manufacturing line?
Haha. No. With that kind of perfection I didn't feel the need to intervene.
good video mike, tho the owner is a bit dry, the info is great!
Have a 3 hour lunch with him. You'll prob feel a bit differently lol!
