I think the indoor pool is nice for the first few days. After that, I think a nice community swimming pool is better. The indoor pool is not long enough for laps.
Thanks Paddy for a great video, as i have just turned on the central heating here in the UK i so miss the weather of Thailand, it's also great you are showing houses of quality and of a decent budget as not all of us want cheap. Keep up the good work and please do more home tours.
Some really nice places at those prices... 60k is what I used to rent a penthouse in Bangkok for, it's about on point with the middle place you showed size-wise.
Oh maaaan…. What sheer bloody luxury… my place in Samui was a one bedroom, kitchen and bathroom… but the absolute beauty of Samui, the people, the music scene ( pre Covid) was such a buzz, I only ever went home to sleep, absolutely loved the place and lived very comfortably. Thanks Paddy again mate, you are looking great and healthy Much love from Queensland Australia 🙏🙏
Hey Paddy, I live in Bangkok for 10,000 Baht a month. Let's get real those places are way over-priced unless you are with 6 to 8 other people. Who wants a sauna in Thailand? Realistic properties would be better.
We would love to see some $750 and less per month places please Paddy. We would really appreciate the effort and info. 2-3 bedroom options would be best. Although I have spent several months in Thailand over the years I never looked into places suitable for a family of 4 as I was travelling solo. Love your videos and your ability to present a variety of different kinds of topics related to Thailand travel and life. Sorry for the long comment!
1000$/month i have own house, all food and elektric, internet, etc normal life last 14 year in thailand, not sure need more money live normal lif normal good house and pay all bill and food.
House #1: How's the chlorine smell inside? Who maintains the pool? Any added costs? House #2: Any additional costs? Would take a bit to cool down with those windows! Pool is excellent! Once again, any additional pool costs? No window in 1st floor bedroom - that wouldn't meet Australian building standards - lol! Wow- top floor is amazing - except for the privacy issue - bummer! House #3: That's a whole resort in the one house! Kitchen is magnificent! Outside living room is cool! The pool - wow! Magnificent! Ok, question - on each of the bath tubs or jacuzzi's I've noticed 3 taps - hot, cold and what is the 3rd one for? The views are crazy! Good video, but all of those options are beyond anything I presently need. Could you do a video about cheap options for solo or couple travelers - not the usual stuff but something a little different. There's a challenge for you! (As an aside - if you decide to settle in Samui perhaps Beyond Properties could employ you as their on-line ambassador! 😉)! Cheers!
It's probably a saltwater pool since it's indoors. If it still gives off a smell, then I suppose you could open up the nearby sliding doors that lead to the outside for better air circulation. It's certainly a unique setup...something you don't often see.
So the budgets are for wealthy, wealthier, and wealthiest. Sounds like pre-COVID prices no matter what they say. Well over-priced in this climate. But we love a good gawp ...
Wealthy?! You can barely afford anything decent in most midsized cities in the West for the price of the first apartment each month. Also, most of these places go to travelers or retirees who share an income, making them affordable.
Wealthy? Bro if you can’t afford $800 you shouldn’t be moving to a foreign country where you also have to pay for your health even with international insurance which you probably couldn’t afford anyway… so my advice would be to stay where you are until you can.
As a comparison, I live in the US and pay $938 per month for a 2BR/2BA 900 square foot place. The first place is 2BR/3BA place that is bigger and nicer than mine and cheaper at $830 per month so that is reasonable. The 2nd place is even bigger but under $2,000 for the size isn’t bad. Plus it is huge, a solo traveler or couple would not be staying there. It seems more suited for a large family, multiple couples traveling together, or a large group of friends. The 3rd place yep now that one is for the very wealthy traveling with a large group.
1. Always love real estate tour. It is strangely so comforting and enjoyable!! 2. 1st house with the indoor pool only 27000 a month?!!! Shocking indeed. 😱😱 So inexpensive. Beyond Covid, will the price get higher?
Love these video's of house / apartment tour's! Something me an my family are thinking of so really useful seeing the different range. I actually really liked the first one for the price & very unique with the swimming pool! Would love some more video' like this - cheers Paddy
The best review i have ever seen about koh samui. I love it. Thank you and I hope to see more videos, what I can get with 2-3 bedrooms in 2023 less than 1000 euro. Thanks in advance.
My “fav” of course is the last one (most expensive). It would be great to split it with a friend or two. You really do a great job of describing the places (far better than others trying to do the same on YT). BTW - now in the USA they don’t call them the “master” bedroom anymore but instead the “primary” bedroom for reasons you can imagine. I think the whole thing is so silly and shows how messed up we are trying not to offend anyone. LOL.
It's a bit silly, 'master' just means master of the house, not slave master lol. In Australia I just call them the main bedroom, as primary is also a bit clunky
Hi Paddy, great video. I’d be interested in seeing the extreme cheapest please. Like literally $300 a month maximum, bamboo huts 🛖 or whatever would be interesting. I need to be able to live on about $1200 a month. Thanks mate
Patty how about a budget traveler video. I have many friends living on Samui. They are paying 8000 Baut ( $200 ) and less for rent. Perhaps not on the beach. But nice places.

Really enjoyed those tours. Personally, I could never justify spending more than 50K per month in Thailand regardless of the view, amenities, and location. I know there are plenty of others out there who will so good luck to them. Hope you had a sneaky run on the slide after you turned off the camera.
I think I'd rather get a traditional wooden Thai house on the ground floor with some nice trees/garden and a pool. These are nice but so modern inside that you don't feel like you're in Thailand and really could be anywhere. The last one is amazing of course, although not having the main bedroom at the top with the view is a bit dumb. I would just use the top one.
Patty I would love to see places for 18,000 to25,000 baht. I think there is a lot of at 25,000 budget. I followed you to Samui from Bangkok. Now I want to make Samui my home.
Very enjoyable tour. I'm retiring to Thailand next year, and watch as many of these types of videos as i can. My concern with house #1 would be the potential smell of chlorine (or is it a salt water pool?), plus the humidity generated from the sun's heat inside the unit. Correct me if i'm wrong.
They should cut that swimming pool in half and made it a hot tub. Probably get used more and it would give more space to the already spacious living room
Hey Paddy, great tour of the properties, the 2nd one was pretty cool, but a pity about the privacy, the last one was very nice , thanks for sharing, regards from dreary old England 👍
Hi Paddy, love your videos! I tried to contact them to rent the second property on the video and they are not responding, do you know any other way to contact the house owner? :) thanks

Hey Paddy I really love your videos, and we are more than happy now as we are planning to move to Samui in December, so it's a great guide with lots of information about the island. Just an idea: I'd really much like to watch a video about places you can visit with small kids, things you can do if you have a family. I have a 3-year-old daughter, and I just wanted to know if she could enjoy the island despite the lockdown. Xx
I just said the same you can tell they are rubbish and the prices he always said would never do this type of promo must be getting freebies not bloody cheap
Interesting video, but I think the vast majority of your viewers are more interesting to see house and condo priced somewhat lower than 1000$ a month. Even for me with a net. pension(after Health insurance and tax) at roughly THB 70 000+, a THB 27 000 rent + a hefty electric bill, can be a challenge if I want to eat out in good restaurants every day. Add in the cost of a scooter or a car, and I would rather look for a place at 10-20 000 THB range or cheaper. Because in the tropics, you want to be outdoor on travel, the beach or restaurants and occasionally a pub or a bar visit. And there is where I want to spend my money. Not in a house I normally use as a shower and bedroom.
Nice 👍 video. I think I liked the 2nd one the best. Sure the 3rd one was nicer but it was triple the price of the 2nd one, it wasn’t that much nicer to cost that much more. Sort of strange places with the pool inside, artificial grass, and a bunch of odd/empty spaces. I would like to see you do videos of nice one bedroom places with nice beach views. I don’t need a pool, gym, sauna, or game room in my place. I would like to see a nice one bedroom/one bath place in a nice area, nice view (beach is great but even a nice nature/mountain view works too) with a comfy bed, sofa, and work desk. I live in the U.S. and pay $938 USD per month for a 2 bedroom/2 bath place so would hope to pay under $700 USD per month for a 1 bedroom/1 bath place in Thailand.
I think you'll find that most Thailand viewers are looking to rent in the lower pricing segments Paddy. People retire to Thailand for the value for money primarily.
For about $1,400 a month per person, you and three other friends can rent that lavish suite and enjoy the high life on Koh Samui! 😁 Of course, I'd reserve the room upstairs with the water slide lol. 😅
These places are great! I'm sure that everything is cheaper right now because of Covid's impact on tourism (everyone is desperate to find renters) -- what did these places rent for before the pandemic? That seems like a good way to estimate what they'd rent for after the pandemic.
Hi Paddy.....I'm not a fan of extreme luxury in Thailand but I appreciate you are just trying to keep the channel active so no issue with that and interesting to see these places......But...... I would love to see the opposite side of Thailand.... Visits to the homes/areas that the workers for these sorts of places might live in and what they pay for rents, food, things done for entertainment, etc... i.e. almost the opposite end of society there that are working for the very wealthy... I think it would make an interesting video for contrast.....and maybe for your own sake, experiencing a few days living like them...experiencing what normal Thai working life is like... A day in the life so to speak.... I'd certainly appreciate that....
I would love to see tours for more budget oriented travellers. Like $400-$500 range...
More solo/traveller budget friendly would be great!
Me too.
True those houses are good to see but not realistic for the average person looking to retire or long time stay
Yes nice places going for 300-400€/month would be of more interest.
I agree
I think the indoor pool is nice for the first few days. After that, I think a nice community swimming pool is better. The indoor pool is not long enough for laps.

Immaculate property wow I would love to be on the top floor roof area the pop of yellow room
Hey Paddy- what happened to your video of the boxing match with Tote- haven’t heard from you since the fight. You ok.
Are there blinds for the first one? That would be weird
Awesome properties thks for showing us. Yes would like to see properties that cater for retirees or couple/1 bed apartment please 🙏 😀
These places are great! I'm sure that everything is cheaper right now because of Covid's impact on tourism (everyone is desperate to find renters) -- what did these places rent for before the pandemic? That seems like a good way to estimate what they'd rent for after the pandemic.
Trust me alot higher then Covid prices kind of pointless for those planning on the new year because island prices are hight especially Samui.
The 2nd one is my favorite
Let's see all the price ranges
Cracking episode mate really enjoyed the options you showed, all amazing 👌
Thanks Michael 😀
are these covid prices?
covid time and now after all have lot lot cheapen than before. before 7 million baht house cost now 3 million baht, all have drop lot down.
I'd certainly appreciate that....
yeah that would be really interesting for sure. I'll keep an eye out for a opportunity to cover a topic like that one day
