  • THE RULES:
    1. Discussion is encouraged, but please stay on-topic: If the video is about a particular feature of a device ... discuss that feature, not some other feature you don't like. Off-topic posts may be deleted without notice or recourse, at my sole discretion.
    2. Critical, thoughtful commentary is also encouraged. It doesn't have to be all "happy talk" Bickering and overtly hostile posting will be dealt with quickly ... the delete button and ban-hammer are used when necessary.
    3. This is an amateur effort. Keep that in mind. Comments about how I should have done something differently are not helpful. If you want to show me how to do it better, please link to YOUR videos where you do so.

    Roland is making TH-cam videos about subjects that are explained in the user manual. I guess they cater to Fantom owners who don’t read manuals. You however, are actually making the videos that Roland should be making. Thank you for going above and beyond, and for producing videos for people who have read the user manual and want to get more out of their Fantom. Keep up the good work! Can’t wait for the next video.

    Great, did not realise that was possible! I'll stay tuned for more (hoping for some video's on how to make your own tones too - I am a beginner at that).

    a real eye opener for me: 'We're gonna do those tweaks in the zone offset and save it in the scene, so we won't need to save the tweaked tone as a new tone'

    I'm about to purchase a Fantom 7. I"m glad to hear the Fantom has offset like Jupiter 80 had. Very useful feature.

    Exactly what I wanted. Thanks. Kinda wish Roland just had an option to save all that stuff with the scene when you write it by default. Seems like a pretty big miss.

    Cant wait until you get way down in the weeds. When creating sounds it took me a while (coming from the Integra) to realize what used to be tones are now Partials. Drove me nuts 😬

      First of all: WHERE YOU BEEN?!?
      ALSO: Yeah, Roland has changed terminology about 37.5 times over the past few decades.

    very interesting: so, if you were to start a new scene, and choose that Rubber Bass, it would be the same original sound, not the changed sound, because by using the Offset feature, you are modifying the sound ONLY in that PARTICULAR scene, not in the stored sound of the sound library...correct?

    • @ZTAudio
      @ZTAudio  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      DrGargani you’ve got it perfectly.

      @@ZTAudio well, that obviously is a great feature....with this kind of flexibility, if they can only correct some other shortcomings with this sequencer, this keyboard will really be the bomb...as you have already mentioned in one of your other videos, the 32 measure limitation is pitiful....also, the sequencer should be a 16X16 grid: 16 tracks/zones of 16 patterns, instead of just the 8 patterns for each zone that it currently is. And lastly, all kinds of timings, as well as the ability to insert a timing/tempo change anywhere you want in between, when forming groups into the song format.

      @ZTAudio  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DrGargani I agree. It's really good right now ... hope they go on to make it EPIC!

      @@DrGargani am I the only one who doesnt think the current sequencer is a problem? I think of it as a step sequencer for live use. If I want to record a full sequenced piece... well thats what a DAW is for surly. Im sure they will add something as there seems to be a big cry out for it - but I really dont think its necessary. That said Im looking at it as the centerpiece of a live rig, all played in real time so??

    • @DrGargani
      @DrGargani 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@paulmapp8306 but you see, that operates under the assumption that everyone is going to use a DAW....I don't, and prefer my expensive workstation Keyboard to do that function.....by underpowering the sequencer, they are conceding control to DAWs, almost making them a necessity....If sequencers in Keyboards NEVER had that functionality to begin with, then I could understand, but I have a sequencer in my MOTIF that beggers the one in the Fantom for versatility and completeness, so, it HAS been done......my feeling is that as you improve Keyboards, you shouldn't have to take AWAY technology, rather, keep the same tech, BUT, add on to it making it even better.....the Sequencer in the current Fantom isn't even better than the one in the Fantom G, OR, the one in the FA-08 which I also own........

    Hi Zt! External offset must depend on the midi specification of the receiving synth using the same midi implementation as roland...?

    • @ZTAudio
      @ZTAudio  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, but the CC parameters available as "offsets" are pretty standard defaults. It's not guaranteed that it will work with EVERYTHING, but it will certainly work with a lot of things.

      ZT Audio sweet, mines F6 is coming tomorrow. Up late like a lil kid. Your vids have been great to watch, I’ve never bought something this expensive. I read reviews and took the plunge as I thought you could create entire tracks on it but then found out that no audio recording and the issues that go with that. Why the mic inputs or is this a future add on? I’m just trying to get out of the computer environment and have a creative outlet, as you put it, that is compelling.
