  • From a concert in Greece from 1966. 2 songs from the cycle Mauthausen with Maria Farantouri, Kostas Papadopoulos and Lakis Karnezis on electric guitar and bouzouki and Giannis Didilis on Piano. Also and sadly a very short fragment from Otan Sfigoun to Cheri with Grigoris Bithikotsis.

Acının ve esaretin getirdiği isyan ve cesaret. Kelimelerle sayfalarca anlatılacak olanı sese dönüştürmüş büyük usta..Bir süreliğine de olsa bu besteciyle aynı dönemde yaşadığım için şanslıyım.. karşı kıyıda doğan büyük usta ölmeyeceksin.. Türkiye’den minnetle..

Here you see represented a golden generation of modern Greek artists, musicians, singers, poets, drawing form an era that included world and civil wars, imposed kings, and persecution of beliefs and which forged some modern Greek social conscience.
Where are our musicians and artists and writers now, we need their guidance, much more than we need any barbarians' money.

Well, don't forget, he was supporting the genocide on Kosovars/Bosnians by Serbia. Possibly because he supported another instrument of death : religion? But I can only guess, dunno exactly if he was religious or why he supported genocide. So golden generation? Not that much.

    the official translation:
    ANTONIS
    There on the wide stairs
    the stairs of tears
    in the deep winter grave
    in the quarry of laments.
    Jews and partisans march
    Jews and partisans fall
They carry a boulder on their backs
    The boulder, cross of death.
    There the voice
    The voice,
    the voice Antonis hears
    oh comrade, oh comrade
    Help me climb the stairs.
But there, on the wide stairs
    On the stairs of tears
    This help is an insult
    This mercy, a curse.
The Jew falls on the step
    And the stairs redden
    And you, brave young man,
come here carry a double boulder.
    I can carry a double,
    a triple boulder
    They call me Antonis
And if you're a man, come here
    To the marble threshing-floor.

+Werner Bresching : If there was not German occupation which was followed by a civil war, these songs wouldn't exist and communism wouldn' t be so strong in Greece. Germany was developed and forgot these things. Greece was somehow developed, but didn't forget. This must be taken into account by the German politicians.

    • @wernersammler-hindrichs5106
      @wernersammler-hindrichs5106 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

+Goumas Nick Totally inappropriate and unnecessary. And I doubt Werner Bresching has anything to do with it. Greece could not get its act together for 2000 years, and you could just as inappropriately say, if it weren't for a German royal family and some British, German and French romantics, there would be no Greece. Germans did not cause the Communists. And frankly, some of the Communists were great. Learn your own history instead of being such a xenophobe.

    • @goumasnick5020
      @goumasnick5020 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I didn't say that Germans caused the communism. However during the 2nd word war (which was unecessary), communism spread in Greece and Yogoslavia .In Greece a civil war followed, which damaged completely the already destroyed country. I am not a xenophobe, but I want to stress that we want some help in the present condition.

    • @wernersammler-hindrichs5106
      @wernersammler-hindrichs5106 8 ปีที่แล้ว

And your present condition is what? Greece is broke because of Greece, not because of anyone else. When you have Athonite abbots engaging in real estate fraud and a general unwillingness to pay taxes, this happens.

    La letra en español.
    Que linda es mi amor!
    con su vestido diario
Y un clip en su pelo.
Nadie sabía que era tan linda.
    Chicas de Auschwitz,
    Chicas de Dahaou,
    ¿habéis visto mi amor?
La vimos en un largo viaje,
ella ya no tenía su vestido
    ni clip en su pelo.
    ¡Que linda es mi amor!
    mimada por su madre
y los besos de su hermano
Nadie sabía que era tan linda.
    Chicas de Mauthausen,
    Chicas de Belsen,
    ¿habéis visto mi amor?
La vimos en el patio helado.
con un número en su brazo pálido,
y una estrella amarilla sobre su corazón.
    ¡Que linda es mi amor!
    mimada por su madre
y los besos de su hermano
Nadie sabía que era tan linda.

      Not really.
I found this translation of Asma Asmaton (the Song of Songs), seems pretty accurate:
      Song of Songs
      How beautiful is my love
With her care in her daily dress
And with the comb in her hair.
      No-one knew that she's so beautiful .
      You girls of Auschwitz,
      You Dachau girls,
Have you seen my love, perchance?
We saw her on her long journey.
She no longer wore her dress
Nor her comb in her hair.
      How beautiful is my love,
      Pampered by her loving mother,
      And her brother's kisses.
No-one knew that she's so beautiful.
      You girls of Mathausen,
      You girls of Belsen,
Have you seen my love, perchance?
We saw her standing in the frozen courtyard,
With a number on her white arm,
A yellow star over her heart.
      How beautiful is my love,
      Pampered by her loving mother,
      And her brother's kisses.
No-one knew that she's so beautiful.

The fascists are coming back in Hungaria, in Poland, in Germany...., even in France. My father was deported. It's no more the time of remembrance, it's time to fight, once more time

I totally understand your concern and I share it. It is very shocking, what is going on in Europe and the world. Like there are no history and experiences. At least in France the new President ist not Le Pen. But now Austria has fallen. And the AfD the German Parlament are dangerous too. We can not give up to fight them.
