Glossary:
Mouth of Flowers is a translation of the townland Beal na Blath, where Michael Collins was ambushed and shot.
Padraig Pearse was one of the leader's of the 1916 Rising.
GPO was one of the buildings the Volunteers occupied in 1916.
Ashe was a Sinn Fein member who died on hunger strike.
Go raibh maith agat is Irish for 'Thank You'.

Θεωρώ τον εαυτό μου πολύ τυχερό που ήμουν παρόν. Wow! Discovered this today. I have been attending Theodorakis' first concert in an Athens stadium after those dark years ended at the age of 19 years. I do still remember all those goose bumps felt in that night, although not understanding a single word, because I am a German.

Everytime I listen to this and watch the enthusiasm of the people I cannot help but hold my tears. I am from Turkey and the memories I have from the childhood, the idealism of my parents make me sad when I see this and experience the world we are in now. Where are those people in the video? And how did their lives turn out? I wish I were in the immediate aftermath of this concert shouting out with these beautiful people!

Δεν μπορω να μην δακρυζω καθε φορα που ακουω/βλεπω αυτο το φιλμακι. Ισως γιατι ειχα την τυχη να ημουν εκει μεσα στο σταδιο, φοιτητης τοτε, 3 μηνες μετα που βιωσα το πραξικοπημα και την τουρκικη εισβολη στην Κυπρο. Ηταν πραγματι κατι το εξωπραγματικο και το πληθος υπεροχο.
Στιγμές αξέχαστες για τη γενιά της μεταπολιτευσης... Για τα ανώνυμα παιδιά... Που δεν εξαργύρωσαν τη ψυχή τους... Που νιώθουν πάντα νέοι κυριευμενοι από τη απροσδοριστη ορμή του 1974 1975...
Η Ελλαδα σημερα εβαλε μεσα στην λαμπρη ιστορια της , αλλον εν μεγαλο αγωνιστη , ηρωα και καλιτεχνη Θα μεινει αξεχαστος, . Αντιο Μικη, χωρις δακρια αλλα με θαυμασιες αναμνησεις.Ευχαριστω για την ηθικη βοηθεια σου κατα την διαρκεια της δικτατοριας.

pure pure goosebumps... my father had the chance to meet mikis on his birthday when we were in greece back in like 2008-9! sadly I wasn't there and too young😔
used to listen to this song phaedra and especially state of siege as kid and didn't even know what it was all about, now years later with so many ecperiences and hardships and lots of learning now I finally get it!
