Bro how people say that Akasha is weak? He might have been undefeated before, but he was able to put up an amazing fight until the very end, even making a daring push to capture the enemy HQ and ALMOST succeeded from a deficit. Anyone could have won that match. Yeah Akasha is no longer "immortal man of AWBW", but he's definitely a top player still.
No one (NFL fans, at least) said Tom Brady sucked when the Eagles beat the Patriots. One loss, two losses, or 10 loses. Skill is skill and good is good
A lion need not care for the opinion of sheep. I honestly gave Advanced wars a shot a few months ago and playing some matches just became hard to me. These folks that love the game and play it all the time need not heed the opinion of plebs who have yet to earn the name.
Completely agree, Akasha is definitely an incredibly strong player. Like, the fact that he suffered his first defeat against a 1600 rated player doesn't show weakness, it shows strength. Like, how many people can claim that their first defeat was against one of the best players in the world?
But it does FINALLY prove that VOA is not invincible. And it also proves that Akasha can play with the big boys on an even playing field. That’s a whole lot of discussions finally ending
VoA doesn't play GL frequently so it's pretty irrelevant. What is more important is his tournament wins, which you can see right on his profile. MMR and ranking is not the only metric to use.
@@Mangs1337When you say that, it sounds hard to read it. The repetition of "Voice of Akasha". Also, are they really the voice actor of Akasha in the Advanced Wars remake?

11:50 I think akasha sac'd the anti air for the copter to bring his copter in. Now nothing threatens his copter and it can get value. So its a 1 to 1 trade plus free no counter for his copter in the area.
I really hope to see more naval battles as we never get to see PvP naval battles at all from any C.Os. Especially going against Drake who we all know specializes in Naval Combat.
Someone being defeated once may bust the myth of someone invincible, but in a game where almost everyone has several losses, VoA having just one should still tell you volumes about how scary they are to face.
Obviously he is still a very naturally talented player. I will say though, with the frequency at which he plays, it is inevitable that he will be surpassed by the top players.
You're assuming that VoA only plays under that profile. Dude probably has other that he plays that actually loses. He was probably just barely played under VoA profile to preserve win rate.
@Gatitasecsii Actually, VoA is the main. He likely has other alts for when he is playing less seriously, and I am of the belief he may be the person behind Grimguy...however who is to say. Grimm wants people to not discuss who the account owner is, so I don't look much into it.
Watching Akasha and the play RIP had against Akasha makes me feel like they are playing a different game than the rest of us. Akasha also seemed to outplay RIP in many aspects except the 2 huge plays. I still believe Akasha would win the majority of their matches vs RIP
@@itsgingervitis69 Akasha had better early game trades, and definitely seemed to be a stronger player overall. However I think it was more than RIP's two big moves that won the game. Akasha lost tempo when he chose to send an early tank to engage infantry in the south. Losing that tempo lost him the center, which allowed RIP to pressure his base in the first place.
IMO biggest blunder was Mechstorm being too wishy-washy on the southern defense. He could have used that base to build his artillery (or medium tanks) and AA and use the northern base for tanks as a pincer or to reinforce the attack on Akasha's weak side. The artillery from the north just stood around like a chump and by the time it was even close to the fray Akasha's southern force was already gone and knocking on Mechstorms front door.
Playing against the final boss Voice of Akasha in Akasha Wars, is an uphill battle from the very beginning. ...regardless how many times a mere mortal tries.
And it's not like his games were close victories or lucky victories or anything like that, the Sami mirror match and the Olaf x Max match that Voice of Akasha played and are in Mangs Channel clearly shows that he has a very good game sense and is quite good at building and keeping his advantages, but of course against top 10 players games will be more complicated, and like Mangs said it wasn't an easy victory for Rip and he might have lost if he did just a few blunders or miscalculations during that match.
As a general rule, a moderator probably cares more about the game than average and is likely to play more and be better. In addition to be on a map committee you should understand the game at a different level to be deserving of deciding what maps people play on
The only place I could see Akasha being 'only' a 1400 player is maaaaybe in live as he takes a lot of time for planing but who knows if he really needs it or just takes it because he can.
11:55 Hey, so I can explain why this was a massive blunder by Mechstorm and might have even been the pivotal moment. Simply put, look at the unit composition of both sides here after this trade happens. VoA has a few tanks and a bcopter, while Mechstorm has a few tanks but a bomber. This is a huge tempo loss for Mechstorm, as bombers can't hit copters but copters can hit tanks. On a related note, trading an AA for a full HP bcopter is almost always the right play, given that it's exactly what the AA is for. You don't want to trade down to nothing, but if you can eliminate the enemy air units then you can wall much more effectively.
I think you can have an interesting map with naval units if you could make 160 by 160s. Put a continent in the center with the HQs but some islands with many properties and you could have some interesting tactics. I think if you could make bigger maps with more properties but have each property worth 300 per turn (but have more total properties on the map and start with at least 3K income on turn 1) then even airports wouldn't completely invalidate naval units. But if you want to squeeze enough terrain for interesting fights, there normally isn't room for expensive battleships in most games. I say most since in this case the battleship did very well.
Either I spend an hour in the move planner mapping out 4 different diverging plans how to carry out the turn followed by a half hour worrying about deciding between them, or I quickley play through the turn and forget to finish capping a base t3 and lose the whole game before either of us get to the line of skirmish. Misclicks trying to play By Web on a phone also do me really bad for me, so I also typically try to wait until I get home to do my turns. It's kind of frustrating how much I love this game yet how much stress I can induce to myself just trying to play it.
VoA might have been wounded... But it too the #7 Player in the entire AWBW World to do it... And it was a CLOSE match. A few unfortunate plays and...
