I 100% recommend taking creatine separately, too, because creatine you need to take it daily to see results, whereas you don't need to take pre-workout daily.
I would add Alpha Lion Super Human Pre. 1 serving has an insane amount of things in it for expert level lifters. I’m intermediate, therefore I take 1/2 scoop sometimes even a 1/3 scoop. I got 72 servings for $119.99+tax. Doesn’t sound cheap unless you take half a scoop which brings it to 144 servings for the same price. I took 1 whole scoop one time first thing in the morning off of just water and breakfast for my workout, and I nearly threw up. (This was also during the same time I was drinking 2-3 C4s every single day during work and other things.
Alpha Lion is an excellent pre-workout. I've tested it and will be talking about it in an upcoming video. But you can't take 1/2 or 1/3 scoops because a full serving is required for the clinical doses of ingredients (i.e. the doses that have been proven to be effective in research). So at the end of the day, you're paying $2.38 per serving, which is among one of the most expensive preworkouts, and it's the reason why it's not on this list because this was a "cheapest pre workout" video.
I actually tested Gold Standard Pre. It's not the best to be honest. It doesn't have clinical doses for its ingredients. Sure, it'll give you a kick of energy with 175mg of caffeine, but for me there wasn't any noticeable increases in pump, strength, or endurance. @@feast_good okay but the thing is you can’t classify bulk as one of the cheapest high quality pre workouts when it’s not cheap at all and it’s actually one of the most expensive
@@nuntomee Bulk costs $1.66 per serving. I did an analysis of over 50 pre-workouts and the average cost was $1.61. So Bulk is basically average cost. But what you have to understand is that the average cost includes ALL types of pre-workouts, even crappy ones. When you actually compare the ingredient panel to other pre-workouts that have a similar formula, those pre-workout are $2-$3 per serving. I stand by what I said in the video.
@@feast_good so it’s above the average cost, exactly why you cannot call it cheap, it might still be cheaper than the ones similar to it but it’s not cheap at all, even the ones you compared it to in the video i can get for less than $55, it might be good but it’s expensive
@@nuntomee You're missing the point. This video is not discussing the all-time cheapest pre-workouts regardless of quality. I'm picking the cheapest pre workouts that are still high quality. If I took the average cost of pre-workouts that have clinical doses of all ingredients, third-party testing with publicly disclosed results, no artificial colors or flavors, the average cost would be well above $2 per serving. It's fine though, we're probably not going to see eye to eye on this. You can use whatever cheap pre-workout you want.
I don't understand your videos because you hype them as high quality, but in another video (th-cam.com/video/87bt1tmuc5Q/w-d-xo.html), you criticize 3 out of the 7 for being overrated. What's your stance on this? 🤔
Good question. I try to make it very clear that even though these pre-workouts are cheap, they do come with notable drawbacks. For example, let's take Naked Nutrition or C4 Original. The only real benefit is that you get a solid caffeine hit. It doesn't offer anything else in terms of strength, endurance, pump, etc. So if you're looking for those qualities in a pre-workout, you're going to be disappointed. However, if you're looking for cheap energy, and that's all you care about, then it's 100% good. It'll be cheaper than a cup of coffee and will get you through your workout. So it's overrated in the sense that you can't take it expecting huge results in the gym, but it's still a cheap source of caffeine that has a time and place if that's what you value. Also, pre-workouts made the "overrated" list, too, because there's a disconnect between the advertised benefits and the actual results. While there still may be some noteworthy benefits, it's overrated because the companies try to make claims that just don't simply exist (at least from my testing). If the companies were honest with their marketing in the first place, it probably wouldn't have made the overrated list. This is the case for Gold Standard Pre. The company claims that it's designed for energy, focus, performance and endurance. And, while they do have ingredients to support those outcomes, they fall well short of clinical dosing standards to have any real impact. So again, we're dealing with a pre-workout that's probably only good for energy and focus because of the caffeine and a couple other ingredients (but not performance and endurance). So I would only take Gold Standard if you're new to pre-workouts and it's your first time using a product like this, or if you're just looking for a caffeine boost. I tried to make that clear in this video and mention that there are some drawbacks when you're looking to cut costs. All that said, if you want the best "cheap" pre-workout that stands by its claims, does what it says it's going to do, and you can get it at the same cost of the average pre-workout, then go with Bulk.

@@feast_good the DIY option is the only good recommendation you have made. the rest are under dosed cash grabs that overcharge for marketing. In no world is something like C4 a cheap option. I didn't go through every ingredient in transparent labs but at least the taurine, l-tyrosine, and l-theanine are under dosed. Pricing aside, no one should be recommended to take anything they didn't make themselves with the raw ingredients as far as supplements are concerned as the FDA does not regulate them at all and buying supps any other way increases the risk of a company, who just wants your money, selling you a bad product. In protein supplements for example it is common for companies to do amino spiking to bump up the amount of protein they can say it has but its just a bunch of low grade aminos like l-taurine l-glycine. Additionally, if you don't mix preworkout yourself each time you take it you never know how much of each ingredient is in every scoop as they aren't guaranteed to be homogenous mixtures. Like I said no one even needs any additional ingredients other than caffeine from a cheap source like instant coffee. If caffeine doesn't do the job for someone they might as well just go the Mike Mentzer route and get some amphetamines from a psychiatrist, although I can't recommend that from a health standpoint.
That may be the cheapest option but claiming that it’s the only thing anyone needs is super pretentious. It implies that there’s no point in any of the other ingredients that (high quality) pres contain and that there’s no benefit to them which is not true at all.
I think you need to do some more research on the matter my guy
@@TheFapFactory What ingredients are you speifically referring to?
@@TheFapFactory @TheFapFactory i think you need to do some research on the definition of need. I've done plenty of research and none of those ingredients are necessary. No one even needs the caffeine. I'm a biologist and have been studying nutrition/exercise science for over a decade. I assure you that you can achieve the performance and physique of competitive athletes without supplements.
