- So todays video I'm super excited about! It's been a few weeks in the making and I've vinyl wrapped the C8 Corvette in a brand new color! We go through the whole process as well as talk about what I learned as a total beginner wrapping a car for the very first time! Enjoy!

Finally got to finish watching this! Wow!! What a lot of work!! Does look good for a first timer. Unlike me when I painted my first car, I was able to buff out 95% of my problems!! Good job and great video!!

The prices they charge to do vinyl is insane. The only thing more insane is the cost of Ceramic Coating. I reached out to a wallpaper installer. Guess what, way cheaper.

Heck yeah man! Definitly isnt a perfect wrap and theres gunna be a decent amount of redoing of panels now that I kind of understand better how to properly install. We could make a video showing a redo of panel getting installed even. 😎👍

Haha after i finished the first panel, I knew then how big of a job it was gunna be but there wasnt any turning back after that 😋. I hope GM does have some new colors that are exciting. Current rumors of the colors so far havent sparked my interest yet.

Late comment but ironically i wrapped my c8 last month. First car trying to wrap after having it for like 2 years. Definitely a task i didnt expect to be that difficult. I even took my bumpers off and did more for prep and it came out with those "need to redo eventually" spots. After these weeks in the sun, did you have bubbles or draw backs on edges you wouldnt expect? From afar it looks great but getting up close you really see the imperfections. Everyone was like, "why you starting on something that difficult?!" Sorry for such a long comment. Just a lot of relation and i could talk about it for hours. Great job!
Hey Bud thanks for the comment! Yeah I definitely agree that the C8 is not the easiest to do especially as a first time and its cool to find someone else that gave it a go as their first car ever to do a full wrap! I didnt have as many bubbles but i did have more draw backs on edges I was not expecting. I feel I needed to give WAYYY more material around the edges than I originally did and I think doing a better Post Install Heat Gun treatment is the trick to fix that. But overall its a good learning experience. Thanks for sharing and supporting the channel!

Yup Rear Wheel Drive is where i got my inspiration actually. Talked to him all about it beforehand. 😊 and best believe i was sore for a while afterwards haha.
@@NuHorizonC8 That’s great. I thought you talked to him. It took him a month to get his car done as I recall. We were going to give him a Z06 owners association yellow card for driving around like that. Bringing the value down plus he is well under the min age of 65 for Z06 ownership. lol. EXCELLENT JOB!!! The next one will be even easier. There are other wrap manufacturers and styles that are easier to harder to install. I'm glad u chose 3M as I hear they are one of the best films to work with. I'm going to wrap my C8 when I get it, just dont know when that will happen. Trying to save up half for a Z06 cuz that Ferrari engine is 1 of none. Hey thanks for commenting, actually this wrap is from a company called KPMF but its the same high end materials that you see with certain brands like 3M. The material itself was definitely alot easier to work with especially as a beginner. The purple color like stradmans with a bit of metal flake would be pretty rad for sure!

Looks fantastic! How'd you get around the obstacle of the side mirrors being attached to the door? I'm stuck trying to figure how to wrap around. Don't want to open the door panel and try to remove them.
Hey thanks for the comment! So for the mirrors, i started with a single cut that went parrallel to the mirror direction. Then as i was getting closer and closer around the mirror, and using heat, i trimmed more to relieve areas that were in tension but wouldnt compromise where it needed to lay. Long story short a mix of this and sectioning out the forward and top section around the mirror part made the job alot easier. If you use cutting tape, your lines will be barely noticeable and it ends up looking clean enough for a DIY. Hope that helps

Hey thanks Garren! It took me about 50-60 hours to complete this wrap. A chunk of the time was learning especially at the beginning. If i were to do it again, id say i could shave off an extra 10 hours or so.

Hey Nishall thanks for the comment. So in this case I didnt fix any of the stone chips. The imperfections were rather small to me personally to make it worth doing a full fix. Plus I knew with this being my first time wrapping the car, Id honestly have to wrap it again anyways because it wasnt going to be perfect. If you were looking for professional high level grade, then yeah fixing stone chips before wrapping would be the right way to go.

Beauty must be in the eye of the beholder. We love our 2023 Arctic White 3LT HTC non-Z51 with carbon flash painted top, nacelles, low rear spoiler, wheels, and many other trim features.
