I didnt have any of that, and let me tell you, when you're working a full time min. wage job, it's just not enough to survive. I even worked two full time jobs, 7 days a week, months on end without a day off, 65-75 hrs. total per week, for over 5 yrs, and my boyfriend and I still had to move back in with his parents twice. Rent alone where I live is usually around 1800-2500, a full time job at min. wage only nets u about 2000 a month, not including other bills. Its fucking impossible for ppl like me with no help to make it alone.
To be fair the economy was a lot stronger when this aired so living with parents into adulthood was a sign of failure instead of a normal thing back then

Sort of. That’s what it seems like, but they’re actually trying to get a confession. It’s very hard to prosecute somebody for online activity because the law requires you to confirm that you are the actual person that sent those messages. Example: a lot of predators are protected when no harm was actually done because without verbal and a direct confession or discussion about his actions, you can’t lawfully prove for prosecution that HE was the one that typed and sent the messages, even though it came from the phone BELONGING to the predator. Disappointing, I know. But the “my friend took my phone” actually holds up in court unless they have pictures of him that were sent in chat, or a verbal confession. This is an important factor in the job, what Hansen is doing. He’s getting them to talk about it before they realize they have the right to remain silent, and that remaining silent is the only thing protecting them as soon as they show up to the house.

As she entered, he still looked at her and even followed her. She came right by me and that’s when I told him he was a 80 year old man watching my daughter the whole time and she was only thirteen! He didn’t know what to do with himself and quickly walked away. I’m a grown woman and I could tell how he was looking at my daughter. I told my daughter to always watch her surroundings because someone could be watching her.
