The last sound you should hear before the tree starts to fall is the sound of wedges being hammered into place. The wedges will determine which direction the falls in.....no wedging, no control.

I’ve always loved an advertisement I saw in the UK. It showed the rings of a felled tree about 10 feet across. An arrow point appeared pointing toward the centre and the caption reading the year I was planted, William the Conqueror had just invaded England. A second arrow appeared about a third of the way out with the caption Henry V wins at Agincourt. A third arrow about half way with the caption Elizabeth 1 ascended the throne. A fourth arrow about three quarters the way out with the caption Queen Victoria crowned. A fifth arrow about 4 inches from the outer edge with the caption I survived the Battle of Britain. There was then about a 10 second pause before the last arrow appeared very close to the edge with the caption the year the prick who just cut me down was born. 😊
