Great review as usual. As a big MGS fan I think I may have to order this. The face weirds me out a bit, but overall they did a good job it seems. And I like how accurate it is to the actual model in MGS 2.
If this were a tad cheaper, I could forgive the inconsistent and often poorly-painted face, the detail lost in it and in other details since they prototypes shown, and his signature accessory being an exclusive. But for the price that's charged for him, it's just not worth it to me and MF doesn't deserve the money because they'll keep doing shit like this. I'm bummed because MGS2 is my favorite game in the series.
The angled elbow peg on the left arm is a common issue. It's also kinda fragile: the one in my figure broke the moment I tried to move the hinge, and I didn't even apply that much pressure.
I know it's a late post, but I just saw your review and enjoyed it. They did a re-issue for this figma and it was up for pre-order but is now sold out. I was able to preorder one :). The only other figmas I own are Samus from Other M, and Link from A Link between Worlds.
I wish they had done a better job on the face consistency wise because from Japanese photos it's all over the place. Some people got decent ones and others got faces that were inexcusably bad. For people who really care about that I suggest buying from second hand market and asking seller for close up shots of the face.

It sucks they didn't include it with the actual figure, the M9 it comes with is ok but its not as good or iconic as Snake's MK23 from MGS1. I've been scouring the internet since it released but so far nobody seems to have it. ;_;
After a few years the legs of my snake are a little "loose" (can't find the word to describe it but they are not as strong as day one) and now he can't really stand without his display stage :( Am i the only one experiencing this?

Man this is one problem with collecting figures - makers can't seem to agree to make their products more or less the same size. I have 3 PAK, and even they don't make same sized figures. My Asylum Harley is 8.25", so is is my DKR Catwoman. But my Arkham Knight Harley is 9.5". Doesn't match on my display. Now I want to get one of these (because PAK no longer makes this and the ones on sale are way too high) but it's friggin short!

Big Boss had 3 games. (4 if you count phantom pain because of the twist ending where Naked Snake and Medic were both Big Boss.) Snake had 4 games. Raiden had 2 games. Why do people say that Big Boss is the main character of the Metal Gear series at this point?
I bought a fake one for $20 off ebay, kinda disappointed to find it was a fake when I tried moving the eyes and they wouldn't move, not to mention it would fall apart every five seconds
I was going to buy this to go along with my Play Arts Kai figures, but I realized that this one is practically half the size of those. It's too bad because I prefer Snake's MGS2 design more than the first.
Because of this I ordered a KO version, but its even worse, its Snake McDerpFace xD Guess I'll put him under the box, which is what I wanted to do anyway... ;)
For that elbow problem, try taking the forearm and the hinge then reinsert the hinge in another way. I had this problem with two fake Figma figures- Kirito and Asuna- because their elbows didn't give me much motion and the moulds didn't match up properly, so I took out the pegs and flipped them around to fix it. May not work with Snake because one end's a ball peg, but try spinning the hinge around instead of flipping it- it might help.
My version is pretty terrible! The arms can barely pose, or they just come off. His leg came off at the knee joint! His face looks terrible and over all im just upset with overall quality of it.

He had more of a personality so people like him more. if you look in detail, it is more about Ocelot than the Snake family. It's up to you, though.
