    Woah woah woah man, let’s back up a second. This whole rant has some points, but are twisted with some pretty hard core assumptions about Pink Diamond Rose. We do not know what exactly are he events that lead to her decision. We don’t know if she even had a chance to just go “Hey! I don’t want to keep colonizing this planet because it’s beautiful!” There are plenty of factors that could’ve complicated things, especially considering her mind appears to act way younger than the other diamonds.
    I could literally come up with a more humanizing reason rn but I’m writing from my phone and that’d be a lot- so--
    Seeing the whole situation from the perspective that Pink was given a huge responsibility while still mentally unprepared to deal with all of its aspects and then desperately trying to find a way to make your own path like “Living on earth as someone completely detached from home world society”... you can see how even a good gem could COMPLETELY fuck up. I do not believe she did this out of malice, but it’s clear she definitely was never a perfect leader. She was impulsive, childish, secretive, dishonest. But those traits don’t always sprout from someone trying to watch the world burn. It’s clear she really did love the planet. That she really did love her gems, especially her crystal gems. She even loved pearl (Platonically of course, literally look at any clips of pearl and rose and you can see pearl is just infatuated beyond repair while rose sits there idiotically oblivious). And Rose avoid ever thinking about anything she did because: (and she’s stated this herself) she’s made so many mistakes and done so many objectively terrible things in the past... if she was Sociopathic or something she wouldn’t care. And she very clearly cares.
    *whips* look now you got me defending pink diamonds stupid ass-

    • @curiousnerdkitteh

      @@EmmyDereest Perhaps. I also wonder if she's actually just really really genuinely unaware of the massive privilege she has in having been the darling entertainer among the diamonds (basically a spoiled yet also abused child) and having everyone else defer to her as a diamond. It didn't ever occur to her that she shouldn't do exactly what she wanted. It'd always been everyone's delight to serve her, so why shouldn't she have exactly as she wanted?
      Or perhaps it is narcissism, and she conveniently has her secrets and does what she wants without caring who she hurts in the process.
      My darkest suspicion was that she actually wondered if she'd literally become half of Steven, and he was another selfish way for her to become like the earthly life she loved so much, and further escape the reach of diamonds. He was her ticket to another existence, one she couldn't truly escape by assuming a new identity as Rose Quartz.

    Personally, I think Pink's intentions (to have herself, her court, her colony, and all the life on it be free of the oppressive, destructive control of Homeworld) were noble, but a lot of her methods and approaches were off-key. There were a lot good things that happened, but also a lot of bad things too.
    Then again, because of how strict and seemingly oppressive the Diamonds' and Homeworld's ways and traditions were, she might not have had much choice in how she went about her goals.

      ...You DO realize what situation Pink was in, right. Like really what could she do
      First of all, Let's discuss why Pink got Spinel in the first place. Pink had recently (to gem standards) had broken down after some beef with the other diamonds and accidentally injured her first pearl so much Pink couldn't keep her. Some people believe this was intentional, but the truth is it isn't. Pink loved her pearl because she could finally feel more like a diamond, and got close to her as well. I am not sure what happened but Pink had too much anger/sadness bottled up and quite literally let out a gush of her diamond power onto her pearl which kind of ruined her. Pink couldn't keep her because at the time if you weren't "perfect" you would be shattered of "fixed" by white diamond (becoming a zombie). So, Pinks pearl got taken away and turned into a zombie by white. This definitely had a negative effect on Pink, which was added to the already concerningly massive pile of bad things. The other diamonds noticed this, and got her a "replacement", Spinel. Spinel and Pink got close IMMEDIATELY. Spinel was perfect for pink and they had fun all the time. But Pink still was sad. There is nothing wrong with Spinel, but nothing can replace an old friend/whatever. Picture this, imagine you have a sibling of which you love very much. Let's say you and the sibling got in a fight, and you made her cry, and she ran away. Weeks later she is found dead. Your parents know you're sad, so they get you a really cool doll. You love this doll, but it can't replace your sibling. That is Pink's situation, except less her fault and more the abuse of the other Diamonds. So, anyway, Pink has fun with Spinel not forgetting her first Pearl. Thing is, around that time Pink got a colony (Earth), and as everyone knows, visits it and falls in love with it. She realizes that she and her inferiors are destroying it, taking its resources and leaving it empty. Pink didn't want this, and tried to stop it. This led to a fight with the other diamonds, which led to the war. Pink was maturing, becoming an "adult", and needed Spinel less and less. Soon, Pink had to escape to Earth and took her second more well known pearl with her, but not Spinel, why? BECAUSE, Spinel is very immature. The reason that tied in with Pink not taking her is, imagine, Spinel having to experience the war, possibly die, and also Spinel is clumsy, so she would probably blow their cover, getting the squad killed. And, regarding what would happen if Pink returned her, isn't a good choice either. So, basically, Pink could only keep Spinel at the garden. I respect that some people don't like Pink, that's fine, but if the reason is only because of the Spinel incident, then they need an explanation of why Pink had to do that.

    • @LooseyLu1
      @LooseyLu1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@moshy8650 so because Spinel was immature and childish like that justifies her leaving her on a island in space forever basically, she took pearl with her. So why wouldn’t she take spinel with her if she thought all gems deserved a chance to be free, why would she lie to her and leave her for over 3000 years? Because she was moving on? That’s still fucked up, why couldn’t she tell spinel what she told pearl?

    • @tylerlyons1812
      @tylerlyons1812 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@moshy8650 No she wasn't. As much as I agree Pink wasn't a total monster, she was in no way in the right for leaving Spinel in the garden for 6000 years. I personally think Pink left Spinel in the garden, because she knew she couldn't bring her, but that she could've handled the situation a lot better.

    I’m not trying to redeem PD/RQ here, but someone pointed out that Pink didn’t have much of a choice, and that she genuinely thought that faking her own death was the best option. All Yellow and Blue ever did was patronize her, control her, talk down on her, criticize her. Pink truly felt like the Diamonds didn’t care about her. And she knew that she was by far the weakest Diamond. The smallest Diamond with only 1 incompleted colony. What options did she have?
    Option A: Stand up to Yellow and Blue, insisting that Earth will not be colonized.
    Outcome 1: Yellow and Blue brush it off and continue to force Pink to colonize Earth.
    Outcome 2: Yellow and/or Blue set Pink aside and take over the Earth to finish the colony themselves.
    Outcome 3: Yellow and Blue turn on Pink and defeat her in a full-blown war that still includes the Cluster and the corruption bomb.
    Outcome 4: Yellow and Blue turn on Pink and defeat her, but still colonize Earth afterwards.
    Option B: Continue to colonize Earth the way Yellow and Blue want her to.
    Outcome: Everything on Earth dies and all gems are still serving Homeworld.
    Option C: Keep making up excuses for not colonizing Earth.
    Outcome: Yellow and Blue getting sick and tired of it and setting Pink aside, colonizing Earth themselves.
    Option D: Completely defect from Homeworld and fight for Earth as a Crystal Gem (as Pink, not Rose).
    Outcome: The war will happen and Pink will eventually be bubbled or imprisoned/punished in any other way, or in the worst case, shattered.
    Option E: Fake your own death, because Blue literally said “As long as you are here to rule, this colony will be completed”. Seeing as Pink genuinely thought that the Diamonds didn’t care about her, she thought this was the best option.
    Outcome: Earth is left alone and she and Pearl are free to live there. No war, no corruption, etc.
    Or so she thought. This is where Pink went wrong. I can understand why Pink chose option E but she really didn’t think ANY of it through. She must have known the Diamonds wouldn’t accept her death and, especially since they had someone to blame who was actively fighting for Earth ON Earth, they would seek revenge. And so everything bad that has ever happened in the show followed.
    It’s not like Pink knowingly made the choice to let the war, corruption, and so on and so forth happen. She just didn’t think through it all and she also probably didn’t care as much. At the end of the day, it was her own ass she was saving.
    Something I DO actively blame Pink for is how dirty she did Pearl. No need to get further into that, we all know all about that now.
    More than anything, I have VERY mixed feelings on Pink. More bad than good at this point, but I haven’t branded her a super evil villain yet. Maybe that’s where White comes in.

      You have to understand Pink was the youngest the other three had years of experience beyond her. She may not have done things right or misjudged some of her decisions but I don't think that calls for calling her a villian. A villian is someone who does somthing for there own gain but her choices forming the Crystal Gems, faking her death, it was all to spare humanity and with that we have to see what led her to deciding this as we have only seen two versions of Pink Dimand the first acting like a spoiled brat and the one here leading a secret rebellion against the other diamonds what happened in those years to make become that. It's all good to claim she is a villian but I am sure Rebecca Sugar and her team have a good reason for it.

    Before we judge PD's actions too harshly, let's consider her situation. It's made pretty clear by her mannerisms that, at least from a writing standpoint, she's coded to be a child. A bratty, spoiled child with no perspective on things like consequences and empathy. In any other world, a child would learn these things by interaction with other children and by being parented properly. But in PD's world, children as a concept don't even exist. Parenting doesn't exist, the other Diamonds have no idea how to handle her and grow to resent her for it. And the icing on the cake, because of her nature as a Gem, she will never ever have the opportunity to grow up and mature beyond her initial flawed programming. She's doomed to be an incompetent child and looked down upon *forever.*
    And then she encounters Earth. Here, the beings are growing and changing all the time, living and aging and evolving, and it's the embodiment of everything she desires for her own life. But the very foundation of this ever-changing world is the antithesis of Gem society; constant change versus constant perfection. Preserving this microcosm would be acknowledging that it's system of aging and learning has value, that mistakes have intrinsic value. It would destabilize the very core of the Gem's rigid philosophical foundation of everything being perfectly tailored for a specific purpose. Accepting Earth as it was would be admitting that Gem society is flawed, and logically, that would call their credibility as leaders into question in the eyes of their subjects.
    But PD's a child, she doesn't understand this. All she sees is 'the adults are being unfair and not listening to me.' So what's her response? Run away from home. Put on an adult costume and express her argument to a different crowd. This planet is her ticket out of her hopeless situation, and like *hell* she's going to watch as she's forced to destroy the only hope she has. Not only does her disguise work flawlessly, but she finds followers. She finds genuine validation based on her thoughts and not her status for the first time in her life. And it's intoxicating. Once she's had a taste of genuine respect and validation, there's no way she's going back. Not for anything. She'd rather die.
    And so she does.
    Were there other ways to handle it? Yes. Better ways? Yes. But do most children have the clear-headed perspective and maturity to think those ways through before acting? *Fuck no.*

      ...You DO realize what situation Pink was in, right.

      How the diamonds will handle the situation with learning Pink Diamond not being shattered by a Rose Quartz,would it be like a pregnant woman on death row? Realizing that's Stevens' body is organic and if his life span is longer than an average human compared to the immortal gems bodies his life will be over in a flash not that they want to kill Steven but I feel they would want to put Pink Diamond on trail as a traitor and Actually shatter her not letting homeworld know of her still being alive. I can Imagine Yellow Diamond saying you wanted a shattering, now you'll have one. So I feel pink diamond will eventually pay for her actions and steven is just buying her time. I believe the Rose Quartzes we seen in Gem Heist would be release since I do feel the Diamonds do have a fair judicial system. When I look at how many Rubies there are, and remembering when ruby said in response to sapphire asking if she was okay and her saying who cares there's millions of me, Pink diamond made so many Rose Quartz so that when she took her form as one they couldn't trace it down to a single gem. For Example if a Sapphire committed an offensive it'd be easy for the sapphires owner to go specifically to that gem.

    • @findinguniverse3481
      @findinguniverse3481 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      At first I thought the Rose Quartzes were bubbled to keep them silent, that maybe they was mentally connected having empathy powers but I think now that that may be a power exclusively to Pink Diamond.

      My money is on this being a non-standard villain trope. Absolutely I believe that she thought this was the best course of action. This was a selfish act and lacked empathy for all who would be impacted by her choices. Doing the wrong things with good intentions is still wrong, and I hope this is a theme that the show does embrace. Loved the episode and eager to see where they go with it.

    I can’t hate Rose/PD because in the end of the day she thought she was making the right decision, and yes it did hurt a lot of gems but you can’t always make the right decision sometimes you have to follow your gut and hope at the end of the day everything turns out good. By her making that once choice I believe we are going to get to see how Steven, Pearl, Amethysts, Garnet, and Greg grow as individuals and not just them pinning over a lost one they are going to be able to let go of that image of what they thought Rose was and evolve into more complex characters

      honestly...no. She was selfish. Asking and asking and ASKING Yellow and Blue for a colony of her own, just to figure out she doesn't want to hurt it? So what does she do? She runs away from her responsibilities! Not only that, but she asks so much of the people she has manipulated and hurt the past few thousand years or so with giving nothing in return. I think back to "Storm In The Room," when Steven asks if she made him just to hide from her mistakes. Welp! I would totally believe that that's why she did it. She did it once already, so why not again!

    Maybe pink was mortified of how white diamond would have reacted. I mean, maybe she would have, like, destroyed the planet to make pink think again about defying the diamond authority. I mean we are claiming her to be the most powerful diamond and the one who has authority over the other diamonds AKA, the supreme ruler. By the way, I personally like this plot twist i love how the crewniverse set this up and we cant complain about finally getting answers after so much filler episodes. And the characters dont have to forgive pink, but maybe they can forgive steven.

      Kel Kirkpatrick There are no filler episodes in the series. Every episode is inter- related in some shape or form. If they were filler you could just skip the episode cuase its not important but each episode serve importantance. This is because they foreshadow certain events that will take place later episodes in the series. You just have to read between the lines and look out for sutle hints the show provides for you in every episode. So therefore no filler.

He's probably feeling equally as cheated. turns out mom was just a selfish spoilt brat, that's why Bismuth said "Then you really are better than her." It's ambiguous because the story is set in the present, for Steven he'll only ever hear two biased sides of the story, the Gems will always think RQ is a hero, and PD as their Oppressor. Homeworld will always think RQ as a criminal, and PD as a victim. A person is never as simple as what others tell you. That, and Rose DID lie a whole bunch like about lion and Bismuth so it's not really out of the blue.

    Rose's character makes perfect sense with the PD reveal: as Pink Diamond she was abused, but still sheltered and privileged. She simultaneously doesn't think her fake death will negatively affect anyone and also doesn't realise the power, influence and privilege she has over other people and how much they defer to her and base their lives around what she says. While being made to feel less than the other diamonds in status, she was still indulged even by White Diamond as the darling entertainer and the spoilt child, she has always been taken care of while still being a leader to the gems under her, she was raised to not even consider others' feelings or to realise how much her everyday life was based around an expectation of others serving her. Thus in her becoming captivated by the wonder of Earth, it made sense to her that, feeling like the least important of them, she'd never be missed by the diamonds, and that there was no reason why her desires should not be met, just as others had swarmed to accommodate them, or to have consequences for others, no reason to consider why she shouldn't have what she wanted. She is basically a lesson in massive privilege.

  • @DragonTrainer201
    @DragonTrainer201 6 ปีที่แล้ว +70

    Good video, but there’s just one thing you said that I didn’t agree with, which is that Pink Diamond was on equal footing with the other diamonds. In the episode, “Can’t Go Back”, you see how the other diamonds treat her. They may SAY that she’s equal, but they certainly DON’T TREAT her like an equal. They told her to just “smile and wave”, which tells us that Pink had no real power or authority. On paper, Pink was just as important, but that scene showed us that the other three diamonds held real power, not her. Other than that minor little detail, you made some good points.
    Of course, I wouldn’t be surprised if there was another major revelation down the line that casts Pink/Rose in a better light, such as Yellow Diamond suspecting that Pink was “off-colour” and if proven correct, Pink would’ve been shattered for real.

    • @angelsinthewindow
      @angelsinthewindow 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The diamonds sounded like they were talking to a child in that flashback. "Making Excuses" "Just Smile and Wave" "We gave you a colony like you wanted"... I wouldn't be surprised if they also controlled Pink's Gems too. Pink could of told her Gem's not to fight but her 'Big sisters' would of probably poofed them if they did.

    I was shocked! But in my eyes it made sense.
    Pink Diamond/Rose Quarts had a colony on earth so she must've interacted with a human or two that inspired her to want to live a free life and to help other gems realise this. But she came to the conclusion that she wouldn't be able to do so being a diamond. So she got her pearl in on her ideas and her entire plan. Including the part where she made another identity for herself. Kinda like the faking-your-death thing to live a new life!
    Man I love Steven Universe!

    Okay, I've been thinking about it...and there's something else that rubbed me the wrong way:
    The implication what Pink did makes her WORSE than the other Diamonds...I'm sorry, but that REALLY rubs me the wrong way.
    Pink may have WANTED to be a conqueror before she actually got Earth, she changed her mind. Yes maybe thousands suffered...but we outright SEE Yellow Diamond performing a PLANETARY GENOCIDE with all the investment of a boring office job in Jungle Moon.
    And the murals show ALL three Diamonds have done that.
    So how is manipulating and lying to people in an attempt to SAVE billions of people anywhere NEAR as unforgivable as multiple counts of PLANETARY GENOCIDE? Especially when Rose clearly feels REMORSE for her actions.
    Greg: I don't even know you.
    Rose: That's a GOOD thing.
    The other Diamonds? Yellow treated the invasion in Jungle Moon like it was a boring office job. She felt NOTHING to her. To her the species they were annihilating were a bug infestation. And given they rule an entire GALAXY, in all likelihood the planets on their murals are the tip of the iceberg.
    Note, I'm not saying this makes the Diamonds BEYOND redemption. I don't feel they ARE, especially not Blue at this point since on some level she can acknowledge humanity doesn't deserve to die.
    What I'm saying is it genuinely rubs me the wrong way to say 'this person who did morally ambiguous or grey things in an attempt to save the Earth' is somehow worse that 'people who remorselessly commit planetary genocide multiple times over without a moment's regret'.
    If Rose doesn't deserve forgiveness, NONE of the Diamonds do PERIOD. 'The Diamonds aren't in the wrong' implies they've done nothing wrong, but they HAVE. They'd done a LOT of wrong.
    I'm sorry, I love your videos, but that genuinely rubs me the wrong way and I DO NOT agree with it AT ALL.

      I agree. None of the Gems were forced into this. And what we fail to realise is that everyone has their reasons for everything they do. Pink was treated as less by Yellow, she couldn't treat life on her colony as less. And would the gems have accepted her if she came out as Pink Diamond. Ruby and Sapphire would quit outright, because they are already loyal to Blue. Plus she needed the troops, and if she was found out to have led the rebellion against her own sisters she would have become the defective diamond and could have been shattered. Honestly this just sounds like needless whining from someone who wants this Whodunnit trope to be dragged on and on. Now this is not to say I don't like the videos. I do. I wouldn't have subscribed if I did. But his point of argument is just silly

Plus now that they didnt get the earth the gem empire is dwindeling and apparently dying. That war as put her whole species in jeopardy. So yeh, nice job Pink, you did bad

    Im glad that Rose was "ruined" for the haters. It's a deconstruction of the perfect angelic messiah archetype often given to female characters. No flaws, human wants or greed, no mistakes; the "Mary Sue". This story is just as about Rose "growing up" as it is Steven's coming of age story.
    Pink Diamond was not equal to the other diamonds; she was treated like a child. Repeatedly asking the others to stop colonizing Earth fell on deaf ears. Demanding that letting the humans live and Gems to forsake their caste class would have had an even worse outcome. Doing nothing would have killed all organic life on Earth.
    The Crystal Gems were willing to die to defend the earth and liberate themselves. It wasn't a fake war, the whole goal was to get the rest of the Diamonds to leave Earth and the defected Gems alone. Her mistake was assuming that the rebels killing off a Diamond would scare the rest of Homeworld off.

    The more we learned about Rose, the more her image as a 'Saint who can do no wrong' is broken. The Crystal Gems put her in a high standard and will defend her whenever ill will is thrown her way. I started to notice that Rose wasn't what she seemed after 'Rose's Scabbard' where she didn't tell anyone about Lion or his dimensional abilities.
    That could be excused but after 'Bismuth', I began to realize that RQ wasn't the saint that she was built up to be. I began to suspect that she was a coward or at least not able to make good adult decisions, like locking Bismuth away and RQ lying about it because she possibly couldn't deal with the consequences.
    Almost like what a child would do.
    When we learned more about Pink Diamond and finding her to be the runt of the group, which I don't think anyone suspected. Prior to the reveal, we all thought PD was beloved and was a tyrannical goddess.
    We now know that RQ/PD were painted in ways that were not fully true.
    RQ/PD staged her death so she would be free from the Diamonds and live on the Crystal Gem's "planet". Not the human's planet or the Earth, but just the CG's planet. Depending whether or not humans existed or not, it still incredibly naive that the Diamonds will just leave Earth alone.
    We now know that RQ/PD made terrible and somewhat childish choices that resulted in catastrophic and torturous events that impacted Gem life. The rebellion, the Cluster, the corrupted Gems, all of it was because of her reckless and half-baked decisions.
    Also whenever or not she knew about Pearl's feelings, is up in the air. But if she did, it's possible that she kept quiet because it would be uncomfortable and she didn't know how to handle it. Then she selfishly fell in love with Greg and bore a child with him, despite knowing that Pearl was infaturated with her. Not saying selfish in a bad way but if she did bear a child knowing that it will kill her and cause 'her' Pearl emotional harm, that is selfish.
    Whether Steven's birth was redemption by committing seppuku so she'll pay for her decision making and everything that was done to the CG or if it was just a way to escape from the hole she dug because of her emotional immaturity.
    To me Rose/Pink is a child. She seems to have a childish worldview, ignorant to the consequences of her action (if she did know, then maybe she just didn't care), does whatever she wants but is remembered as a being who could do no wrong, from ironically both sides of the war.
    RQ/PD is an interesting character with all of this in my head, so I hope that the reveal causes legitimate conflict within the CG. While the show has dealt with character conflict before and succeeds, this is something that was a long time coming and can't be ignored by the CG, any longer.
    That Rose Quartz was not perfect.

      Rixarts I honestly agree with you on everything and all in all I know alot of people hate pink for what she did but I personally dont hate her but I wouldnt say I like her either I'm just interested in her because as stated she is meant to be seen as the child in diamonds someone who doesnt quite know what she wants and cant clearly see how her plans could backfire. I really hate some of the decisions she made but when I think about it I just end up thinking she is like a child so she may not know any better. She just seems to do what she thinks is right/ what she wants but doesnt always think things through like with fake her own "death". She thought she would be free but didnt realize the severity of it meanwhile a bunch of are looking at her like wtf of course its gonna fall flat no way in hell would it work. But then again she is probably not capable of seeing the whole situation because she couldn't quite capacitate. Anyways yes she is an interesting character and honestly thinking about how this theory came through I dont think the show would have been better off with a different scenarios cause thinking back on it. This makes a bit more sense than if rose and pink were two different characters. The impact wouldn't be as strong. Imma stop rambling now XD

      I agree that the reveal made Rose a more compelling character, since she was described as being the ultimate saint, who doesn't do anything wrong. Why is it that VGMarkis is the only guy making videos who has handled this twist at all maturely? Seriously with this?
    Look, the entire point of this was that Pink was young and stupid and made the wrong choices, and it's overwhelmingly obvious that she's painfully aware of how much trouble her choices made. It's *why* she wanted to forget, it's *why* she wanted to start over, it's *WHY SHE WANTED TO BE STEVEN.* It's clear she's been carrying a huge amount of guilt for *thousands of years.*
    As much she yells until she's pink in the face that she's on equal footing with the other Diamonds, she clearly isn't, and that fact only got further and further rubbed home as the colony project dragged on far longer than expected. She set up the human zoo probably as a plan A to save *some* humans, and then set up this rebellion as a half-hearted way of avoiding a direct conflict with the Diamonds. She probably seriously thought the Diamonds would be scared of someone who could shatter them and just leave because she clearly didn't understand how much they actually cared about her, and she almost certainly didn't know about the mind-nuke. She also probably figured that they would have destroyed the zoo, not counting again on how much the Diamonds would mourn her.
    But the most important thing of all that you and everyone else except VGMarkis is ignoring is that *THIS IS CLEARLY CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT--WHY ARE YOU PUNISHING THE SHOW FOR HAVING THE CHARACTER MAKE MISTAKES IN HER PAST THAT SHE'S TRYING TO REDEEM HERSELF FOR?!* Bismuth's line about how Steven really IS better than Rose was *not an accident--it's supposed to be ENTIRELY TRUE.* Rose is a flawed character who knew how flawed she was, and Steven is Rose's *redemption.*

      Or you could view her conception of Steven as her running away from her problems as Steven is NOT actually her and therefore cannot be her redemption. I really don't like this 'She's a child' mentality, as if that excuses her actions. A child committing atrocious acts should be punished just as much as an adult doing something of the same magnitude. She broke several hearts, endangered here entire army and lied to everyone for thousands of years, she isn't a good person and never will be. Steven has made it clear he is not her, and I don't think he'll ever want to be.

    • @Yamatonix11
      @Yamatonix11 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Agreed. I've seen 3 videos that seek to completely villify everything to do with Rose Quartz/PD and it's kinda getting on my nerves. Pink Diamond wanted to save her planet, that's why she kept making excuses to keep from establishing the colony. It's all right there. She tried to delay the other two diamonds the entire time, "there are too many humans", "Their cities are too difficult to dismantle", She's been looking for a way to avoid the destruction of the planet ever since she became aware of her own interest in humanity, or organic life in general.
      Yeah she was selfish at first, she was a diamond. She LEARNED. but instead of thinking about that, all I've seen is video after video of how she is truly evil, but... this show is about forgiveness?
      Vox is definitely not innocent on this either, This video as well as the last, he wants hell to happen in SU now, because I know for a fact that he didn't want PD to still be alive in ANY form, let alone being Rose Quartz

      No, Steven is Rose's way of running away from her problems. She set all of this stuff up, she is responsible for all this death and misery, and then she runs away like a coward so she doesn't have to face the music. In fact, it's even worse; she leaves alllll this shit for *Steven* to deal with. She is by far the worst character on the show now; not to mention a terrible mother for ever even thinking about bringing a child into the picture to face all of this shit. It's disgusting.
      Remember the whole point of Steven's arc coming to grips that he was not his mother? Where's that now, eh? Is that suddenly retconned? Now he's suddenly his mother?

And even with that, she would have been "evil" either way, because if she didn't want to do what she wanted and remained a diamond leader, she would have been mixed in with the rest of the hostile diamonds....and SU would have never been made.....*slow shrugs* want to judge her judgement, but her choices made something amazing out of alot of turmoil.

  • @oscardarla
    @oscardarla 6 ปีที่แล้ว +28

    I think we are blowing this out of proportion a little. Yes pink diamond may have made some bad choices and is a bad person, but no one is that black and white. Pink said in jungle moon she was just as important, but was she really? She didn't have her own colony, she acts like a child, and she is just physically smaller than the other diamonds. How could she have the same importance? The other diamonds talk down to her, just saying "smile and wave and everything with fall into line." Blue diamond silences her when she tries to speak. Pink at that point KNOWS there is no changing their minds.
    Another thing, yes she was very manipulative to pearl. I think the silence was forced and Pearl physically couldn't speak about it, which is really messed up. But to say Pink didn't care at all for pearl is an understatement. Yea she didn't love her, but they had to have been very close still. Pink became obsessed with organic life, how it grows and changes. She wanted to protect it, investigate it, learn and become one with it. The very thought of wanting to protect organic life is completely ridiculous to every other gem.
    I don't think Pink knew about corruption. As someone who commanded both sides of the war, both the crystal and homeworld gems, she would know how to manipulate things in her favor and make the crystal gems victorious. But if she knew about corruption, wouldn't she have warned everyone? She could have thought of some excuse of "oh we found information that they are going to do bad stuff so everyone bubble yourselves and protect yourself." But no, she last minute pulled garnet and pearl behind her shield.

      @Cherry Mae Raviz No one is a angel in this show, that's the point. No one is evil nor perfect. Pink was immature but eventually DID mature and tried to fix what she had done.

  • @TeaCupSimmer
    @TeaCupSimmer 6 ปีที่แล้ว +128

    I don't deny that she's a bad character but I feel like we're making a bunch of assumptions about what Pink was aware of. Based on how she was treated in jungle moon and I can't go back, the diamonds don't treat her like an equal they seem almost indifferent to her supposed struggles with the planet. We don't know how much time has passed between the Pink we see in jungle moon and the Pink we see in a single pale rose but it could be thousands of years. So her entire disposition could have changed in that time. she's categorically an off color so she would eventually recognize herself as flawed by having to constantly compare herself to the other diamonds. Based on the two episodes, I don't think Pink thought that the other diamonds cared about her at all. I think she truly thought they would consider the planet a waste of time if she was no longer around. Which is incredibly sad in my book, it means Pink is someone who's felt so ostracized by her family that she thought they wouldn't care if she died.

      It was a ploy that she was "struggling" with the colony- she was trying at that point to get the Diamonds disinterested in Earth colonization, trying to make it seem as unviable as possible.

      Mrs.vegeta Diamond I think she's the embodiment of child-like wonder. Which, in children, is adorable and can lead them to being kinder and gentler than adults. However, children aren't good at leading. They can inspire but it's hard for them to actually take responsibility and learn what it means to be unselfish. I don't think Pink was horrible. I think she's the type of person who walks through a crowded room with their arms out, but never realizes their hurting people. They never recognize that their actions have consequences that they may not be equipped to deal with.

    • @advmx3
      @advmx3 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably is, if you look at her size on Jungle Moon and her size at pearl memory, she was double the size by her own. So, I think all the gems grows, they start small. Amethist on the first flashback with greg was so small compared to her now. This may be the reason why Steven isn't growing as fast as we want, because Amethist had years to grow more, and Pink Diamond eons. So, probably the Rose quartz Room will be more explored right now.

    • @Lazypackmule
      @Lazypackmule 6 ปีที่แล้ว +25

      Bubbling bismuth was absolutely the right thing to do
      Rose did her dirty by not telling anyone, but Steven poofed her too, and the others agreed when he told them

    • @gabrielwilliams369
      @gabrielwilliams369 6 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      Lazypackmule Actually I don't believe bubbling Bismuth was the right thing to do. Since we know now that Rose Quartz was Pink Diamond, she probably bubbled Bismuth because Bismuth would have gotten in the way of Rose Quartz staging her shattering. Keep in mind that Bismuth said that her sword can destroy the physical form of a gem, but never the gem itself. With this in mind, Pink Diamond knew, that if Bismuth were to see the staging of the shattering, Bismuth would disregard it as fake, and the plan would fail completely. And since Bismuth knows that she can't destroy a gem's physical form, she probably tried to do it before, hence why she has that form of knowledge in the first place. So as soon as Pink Diamond heard of this information, and Bismuth shared her plan of shattering the Diamonds, she didn't bubble her because it was wrong, she did it so homeworld gems who saw the fake shattering would believe the sword actually was capable of hurting a Diamond. That's why Bismuth said that Steven was better than Rose, because he was the only person to know shattering gems, even diamonds, nomatter how evil they are, was a bad thing. Pink Diamond doesn't care about the diamonds, and would go at many lengths if it meant that she could live on earth forever, even if she had to shatter, herself. So in my opinion, Bismuth took her plan too far, but Rose bubbled her for an entirely different reason. To make gems believe that the sword was that powerful and capable of inflicting great damage to gems, even diamonds.

    • @sarafontanini7051
      @sarafontanini7051 6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      not telling the gems about her was not the right call, as the show itself shows, but everything else? no, Bismuth was at that point practically INSANE, regardless of it'd even work or not, Bismuth was outright more or less planning to commmit GENOCIDE on all non-crystal gems, not JUST the diamonds. SHe was willing to cross a line that Rose Quartz/Pink Diamond never truly crossed: murder, and refused to listen to ANY arguement against this plan.
      Bismuth is bubbled with the corrupted gems for one reason: she's too dangerous and the gemshave no other way of dealing with her for now. Hell if she found out the truth about Pink she might get WORSE.

    For a good amount of time I had your same opinion, especially about the Pearl situation and how she was indeed abused on her trust and love...but I’ve also come to a conclusion.
    RQ/PD is not evil, is childish and immature. Notice in Jungle Moon how she’s not teached the point of why her tantrum is wrong, hell she’s even given a great colony, according to Peridot. Once she has it she discover life is wonderful, but all she hears is about the colony and to complete it. Would have she protested or not, she would not have been listened, she was probably even allowed the compromise of the zoo or the tantrum of bubbling all the other RQ ( I hope a reason is given about that ).
    So she thinks in the wrong way, she starts to be Rose, and now is Rose that is ignored by the Diamonds, and sanctified by the Crystal. Yes Sanctified, because Rose was nothing short than that for them.
    So she sees in her immature ways this is working, someone finally loves her for what she is and not the rank, but at the same time the Diamonds ignore her pleas as both. Sonshe takes the most immature choice ever: to be done as Diamond, thinking that would end the war and then let her live as Rose the Saint.
    You know what happens next, but here’s the problem: in her mind Rose can do no wrong, that’s how she’s depicted, even we before the episode still though she was not perfect, but still the good rebel leader wo saved earth and made the Crystal Gems.
    We have a case of someone who the only place who recieved a no was from the Diamonds, and usually followed still getting her cake. Her relationship with Greg got serious only when he demanded seriousness, made her realize the difference between actual partners and just the novelty he was, when he told her how to make this work.
    RQ/PD is depicted as a childish, immature person that everyone held, in a way or another, in too much esteem to make her realize things that now Steven, not having this “holier than thou” shield, understood and that made him mature in the wonderful and truly caring protagonist we have.
    And yet sometimes, like the trial, he still takes some decision that are wrong, but he has people who teached them to not run from the problems and that made him mature and grow. I don’t need spoilers to know Steven is gonna fix this hell that Rose left behind.
    But I also wish to see Rose’s side. I think it’s unfair to judge a character without her side of the story, especially considering we don’t have the full picture. Like how many Pearl actions that we found exaggerated are now justified and makes us feel even sorry for her, I feel that saying “ Rose is evil “ before even considering all the possibilities of the scenario.
    Oh, and that doesn’t mean she should not actually say she’s sorry. Everything IS indeed her fault, willingly or not, and she should have taken different approaches. Is due time someome would explain her that running doesn’t solve anything and to make amends with the people she hurt...although I feel she may become this “ wrong character “, I feel the serie will take the road of Steven having to fix what her mother broke and helping everyone move from the saint and find their own peace...like he’s pretty much doing from day one actually.

    Vox I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with everything you just said, especially saying the Diamonds weren't wrong. I am all for the talk of how Rose's actions caused a lot of disarray, but it wasn't for nothing, it wasn't evil or malicious. On twitter I saw you say how Rose isnt comparable to Eclispa, but... she is, not to a T, but we're talking about an alien race of people who are intent on destorying life and colonizing the universe. The diamonds, the gems, are essentially one big race of people set on destroying the lives and oppressing those they feel inferior to them, and Rose rejected this. From the beginning of this video you gloss over this, the weight of what Rose REJECTING colonization means. Rose Quartz's character was all about loving and respecting life and learning what it meant to truly be alive and give people, humans, gems that oppourtunity.
    When we timeline it and we see Rose/Pink Diamond, someone who is seen ultimately as a child, and how she'd grown up, matured, and changed from brattily asking for a colony to wanting to protect it... it's INCREDIBLY important.
    She was given what she wanted, and she immediately wanted to protect, learn and cherish it. And it took a very long time for her to properly appreciate what it meant to live on Earth and respect humans, but she cared, she cared to learn and let people live, she sacrified her life for Steven's because that's all she stands for, the right to life.
    She had no way of knowing the Diamonds, the Diamonds who did nothing but berate, scold, and diminish her, would fire back, and really kill everyone in a single blow. Every gem had a choice. Every single one, and they chose to fight for freedom like she did.
    Now do I feel bad for Pearl? Absolutely, thats harsh to go through, but she wasn't manipulated, Pearl had the choice, Rose told her she didn't have to fight, Pearl chose to remain attached and loyal to Rose, Rose Quartz, the one who encouraged her independence and freedom FROM her, and she loved Pearl and Pearl loved her, but Pearl's pain was centered around the chaos caused behind this lie she couldn't share, not the action itself.
    It's truly paining me that with the distate for this twist everyone forgot what Rose Quartz stood for and are suddenly only focusing in on who Pink Diamond was. I have a feeling that's what these new episodes are going to cover, but if Pink Diamond hadn't rebelled, no one would have. No gem would have said a word. No gem would be free from this cookie cutter, controlled, and dark and destructive life style, they would all have remainded slaves because that was their job.
    Of COURSE it took a Diamond to start a rebellion, if she hadn't who know what would have happened to Earth eventually, no gem would have ever known what it meant to have a free will and live their fullest life.
    I am completely disappointed that people are prepared to sympathize with the Diamonds, the colonizers, the Diamonds who were relentless and killed MORE than Rose Quartz ever had as a *petty job* without reason, than with Rose, who ultimately atoned and followed suit with her morals by letting Steven have the oppourtunity to have a life on Earth.
    She had no way of knowing what was coming, or what would transpire, she didn't want to look back, it was naive, but her heart was always, constantly, 100% in the place of giving every living being a chance to be their best selves, and no one should forget that.

    i respect all theories about characters but i cant wrap my mind around pink diamond/rose being a villain. A villain, to me, is someone who goes out of their way to cause harm and destruction to someone or something with the intent of causing harm and destruction.
    We have seen pink diamond twice: once as a child and with this episode reveal. In Stevens vision, she is a child. I know that gems are "born complete", but they (crewniverse) do everything to show that she is a CHILD--she behaves and looks like one. At this time, she looks up to her sister diamonds and wants to do what they do because that is her world and she admires them.
    Now we understand that rose quartz and pink diamond as the same person. She gained this colony as what seems to be a young adult/older teenage, maybe around 19-21 for an age mentality. She has realized that the things on her planet are beautiful--her planet gives gems the ability to be what THEY want to be. She falls in love with the culture, scenery, people, etc., and she wants to protect that. However, with her current status, it can be heavily assumed that she can't convince them to leave the planet alone. She very well could have begged them but we have not seen this in the series. As we saw in the scene of her speaking with Blue+Yellow, we see that they disagree with the Crystal Gems philosophy and want the planet to be destroyed still. That's when we can assume was her turning point and when she made the decision to fake her own death in order to drive the Diamond authority away from the planet.
    -
    However, clearly, she could not predict what would have happened. She wouldn't have known what would have happened when the Diamonds fled and then, as a sucker punch, tried to destroy all of the crystal gem army. She chose to protect her identity in order to prevent the Diamonds from knowing she was still alive and coming back to Earth. She chose to hide her identity from everyone, save for Pearl, to protect them from this knowledge and prevent potential leaks of who she truly was. Most importantly, she WANTED to leave that part of her behind. She didn't want to be a "Diamond" that caused so much destruction and havoc that destroyed worlds and enslaved countless gems... I believe that she underestimated how much Pearl loved her and Pearl is definitely the type to hide her true emotions/feelings (although she flaunts her pride as once being Rose's favorite as we see with Greg in a flashback). All of the stories about Rose Quartz are made up by the Gems on homeworld. All of the stories about Rose Quartz are made up by the Diamonds to prevent others from doing the same rebellions. These stories aren't Rose--these stories are made by a higher power to control everyone below them.. To label her as being evil or a villain based off of these stories, or based off of the consequences on Pearl and the Crystal Gem group that was beyond her control, is unfair to me.
    -
    Yes, she should have been more aware of Pearl. Likewise, Pearl should haven't buried her emotions and ignored them and let them fester to the point where she's "a mess" (as we saw in the pearlception). Yes, she lied to the Crystal Gems about her identity, but this was all to give herself a new life and to prevent others from knowing who she was and coming back to cause more trouble. It was to do more good and protect those around her, and her planet, in the long run. There is no proof or evidence of Pink Diamond/Rose purposely going out to destroy anyone or hurt anyone. And to me THAT'S why she is not a villain. She's made decisions that she unfortunately cannot be around to change or fix, but that's just the reality of it all. It wasn't set up by her with evil or villainous intent.
    -
    I know that some may not agree with this, but this is just my take on it all!

      Dumb comment, it was her own damn decision to have Steven and leave everyone with her baggage they had no way to handle on their own. She knew the most out of everyone and kept the most secrets, but you're saying her leaving and having Steven wasn't intentional? That she had no idea all the pain that decision alone would bring all her loved ones? Stop damage controlling this shit character when you can't even present any sound logic for why she isn't a piece of sh*t

    I won't judge until I have more facts. There has to be a reason for all that she did. We have seen the "First" and "Last" PD but not the "Middle" one. In all good stories you cannot hope to understand the tale told by just reading the beginning and the end, the climax of the stories is in the middle and we are still missing that part, so, until then, I will remain neutral. I'm not mad that RQ is PD, I find it intriguing, because now I want to know the WHY of so many things. Everyone is saying that she just had to tell other diamonds that Earth was hers and she could do as she wanted and then everything would be fine, but, are we sure of that? The other diamonds are shown as narrow minded and strict, so maybe if PD said something the others would simply ignore her and take the colony back or could also decided that her whole colony and all the gems she created were defective and shatter them without a second thought. In this scenario, with the "Middle" still missing, it seems that at least PD gave them a chance to fight... There is so much information still missing (I mean, we don't know ANYTHING of the, supposedly, most important gem: WD), so there is no way we can objectively judge the story if we are missing a very important character
    So, as I said, I'll remain neutral and expectant, up to this point, I'm really intrigued.

    I liked the twist, i admit i disregarded the "rose is pink diamond" theory as a joke so it really smacked me in the face!! Haha
    I just feel really bad for pearl, thousands of years of devotion (regardless of whether it was love or a servants loyalty) and risking EVERYTHING for a life with rose-diamond....only to be pushed to one side :'( all of her outbursts about Rose make so much more sense and are made so. Much. Sadder.
    But overall, while the outcome of pink becoming rose was disasterous...how could she have known? Pink was technically just a kid in diamond years, she brushed off blue and yellow as she didnt think they cared, she probably thought they would just move on and leave the earth. They obviously didnt but who's to say that rose-diamond didnt immediately feel regret and guilt? She may have spent hundreds of years mourning the loss of her soldiers and human life.
    From what has been shown, the battle in the strawberry fields was the last time that homeworld had been on earth up until the series start. So im guessing rose-diamond thought it was safe/time to move on and start a new life, leading to steven. So i dont think she was running away, she was just trying to start her life on the planet earth.
    Anyway these are just my thoughts but i'd love to hear yours!

    • @gerozeal2410
      @gerozeal2410 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I share a similar sentiment. While I agree that a "quick" forgiveness is not a realistic outcome, to hear what was going through Rose-Diamond's mind would help give us a better picture of things. Even to have her acknowledge that she made a lapse of judgement, and that her actions had dire consequences that cost many people a lot, would do her some justice. Honestly, I would chalk her actions to ignorance and inexperience.
      To simply say she is a true villain and did all this with malicious intent while we still don't have a lot of information, is a touch premature.
      Did Rose-Diam make some poor decisions? Oh yes.
      Was she intending to have thousands of gems die? I don't think so; no.
      If she is subconsciously aware within Steven's body, does she regret her actions and has thought about how she could have done things differently? I would hope so.

    I'm sorry dude, but you are inferring every plot detail through sheer disappointment-fueled bias. You can have an opinion, absolutely; however, you are starting to become a touch unfair to the story.
    It's TOO easy to outright assume Pink was maliciously manipulative, especially when you didn't like the twist personally. Steven Universe is character-driven which means each character is and will be complex regardless of where they stand, so Pink Diamond's mental condition isn't something as simple as "evil" and her actions cannot be viewed as simply.
    It's absolutely possible A LOT of it wasn't truly her fault.
    Pink probably took on the form of a Rose Quartz because it was a decent disguise, just another cannon fodder gem she could use to wander about without scrutiny. Honestly, it's clear none of the Diamonds (and probably the agates also) even remotely cared what happens to one Quartz unless they're special like Jasper. She likely learned and engaged with the humans through that way. At first it's possible she convinced the Diamonds to put humans in an enclosure for her to keep, but the idea of total extinction must have led her to pose as a Rose Quartz to work underground to save humans. Pink might have also attempted to persuade the Diamonds to spare the humans, but they likely told her no because they never cared what happens to organic life. This was probably evident in "Can't Go Back" where Blue was scolding Pink for wanting to get rid of the colony, seeing Pink as if she was shirking her duties instead of catching it as a proposition to protect lifeforms. If Pink tried to take complete control of the colony to protect the humans, the other Diamonds would have torn it away from her faster than she could blink. Remember, Pink was the lowest ranked diamond and likely the weakest. She was never on equal terms regardless if she believed she had any equality after being given her first colony. They treated her like a child.
    The only option was to start a rebellion under a disguise to avoid suspicion. It makes the job easy since it's like playing chess against yourself, you don't have to suffer through unforeseen circumstances if you know all the strategies; however, like playing against yourself, the game is also a lot harder to fool others into thinking it as game-play with a separate person. If this is true, Pink needed to pretend she was dealing with the rebellion she began and the task itself must have been arduous, especially for a diamond as naive as her.
    To show she had little reason to shatter her own (or other) gems in the midst of war, she had Bismuth make her a sword that only poofs gems. Know that mostly Homeworld shattered gems.
    With the rebellion having begun by a "Rose Quartz", all the Rose Quartz were bubbled given the assumption they may also behave the same and Pink possibly bubbled them because she could spare them which could have been the closest thing the other Diamonds would allow as the Rose Quartz belonged under Pink. Keep in mind, the rest of the Diamonds would have DESTROYED the Rose Quartz soldiers instead.
    As the war progressed, playing both roles likely became way too complicated and the next best option was to fake her death, relieving her from one role that would have had more consequences if she stayed. Keeping the ruse as a secret would prevent the Crystal Gems from turning their backs and the Diamonds from shattering her for real. Pink didn't anticipate Pearl to suffer from it since the purpose was to win the war and protect Pink.
    She might have believed she was winning the war and the diamonds would back off, but it was likely a terrible mistake to think so. Pink may have miscalculated the extent of the diamond's powers. She was also probably way too deep into the conflict and there was no turning back. Maybe she questioned if saving the humans was important enough to destroy countless lives, yet may have answered it knowing she can only move forward.
    The remaining crystal gems spent the following years capturing corrupted gems because it's possible Pink wanted to cure them and continued looking for ways. It's likely she may have given up down the road, but still had some hope in the back of her mind.
    I'm not defending Pink Diamond out of pity. I'm objectively interpreting the situation as a matter of military tactics conducted by a growing, inexperienced leader who's learning as she goes because of urgency.
    Know that in the face of war, there's no such thing as a victim-less path and some sacrifices can be made (intentional or not, cruel or merciful) to end the conflict sooner. Know that in the face of war, every decision is difficult and every situation is delicate.
    I certainly am not claiming my argument is the most correct or perfect or the true answer to this problem, but it is what I found as I analyzed Pink Diamond.
    (It's a lot to read, so I sectioned my observations to make it easier.)

    I believe pink was the child of the group. She wanted to be like her older diamonds but when she got her colony, there was something different. We saw jungle moon, they had animals but nothing humanoid. But earth had humans. Being that looked like gems without the gem. They were the same but different. And like any other child, she was curious and likely came to love the world she was on. She started out being a good diamond but once she found to love humans, maybe she did confront her diamonds about keeping her earth the way it was. Perhaps it was blue who made the human zoo for her. It was an opportunity for her to be a good diamond and keep what she wanted and i can image it disgusted her. This version of humans the zoo made was not what humanity was about. It treated them like pets. So maybe she had to make a choice. Sure it wasn't the best choice. But she had to make a decision. Be the diamond she was forced to be, or pretend to be one of her own soldiers to protect the earth because she knew if she couldnt colonize the earth, her other diamonds would. They had no sympathy for the life on the planet. We alreayd know how hollow the planets become under the diamonds rule. She needed to make sure they lost the war so they would never attack earth again. The gem war was a necessity in that case. They had to believe they could be shattered by a lower gem. To believe they were not as powerful as they thought they were. That way they could abandon earth. So she turned her diamond self into a monster so her gems would be more inclined to join the crystal gems, to join rose quartz, which is her true persona.
    And i will note 2 things from this video now:
    1. The 3 diamonds using their corruption. Somebody said there was a plot hole but i doubt it. It takes time for a gem to reform after proofing. Its likely the corruption took place after the event, the diamonds probably didnt hear about it the same day. Then again they did and likely had to discuss what to do, go through their shock.
    2. She probably bubbled all the rose quartz because she couldn't allow them to notice how powerful she was. She probably didn't want to do that but she did. Because she is a very over powered rose. Healing tears, floating, incredible shield. Shes a diamond. Shes over powered. Being able to rotate her gem must be hard to do for any other gem. But again, diamond. We also know when a gem reforms, they can change their appearance. Hence the new clothes the characters had. So its possible choosing the rose quartz form when she was poofed was a permanent change. She didnt have to shape shift anymore. She would never use her diamond form again.
    I don't believe pink/rose was evil. She could have never seen the course her actions would take. We know how limited sapphires future sight is. She did what she had to do to make the diamonds afraid, to make them avoid the earth. She probably had no clue about the gem weapon too. If it happened after her poofing, then she had no contact with them, she had no idea what they would be doing once she took on rose for good. Sure alot of bad came from her choices but every choice has a consequence. That is the nature of war. Pink made her choice to save the world she loved and became rose. Everything had a reason.

But I do think that may be best way to think of this. Perhaps... Just perhaps, if Steven can see visions of Pink's past, he might try to go deeper through his dreams to find the truth & confront Pink. He did it before with Malachite, why not his own gem?
