Jasper is the opposite of PD. PD is a runt of the Diamonds, Jasper is a perfect gem of the highest caliber as expected of a quartz. PD sabotaged her own colony and created off-colors to make gems leave the Earth in an effort to save it.
Even if Jasper was "the perfect gem" coming from those origins is still a disgraceful for her (and for HW), she had to fight and constantly prove how strong is she, she doesn't feel perfect at all, she still saw herself as someone who isn't enough, she lived to the high expectations of everyone else and herself, I think she could get a long with Pink

We need to remember that pink was playing both sides for a while. I believe that jasper met pink and pink fed her all sorts of praise. This is sad because how many others did pink do this to just to save face? Also, yellow probably was looking at jasper like someone would look at a dead loved ones dog, "it's my only connection to pink that's left"

Pink wasn't off colored !!!* People have speculated that she came out way too small and that she shapeshifted into a bigger version of herself every time she came into contact with her subjects, because an off-color Diamond is an irreversible stain on Homeworld's image (or, more specifically, the image of the Diamonds' flawlessness). But in the last few moments of A Single Pale Rose, right after Steven texted Pearl that he found her phone, we get to see the actual "shattering" happen. And there we see Pink Diamond being small as she always has been! If she knew that some of her subjects were in front of her palanquin, there's no way she would just walk outside like that. Another thing that adds to this is that White is considerably bigger than Yellow and Blue. No one questions why White is bigger or why Blue and Yellow are smaller. I don't think it wasn't intended for Pink to be smaller. Pink was never an off color.
But it could make it's own theory. See White Diamond took alot of resources to use probably knockout or destroyed a whole planet. Yellow and Blue came next and after that resources were probably nonrenewable. So in order for more colonies and more planets to be taken over they need 4 diamonds. Pink came next with all of there last "diamond resources". Maybe that's why Pink Diamond is Pink instead of Red but that would make her off color so maybe not....
If PD met Jasper, I think the reason Jasper is the way she is because she thought PD died because of her flaws. I could see her thinking along the lines of "if she was made perfect like me she wouldnt have died" thats why her thing is about being perfect and your not strong enough if you arent

Gaming Master Anthony no she knows now. She has called him Steven not rose when fused with Lapis. She had to have seen lapis's thoughts or memories of steven when fused with her. That wasnt enough though. Upon realizing Steven thought she was talking about yellow diamond right before she became corrupted, I think she finally realized at the end steven didnt know what she was talking about and therefore isnt rose. That being said I do see her taking a liking to steven when she finds out he has PD gem.

Jasper said "i've been fighting ever sence i burst from the ground, BECAUSE of what you did to my planet, BECAUSE of what you did to my colony, BECAUSE what you did to my Diamond" Doesnt this mean Jasper came out around the same time, just after Pink was shattered? maybe her care for pink is more from her own self loathing for not being there, for not doing what the strongest Quartz soldier ever should have done, for not being able to do the most important job of her life, because she came out too late. she is resentfull because despite her perfection, her greatest role was taken from her, her home taken from her, her diamond taken from her before she could even serve her. jasper in short resents not knowing her diamond, while having ever right to have known her, just like steven could never have personally met his mom. steven and jasper here are like paralleled opposites of the same thing
There's a hole in your theory actually. Eyeball Ruby emerged after Jasper, and Eyeball was one to witness Pink Diamond's shattering. Therefore, Jasper could've been there to witness that event. Did Jasper meet PD? Well, I believe not all gems have that marvelous opportunity to meet their diamonds, unless they're elite. Notice the palanquins have curtains too. So, no maybe they never met personally, from a distance, yeah maybe.
The shattering of PD happened at the end of the war though, it's what caused the diamonds to lauch that final attack that corrupted all the gems that were on Earth. I think she means that, ever since the PD shattering happened, Jasper used the anger and guilt to fuel her work for Yellow ("i've been fighting ever since i burst from the ground" shows continuity in the action).

Jasper said she never met Rose Quartz in combat, with recent revelations there might be a deeper meaning to that now. Maybe Pink was intentionally keeping Jasper as far away from her Rose persona as humanly possible. Fear maybe but I wouldn't rule out a possibility of pride either, she might not have wanted her perfect quartz to get damaged.
It all started as a rebellion and later with the amount of followers it became a war that last more that 1000 years, consideration that HW gems were running away in panic (Monster Reunion, A whole new world) the attacked of the Diamonds wasn't planned, and was most likely a respond to Pink Diamond being "shattered"
If Pink Damond really wanted to get rid of Jasper, it'd have been stupid easy. Just send her on a solo mission, as Pink Diamond, then ambush her. I'm sure Rose could have taken out Jasper by herself. And Rose with Garnet would be no contest. I think you're adding too much evil to Pink Diamond. The whole point of the series is that good and evil are almost never that simple.
However its also just as likely that Jasper was across the battlefield from "Rose" and saw the shattering from a distance. This could also be why she feels so horrible about it. If she had been better and stronger she could have destroyed the gems in her way.

Well, when your main character's mother is a two faced liar who put herself before every single person around her, willing to destroy her mothers' hearts, mentally abuse her pearl, lie to all of home world and her troops, and allowed her fallen, corrupted allies to be ignored while she went around getting dick, the show's not gonna be a nice happy ride.
I think Pink was the only one who cared for her Gems. The others seem to only care as long as the Gem is useful and obeys. Remember home world society is more mechanical with the emphasis on purpose. Yellow want Jasper back because she failed and wanted to make her pay. Pink never wanted anyone to get hurt thus she never shattered gems. It is true she cared for all life.

I always thought that she looked smaller in Jungle Moon because she was more childish. Like how Steven's age changes based on his mental state. That had to come from somewhere. So if Pink looked smaller then, it's because she was more mentally childish. But she grew up a bit when she finally got her own colony.
fairymairah well her diamond was shattered and she never recovered from that. She spent months trapped in a mental hellscape where it's implied that lapis tortured her. Which left her so traumatized she is constantly seen in the water afterwards. She became so obsessed with corrupted gems because I think she knew what they were and had a need to feel some level gem familiarity. Only to be defeated by a character that treated her like a joke and was another traumatized point being fusion. To the point it lead to her becoming corrupted. Whatever is happening to her now has got to be insanity only to now find out her entire purpose for existing was a lie. It's one after the other. I feel bad for her in the same way I feel bad for the Ice King. I have more emotional investment with her than I have with Steven for years.
In a single pale rose. When Steven is in pearlseption when he sees pearl crying while shapeshifted into rose, right before beaming Steven into her gem, she looks off screen because you hear a very loud scream. If you listen to it, it’s recognizable, it’s Jasper’s voice.

I think if Jasper gets a redemption arc, it should be similar to the diamonds. Like she starts off with calling her "My Diamond" and only hanging around with Steven and the Crystal Gems because she belongs to her/him (Steven) but like the diamonds, realizing that they are different people.
What if Pink was playing Jasper along with Pearl? She could've done that to either distract her from what Rose Quartz was doing. Even to the point of seducing Jasper to make her think Pink had valued the gem greatly. In turn, Jasper would fight for Pink like Pearl had done with Rose.
I'm just eager to get a clear timeline of events, because there are a lot of theories that need the one thing or another to happen before or after Pink Diamond is shattered. Jasper emerging is a big event that needs a clearly defined place in the timeline.
What if Jasper turned out the way she is because no matter how perfect she came out of the ground, how powerful she was, how good of a quarts soldier she was, maybe Pink Diamond just straight up ignored her achievements in the war and that made Jasper crave Pink Diamond's approval even more and therefore taking her inner anger on the battlefield.
My theory on why pink was so small at first is because when the diamonds are born they have no planets concord and they more concord the more they grow and As for pink diamond case since she only had earth and the moon she slightly grown.
I just hope that when the arc starts, Yellow Diamond is still there to help explain everything. She is the only gem I think Jasper would listen to, and it would be interesting to see the contrast between Yellow's relief and Jasper's probable breakdown.
Honestly, I want to see Jasper join the crystal gems for three reasons 1. We already have Lapis and Peridot on the crystal gems, so why not jasper? 2. It could lead to a more stable fusion of malachite, which would be pretty cool. 3. THAT WOULD MEAN 36 POSSIBLE CRYSTAL GEM FUSIONS!
Also a lot of the gems coming out wrong could also help persuade blue and yellow diamond that the Earth was not a suitable colony because every gem made there was flawed

But she fell in love with the life there and the freedom it enjoyed and realized colonization meant the destruction of said life. So she tried finding excuses to leave the planet. The other diamonds didn't listen. She grew desperate. Realizing that there were gems unhappy with their lot in life or were just rejected for being off color she devised a plan, one that would not only save the planet bit provide said off color gems a home. She figured a rebellion of gems would convince the diamonds to back off the planet. It didnt. She refused to allow the crystal gems to shatter other gems. She refused to kill. She was backed into a corner and forced into a last resort tactic, faking her death. She had no way of knowing the diamonds would go so far, be so cruel. She had posed as rose because she knew that the crystal gems hated the diamonds. It didnt matter that she wanted their freedom, she was still a diamond. So she made her final order to pearl be to keep her secret. She tried for thousands of years afterwards to reverse the damage the other diamonds had done to the gems on earth. She was a good person whose actions led to unfortunate consequences that garnet didn't even predict.
I have a few theories I would love to hear your thoughts on about the diamonds, mainly pink. What if diamonds grow in size over time based on age or better yet based on the size of their courts? It would explain pinks size difference in general plus her vrowth spurt from jungle moon

liking the idea is fine but believing its a likely path for the show to go down is the problem. this "theory" would make a good fan fic but is very unlikely to ever be true.
I listened but didn't really agree with it. Like, that way of thinking about Rose only works if you go through the Doug Walker way of reasoning: seeing what you like and throwing away everything that seems insignificant even though it plays a part. I mean, between Rose's Scabbard and We Need To Talk alone, we have more than one side of what Rose/Pink was thinking. Otherwise it's way too presumptuous to know wha was going on in PD's mind.
It's likely more to inspire fan interest, which is cool, but the whole "ROSE IS THE TRUE VILLAIN" angle is eye roll worthy. There's SO MUCH of other diamond motivation and theory that can be explored.
I NOTICED SOMETHING. In a Sing Pale Rose, the flashback before the last one, when "Rose shatters" Pink Diamond, you can hear a 'NOOOO!' in the backround. The voice sounds very scratchy like Jasper's so yeah, Jasper was there!

That wasnt enough though. Upon realizing Steven thought she was talking about yellow diamond right before she became corrupted, I think she finally realized at the end steven didnt know what she was talking about and therefore isnt rose. That being said I do see her taking a liking to steven when she finds out he has PD gem.

The shattering of PD happened at the end of the war though, it's what caused the diamonds to lauch that final attack that corrupted all the gems that were on Earth. I think she means that, ever since the PD shattering happened, Jasper used the anger and guilt to fuel her work for Yellow ("i've been fighting ever since i burst from the ground" shows continuity in the action).

Jasper said she never met Rose Quartz in combat, with recent revelations there might be a deeper meaning to that now. Maybe Pink was intentionally keeping Jasper as far away from her Rose persona as humanly possible. Fear maybe but I wouldn't rule out a possibility of pride either, she might not have wanted her perfect quartz to get damaged.

It all started as a rebellion and later with the amount of followers it became a war that last more that 1000 years, consideration that HW gems were running away in panic (Monster Reunion, A whole new world) the attacked of the Diamonds wasn't planned, and was most likely a respond to Pink Diamond being "shattered"
If Pink Damond really wanted to get rid of Jasper, it'd have been stupid easy. Just send her on a solo mission, as Pink Diamond, then ambush her. I'm sure Rose could have taken out Jasper by herself. And Rose with Garnet would be no contest. I think you're adding too much evil to Pink Diamond. The whole point of the series is that good and evil are almost never that simple.

I always thought that she looked smaller in Jungle Moon because she was more childish. Like how Steven's age changes based on his mental state. That had to come from somewhere. So if Pink looked smaller then, it's because she was more mentally childish. But she grew up a bit when she finally got her own colony.

fairymairah well her diamond was shattered and she never recovered from that. She spent months trapped in a mental hellscape where it's implied that lapis tortured her. Which left her so traumatized she is constantly seen in the water afterwards. She became so obsessed with corrupted gems because I think she knew what they were and had a need to feel some level gem familiarity. Only to be defeated by a character that treated her like a joke and was another traumatized point being fusion. To the point it lead to her becoming corrupted. Whatever is happening to her now has got to be insanity only to now find out her entire purpose for existing was a lie. It's one after the other. I feel bad for her in the same way I feel bad for the Ice King. I have more emotional investment with her than I have with Steven for years.

I think if Jasper gets a redemption arc, it should be similar to the diamonds. Like she starts off with calling her "My Diamond" and only hanging around with Steven and the Crystal Gems because she belongs to her/him (Steven) but like the diamonds, realizing that they are different people.
What if Pink was playing Jasper along with Pearl? She could've done that to either distract her from what Rose Quartz was doing. Even to the point of seducing Jasper to make her think Pink had valued the gem greatly. In turn, Jasper would fight for Pink like Pearl had done with Rose.

I'm just eager to get a clear timeline of events, because there are a lot of theories that need the one thing or another to happen before or after Pink Diamond is shattered. Jasper emerging is a big event that needs a clearly defined place in the timeline.

What if Jasper turned out the way she is because no matter how perfect she came out of the ground, how powerful she was, how good of a quarts soldier she was, maybe Pink Diamond just straight up ignored her achievements in the war and that made Jasper crave Pink Diamond's approval even more and therefore taking her inner anger on the battlefield.
My theory on why pink was so small at first is because when the diamonds are born they have no planets concord and they more concord the more they grow and As for pink diamond case since she only had earth and the moon she slightly grown.

1. We already have Lapis and Peridot on the crystal gems, so why not jasper?
2. It could lead to a more stable fusion of malachite, which would be pretty cool.

This and with what Peridot says at the beginning of the episode when they arrive to the kindergarten "halfway through the Rebellion they were scrambling for soldiers" it's more than possible that pink diamond was already shattered and living the life as Rose Quartz full time. But she fell in love with the life there and the freedom it enjoyed and realized colonization meant the destruction of said life. So she tried finding excuses to leave the planet. The other diamonds didn't listen. She grew desperate. Realizing that there were gems unhappy with their lot in life or were just rejected for being off color she devised a plan, one that would not only save the planet bit provide said off color gems a home. She figured a rebellion of gems would convince the diamonds to back off the planet. It didnt. She refused to allow the crystal gems to shatter other gems. She refused to kill. She was backed into a corner and forced into a last resort tactic, faking her death. She had no way of knowing the diamonds would go so far, be so cruel. She had posed as rose because she knew that the crystal gems hated the diamonds. It didnt matter that she wanted their freedom, she was still a diamond. So she made her final order to pearl be to keep her secret. She tried for thousands of years afterwards to reverse the damage the other diamonds had done to the gems on earth. She was a good person whose actions led to unfortunate consequences that garnet didn't even predict.

liking the idea is fine but believing its a likely path for the show to go down is the problem. this "theory" would make a good fan fic but is very unlikely to ever be true.
I listened but didn't really agree with it. Like, that way of thinking about Rose only works if you go through the Doug Walker way of reasoning: seeing what you like and throwing away everything that seems insignificant even though it plays a part. I mean, between Rose's Scabbard and We Need To Talk alone, we have more than one side of what Rose/Pink was thinking. Otherwise it's way too presumptuous to know wha was going on in PD's mind.
It's likely more to inspire fan interest, which is cool, but the whole "ROSE IS THE TRUE VILLAIN" angle is eye roll worthy. There's SO MUCH of other diamond motivation and theory that can be explored.
