If you've read Harry Potter, it's basically a Dumbledore type situation. Dumbledore "plans" for Harry were awful. The key is, Dumbledore never makes Harry do anything. Harry is just the kind of guy who does what is right. Pink Diamond left Steven a life to do whatever he wanted with. If he wants to take care of everyone, and save gemkind, Pink left him the equipment to do that. It's not his "destiny" though. Nothing is forcing him to do it - Pink just knows that as Greg's son, he is the kind of person that would choose to do what is right.
I disagree. I don't think Dumbledore would've hesitated to kill Harry to save the entire world, if it really came down to it. He had faith, knowing Harry, that he would do the right thing - but if Harry had been a slightly different person, I don't think Dumbledore would've been that complacent. Harry never really had a choice; it was either do the right thing himself or someone else would've for sure taken him down. He just chose the easier path rather than fighting it. Also Steven might not be being "forced" but he's being pretty heavily influenced. He was raised by Rose's army, who have (intentionally or not) brainwashed him since birth into believing it IS his job. Or at least, the job of all "Crystal Gems", and since that term is heavily associated with his loved ones, of COURSE he wants to be one too. He is also ACTIVELY being attacked by gems from childhood. They're not going to stop coming for him if he suddenly decides he wants to join the circus. At what point did Steven really have a choice? If a person makes a choice based on their worldview, but they also literally don't KNOW anything outside of that single path- is that REALLY free will? If a born and bred slave chooses to return to their former master, can you say with confidence that they made that choice freely?
@@LordofFullmetal I mean that's basically like any person in a family defined by a trade or profession. Steven isn't much different than a Military brat inspired by his Veteran parents to become a Soldier. the Crystal gems we're very cautious with Steven joining them in the beginning. They didn't really want him to go on missions. The Crystal Gems only started to seriously train him after homworld returned and they had to fight an external force. Before that they just wanted him to be a human kid. As well what's Steven alternative Homeworld? where they view organics as inferior and harvest their planets for resources. The only reason he isn't a pariah hated for being a hybrid is because he's Pink Diamond. Otherwise the Diamonds would have executed him on the spot for just breathing. Rose plan was probably just hopes that Steven raised by Greg would want to resolve the conflict. Or If Homeworld ever returned he'd have a path to peace.
I feel like he’s similar to a Harry Potter character but I feel like it’s also fair to argue Dumbledore screwed the pooch on this one. In the actual books and movies, Dumbledore gives Harry an idea of what he’s asking, a solid goalie, idea, and prophecy. But for Steven, from birth he was reliant on other people’s words of his mother and his own character. This might have we better in the long run but I feel like it’s obviously messed him up a bit. He was also a lot less prepared than he could have been which almost killed him several times.
Is it weird that I want to see the exact scene where Steven's born/Rose(Pink) gives up her form? Like does she shapeshift? Fade away? Actually give birth and then fade away? I've always wondered.
This is a kids show on Cartoon Network. They wouldn't show someone actually giving birth, so we could assume that it'd be something dumb like Rose making a bubble around herself, blocking herself from sight, and coming out as baby Steven. And that's if they'd even show it.
The people of this world seem more naturally inclined to believe in magic than to fear it. After all, humans fought alongside Gems in the war for Earth. Surely that war is in the history textbooks somewhere. And alien technology could have been seen as magic 5,000 years ago, let alone the real magic the Gems possess. Not to mention the fact that there are corrupted Gems wandering the Earth in places Steven has yet to visit. Surely people have seen those throughout the course of time.
@@megashadowmew I'm pretty sure it was established early on that humans in the SU world are naturally inclined to *avoid* Gem-related magical events. For example when they went to retrieve the Shooting Star in season 1, there was a *human skeleton* in the caves. Which implied that most humans that got too close died (aka "curiosity killed the cat"), leading to a natural selection of humans that avoided magical things. People like Connie and Ronaldo are an exception to this.
Quick reminder, for a point no one ever brings up in this discussion. Rebecca Sugar confirmed in reddit posts around the time we got Rose's tape to Steven, that Steven was made the way he was on purpose. Rose was completely capable of having human children with Greg. Rose was AWARE she was able to have completely human children with other humans. All she would have to do is shapeshift the right parts (this is often brought up in discussions over Mystery Girl, that Rose might have miscellaneous descendants scattered through history.) But children conceived in such a way are 100% non magical humans who grow old and die. Sugar specified that Rose made the choice to give birth to Steven the way she did, giving up her form and giving him her gem, specifically SO he would be half gem, knowing full well she could have and could raise 100% human children. just throwing that out there as further proof.
So if she can fully reproduce complete human babies, then... the mystery girl that they met in one of the episode, sabina is the name i think, is her daughter from another man thus making her steven's half sister? But naah everybody can color their hair now so it might be impossible
"it is discussed that Rose might have miscellaneous descendants scattered through history". I think that if she actually had any children before she wouldn't ask Greg where did he get that "mini human" from (Sourcream), like she doesn't know what a child is.
@MARTIN OLLO VAL You didn't get it. Picture a Lapis Lazuli on a random planet somewhere in this big Universe. Doing her thing. Who knows what kind of (organic/giant/powerful, etc.) locals would have cornered her and attacked her? Maybe they were more powerful than her, who knows? There are so many unexplainable and illogical things in this show, it's ridiculous. Not to mention gems are set on the goal of terraforming and colonization, so a war against the locals is highly probable. I started by loving this show, but seeing Sugar's approach which defies the very own rules her fictional universe established, made me hate it in the end.
@@Chrissty120 first of all gems don’t have natural reproductive organs, why would they if it served no purpose since they aren’t organic and would never really have a need to reproduce, the diamonds wouldn’t see a point in them so they wouldn’t create gems with those organs, I’m pretty sure that rose needed to shapeshift to get one if memory serves me correct, second, it’s a fictional show and as the creator, Sugar is the strict rules for the fictional humans and gems, and unless she herself disproves it it’s true, of course I could be wrong but I have confidence that I’m right
Something of note about both Pearl and Garnet: Rose did the crossing-hands thing to both of them. For Pearl, Rose told her to "never speak of this," and so she was forced never to speak a word about that day PD offed herself. In that same manner, Rose crossed Garnet's hands together and told her "no more questions," and what has Garnet NEVER done in the series? Ask a single question. She even says during one episode, when Pearl asks if they should ask about something, "I can't."
She says "don't ever question this", actually... which is an important distinction, because the "this" IS Garnet. and Garnet DOES end up questioning Garnet. So I don't think your comparison works.
@@LordofFullmetal Well, technically the full quote is "No more questions. Don't ever question this," so I guess it could go either way, but I can see where I went wrong.
Guilt? Steven's powers are affected by his emotions the same way Rose's were, except at the time he didn't have the same guilt holding him back as Rose did.
@@missingtexturez Possibly. Or it could be related to the fact that organic life is needed to create gems, because gem production sucks the ecosystems dry, charging up the gem for the rest of its existence. Perhaps somehow, the energy in a gem fades over time, meaning that the powers would weaken and lessen over time. Its possible that somehow steven is recharging the gem with his organic body, causing the powers to amplify as the gem regains its lost power.
corruption is very much a mental damage in my opinion, and steven is more than anyone able to emphasize with those around him. he also took steps to bond with the corrupted gem, not seeing it as a "monster" but as a friend. it wasn't all that was needed but that ability to understand and heal some of the hurt they felt along with the kindness sort of cleared the fog a bit to help centi. shame she didn't stick around steven more after fully healed
So, hear me out. What if Steven is teach everyone how to "Love like you" meaning how humans love. Because while she is trapped right now, Pink diamond will still live forever, where as Steven is organic. His body will eventually decay and out will come Pink diamond. But she will have a while new perspective on love and so may the other gems.
Or............if you've ever seen twilight were Bella has Renesmeee Bella dies and then later comes back. And then Steven will get to keep his powers and have a normal belly button. Rose dies and then later comes back.
Nah, that would completely and fundamentally change the show and would generally be a bad direction to take the show in, especially with only 1 season after this left.
Big Doodle Makes sense, but are you sure there is only one season? It isn’t confirmed season six is the very last season. We might have a season seven, especially since there’s tons of plot lines to follow.
Idea: Steven gives up his gem (or, if we want things a little darker, White Diamond rips it out of his stomach) for Pink/Rose to return. Steven either dies, or just loses ALL of his gem abilities. It’s a pretty big sacrifice. Rose reforms, she has a big emotional moment with Steven, (if he’s dead, she would revive him) and then together, Rose and Steven will take down White Diamond. They could fuse together in order to successfully do this, and shockingly, once they unfuse, Steven realises that his gem is back on his stomach and that Rose is nowhere in sight. Once again, she gave herself up. But even though it was short, Steven treasured the meeting he did have with his mother. Or, if we take away the last part, Steven could just be gemless forever like a normal human. But that would be a huge turn of events.
Wait, if Steven didn't have his gem/gem abilities then I feel like he wouldn't be able to fuse anymore..? I mean, I thought the only reason he could fuse with Connie is because he's half human and half gem. That's why Greg and Rose couldn't fuse, because one was completely human and the other was completely jem. It was only the mix of those two properties that made it possible for Steven to fuse with humans and gems. If he got the jem part of him removed then I don't think he'd be able to fuse anymore, sadly.
Or she saw children and wanted that human experience?? Maybe she knew Steven could fix things but I think ultimately she just wanted to experience having her own kid.
@@forestrose244 okay that makes sense and i get what your saying but wording it as saying she wanted to experience HAVING her own kid makes things confusing and slightly false with what we know from the show

Finally someone who thought of the same thing I did after A SINGLE PALE ROSE. When almost everyone else was ripping into pink diamond calling her terrible and evil I thought "she must have had a plan". I believe rose chose Greg because of his kindness and empathy. She knew Steven would be in good hands between Greg and the crystal gems. And she knew that he might be able to get through to the diamonds as well.
Idk the eternal one after Lars "died" kinda annoyed me for a bit longer. I guess at this point I just don't care anymore. All these hiatuses made me quite detached from the overall series.
Fräulein Zuckerguss exactly I'm the same wAy.. I don't even care anymore about the series as much b/c for a show like that to have all these hiatuses makes no sense to me. If infinity train is the same way I'm not even going to deal with it. B/c CN is just advertising this show very poorly and killing the show. I'm glad this show got a movie but I highly doubt that it was make it to theaters since CN doesn't barely show this show. I don't like that ttg hit a theater movie but it's understandable since they show that show like crazy and they advertise the heck outta that show. With SU nope and I just don't care anymore. When I seen a video that lily Peet made a few weeks ago perfectly describes how I be feeling with these hiatuses.. Also people love to attack people for having a opinion about something they don't like about the show. I hate these fucken hiatuses and I can't stand how the network is treating the show..

Apparently he doesn’t know the lines: “Yes we know that you not her but you were her, you know what it meant to love her, and you remind us so much of her...” or the song come live with us in the palace
Looking back, I used to think that the ending song "Love Like You" was sung by pearl to maybe pink diamond because it made sense. But now I think its Pink singing to Steven and honestly if thats the case thats so heartwarming
I've always seen it as Rose singing to Greg, as he was showing her how to love in a human way, and how his love for her was so special, going deeper than the surface of "I love you" only because you are family, or "I love you" because you are my diamond.
I went into this video with a great deal of skepticism. I had heard mentions of Rose/Pink having a ’plan’ for Steven before, and it never sat all too well with me for some reason. I think it was because A) Pink didn’t leave the impression of someone who would make such a multi-layered plan. She seemed more like someone who acted on emotion, rather than rationale. And B) I felt that it undermined Steven’s accomplishments. If everything he had done, bringing Greg and Pearl together, helping Amethyst and Garnet grow as people, make the Crystal gems stronger as a team, reveal the truth… if all of that was just Pink’s plan, then it wasn’t really Steven’s accomplishments… they would be Pink’s. I feel like that would invalidate a lot of the emotion and growth, and simply turn everything into a game. That and the hints we got in Lion 4 left me with the impression that Rose/Pink fully intended for Steven to live his own life, to shape his own destiny. That there wasn’t some great plan or magic gem destiny for him, only what he chooses for himself. And I think that is a valuable message, and that it fits well with the show’s themes. THAT SAID, this video does bring up a lot of good points, and you did address the conclusion from Lion 4. I am not still quite sure what to believe (I suppose only time will tell… eventually), there might be something to the idea that ™Rose/Pink had a plan for Steven.’ My take on it is that, yes, Rose/Pink did leave Lion and her other things for Steven, and yes, she may have very well foreseen* the possibility of him being able to help the Crystal Gems, I still think she wanted it to be up to Steven to decide. If he was truly going to be his own being, his own experience, then he couldn’t have a destiny planned by another hanging over him. In the end, he decides what he becomes. *just to clarify, I don’t think Rose/Pink actually ’foresaw’ as much as she ’had a hunch.’ As I said before, Pink to me appeared as someone who thought with their emotions, not their brains. She may simply have had a feeling that Steven could help fix her mistakes, as opposed to having a complex motive involving several moving parts.
@@AB-dd7st Not really. Connie mentions a "Grand Destiny", but at the time she knew nothing about Gems. Connie's words stayed with Steven, and he convinced himself that he had a destiny. Lion 4 was a episode made to show the audience that Steven dose not have any destiny.
I agree. It was a whim. PD was almost always a creature of impulse and whimsical decisions. I do think through the gem war and such, she began to learn her actions have consequences, BUT I don't think she realized how fully the consequences of her actions would fall on her son.
Your "cheesy take" is okay, as far as it goes, but the question then becomes "What KIND of cheese?" Will it be a runny, warm cream cheese which connects all the desperate elements of the plot in a overly sappy and happy, rainbows and unicorns ending? ...or will it be a sharp cheddar of an ending with more war and destruction?
I am hoping for more of an in between factor, a bit of conflict but peace at the end, but not as sappy as twilight. More of a grudging respect peace. Sort of like squeaky cheese kind of take on this.
My theory: Rose, in the video she left Steven, KNEW she'd disappear when Steven was born. HOW DID SHE KNOW THAT? Answer: She witnessed it herself. I think Sabine, or the person Pearl saw on the motorcycle who looked like Rose, was a child of one of Pink Diamond's Rose Quartz soldiers. Therefore, she got the idea of having a child of her own from that.
I think one of the over arcing themes is that 'no one is perfect' Rose was first portrayed as this perfect sweet and loving being. And steven is slowly learning that she had her faults like anyone else.
Well, I think Steven himself would probably be the decider of that. There's only three ways he could potentially die; 1) he receives a physical injury that either instantaneously kills his physical body or one that injures it so badly that Steven can't recover from it. Any regular wound wouldn't work on Steven because of his healing powers. It would have to be something he couldn't recover from. 2) The gem is removed and/or shattered. In Bubbled, Eyeball wanted to remove Steven's gem. Steven wondered what would actually happen to him if that happened, but we haven't gotten a defined answer. However, one of two things would likely occur. Due to the fact that Rose/Pink had to give up her physical form in order for Steven to live, I imagine that her gem in Steven acts as a "heart" of sorts. If it were removed or shattered, he would either die or he would be injured. We don't actually know if it's the case of the gem being his sole heart or if he also has a human heart, but either way would be bad. If it's the former, then any removal of the gem would cause his body to die. If it's the latter, then the removal of the gem wouldn't cause him to immediately die, but he'd likely lose his gem abilities and having a gaping hole in his stomach he'd probably die from. 3) Steven wants to die. Steven's natural defense mechanisms are his shield and his bubble. They've saved him from drowning, accidents, when he was stranded in space, hard and heavy hits, etc. Then there's also the fact that his body hasn't really aged physically in 6 years. Then, of course, there was So Many Birthdays, where Steven's mentality and emotions changed his physical age. If Steven wanted to, in reality, he could live forever (if he avoided a physical fatal injury to his body or if the removal of his gem was avoided). However, unlike the other Gems, he is capable of death if he so chooses. Aging himself up till he dies, shapeshifting into something else, refusing to use his shield or bubble, etc. The likelihood of Steven actually dying is rather slim. He has about the same amount of near immortality the other gems have, with the exception that he does have a vulnerable physical body and gem. He's been able to protect both pretty splendidly so far. So chances are the only way he would actually die is if, again, he's injured fatally to the point where he can't be saved, the gem is removed, or if he chooses. Even if Steven did actually die, if the death wasn't from gem removal/shattering, chances are it would eventually reform into Pink/Rose.
I don’t think that Rose really did have a plan. After all, the only reason Homeworld even came back to Earth was because Lapis was freed. If Lapis had never been freed from her mirror, then Steven would have lived his entire life not even knowing about Homeworld (although it might’ve been cut short due to the cluster).
I think Lion shows too much intelligence to have been 'trained'. I do not think we are seeing training, I think we are seeing a sentient awareness of context and conscious guiding of events. Though I still suspect Bismuth wasn't there just out of guilt for steven to find, but as a bit of insurance. Depending on what happened next, steven may or may not have needed some option like the breaking point, so having her there meant that tool would be available to him.
Me before watching this video: she probably just wanted the ultimate human experience... Me after watching this video: holy crap, I thought of all this as two separate concepts never really realising that they could be merged into one big theory. I knew that Stephen seems to be the answer to all the problems, he was able to bring everyone together. I also knew that pink diamond wanted to have her son. I never thought that they could be linked like that. It really makes me wonder if pink knew all along that this would happen. I also like how you did not portray this as a selfish act on her part, but rather, from her point of view Something that would help everyone in the long run that required her to sacrifice herself to be accomplished. I think, if this was the case, this isn't pink running away from her problems and leaving someone else to do the work for her. She knew that in her current state she could not do anything more than she already had. Pink diamond wasn't enough, not even Rose Quartz was enough anymore. She needed something new, something different, someone that would bind everyone together. I'm sure she still wanted to have her son because you know, the experience and everything, i'm sure she didn't want him just so he could fix everything. She really wanted her son. But she also knew that he was the answer. She knew that this would help everyone. She knew that in order to do this, she would have to sacrifice her physical form and erase herself from the picture, but also that in doing this she would be able to help everyone and bring everyone together once and for all. She knew there would be challenges but she knew they would be solvable. She entrusted that everything would go smoothly in the end and it did. I'm so glad And also, one thing that I think can be added to this theory: this is completely explains why pearl did not know about lion! If she had, well you know, he was the only one who knew the secret plan so...
this is so beautifully done I love the entire like thought process behind this theory it's so heartwarming and it shows like a different side of pink that nobody really gets to see. Or has he even thought about!!
The vibe I'm getting is that PD only saw it as a possibility and she probably only wanted to experience to have kids, but in case that her son would try to fix the problems that she was unable to, she left him tools that might help him resolve the problems and it was probably Steven's choice to help everyone or not and it was probably not some magical destiny.
Was Greg really unaware of who Rose really was? Some of the things he's said make it seem like he at least had suspicions that Rose was hiding something from him.
I was doing fine in the steven universe hiatus because i was watching my hero academia but now season 3 is over 😥 and i have nothing to watch and i am dieng ... please rebecca lasagna sugar stop this hiatus 😥😥😥
Yow Yoh If you need something awesome to watch, might I suggest the anime “Land of the Lustrous” The main characters are humanoid gems (and 1 human) and it has a rich story that is binge worthy. You can watch it on Amazon if you have Prime or on Kissanime =^.^=
If you need something wholesome for sad days I'd suggest "Wander Over Yonder". Episodic and the first few episodes might annoy you a bit but it only gets better! Especially season 2 which does have a bit of a plot.
I actually really like this episode. For a while in the hiatus I haven’t been feeling the content on this channel and have felt that Vox has been a little “forced” in hosting but this one was super genuine. Good job guys!
I 100% approve this theory!! I absolutely love it, especially as I believe in the good in Pink Diamond/Rose Quartz, as well as Steven being Pink/Rose's legacy!!
Same here. I think to her, she was doing the best she could to help everyone. Sure, bad things happened because of her decisions, but they're not her intentions, she never saw them coming. Take corruption for example, she didn't know that was going to happen. The situation she was in was a complicated one, she couldn't make one choice that would fix everything. She could just make the choices that had the highest probability of succeeding in helping as many people as possible
Me too. I think her character is too complex to just write her off has "a bad person". I know Rebecca Sugar said so but I don't think it was really fair of her to say that :/
I'm getting real tired of these hiatuses. It's hard to get excited anymore because I know we're going to get 2 episodes that end on a huge cliff hanger and drop stuff that deserves was way more screen time then the 5 seconds it gets, and then we need to wait another 3+ months. They keep leaving things half, or even completely unresolved. The pace is at the same time painfully slow, and breakneck fast. How many episodes did it take for ruby and sapphire to get back together, compared to how quickly and suddenly yellow & blue show up, fight, the Steven=pink diamond reveal, centipedle, leg ship, and white diamond reveal in what, like ten minutes?
I don't think the Crewniverse has the best influence on whether the show goes on hiatus or not. They've been developing these episodes for a long time; most have been ready for months. Cartoon Network, however, has been slowly strangling Steven Universe's run time more and more as time has progressed, which sucks.
Honestly, I always had the theory that reason she had Steven was so that she could die without having to be shattered. Think about it. No matter how much she loved Greg, it wouldn't change the facts: she was a Diamond and he was a human. When she died, it would be long after she was the last one who remembered him. She didn't want that. She loved her Crystal Gems, but Greg made her feel complete, like her entire life had led up to this point, and she didn't want to live without him. So she found a way to leave that would allow her loved ones to heal and stay together, and would leave the foundations for a new legacy. But your theory works as well.
So to summarize, and excuse me if I got something wrong- Pink knew that her arrogance and ignorance towards the gem kind and the humans alike are stopping her from solving the problems she had created, so she wanted Steven to be her successor to solve them, because he could grow in the perfect environment to have enough sympathy and selflessness to see what she couldn't see and find how to solve it. Did I get this right?
I think it is a well thought out theory, my only counter argument would be Rose Quartz (PD) mentioned to greg on the beach how gems "come flying out of the ground with purpose, and that's it". She showed a sort of disdain for how a life of a gem is predetermined and yet humans are so free. I would argue she wouldn't want to plan out steven's life like a gem.
This is why Pink is my favorite character. Her character had good intentions at times, but was also selfish, which isn’t inherently a bad thing. She made a plan, and it didn’t go perfectly, which doesn’t happen often.
You know, I just realized something. Rose made two tapes when she was pregnant. One for a boy (Steven), one for a girl (Nora), implying that she and Greg were going down the "we want to be surprised!" route in terms of their baby's sex. But she ceased to exist the moment Steven was born. Who put the Steven tape inside Lion's mane? Was there ever a throwaway line that explained that?
Please look at the All seeing eye spell and try to decode the other languages. In the magic book of spells. I did the low mewmain but can't figure out the other one.
Pink came off more as an extremist who fought for gem rights for freedom, but she herself didn't know how to handle or what to do with that freedom. She was in love with the concept of life and sought the opportunity to create one of her own, leading to her mindlessly discarding any other responsibilities she had, in favor experiencing what human life is like. So it's possible creating a human life gave her the purpose she was looking for.
Omg it looks cool how the design of pink diamond in the title card looks almost exactly like the design of the pink heart gem for the Steven universe movie!!
4:24 - 4:28 *Steven:* "Lion isn't trained very well, but *I'm not very well trained either."* *Lion:* [Widens eyes] OOOOOOOOOHHHHH!!! I NEVER noticed that before. You got a very good eye/ear @The Roundtable.
Honestly, I don't she would have wanted him to deal with Homeworld. It would make sense she'd leave breadcrumbs for him to find out who she used to be. But I doubt she would want him to deal with Homeworld.
Turns out Pink Diamond had a human fetish and becoming a human was just the ultimate endgame to that fetish. Even in her video to Steven she talke about loving being him.
To go into a plan that detailed, with what we've seen of Pink's personality, had to have been mostly based on hopes. You have to admit that Pink doesn't seem very analytical, and is most likely linked moreover to her emotions than planning and executing plots. Being entirely honest, she is a perfect example of the right brain of a human body! She's more impulsive, more emotionally deterred by things. She's the complete opposite of the left brain, which can be represented by *cough* White Diamond *cough* well enough on it's own. So bottom line: I don't think that Pink is the calculating type, rather she had high hopes for Steven instead. Hope is stronger than fear, after all! Great video!
I honestly feel that if Roes/ Pink Diamond was this smart/ foreseeing of this magnitude the war would have turned more in her favor and she wouldn't have needed Bismuth/ Blue Diamond to come up with the shattering idea. I believe she only wanted Steven for half of this, the more in favor of gems/ people on Earth. Possibly lion was trained to make sure Steven had the materials that Rose had at her disposal in case Homeworld came back and seeing the weapons would inspire hope itself that would be needed. Also does anyone wish that Homeworld was called something else, I mean it makes it weird when another character from another world in a show says Homeworld, it makes us think of Steven Universe
I don't think there was some "grand master plan" behind Steven's birth. But if there WAS, I imagine that it would be to prove that Humans/Organics and Gemkind COULD co-exist together peacefully and create beautiful things
@@sharonspears-mandeville2369 When you really think about it, it actually makes sense. I mean; for thousands of years, Gem people have simple thought that organics were simply "expendable." Never caring about the repercussions behind their colonization of other planets and star systems. But after Pink/Rose came to Earth, saw all the humans, saw their families, met Greg and saw him care for a little one (namely Baby Sour Cream;) she saw more to them. So one could assume that, after she learned about human reproduction, Rose/Pink would want a child of her own. A perfect blend of her kind and human kind
Do you believe Pink had a master plan?

Some deep stuff
Is it weird that I want to see the exact scene where Steven's born/Rose(Pink) gives up her form? Like does she shapeshift? Fade away? Actually give birth and then fade away? I've always wondered.
LysMitch51
Yeah good point the can just show it from a point where no coochie is there
@@Wynkopop I would imagine they wouldn't show that if they did decide to show that scene.
Ithink she gose into a bubble and Steven pops out
I imagine it's like Connor's birth in Angel. Momma poofs herself and there's the baby
This is a kids show on Cartoon Network. They wouldn't show someone actually giving birth, so we could assume that it'd be something dumb like Rose making a bubble around herself, blocking herself from sight, and coming out as baby Steven. And that's if they'd even show it.
"Lion smelled pink diamond’s gem"
Lion: I smell the pink rocc, mmm yish, this is the destiny child
AHAHAHAHAJEJJSKSKSKXKWMDKD
What I wonder in Steven Universe is how the government isn’t involved with all the crazy gem stuff
No world building
The people of this world seem more naturally inclined to believe in magic than to fear it.
After all, humans fought alongside Gems in the war for Earth. Surely that war is in the history textbooks somewhere.
And alien technology could have been seen as magic 5,000 years ago, let alone the real magic the Gems possess.
Not to mention the fact that there are corrupted Gems wandering the Earth in places Steven has yet to visit. Surely people have seen those throughout the course of time.
Well Steven told the Government for the gem race
@@megashadowmew I'm pretty sure it was established early on that humans in the SU world are naturally inclined to *avoid* Gem-related magical events. For example when they went to retrieve the Shooting Star in season 1, there was a *human skeleton* in the caves. Which implied that most humans that got too close died (aka "curiosity killed the cat"), leading to a natural selection of humans that avoided magical things. People like Connie and Ronaldo are an exception to this.
Bad writing. End Of Story.
All she would have to do is shapeshift the right parts (this is often brought up in discussions over Mystery Girl, that Rose might have miscellaneous descendants scattered through history.)
But children conceived in such a way are 100% non magical humans who grow old and die.
Wow just wow
In that episode, Garnet can't ask because then she'll see different futures and she would have seen Smoky Quartz
@@LordofFullmetal Well, technically the full quote is "No more questions. Don't ever question this," so I guess it could go either way, but I can see where I went wrong.
uh WUH??
All of cotton candy garnet's lines in the movie were questions
Here is a good question: WHY was Steven closer to healing a corrupted gem than Rose?
Maybe his organic-ness amplifies the abilities in some way
All going according to plan
WHAT PLAN?!??!
Everything she’s been plotting for thousands of years
@@rainbowquartz9513 I wonder what her plan is?
So, hear me out. What if Steven is teach everyone how to "Love like you" meaning how humans love. Because while she is trapped right now, Pink diamond will still live forever, where as Steven is organic. His body will eventually decay and out will come Pink diamond. But she will have a while new perspective on love and so may the other gems.
I think you mean keikaku
Did anyone else notice that when Steven is singing to his dad and pearl he is pink Greg yellow and pearl is blue?
My theory is:
WD is going to remove Steven’s gem and he is going to die. PD returns!
She is going to revive Steven and we will have Pink Steven
JURI 100 GAMING you got that from hoshico didn’t you
Pizza Guy nope created my self for real
Or............if you've ever seen twilight were Bella has Renesmeee Bella dies and then later comes back. And then Steven will get to keep his powers and have a normal belly button. Rose dies and then later comes back.
Nah, that would completely and fundamentally change the show and would generally be a bad direction to take the show in, especially with only 1 season after this left.
Big Doodle Makes sense, but are you sure there is only one season? It isn’t confirmed season six is the very last season. We might have a season seven, especially since there’s tons of plot lines to follow.
Finally a "Pink Diamond had a plan" theory that didn't make it sound like she was an evil master manipulator
But that would be a huge turn of events.
;~; dude
Wait, if Steven didn't have his gem/gem abilities then I feel like he wouldn't be able to fuse anymore..? I mean, I thought the only reason he could fuse with Connie is because he's half human and half gem. That's why Greg and Rose couldn't fuse, because one was completely human and the other was completely jem. It was only the mix of those two properties that made it possible for Steven to fuse with humans and gems. If he got the jem part of him removed then I don't think he'd be able to fuse anymore, sadly.
Joseph Smith huh?

“Yes we know that you not her but you were her, you know what it meant to love her, and you remind us so much of her...” or the song come live with us in the palace
This video was released before the movie, and also it's called let us adore you..
Biscuits and that’s after Steven told them what happend
Looking back, I used to think that the ending song "Love Like You" was sung by pearl to maybe pink diamond because it made sense. But now I think its Pink singing to Steven and honestly if thats the case thats so heartwarming
I’ve always thought it was all 3 of them, because Steven always looked up to them but the gems thought he was important.
I've heard people say it's pink diamond to Steven, and that's my headcannon as well
I've always seen it as Rose singing to Greg, as he was showing her how to love in a human way, and how his love for her was so special, going deeper than the surface of "I love you" only because you are family, or "I love you" because you are my diamond.
I am not still quite sure what to believe (I suppose only time will tell… eventually), there might be something to the idea that ™Rose/Pink had a plan for Steven.’
My take on it is that, yes, Rose/Pink did leave Lion and her other things for Steven, and yes, she may have very well foreseen* the possibility of him being able to help the Crystal Gems, I still think she wanted it to be up to Steven to decide.
She may simply have had a feeling that Steven could help fix her mistakes, as opposed to having a complex motive involving several moving parts.
there is a reason for Steven's existence, it is not a theory, they say it several times in the series....

I am hoping for more of an in between factor, a bit of conflict but peace at the end, but not as sappy as twilight. More of a grudging respect peace. Sort of like squeaky cheese kind of take on this.
Not so runny or warm, but not as sharp.
So here a question for you guys. What will happen to the rest of the gems once Steven eventually dies?
they keep on living of course they are immortal
there fucking cartoons
jk
Geoffery Phone Myint Kaung Khant Kyaw i think once steven’s human form dies, he’ll either go back go rose or be a full fledged gem.
Switch Productions
As shown in the previous episodes. Steven ages from how he feels.

I'm so glad
And also, one thing that I think can be added to this theory: this is completely explains why pearl did not know about lion! If she had, well you know, he was the only one who knew the secret plan so...
3:31 “han” 😂 instead of “hone his abilities”
😭too precious.
this is so beautifully done I love the entire like thought process behind this theory it's so heartwarming and it shows like a different side of pink that nobody really gets to see.

I did to like they never really given her a chance to explain why
Lol at the people who keep saying “first”

@@cutiecutie6494 yup. At least we kind of know the time zone the movie is due.....
Was Pink really a liar
Everybody is liar. Perspective.
Lies and truths are subjective. It's all about perspective.

Yes.
@Michael Hewitt-Clarke I dont think palpatine ever lied only implied
Dang it I love it when you make a theory that will make the fandom suffer but make us happy at the same time
"The more I make these gems suffer, the more I lone to see you again pink😪"
Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl *AND PINK DIAMOND*
You’re giving Pink a lot more credit than she probably deserves.
Almost shed a tear at "they both have something to mourn and both have someone to love" 👊 right in the feelings lol
I'm a little curious to this day.. *how did pink diamond give birth to Steven?*
Shapeshifting
remember when you didnt think pink diamond was rose quartz that same year 2018
Honestly, I always had the theory that reason she had Steven was so that she could die without having to be shattered.

“You’re going to be something amazing, you’re going to be a *human being* “
I think it is a well thought out theory, my only counter argument would be Rose Quartz (PD) mentioned to greg on the beach how gems "come flying out of the ground with purpose, and that's it". She showed a sort of disdain for how a life of a gem is predetermined and yet humans are so free. I would argue she wouldn't want to plan out steven's life like a gem.
know steven has two crazy aunts and an over loving grandma
The Roundtable: This video is, Okaay.
Me: *MIND EXPLOSION*
This is why Pink is my favorite character. Her character had good intentions at times, but was also selfish, which isn’t inherently a bad thing. She made a plan, and it didn’t go perfectly, which doesn’t happen often.
I’m still in luv with ur “new” avatar!! It just fits you!!❤️❤️❤️
I can't wait for the movie
You know, I just realized something. Rose made two tapes when she was pregnant. One for a boy (Steven), one for a girl (Nora), implying that she and Greg were going down the "we want to be surprised!" route in terms of their baby's sex. But she ceased to exist the moment Steven was born. Who put the Steven tape inside Lion's mane? Was there ever a throwaway line that explained that?
Great theory, in retrospect, was pretty spot on.
“The cats out of the bag”
No, thats wrong!
The *LIONS* out of the bag!
Notification Squad where u at.
Ha no one replied. I'm dying laughing. Dont worry you will get ur notification squad.......maybe.
You could say Pink's masterplan caused steven to have trauma at the end
I almost forgot this series existed, too much hiatus😂
Its weird watching the beginning of the show again because it seems like they didn't think of garnets future vision yet it's kinda funny
Please look at the All seeing eye spell and try to decode the other languages. In the magic book of spells. I did the low mewmain but can't figure out the other one.
I always love your theories and totally agree with them! Also I really like your new animation.
That heartwarming cheesy take actually makes so much sense
This made me so emotional. You have no idea how many times I’ve cried over this show lmao
Wait so your telling me that Greg got "used" wow.
By following this theory the chance of Pink Diamond returning greatly increases.
The Roundtable Yes and I think there’ll be a way to get her back to life with Steven being alive as well
Pink came off more as an extremist who fought for gem rights for freedom, but she herself didn't know how to handle or what to do with that freedom. She was in love with the concept of life and sought the opportunity to create one of her own, leading to her mindlessly discarding any other responsibilities she had, in favor experiencing what human life is like.
So it's possible creating a human life gave her the purpose she was looking for.
Yeo it’s 6:00am rn and I’m high as shit. However, I’m flabbergasted by this
Omg it looks cool how the design of pink diamond in the title card looks almost exactly like the design of the pink heart gem for the Steven universe movie!!
I’ve been exposed.
Roundtalble I'm not going to lie but ur videos are the best you really have a good character I wish I was like you
"Going all conspiracy theory"... BRING OUT THE SNEOPLE!! Oh, and Ronaldo, maybe
Pink diamond master plant was to protect everybody and sacrifice himself no matter what even if it meant corruption or death.
By far, the best theory!

After watching the movie I can tell you that is weird to hear Steven with this voice ._.

TH-cam: hold my beer
Great video!
greg smashed a diamond🤣........get it?
Oh why....
Am I the only one who notice that in the thumbnail pink diamond has her gem in the wrong place?
She was very immature back then. Seeing the consequences of her actions probably forced her to mature greatly.
Pink Diamond: “All according to keikaku.”
(Translator’s note: Keikaku means plan.)
WHY ISN'T SEASON 5 ON MY HULU?
I NEEEEEEEEEEED IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!!!!!!!!
Greg’s expectations don’t have to align with Rose’s expectations
I don't think there was some "grand master plan" behind Steven's birth. But if there WAS, I imagine that it would be to prove that Humans/Organics and Gemkind COULD co-exist together peacefully and create beautiful things
sadlobster1 actually,that seems pretty much the thought/idea I would have, yes.. I agree..eh..?!?!
Honestly, your theory is the only one I agree with on these topics and I love your videos
