In this project video, I was inspired by a classic design of the folding camp stool, but I wanted to make something more lasting, so I used steel and leather for this build. For this Leather Folding Stool project, I first made the leg design in Adobe Illustrator and exported a cut path to my Lincoln Electric Torch-mate metal cutting CNC, and then I welded the parts together. For the seat of this stool project, I used 8-9 Oz. cow hide from Weaver leather Supply and fasten with copper post rivets. I hope that you enjoy this workshop project!

Those are top choice. When I was a child, we had seats in this style made of wood and canvas. We called them our camping stools, because we used them when we were camping. 👍🏼
This feels like a "DiResta version" of Taylor's furnitures. Clean thin lines with leather, but with the added forged texture and rivets. Dope!

Perfect example of excellent DIRESTA video. I don’t have a plasma machine nor am I thinking of making these. But I always learn something. When the of the seat wouldn’t come together, I would have never thought of putting a piece of plywood underneath to raise it up. Just that little thing made it worth it for me. Also I can see me using the rivets. Thanks Jimmy!

I have this cool folding single post stool made in the 1930's, it's made from lacquered bamboo and balsa wood and has an ad for a piston rings brand on it. You balance on the single post much easier than you would think, and it easily holds my 1/8th of a ton ass. Anyway, It would be supercool to see a steel version and it could still be made fairly lightweight.

That's a good look, black steel and dark red leather. You had me scratching my head on how you welded the hinge pin before it struck me that you welded it to the outer leg pair and welded the inside spacer washers. Such a simple and elegant solution. That is why I love your videos

Cant remember if it was answered on your podcast, but campaign furniture was the stuff british officers had to buy for themselves when they went out on campaign to foreign countries. It was all meant to be super strong, portable and easy to fit into shipping crates. Thats why most of it had metal reinforced corner brackets and handles that were all recessed to sit flush with the surface. These stools are pretty cool btw
