Running a Honda 2022 CRF450RL, stock tires, stock exhaust. Much appreciate your videos! After watching your comparison video posted two weeks ago, I ordered the GET ECU for my bike. Today was my first ride since putting it in and I can attest that the bike is much easier to ride now, having excellent low end tractability down to idle that just creeps up those sandy, slippery hills in the AZ desert. I'm using the Enduro mode and LOVE it. I rode the bike with confidence up and down hills that used to be difficult if not impossible with the stock ECU due to stalling or spinning extremes. I noticed also that the bike is very predictable now when sliding the back wheel out when I used to have to put a foot down or drop it. Thanks again! Happy with my RL now, Greg
@@dirtslinger1500 TacoMoto does ask which pipe you have. If stock, like me, then they configure the ECU for that. It works perfectly with the stock exhaust system.
so I took your advice and got a TacoMoto Athena GET ECU!!! holy crap bro! you weren't lying.. this thing is nuts. so much fun. thx for the awesome vids and content. I also have a " sea biscuit" 2019 CRF 450L 👊
Great video and thanks for all you do. Going to make this more of BDR bike so I want this ecu. I got a T7 and just kinda big sometimes and can't do too much singletrack. Great job as usual....
Tremendous and strong channel with solid content. You add value. With the recent hard work you've done on ECU's, would you recommend that a Rekluse would be complimentary for the type of riding that you do in Vegas? How about other environments? Thanks
Thanks for the kind words I think a Rekluse is good Some say its cheating, but if I can ride an extra hour from not having clutch fatigue I'm all for it
I watched your videos from your day one ownership of the RL and thoroughly enjoyed them. I just gave up on getting a new RL, and cancelled my RL order after waiting more than 5 months and having Honda bump it out each month. Tired of being played. Picking up a brand new 690 Enduro R this weekend instead. Going to be selling a boatload of Brand New RL upgrade parts that I purchased while waiting for my RL...all NIB. I have a GET ATHENA ECU with Wifi and Switch; FMF Q4 and Megabomb header, Seat Concepts standard seat, x2 Twin Air Backfire-proof filters with aluminum filter cage, PC Racing Air filter gasket, x2 Honda exhaust manifold gaskets, Honda Service Manual, G2 Throttle tamer, Left and right control levers, 12 Oclock labs tail tidy, AXP Radiator guards, 450RX frame guards, and MVi adapter to mount an FMF Q4 on the stock header. It sucks that I won't be able to use all these on an RL, but I am tired of waiting and the Europeans have somehow been able to deliver. The Japanese took over the market from Europe in the 60s...now the Europeans are able to supply bikes and the Far East cannot. Go figure. Heck, even Triumph is releasing MX bikes in a year or two. In five years we will all be riding Euro bikes because the Japanese manufacturers literally gave up all their market share during covid and the years after. Mark my words, gents! Hahahaha, just kidding.......but think about it.....I'll still keep watching your vids; looking forward to your SM vids as well.
I had a 450 RX a few years back and sold it because of the same issues, jerky throttle and flame outs. Now there is an L for sale and you videos are really tempting me to go and get it 😁
Do you think the Athena GET ECU will have any impact on the longevity of the engine? Would it last longer in stock form (leaner afr, corked up) or modified (richer afr, more power)? Just wondering if these mods are just for more power or if it also makes the engine happier and last longer before needing to rebuild it. Awesome channel with informative content - thanks!
Well anytime you make a mod it can hinder reliability but in this case I would say no because these dual sports are so restricted the ECU just makes the bike run like it should. It is probably worse to run it in stock form According to Taco Moto Co they havent had any long term reliability issues with any of the ECUs
Just purchased the GET for my 2019 CRF450L having researched for a while (including the use of this fine channel ....) WOW!! It works well! You are absolutely right. One question though: Does you fuel usage and average fuel ranges still function on your dash/speedo?
Fuel tank measurements are usually done mechanically, and always done with a chip that is able to sense the amount of fluid in the tank. What you're referring to is tank capacity being done by a mathematical formula, based off of average consumption. I don't think any motorcycle or vehicle measures fuel capacity this way.
Thanks CI but it turns out that the second generation GET ECU for this model actually does show the fuel usage etc on the standard dash. However my ECU is the first Gen that does not accommodate this function. The ECU still works amazingly but I now have to reset the trip meter(s) and use them to guage fuel range as a consequence. I have, though, just seen that Athena have released a new SX1 ECU as their latest offering that accommodates fuel usage as well as a whole bunch of real time diagnostics. I won't be upgrading but if I were still running the stock ECU I'd be grabbing one straight away 👍👍
Hey Doug. Really appreciate your great reviews. I'm currently riding stock. I'm a recreational rider. Mostly just slow riding on fire roads. Give it the beans once in a while. I've been extending oil changes to 1000-1200 miles. Can I still stick to these extended intervals with an ECU upgrade?
This was a great video full of info, obviously you love the Honda but what’s your thoughts on the wr450 for a super Moto? I’m also in Vegas and I believe it’s street legal here.
Have you Concord the tiger killer with any of the ecms that you have showcased? Climbing big Hills it's definitely my achilles tendon on my 2022 also but I did receive my get from Taco moto today!!
I am a big fan. I have enjoyed your videos and advice and have modified my 2022 CRF450RL with many of your modification . I installed the GET ecu and Yoshi exhaust and have a lot of deceleration popping (back fire). Mike at Tocomoto gave some mapping advice, but still the same. I am running 91octange, recalibrated the throttle, and adjusted the FI, up and down. Any suggestions?
Does the wifi app have all those monitor details as shown? Mine just has throttle position. I know Taco Moto said that there might be an update at some stage but I'm curious!
Hello!! I bought the yoshimura exhaust and it does backfire A LOT! Does this ECU kill the backfire? I all really ordered this ECU. Thanks. EXCELLENT VIDEO !
No I did not have any backfire with the Yosh with stock ECU but the GET ECU does have Dcel pop Its harmless just annoying If you remove the emissions and add the Graves block plate it will clear up the pop
Do you consider your bike fully tuned with the Hulk/Get tuner a better bike than the Husky 500 exe-f? I'm getting ready to buy, and I'm just torn between the two. I just sold my 2005 CRF450X and I loved that bike, but I want to ride on the street also now.
Its not as fast as a Husky or as light but the Honda is way better on the highway I dont think there is a less buzzy premium 4 stroke than the Honda if you replace its stupid seat
Another question, my yoshimura pipe glows in the dark, from the cilinder for next 10 centimeters. But the bike runs great. My mapping is 1% rich. Im not leaning the mixture. What do you think?
@@SuperiorTim989 no question it is the GET for the Honda but the whole kit you will not be sorry plus if you want to swap it out for the AiM Taco moto can probably do that
Awesome, Im gonna switch the Get ecu over to the 450. We should get together, I should let you ride this 350 before I pull the Get. Add me on Instagram and we can chat.
