    *Lyrics*
    Long distance run around
    Long time
    Waiting to feel the sound
    I still remember
    The dream there
    I still remember
    The time you said goodbye
    Did we really tell lies?
    Letting in the sunshine
Did we really count to one hundred?
    Cold summer listening
    Hot color
    Melting the anger to stone
    I still remember
    The dream there
    I still remember
    The time you said goodbye
    Did we really tell lies?
    Letting in the sunshine
Did we really count to one hundred?
    Long distance run around
    Long time
    Waiting to feel the sound
    I still remember
    The dream there
    I still remember
    The time you said goodbye
    Cold summer listening
    Hot color
    Melting the anger to stone
    I still remember
    The dream there
    I still remember
    The time you said goodbye
    Did we really tell lies?
    Letting in the sunshine
Did we really count to one hundred?
    Looking for the sunshine...
    Sunshine
    Sunshine
    Sunshine
    Sunshine

This is really the definitive Yes performance. Outside of having Bruford on drums I don't know what would have made it better. And having said that Alan feels really orchestral and perfectly matched in this recording. Bravo Alan!

Jon Anderson wrote the lyrics to this song while allegedly remembering his personal encounters with what he believed to be religious hypocrisy and competition that he experienced while attending church regularly as a youth in northern England. *Long time / waiting to feel the sound* was a sentiment he supposedly felt toward wanting to see a real, compassionate, non threatening example of godliness. An interesting fact, I think. I believe that many lyricists will reflect on their personal lives @ times (Rick Wakeman as an example) Jon does it beautifully, and with respect to others. I respect that about him!
This entire playlist is a really great share, Dan! :) I know you'll be happy when you can get to creating that new vid! lol ... ;)

I can relate to his feelings of religious hypocrisy in church. People will sadly be, people. The things that drive mankind come from the heart, and corruption inevitably surfaces in almost every endeavor. The best of people tend to get lumped in with the worst, who tend to make the most noise! Power and position, along with a sense of "I'm better than those people" tend to drive people in every arena, and the churches are no exception. Jon tried to transcend all of the noise and get to what's really important...love, respect, compassion, empathy, etc. I'm glad you're enjoying the concert, babe. And yes, I will be glad when I finally can get to creating a new vid! LOL!!!

So true, Dan. I will always believe that people show who they are by what they do in this world. Many are much more transparent than they might realize, including what is regarded as the church. And then, there are those who just don't give a dam how they appear, no matter who it's in front of. Jon (appears) in his heart, to be a wonderful human being. I posted on another of your shares that he strikes me as a *Namaste* kind of man, always endeavoring to be respectful in his form of greeting to others be it in his personal life, or around the world as an onstage performer. Performance, being a great platform for him to speak his heart very openly. So many YES lyrics written by him contain both personal and spiritual messages, obviously. I would venture to guess that when he practiced his religion as a youth, little did he know then, what he would eventually come to learn about the ways in which people should regard one another from that very experience. To that end, I'm thinking that 2 Corinthians 11:14 might apply (as in my own personally held faith) ... Sharing with others: 2 Corinthians 11:14 (KJV) (14) And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. I absolutely love Jon's ability to reach across so many boundaries with his lyrics and his person. The YES band, with their cumulative talents, have inevitably had a powerful impact on millions of fans over the years. Again, a wonderful playlist share, Dan. For those who have not yet heard it, I would urge them to hear :)

I don't like the way Alan White plays this song. And I tried many versions.
