    This particular song never gets old for those of us who grew up with it. It is simply uplifting and I just seem to be transported to a better place when I hear it. I am 66 years old and Yes still can make me feel like a teenager all over again and optimistic about the world we live in.

      I like to think I did. February 18, 1980. I grew up listening to everything my dad loved, 60s and 70s, then grew up hearing the 80s, I still love a lot of the 80s, but then I got the 90s as a teen. I love the 60s-80s, but man were the 90s wild. Probably comparable to kids born in 60 reaching the late 60s. But all I can say is todays music sucks

      LOTS OF ROCK AND ESPECIALLY NEW WAVE MUSIC IS FILLED WITH SUBLIMINAL MESSAGES AND PROPHECY FROM GOD/CHRIST AIMED AT THE DEVIL AND THE FALLEN ANGELS AND ALL WHO FOLLOW THEM. BLACK SABBATH'S "WAR PIGS" IS A GREAT EXAMPLE OF GOD/CHRIST'S WORK. THIS SONG AND THE MANNER OF WHICH IT IS WRITTEN IN, SCREAMS THE ALMIGHTY GOD WHO IS CHRIST.
      Acts 2:17-21 New King James Version (NKJV)
      17 ‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God,
      That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh;
      Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
      Your young men shall see visions,
      Your old men shall dream dreams.
      18 And on My menservants and on My maidservants
      I will pour out My Spirit in those days;
      And they shall prophesy.
      19 I will show wonders in heaven above
      And signs in the earth beneath:
      Blood and fire and vapor of smoke.
      20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,
      And the moon into blood,
      Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord.
      21 And it shall come to pass
      That whoever calls on the name of the Lord
      Shall be saved.’

    Beautiful, it has been a long time since I have heard YES. They are timeless. I was a teen when I first heard YES. It was as if they were talking to me about how I felt at the time. It feels that they are still talking to me after 44 years. Time may be moving, but this music takes me back . . . back home to a time when I was free, free of burdens, free to express myself without having to justify my actions. In their minds, I believe they wanted to be that perfect transition between Classical Music and modern Day Rock! In my mind they succeeded beyond any other current day band. Jethro Tull used classical movements in his songs , but fits more into folk rock than classical rock. Yes is unparalleled as a Classical Rock group!

      17 ‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God,
      That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh;
      Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
      Your young men shall see visions,
      Your old men shall dream dreams.
      18 And on My menservants and on My maidservants
      I will pour out My Spirit in those days;

      @TheMNB 10 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      Yes he is. He's one of my all time favorite guitarists (I'm a guitarist myself, but nowhere near that level). I prefer Steve over Santana, Van Halen, Malmsteen and many others just because he's so incredibly damn versatile. Rock, classical, country, bluegrass, just about anything he can play as if it were the only style he knows.
      I saw them on tour around the time this was recorded, in San Jose's Center for the Performing Arts. It's not a typical venue for rock bands, but the sound and show were incredible. The guys were showing their age then and that was more than a dozen years ago. Steve would try a few jumping kicks like he did in the old day and we thought he was going to fall and break a hip.
      I counted 24 different stringed instruments that Steve Howe played during the concert. Up to 3 on a song. He started with one clamped on a stand, switched to one he had strapped on and then a crew member tossed him another. And he played them all with the wonderful style and precision for which he's famous.

    Imagine my surprise when a Polish barmaid at my local pub mentioned one day that she used to be in a symphony orchestra and toured with Yes. I couldn't believe it! She said she loved the experience and everyone was so nice - especially Chris Squire. Every time I watch this and other videos of the concert I'm always looking for her and I do spot her there. It's quite surreal.

      @E Pluribus Unum I don't see her regularly anymore, only on the odd occasion if I happen to see her in town. I would imagine the songs were rehearsed to perfection otherwise it wouldn't work. It may look like Yes are improvising, which they may do sometimes, but on the whole, I reckon everyone knew exactly where they were.

    Sony Walkman, walking in the heavy fog from my tiny apartment to my classes at Humboldt State University. Passing misty homes, a dog in the doorway looks at me with indifference. Squire's bass sets my pace. I get to class wet, young, impressionable. YES impressed me (so did my college classes).
    Music shapes our lives...

    Of all the firsts for our generation, we're the first to be able to go back and listen to the very music that made us feel so alive when we were teenagers. And it's every bit as good now as it was then. And that feeling comes right back. Even though we can't stay here, it's sure nice to come back and visit. And remember a better time. The children born in the fifties have truly enjoyed the best of everything. We are blessed. These guys were so far ahead of their time. Amazing music 4/26/20

    When I first heard Yes' "and You and I," I was 16 and in love with the poetry of Percy Bysshe Shelley (1793-1822), and both works of art inspired me further in the crafting of my own works. I would play this song over and over whilst reciting aloud Shelley's choice poetic works.

      @@Anglagard1 I am now a professional literary agent and my poetry is private. However, thank you for your interest, and should I ever decide to publish my poetic works, I would be happy to text you, accordingly. Peace.

    Never heard of Yes until I went to a concert in 77, the Tormato tour in the round Chicago amphitheatre. Became an instant fan. They are by far the most talented rock band ever!

      Ha, ha. I was just shy of 16. They were practically unknown. Opened for Black Sabbath in Detroit! (March 22, 1972) Needless to say. "Lucy in the sky with diamonds" was there.
      Yes, totally blew us away. Ozzie, finished us off!

    A dear high school buddy of mine turned me on to Yes - this being the first song I heard of them. Years later my buddy's wife one evening had called out "Tim - supper is ready several times but got no reply. Angry - she stomped out to Tim's hangout - the garage - found him dead on the floor. No explanation ever was given on why. Every time I hear this song I think of him - a superbly decent fellow with a big heart......was in his 30's
