The box end of craftsman 13mm combination wrench worked for me no problem for top and bottom bolts. Thanks for the video as you did answer a couple other questions for us
Great videos man keep it up I have an 84 944 na , same color and same wheels . Your videos really help me out and as long as your posting I will be watching thanks
spencerdog24 Thanks for the video. Did you have any trouble bleeding the system? That is my biggest concern about taking this on, as I’ve heard it can be very difficult to get all the air out.
The brake bleeding with super easy just got to make sure that the line going into your bleeder bottle is submerged in the oil and press down on the pedal very slowly.
When you skip the step of bleeding the clutch, what does that mean exactly. Does bleeding the clutch mean emptying out the systems fluid or does that mean getting the air out of the system while keeping the fluid in? This is my first time bleeding a clutch so I’m a little confused on what that means. By the way your videos are super detailed and helpful! Thanks
What I used was Permatex "White lithium grease". There is not any master cylinder paste I just called it that because of I forgot the name during shooting the video. Sorry for the confusion and glad the video helped.
I got a question for you Spencer about throw out bearing. My sachs clutch came with new throw out bearing. I do have all the stuffing out of the gearshift area and I test drove to work and I can hear that throwout bearing. It's a sealed bearing isn't it ? I can't remember but I know for a fact I didn't grease it. Maybe it's just because I don't have the noise cancelling of the stuffing in there but I can distinctly hear it.
That is a good question but I am not sure if it would be the throwout bearing. I did find a good forum discussion on the issue you are having and it may help out. www.944online.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1219641646
spencer- great vids. I am frustrated with my 83 944, it wont start. I changed the fuel pump and DME relay. I really thought it was the DME relay due to the symptoms when I drove it. but she wont it start. fuse is good. any thoughts or advice?
I would get a can of starting fluid and spray it in the J Boot and see if it'll start that way. This way you can at least see if you're getting spark, enough air and compression.

Thank you. I really appreciate it
Maybe I missed it, but how did you know it was time to replace the slave cylinder?
My clutch pedal would go straight to the ground and not come back.

Sorry I meant the clutch slave cylinder underneath the car to the left of the starter is what needs to get bled
@@spencerdog944 so basically i have to empty the slave through the bleeder on the slave?
@@WhiteFalcon323 Yes, you can bleed the clutch pedal from the slave cylinder. Should be the last one done
Great video- Questions, what is master cylinder paste? What would i call it at Auto Zone? Thanks!

good videos. I saw your hand touching the itchy fiberglass stuff under there by the slave. Terrible stuff but good video.
Thank you! Yeah, I agree, that fiberglass is no fun.

I would check the AFM and see if that could be the issue
What size ratchet are you using? I'm having problems getting the top bolt off..
I was using a 3/8 with an extension on it
Thanks bro.. ur videos are very helpful!!
Does the nipple on the slave cylinder supposed to be pushed in when you put in the new one?
By nipplie do you mean the bleed valve (with the red cap)? if so you would just screw it back once you have the system bled. I hope that helps
spencerdog24 on the other end.
Can’t get the nut for the line off. It’s kinda rounded and rusted really bad
Have you tried PB blaster and letting it soak in. Also are you using a flare wrench?
spencerdog24 yeah PB blaster didn’t help. I ended up taking the line off and getting a new one made. Worked fine
That is great news. Any leaks?
