    This is awesome.also is there a reason not just to spray it with a dark brown first and just skip the black ?

    • @MediocreHobbies
      @MediocreHobbies  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can skip the black if you like, I just prefer having a black coat just in case I miss any bits with the brown, it’s better to have black show through rather than grey! That’s the only reason!

    After watching your video I gave it a try however I’m a big fan of the grim dark paint style so I tried to replicate that using your method. Instead of the metallic dry brush at the end I used a Vallejo environments effect paint called dark slime and light slime. I basically applied them like a wash and it gave this amazing affect that tied the panels I painted differ colors, rust (which was a combination of stippling and dry brushing), and the base coat an amazing grungy feel

    • @TheRealAlpharious
      @TheRealAlpharious 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I should also not that when I primed the terrain I used chaos black to cover all the terrain. Then hit it from the top with a mechanicum standard grey to highlight it all ( both are available as spray cans and didn’t really take much time to apply the highlights. ~10-15sec per piece) I also watered down the rhynoxhide at a ratio of about 1 brush full paint to 2-3 brush fulls of water ( you can do more or less depending on how much you want the highlight to show through)

    great stuff, dabbing the terrain with some different tones on a bit of sponge also helps convey dirt or peeling rust and is just as quick and easy.
