    You might not use this but I’ve found for a great rusty metal effect use a base coat of leadbelcher, a coat of Balthazar gold on the innermost parts then a really thin coat of troll slayer orange

    Real talk:
    Stumbling upon your channel by pure luck was the best thing that could happen. Your tutorials, short or long, are great, and while I have nothing against other painting channels (I am subscribed to a lot), yours have been the best and most comprehensive ones I've seen. Thank you for always putting quality painting guides out there.

    Nice video. I just got the kit and will start it shortly. I've done lot's of 1/35 armour and the techniques used are pretty much identical. (everyone has their own order of detailing so do what works best for your style). However, I'm curious to know how many of you bother painting the inside? If so do you do full detail like the exterior or just a base speed paint type job or somewhere in between?

    I've always found terrain to be a bit boring, and not a fun process to paint, but the Octarius Ork terrain really is a treat to paint up. Great work man!!

    I've followed this almost to a t with a few differences. But about to branch off a little with some ideas of my own, what do you think? Door fulgarite copper. 4 pillars on front will be iron warriors (dark ledbelcher) wiring will be khorne red, warplanes glow and black) one light bulb aethermatic blue, teeth at top runelord brass) personally, I try not to use a ton of colors like that on a single piece because I've heard if your using more than 5 the piece becomes too busy and a subliminal eyesore) but what do you think.. Will that much color actually work? Lol. If you can visualize it lemme know. I struggle with seeing colors on a piece beforehand. I have to actually paint them and find out. Let me hear your opinion on this before this paint goes down hahaha

    Hey man, your videos have been a life saver. Curious if you could consider doing Charcarodons tribal markings at some point in your how to paint series. There really isn't a video from what I've seen for painting good their tribal power armor, just generic color guides. Anyways, thanks for your videos, they've really improved my painting.

    Having trouble finding, "Brick red" in oil paints.. what is the closest alternative?

    • @ThePaintingCoach
      @ThePaintingCoach  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Anything like a red-brown colour - I don't know where you are in the world but this is it:

      Hi! I love how you painted the Ork terrain!
      I still have a few questions: Is it really the linked color „warm red“? The brand has another one called „dark brick red“ - which one should I buy?
      And I read it is suggested to varnish before putting on the oil wash- but you didn‘t, so I assume it is not necessary, right? Did you wipe the wash away immediatly after you put it on?
      Thanks a lot!

    • @ThePaintingCoach
      @ThePaintingCoach  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The link is good www.scalemodelshop.co.uk/20ml-tube-warm-brick-red-oil-abteilung-502-abt025-p67/ but any reddy brown colour will work
      Varnish is good if you are going to use lots of white spirit and want a cleaner look. There is no need on this - i wipe off after the oil sets up for a few minutes

    Looks great! Would any sort of Citadel shade work as an alternative to the oil wash?

    • @ThePaintingCoach
      @ThePaintingCoach  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks - it would but you'll need to be really accurate with it - you can't just throw it on like you can with the oil - you'll also need to feather it out with a clean damp brush to get some transitions going...agrax earthshade would be the nearest colour
