I loved Star ocean the divine force, can’t wait for the second story remake!! And I loved xenoblade chronicles 3 and arise too. I actually liked arise quite a bit they were all good, great video hellfire! Also there’s gonna be dq monsters. And ONE day, dq12, and if dq12 is going to be even close to as good as dq11 then it’s going to be amazing !
I'll admit, I like the Duma mechanics but part of me kinda wished a legit flight or jetpack mechanic was included, for sake of 360 mobility in air, rather than straight shot. But it grew on me over time. Wonderful game 😎👍
Man, I could not get into that game. The washed out saturation to the visuals, the terrible dialogue and voice acting, the story… I kept wanting to like it, but had to call it after about 15 hours. I’m glad you liked it though, and I respect your opinion. What, beside DUMA, made it good for you?
Awesome list, Its only been a few years and we have had alot of great JRPGs this decade. 1. FF VII Remake 2. Xenoblade 3 3. Cold Steel 4 4. Chained Echoes 5. Tales of Arise Honorable mentions: Triangle Strategy.
I would probably put Trails into Reverie over cold steel 4 even though i thought cold steel 4 was absolutely incredible but man Reverie just hit different
We're absolutely in a JRPG renaissance. Great list! For me, I'm super torn between Cold Steel 4 and Xenoblade Chronicles 3. CS4 is Trails which is my favorite series by a long shot, and I spend well over 200 hours on my first playthrough doing literally everything possible, but Xenoblade 3 was one of the greatest gaming experiences I've ever had.
my take! I actually just did this not too long ago: 10. Eiyuden Chronicle Rising 9. Pokemon Scarlet/Violet 8. Scarlet Nexus 7. Fire Emblem Engage 6. Fire Emblem: Three Hopes 5. Monster Hunter Stories 2 4. Atelier Ryza 2 3. Tales of Arise 2. Triangle Strategy 1. Xenoblade 3 Ys IX came out September 2019 in Japan, otherwise I'd put it at #4. And I did not count Chained Echoes, otherwise it would be #3.
13 Sentinels is more of a visual novel with a strategy mini game rather than a JRPG, its been a few years now but typically JRPGs are more gameplay and combat oriented with leveling and skill trees and attribute increases
I'd have trouble naming 10 because they've all been coming out too quickly while I've been trying to cut back on gaming time a bit. Tales of Arise, Scarlet Nexus, Star Ocean 6 and Elden Ring all came out within a couple of years, and yet I've also tossed in Ys 9 into my backlog pile. Haven't even gotten around to Elden Ring yet. Guess it's a good kind of overwhelming in some ways. XD
Great list!!! I would have Harvestella and probably Fire Emblem Engage on my list! Oooo, even Triangle Strategy! I think #1 for me though? Yakuza: Like a Dragon. One of my favourite games of all time!
Love MH Stories and have done since playing it on the 3ds! Fell in love all over again after 2’s release. Eagerly awaiting any news on a third one. And you mentioned you’re a fan of From Software games. Are you likely to try Armoured Core 6?
@@HellFireRPGs What are your upcoming games lined up? Playing Baldur’s Gate 3 rn with Starfield, pokémon DLC and cyberpunk revamp/DLC upcoming for me in September :)
@@HellFireRPGs I’d recommend a new start in cyberpunk because of the changes and that the DLC is supposed to take place during the story and give a new ending possibility! How are you finding BG3? Can’t wait for Starfield, hoping to play it early with the special edition. Can’t say I’ve heard much about sea of stars though 👀
Will definitely start a new game. It's been a few years so I have forgotten about the finer points. Bg3 is amazing. Had a few big quest bugs though. Hopefully they'll be ironed out soon.
These are good choices, for sure. Monster Hunter Stories 2 is so great and yet hasn't gotten much attention. And Chained Echoes is very cool, and inspiring to aspiring game devs. :) Have you played Brigandine: The Legend of Runersia?
without watching, some of my own list: tales of arise star ocean 6 astral chain ff16 EDIT : Having finished the vid, I havent heard of some of these. Thanks for the recommendations!
Solid list, i just dont agree with Elden Ring, its not a Jrpg If the reason because of developed in japan, then Chained Echoes should not in the list people even debating whether FF XVI is a Jrpg
Just a correction.. chained echoes isn't a jrpg... matthias linda has no japanese lineage.. chained echoes is just inspired by classic jrpg turn base games..
God bless you for getting the term "JRPG" right. Anything other than "RPG made in Japan" is just silly IMO. Although to be fair the term was always kinda silly since Western gaming journalists came up with it. Great list btw although i was expevting Star Ocean 6 to be there as well.
Persona 5 was in my last video, so I didn't want to put royal again. And you're right, I broke my own rules, haha. Chained echoes feels so JRPG so I included it 😀
@@HellFireRPGs It's just that I used to be a huge fan of atlus games, specially mainline Shin Megami Tensei, but their business practices and milking of Persona and their use of Denuvo on Steam/PC has made me stop supporting any of their products, so I get sick of hearing how great P5 is. I really don't care about Atlus stuff anymore.
@@tiagocosmos also the writing in persona 5 is downright horrendous and cringy. sounds like the work of a 13 year old. cant believe people got paid to write a story and dialogue that was that shiity
I wish I could see what you see in Tales of Arise. It used to be my favourite series, but there is zero humour or chemistry in this iteration, it's cringey.

Star Ocean The Divine Force is a fantastic game because you can explore in 3D with your Duma ball.

FF7R has probably become my new fave game of all time, it's something so special, a masterpiece
I also love FF16 it's a top notch jrpg ❤

13 sentinels! Lets go! Criminally underrated
Glad to see monster hunter stories 2 on here it's such a great game! 😊
Yup! More people need to play it!
As a slight correction , the dlc for xenoblade 3 is called "future redeemed"
What did I say? Let me guess, futures?
You said "future conected" which is the expansion for xenoblade 1 😅, but i dont blame you haha
@@rpineda8373 ohhhh! I do that often, haha.

Yeah, Ys IX is another good one that didn't quite make it. I would definitely suggest jumping in the Elden Ring when you get the time.
Chained Echoes is my number 1 since it came out, nothing has passed it yet 🤔
Thanks for giving props to monster hunter stories, its so good

I actually haven't. It's probably the only RPG this decade that I feel I missed out on. Definitely will get around to it.

tales of arise
star ocean 6
astral chain
ff16

Agreed! Such a massive dlc too! It also did a way better job with exploration than the main game.
thanks for the video! i really gotta try MH stories 2. looks good ❤
Like the ER call out. Wouldn't expect in this list, but it definitely deserves it. No YS 9 though?
That was up there. Loads of titles were fighting for 10th spot :)

It was close to making it! That, triangle strategy, scarlet nexus, live a live. All really close to taking that number 10 spot.
JRPG is a style of video games that has zero to do with where they’re made.

Wrong. Xenoblade 3 was irremediable dogshit that retroactively ruined 1 and 2

no, pretty common lukewarm take
It's not common just because you're vocally wanting it to be, lol. The game has clearly a positive reception. Sorry you didn't like it.
10:50 not a jrpg. It's a pamphlet thin action game garbage.
