  • Christians today are being led astray. And it's not from outside influences, but rather it's from inside the church. False teachings are rampant and too many Christians are believing these lies. That's why in today's video, I wanted to give an honest review of Allen Parr's new book, Misled. ‪@thebeatagp‬
In this video, I'll break down what I liked and what I didn't like and whether I would recommend that you read it.

Hi Kris, thank you for this teaching and dedication to building up the body of Christ. I have some questions : 1) do women have to wear veils on their heads as written in the bible? If yes, why so many God fearing women in America don't cover their heads when preaching?
      2) Are women allowed to preach or become pastors? If yes, how do you interpret apostle Paul's writings on this matter in Corinthians? This has confused me for so long and would appreciate getting a genuine response from you.
      3) Excuse me for the words I am using here, but it seems the bible somehow despises women! I read somewhere in the Ecclesiast or the book that succeeds the Proverbs , that only 1 man in a thousand was found to be wise but none in women. Peter also wrote that women have a weak nature. Paul or Peter also write that women are weak and were the first to succumb to the Devil's lies in the Eden garden.

Music is an essential. Music has the power to ruin your life, because it's that strong and a tool the enemy uses against many. Music can enter a person's subconscious without that person's permission. Paul, all things are "lawful" for me to do but not all things are expedient. Meaning, we need to be wise especially with the music we listen to.

    • @juliaeaton
      @juliaeaton ปีที่แล้ว +3

People choose the music they listen to. And the books they read and movies they watch. Those things do not choose them. Music is just a reflection of a person's choices. If you're at a party and someone is playing horrible music it is not going to change anyone who doesn't want to be changed. When we actively continue to chose to follow God we are impermeable to being led astray by something like music or movies or any media.

@juliaeaton The spirit of artists are spread through their music, movies, books, games.... etc.
When questioning material, always examine the producer first.
Jesus said we'll know them by their fruit.

    • @juliaeaton
      @juliaeaton 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

Often though when an artist is expressing negative feelings in a way to expel them and express that these feelings can be felt even by "good people" judging that artist as "demonic" can be harmful. Jesus visited Hell and showed he is more powerful than it. If we try to hide from our darkside and not use God's power the power of the Holy Spirit to face it and conquer it then we are in a much worse place.

@@Kris_Reece, never saw you before, don't know you from Eve, not sure you actually have put any time into studying Bible, or the History of the church despite the drivel put out by someone like Allen. I'm pretty well assured you are of Trinitarian persuasion and don't know or care that it was a Catholic johnny come lately doctrine, that murdered and tortured others ( See Foxes Book of Martyrs and Martyrs Mirror. Sure you don't know of or care about the harlot daughters of hers ( see Rev 17:5) which is Protestantism which also decided to prosecute and murder and tortue folks like Mother did.
Maybe see John Calvin and Guillaume Ferel and Geneva Church burnt at the stake Michael Servetus, thus proving they were not Christians. We can add Luther who when ask what to do with peasants that were revolting "to slay, smite, stab" add Dutch reformers and Church of England and you would see also the same.
Now the Trinity was not the true Orthodoxy of the Church, it was Modalist Monarchians. The 1at century is totally silent on a Trinity by explicit or even implicit ideas taught by Jesus NO!, Apostles NO!
      Jews O.T. NO!
Historical proofs are against the Catholic doctrine. You probably didn't know the 1st Trinitarian at least to coin and speak Trinitas was Tertullian, ca 210a.d., he wasn't really a anybody, was in the minority view and he states so. He said the majority of believers in his day said he preached 2 and 3 gods, while they held the only true God and he called them those who held the Monarchy ( Monarchians). JND Kelly in his Early Christian Doctrines stated that"Zephyrinius and Callistus with thus conservatives holding fast to monarchy and tradition which anti-d the whole movement of thought inaugurated by the apologist(s).
These were Bishops of Rome at the end of the 2nd century and start of the 3rd. Adolph Harnack in History of Dogma counted in succession Eleutherus , Victor, Zephyrinus & Callistus as Monarchians, I would count all of them back to the 1st century, as there is no evidence to the contrary and Clement of Rome has absolutely no Trinitarian language.
Virginia Corwin in her book on St Ignatius of Antioch said if anything be said if him, he must be considered Monarchian.
We know Hippolytus was the anti Pope/Bishop of Rome and the Monarchians held that and one dare not call them heretics, at least not until CATHOLICISM married Mithraism and those temples switched of with a large number to worship what wasn't much different than what that religion taught.
No I think you haven't likely studied anything on that and would say the same about other doctrinal ideas as well. But will leave it at this for you to ponder and search Truth.

Unfortunately there are false teachings being taught in the world today. As for Allen Parr, the host of The BEAT, I like the videos I have seen and there were straight to biblical point. You cannot always believe what you hear or what you see, you have to go with the Bible. There are people who will say anything and is not biblical truth and sound doctrine. As an example, some people have said Jesus Christ is coming back on Sunday, the truth is Jesus said no man knows the day or the hour, no not the angels of heaven but my father only, (Matthew 24:36). So only God knows when he is sending his Son, not man or woman on Earth.

I am always curious about people called heretics. Often they really are. But Jesus was called a heretic so I always want to investigate myself. If we don't question and discuss and challenge our own relationship with God, then we're not following the religion that Jesus was brought up with when Rabbi's discussed and argued and were always challenging their belief about the meaning of the scriptures. Our whole lives are a perpetual learning of who God is and how we can connect with him. Whenever someone tells me "this is the only way and this is how it is" it reminds me of that expression, "The most I ever learned was after I knew everything."

Today I see Christianity as a big cauldron of man's spiritual soup. Each church and belief group has added an ingredient or spice to the mix and when blended together makes a delicious meal that can be ladled out into individual bowls to satisfy the hunger of those that are famished for Gods word.
A soup that is too hot or too cold is not palatable, but if it is just right, then you'll want more, and you can't help but to tell your friends about it so you can all share this delicious meal.

There are so many things Christians believe that are totally wrong. One of those things is the one-man-paid-pastor system. The model of the first-century church was an eldership. Christ is the authority over every believer not the leaders. The leaders lead by example and teaching not intimidation or human commands that God never made. Tithing is not Biblical, as well as many other things. People follow the pastor instead of Christ. They are depending on their one man leader to be their spirituality for them and just believe everything they say from the pulpit.

Daily repentance is a false teaching
One who needs to repent regularly is not saved. Otherwise, they would be changed.
Jesus does not forgive our sins daily. None of our sins are forgiven until we receive salvation. At Salvation we are forgiven for all of our past sins at once. Jesus gives us the Holy Spirit, and we are transformed to righteousness. After that we can stop sinning.
    Scripture says:
    1 John 1:9-10
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."
When Jesus purifies us from ALL unrighteousness it is Not temporary. It is permanent.

Every time I hear someone say the phrase "losing your salvation" I cringe, because literally no one on either side of the isle of that doctrine believes you can "lose" it... and that's a fact. The only time that word is ever used is by those who believe in it to promote or defend their doctrine of OSAS. I'm not joking when I say this... I am not convinced any who believe the OSAS doctrine can defend it without using the word lose. What's the objection?
If you're a straightforward kinda gal, why didn't you name ANY specifics from his books? Every comment you made was generic. Book "reviews" like this should include specifics, such as naming the issue, what PARTS of it you agreed with, what problems you had and why, etc.
You don't agree that a "slave once freed would never want to go back"??! Wow.
The examples you cite of recidivism among prisoners (and by extension, slaves, I suppose) refers to people who are desperate or have debilitating mental issues; The Ancient Israelites didn't really WANT to go back to Egypt; they were desperately panic stricken about STARVING. Where in your worldview do you see slaves wanting to return to bondage? Sheesh.
So, perhaps your next review could include specifics.

@abyabraham9018 - I agree salvation is in Jesus alone, by grace alone, and faith alone. I sometimes get concerned when I hear people say that, that they actually discount that faith in Jesus causes us to live differently in the world. I think "works" or the "law" is a good barometer, if you will, to examine our own hearts to determine that we actually do have genuine faith in Jesus, because if our everyday actions, words, deeds, thoughts aren't that different than the world around us, do we really have genuine saving faith.
It's a dance between faith and works. Jesus did the work necessary for us to be face-to-face with the Father (we are standing on his shoulders, so to speak) but that does not relieve us of actually walking righteousness out in our day to day lives. God desires his people to be righteous, but we cannot allow Jesus' work to cause us to deceive ourselves that we no longer need to be walking toward, striving toward ever increasing amounts of righteousness, and righteousness are actions that are observable, tangible, and works.

I took one of Allen Parr's free bible theme online classes and he offered a "sale" on a bible study computer program. (The program called Logos)and he was asking for a huge amount of money and when i declined...he emailed me why i didnt pay. It was uncomfortable and expensive (around $1000).
( I got upset because I found an older version of Logos program online for free)
To be honest, i dont know what to think of Allen Parr.

Parr is religious and he preaches works-based salvation, so whatever comparatively superficial issues he gets right, he is just another preacher of heresy. Those self-righteous Christians who trust in their own law-keeping, their own works, their own righteousness, are the ones Jesus was speaking of when He said, "Depart from me, for I never knew ye." Those who depend on their own righteousness have no use for the finished work of Jesus Christ!

I also hear “works” often, and don’t know exactly the definition. I doubt Faith has anything to do with it. Is it “the fruits” of the Spirit?

@@christinewhite1733 I think it's doing the right thing in challenging circumstances. It's being obedient to the will of God. In the scriptures about the heroes of faith, Hebrews 11, everyone listed carried out some action, some work because of their belief in God

@@mshopey32 @Christinewhite1733. Works are any of your efforts to earn favor with the Father. Our works are as filthy rags before God. An example of works would be baptism, turning from sin, doing good and kind things for others, living holy, etc. Our works do not save us or keep us saved. We are saved by Grace alone thru faith alone in Christ alone. The gospel of salvation is 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 which says to put your faith in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ and his blood atonement for the remission of sins, according to the scriptures. Many people try to add works to salvation because they can’t wrap their head around the goodness of God. The Bible says all that is required for salvation is our faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross, that we are saved by grace, thru Faith, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone boast. (Eph 2:8-9). Once you are saved, you were made to walk in good works and should live holy and submitted to God, but that is NOT a condition of Salvation. It is Sanctification, a lifetime process. Salvation is instantaneous in which you are sealed by the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption. This seal is God’s mark of ownership on you. You become the property of God. You cannot lose salvation. Sanctification, which is what happens AFTER salvation, is turning from sins, baptism, trying to live a Holy life thru the power of the Holy Spirit. If you live a life submitted to God, crucifying the flesh, thru the power of the Holy Spirit, you are made more holy over time. If you never submit to God and stay in sin, you are still saved (because we are not saved by works - our own efforts), but will suffer loss of Heavenly rewards and may even suffer earthly punishment, like a shorted life.

All I know is that Jesus is coming in late 2025 to rapture the church. As far as false teachers and the like, he will weed them out.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way,the truth, and the life:no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Romans 10:9-10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. If you do this, stop doing the things you used to do, because you are now truly interested in better and different things. Amen. But if you go back to lying, stealing, cussing, killing, drinking,on and on and on you are "backsliding", back to the old things. Jeremiah2:19 Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: of course this is "my" belief.

Alan Parr has a works based doctrine, absolutely wrong and unbiblical.
