I wish there was a wilderness like RuneScape near the middle of the map. And I wish there was more risk involved in PvP like more loss involved so it adds to the hype of it
Yes, minimal risk but there’s some. Maybe this is the first step towards a legitimate PvP “wilderness”. I think it would be such a cool addition to the game!
Happy to see you getting views again Savvvo... it's impressive how you continue to power through AGS's neglect. We'll see what happens with this game. I fear the end game bugs from perks/abilities/desync/wars will still exist especially since the open beta was for only low levels and not max level people to really try and stress test AGS's bug fixing abilities. AGS needs another open beta for a PTR of all max level people to experience OPR/war/etc and test to see if their code is written as intended especially when it comes to the perks and having them work as intended.
Same. tbh whatever has more satisfying combat for me. I already tried tnl over 60hrs and i just couldn't stand the combat. I hope nw is better. It seems simpler but more tactical
I am with you here. I'll have a look at T&L and see how I like it. But this PvP area together with the fact i can equip my char by (nearly) only doing pvp might actually make me return to Aeternum (yeah, I know about artifacts and heartrunes :D). And I wonder how this new pvp shard thing will play out.
Thanks for doing some scouting for us! Didn’t get the chance to check it out for myself, but it looks like a good start to the PvP zone concept. Hopefully they’ll continue to expand and improve on this idea going forward. I wonder if there will be large groups of companies gatekeeping this zone periodically? Sure it’s free for all but that doesn’t really mean much if the factions get coordinated with it.
So I didn’t include this in the video, but the timer for gathering the chest does NOT reset when you move away from it early. So that’s at least a plus.
I quit new world shortly after launch because no one went to open world pvp areas and the few that did, would just run if they saw anyone. Actual pvp fights were almost impossible to get.
@@Ambro_Play_Games This isn't really true and depends on the culture of your game and server. Open world pvp was consistent, if not constant, on the the servers I played on.

I loved how if you were actually GOOD with a musket or bow, you could make it work and do great in PvP. However, it was fully skill based. This system in the beta requires no skill to be very effective imo
my issue with lock on as a double ranged player is it completely ruins the entire purpose of playing those weapons, now it just makes me look like a pver who put stats into the right place and clicked middle mouse button to lock. It almost makes it embarrassing to play what once was a skillful choice.

New world has so much potential... and it really sux that the game has been dying for 2 years now because dev simply ignore pvp content. just like smite or wow devs
You could also do the new PvE raid to get 725 GS gear. Additionally, there might be ways to collect mystic tokens throughout cutlass keys without actually entering the PvP zone, but it’ll be much, much slower of a process.

There are multiple ways on “leaving” the area. You can see on my map it’s the entire right side of that designated area basically. I’m sure some people will try to camp regardless though.
I've been wanting something like that but in a fantasy setting. This is the closest to a darksouls mmo with a pvp island. If only the combat was more polished..
So if this is a PVP area where are the other players never played this game but believe the good loot is in the PvP area is it easy enough to escape with your loot
I snuck in there also. Was nearly eaten by a very aggressive, fast swimming, gator. I swam to deeper waters only to see the huge shark hanging off the cursed ship so I headed to shore to take my chances. Curious about all the lightning and the ominous towers that are repeatedly struck. It didn't appear like the cursed resources were doing any damage, I was taking any ticks, so I wonder if the cleansing is just cinematic (since AGS spent all that time on quest scenes...too much IMO). I am solely a PVE player so I'm not looking forward to the amount of murder coming my way as I am forced (without PVP gear) to enter that space. There is no other option. Raiding just burns me out. I was shotcaller/tank for the Winter Rune and ran that 4x a week for 14 weeks, just burnt out. The drop rate for those coconuts, I'd heard, was super low, like transmog token low. The gorgon's eye, perhaps even lower. Regardless of my play style, the new area is beautifully cursed, NWA excels in that area. The chest that disappeared after you looted it was interesting as well. Is it a first come, respawn type or again just a cinematic. I think the new date is Oct 24 for release. Guess I will start looking on the trade post for some basic PVP gear to die in.
We’ll see how it goes once it’s live! You cannot be in a group within the in-game mechanics, but as we all know, I’m sure if you join a call with some buddies you can make it work. Only time will tell for this one!

Is gear still crazy BOP? Cause that alone fucked this game. They have no real end game loop for gear which was the main issue. Once you had your gear content was stale as fuck and all you could do was repeat OPR and the expeditions. They need a gear recycling loop. That alone would add depth to this “mmo light”
I believe a lot of the new 725 gearscore items for the most part will require a form of crafting, and those crafted items will be primarily BoP, with a few exceptions!
Named gear has always been the grind focus they want for the player. You can craft "BiS" but it's super expensive and time gated. With no infusion system, each time they up the gearscore you are forced to either regrind or grind new equipment. It's the only way the devs know how to lengthen the game. Keep in mind these "updates" are not like your typical WoW expansion where there a lot of new systems, mechanics, and new continents. One new zone or a rework of an existing zone is hardly enough to qualify... Back when watermark was a thing, they made the grind from 600 to 625 be required for all gear slots, making the grind exponentially more vast. It's what happens when you release with little to no content, and what little content you have is not well designed.
For the mobs aggro point that you make in your video. Just saying it's nothing new. When your low level the high lvl mob see you from farther for some reason. You should try it in Shattered Mountain it's the same. Fun fact, when you die your supposed to drop all the curse loot but in the beta it was bugged. You only drop 1 of them and you don't lose it in your inventory. So if they don't fix that we are gonna see some people glitching this for sure.
How long till NW dies again? I'm guessing 4 months. What your guess? Rebranding will only go so far and fool so many. Those of us that have dealt with these devs for the duration of this game know this update will be lackluster, probably full of bugs, endgame will still be extremely lacking. These are some of the most incompetent developers you will ever experience in gaming. They are woke as well...don't believe me, go check out the Marauder's NPC in Elysian Wilds...
If they launch a roadmap with end game content by February I think they’ll be in an okay spot in my opinion. Really hoping the resources they used to get it to console and revamp the MSQ can now be shifted to end game content.
I had a lot of time exploring this area and honestly, I am a big fan. I think it’ll keep me busy for a few months…especially based on how many dubloons are actually needed for some of these items!
Stop acting like this is the only thing you can do in the game and that casuals don't have their content. If this isn't for you simply don't participate. It's an mmo.

It doesn't look too bad so i don't mind if they reuse some stuff if they have to. They need to improve on more substancial stuff 1st like making combat satisfying, and more endgame content.
Naw On Valhalla, that area will be controlled by open world PVP companies. Most notable being musket union. Gold farmers won't waste their time potentially losing what they gather in the PvP zone.

Extraction modes aren't a new thing, but it's a welcomed one in NW. Now we'll just have to wait and see if it will actually work.

There’s OPR (20v20) and Arenas (3v3). If you’re in a company or amazing at PvP, you could also potentially get slotted for a war (50v50).

I loved the watermark system, but not a ton of true people that love the “grind” I guess, and it got quickly changed :(
