Just for clarification, in the PvP zone in Cutlass Keys, you only lose HALF the resources you've gathered if you die. You also lose half the resources if you fast travel out of the area.
So is the rest of the pvp like black desert where someone can just flag up and jump you rather you wanna pvp or not or is it both people need to flag up to pvp?
@@SsionRS I mean sure it'd be cool but very niche unfortunately. I'm an old school Tibia by CipSoft player so I'm right there with you but our genre is out of style these days. I'll pour one out for you reminisce though.
As a console player who missed out on the launch of this game 3 years ago, and being bummed about not being able to play it, I’m highly anticipating the release of this game next month
The launch is always fun! But if you’re planning on playing every day for the next year, don’t hold your breath. Content updates aren’t frequent. Just make sure to manage your expectations.
@@yeltsin3961 doesn't mean you will have to. Players have set themselves up to race to max level and then have a 100,000 things to do in endgame and it's just not realistic. This is a good fifth game in your arsenal and play it when you need to. Maxing out and PvP who cares.. players are really expecting games that developers are not making.
Honestly happy for you. But as a pc player who was loyal to the game until it burned me and everyone else that was invested early on. And now with lock on, this game is not no longer an action combat game. It's a tab target combat system now
It was extremely fun the first few weeks. There was some bugs but overall the experience was worth it. In the long run you’ll find yourself bored near the end. But like any memorable game, the initial discovery is entertaining
I just had a flashback that New World was that MMO where you could write code in global chat to make giant bacon icons appear on everyone's chatbox, or item links that made anyone mousing over it crash their game.
Didn't mention the echoing mining sound that is still to this day the best sound effect in video games! lol I'll jump in to give it a whirl. Native controller means better steam deck experience and the steam deck needs MMOs!
I'm hoping that the higher concurrent player count on servers helps with the longevity as well. launching with less than 2k players per server meant that it didn't take much of a lull in the player base for it to feel like the servers were dying. Now that they're roughly 4.5k+, it should really help the influence races to stay fun for longer.
The QoL for crafting and gathering is amazing up until the end game, that's where you really need to buckle down and invest in all kinds of trophies and such to even be able to craft top end gear. The grind for these is abysmal. The PvE aspect is very similar in that you'll need to have a few hours to sometimes achieve even one goal. I haven't played since May of 2022 or so, but some of the end game content could take up to 45 minutes with a terrible team (Mutation Rank 10 dungeons). Aside from that if you just treat it like a kind of Pilgrim survival sim and go out, gather stuff, start making a life for yourself and steadily focus on all aspects of your character, it'll feel like one of the best games you've ever played. There is also something called the Golden Scarab which can be sold for a lot, and usually right at reset players would gather in the 100's to mob through areas and collect as many chests as possible to get a decent amount of gold, potentially. The community can be both toxic and amazing depending on what you're doing!
Had an absolute blast during this past weekend "beta". It's amazing how those small QoL changes made it feel much better. Excited to come back to a fresh server with our console friends!
Second this! Was fun to play with all muh’console friends. Was also fun to see the 1st night/2nd day when all the console people (ESPECIALLY ps5) started realizing the open voice comms were there :D Can’t wait to play with all my destiny 2 buds when rebranding goes live.
Console player here. This game was honestly everything I've been wanting in an mmo. There's so much to grind outside of just leveling your character like most mmos. Harvesting, mining, skinning and all the crafting ones. It's just so much to do and I love it. I actually WANT to grind everything to max level and build a character that can actually be known for being helpful in game other than "This guy plays a good tank"
@@DiogoMartins028some people enjoy farming slot actually, and I get it it's beautiful in some areas during certain daytime's. Doing quick resource runs fast my 2nd favourite activity after opr

The zone is FFA not to prevent grouping, but to prevent zerging more than anything. Small skirmishes between 5 or so players is exactly what's being sought I believe.
Thank you for the review! You just gained a subscriber. I spent hours watching streamers and videos and asking and looking for someone to explain what this is and you were the only one able to do it.
I think the game will actually end up selling pretty good on console considering that consoles don't really have that many MMOs to choose from. The biggest mmos on console have been BDO, ESO and FF14 for a while so this will be a nice welcoming change to the scene.
@@Blasphemy60 i really tried getting into it. played up to my first awakened class but the game just ran really bad for me all the time. i was on ps4 and have since got a 5 so maybe i should give it another shot on it
I'd need to see an increase in just the basic variety of enemies and quests. When I played at launch I got to about level 30 and then realized besides the main story, there was literally only 2 quests. "go to X location and kill 8 mobs" or "go to x location and loot 6 chests". It seemed like someone had just procedurely generated them all in like an hour with only 2 parameters. And there was also maybe only 12 enemy models in the whole game. You'd go to a all the different cool bioms, but you'd just fight the same red magicy dead sailor or farmer over and over
That list same for any game bro also they did add more quest. They added traveling since before it was horrible. It not same leveling experience as 3 years ago. PvP was big now they focused more on pve
The main reason why I love new world is the combat system and how it requires some skill and strategy rather than just select an enemy and fire. Target locking just ruins the whole game
@@kickupgamer i'm a PC player and i agree with you 100%. alot Steam players love to cry about the game. I just leveled a new character on a crossplay server and it's been really nice
This game was built for console. PC gamers will stay moved on, but I think console gamers have a long-term enjoyable experience ahead of them here. Our MMOs are limited, and like it or not, New World is a great casual MMO experience. I think this will do well. Edit: I think this is the most controversy I've stirred up on TH-cam. Wasn't trying to talk about anything from an elitest stance. Console gamers don't have many MMOs. I think this will be a great option. I appreciate all the warnings, but I can get several hours out of just chopping trees, mining ores, and fishing. I think it's going to be a great time for the more casual audience like myself.
As someone who played this game more than 6000 hours, this new version brings nothing new. If you are a new player, you should enjoy it a lot. If you are an old player, well... you can swim now. I played PVP at high level, wars against the best companies, and that was a blast. But still the same OPR map, the same weapons, and nothing planned... So enjoy this new version but it's like going back with your ex : fun at start but after that you remember why you're not with her anymore :)
@@mikelitten7489 The problem is this rebranding feels sauer for existing player that where hoping for new contend after they had a contend drought. They could have marketed it better then this.
Fair review. If you take mounts out of the Angry Earth update there really is little value in there for what they're charging. With how many people try the game and never make it to end game I think they want to cash in on the fomo of mounts during the leveling process. The re-worked zone Elysian Wilds has very little to do once and almost no reason to go back on a consistent basis. Without the mount paywall, you'd basically just be paying a full expansion price just to be allowed to go to end game gear scores.
The expansion was more for the old players to have it also made the game 60 in total if I remember correctly. Now the game is sold with the expansion as main content under the new title.
I was very positively surprised by the performance of the Beta on my PS5! Outside of overloaded areas, i used the 4K / uncapped mode and it felt like a smooth 60-90 fps which i did not expect! Super excited.
Yeah, let's clarify some things here: 1. AGS does NOT care at all about their PC players anymore. They've spent months promising a roadmap and then big updates for us just around the corner and in the end they left us for months without any update and we only found out in June they would be essentially rebooting the game for consoles. 2. AGS are INCAPABLE of delivering a consistent and enjoyable endgame. They simply ignore their playerbase's requests (e.g. have not delivered additional OPR maps in 3 years despite this being constantly brought up) and what they DO deliver they usually ruin out of stupidity (e.g. for a while playing arenas was popular and productive to lvl PVP and get artifacts so AGS decided to nerf rewards for it across the board). 3. This relaunch focuses on grabbing new players. AGS knows they can't deliver in endgame so their best bet at continuing this project was an attempt at attracting a new audience for the game. Given that, they're not interested in waiting until endgame to make people buy the expansion, they're intentionally baiting people with mounts at lvl 20 to get them to buy quickly. Finally, AGS are simply refining this engine for use in (hopefully) a much better MMO, the LoTR one.
Just to help your dumb mind. 1. "AGS does NOT care at all about their PC players anymore." - They gave you all you asked for which caused the game to lose a lot of players. Your whining ass asked for the easy game. For US the game was too easy and we left because I can do all the content in a few days. I start fresh and I'll have full bis right now in a week. The new expansion because it is an expension, going to have a time gate, so your casual ass is already whining that you can't get full bis day 1 because you don't wanna play or put effort into a game.. 2. See the answer above again.. They did good, you asked for it to be easy. What kind of battle pass/season pass can you finish in a single day? OPR map is not needed because you can't play on the current one still! You should also flag when you leave the town. You have the whole map and barely any ppl walking out there flagged. 3. PC barely has any players for the above mentioned reasons (mainly the whining players that ruined the game.) Over a year ago they said they will launch it on consoles too and in the meanwhile, pc players stabbed them in the back. When they announced the console idea pc had a healthy amount of players. They didn't move to console to keep the game alive, it was a plan since launch. Finally, hopefully, ppl like you won't go anywhere near games that I play. You just keep on whining, asking and blaming for your own stupidity. Imagine the game if you'd have to put effort into it. If you could spend time getting all the things. Instead of this, you asked for free bis items at the end from every possible source. They gave you that. PC only failed because of the players and sadly they listened to you.

Also even just looking through the comments it's wild the response NW veterans get lately. Same attitude as AGS basically telling us all to F off, stop complaining, and let the new kids in. No-one has been gatekeeping or nit picking....it's folks that have spent years with this company managing the game and trying to let people know what they're getting into. If AGS changes their tune and puts a ton of support into NW, everyone will be happy, including vets. But after years of lackluster support, new folks should know that it's much more likely that AGS is just pumping a relaunch to make some money back and will probably put it right back on the backburner soon as the numbers start going down. IDK, it's wild to see people defending a giant company blindly and pushing against folks that endured through the hard times
lol. I'm playing, and I'm telling you, the current playerbase still to this day keep whining about why this and that isn't easier. One of your major concern is the time gated gear crafting/upgrading. 99% of players can't pvp - I mean, they stand no chance and you call out lock on? I'll not use it because it would make me worse, but for 99% of you, it is better. And I don't mind it because I'll not stand or walking in front of you to hit me. I have my proper set, you'll barely touch me and even if you do, it won't do much. So yea, I defend the game and the makers of it. All they got from "veterans" was a knife in their backs and bad words. Nothing more. So the "veterans" killed their own game. And somehow these "veterans" wanna keep playing but they are bothered because by releasing the game on consoles? For real? So, yea. You, do whining "veterans" that managed to kill their own game should f. off and leave the new players alone to decide if they want to play it or not.
@@moo8698 Wow, what a delusional take. First off, I didn't even say anything about target lock lol but you somehow spiraled into some superiority complex rant about how you think you're just a better player than 99% of the rest like holy crap dude your head might explode with the that amount of ego. And then saying vets stabbed AGS in the back and ruined the game? By what, continuing to play and PAYING MONEY in hopes AGS would address the few big remaining issues that kept people from sticking around? From getting frustrated when AGS repeatedly fails to fix bugs? For calling out when AGS says one thing, then does something completely different? I'm hella excited for NW to be on consoles, and I'm super happy to see a ton of new players. Not a single vet I know isn't. And no-one is telling new players to not try the game. So you're just off your rocker getting mad at people without even understanding what they're about. You're not the 1% dude, you're the 99% defending a giant company that doesn't give a crap about you beyond your wallet. You're a fair-weather fan, and I'm sure you'll turn sour as soon as things don't go your way.
My advice to any returning PC players that stopped playing very early on in new worlds lifespan. Wait until you go through the free brimstone Sands quest line update before you make the decision to buy the angry Earth DLC or not.
New World will have a lot for new players. It's a fun game with a ton of potential. It always has been. But it's also had a lot of issues that has caused a lot of frustration within it's fanbase. Fortunately the devs have done a TON of work to fix many of those issues. The New World we had at launch is not the same game we have today. It's so much better and the new players can get a lot of fun out of it. Unfortunately, the PC player base, especially those that have been playing (even off and on) over the last couple years, have a completely different situation. They've been through the rough process of the game discovering itself and becoming what it is today. They've also gone through about a year straight of content drought all while being promised by the devs that this year would be bigger than last year, "a lot is coming, just wait until the big news months down the road." Then the big news drops and the PC players aren't even the target audience. The game is coming to console, that's the big news they've been waiting so long for. Part of one zone is getting reworked - not a new zone, PART of an existing zone. The item level cap increases adding yet another new item upgrade system and they're adding a controversial target lock system. The PC players feel burned, and rightly so. It's great that the game is coming to consoles, but the situation around it is unfortunate. The community has been regrettably toxic due to all the issues the game has had and I think AGS has created a situation to make it even worse; Like the oldest child resents the younger for stealing away the favor of the parents and leaving them feeling neglected... I can see many of the existing player base resenting the new console players coming in. I, too, feel like there's an expiration date on the game for me. I actually quite like the game but between the content drought and the false and grossly misleading promises.. I just feel too burned, like my trust was broken too many times. I no longer feel very motivated to play at the moment. I'm hoping for the best, though, and will come back to see how things feel after the update goes live. It's definitely a game worth playing if you haven't. New players will likely enjoy it a lot.
To be fair the devs actually knew what they want to provide: A full loot PvP sandbox like Albion Online. A MMO that is easy to maintain and scalable with no need to add permanent PvE content with the amount of devs they have. Instead Amazon wanted a PvE game to make it more attractive to many players. The game would have been an insanely well niche game like Albion Online. Even when the game was released almost every system was designed around that idea (e.g. city storage etc.) and it would have delivered a complete different gaming experience. Instead this process you describe happened and it's still a half baked game with short term spikes each year, but I doubt they are actually making much money out of it so they now try to milk at least a new audience. And that current WoW like Open World PvP has nothing to do with real High Risk High Reward PvP from full loot games. They put barely any menpower into New World anymore since Amazon Games OC is supporting the Lord of the Rings MMO developement.
I'm pretty sure console players both enjoyed the beta and will play beyond the month mark on release. As to whether Amazon will support it beyond then is the tricky thing
@@Nahtan.9758 Before they removed tracking the beta peaked at 30k, thats not even comparable to the pc preview held 4 years ago. And this re-release wont even be comparable to the player numbers NW used to peak at. 1m concurrent, 10m daily. Console is not breaking those numbers sorry. Especially when you tell 10m+ pc players to F off we don't care. Not after all this negativity. The game had plenty of players to support it over 3 years, the developers just don't know wtf they're doing. Brimstone sands was the only good update and that was only good because it was supposed to be part of the initial launch. It had way more dev time than any other update this game has ever seen. It didn't meet expectations so it went on the backburner as free DLC. Why do you think we've not seen any major areas released since? it will literally take them years to make new land mass in this game. They can't even be bothered making a new OPR map or a war MAP, and you guys really think theyre going to support this game longer than they did for PC players with far less people playing it? Let us remember, they'll make money on console sales but nothing else. So what incentive do they have to support NW long term post launch? There isn't one. You guys will be in our position in a few months.
Yeah you hit the nail on the head here. I'm a returning player. Just put about 4 hours into the game when it launched this morning, hit level 21, and I'm out. Can't use the mount, can't use some of the weapons I was interested in. It feels like Amazon is forcing me to pay for the privilege of giving them a second chance. Well, they blew it. I'm not dropping more money on this game that was an absolute disaster the first time.
Great video. I'm a returning player that left due to a lot of things you said improved, so I'm EXCITED! I also love that they have the 10 man raid! That's a start to dragging us PVE lovers back! If enough of us come and eat that up, they will see that's what we want, and they'll give us more!
I played the Beta this passed weekend and I think it was great. A few small hiccups, but not worth complaining about. I skipped out on New World 3 years ago. Now I have paid for the Steam game so I can go straight into Aeternum on October 15. Great video! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
New World is my favourite MMO so far. The world, the visuals, the combat, the gathering, even the story. The reason I keep falling out of it, as you've said, is a lack of endgame content. For Aeternum, I just really hope they finally feel satisfied with the new player experience, and can release some free updates to add more endgame content within the coming months. They're giving themselves one last chance to revive their player base, and I think the port to console will certainly help. But once people start hitting max level on the new update, if they aren't releasing, or at least announcing, new content for the endgame, they will once again lose all their players and the game will die. Please, Amazon. Keep us around this time.
Honestly the first 100 hours is great. I have played hundreds of hours and enjoyed it with my friends. Though I would not expect to get the support you would want of an MMO. Though if a few weeks or about 100-200 hours is worth the price for you then totally go for it. I think you will love it just maybe temper your long term expectations because as someone who has been here since launch I have been burned by hoping for new updates especially this past year.
New World is the game that I wanted from launch to be my new "lifestyle MMO", ie a game I keep coming back to all the time like WoW. Sadly it didn't seem so but the skeleton of the game is still so solid -- the combat, the vibes, the music, the large scale PvP, the deep crafting and gathering, it's all fantastic. I just wished it was a better game. Hopefully this will be a significant improvement and they can retain a decent player base! Key will be them fixing the major endgame issues, such as the massive wealth/power consolidation by a few powerful guilds
Please play this game at launch if your reading this it was amazing the first time round and it’ll be even better this time the world is alive and beautiful the PvP is plentiful and engaging. The noise of people felling trees and mining ore echo through the mountains it’s glorious and they really did create something special.
@@mgw5377 you know what’s not engaging ? A mmo that no one cares about and no one plays. A empty vessel that a ship with the crew. The amount of console and pc players just in the beta was insane. Without auto lock console players would be at a huge disadvantage in PvP and we need those console players. and if all we’ve got to do is put up with auto lock and we finally get a polished version of the game we’ve wanted for so long I’ll take the auto aim.
@@Classiccolin You will have casual players for a month and they will jump ship just like at a launch , just like right after the Brimstone update , and right after the Expansion update. Also two separate platforms including pc the numbers weren't really impressive
I'll be playing aeternum as a returning pc player, and bringing friends. I've always enjoyed New World, but when pop dipped it was hard to start arena/opr games. Now that it'll be cross-server matchmaking, cross-platform, it'll no longer be an issue. I think it'll be fun, I hope Amazon comes out with a good roadmap to keep people interested.
Looking forward to seeing how it plays out as it is now getting introduced to console players which will boost the player base. The game has made improvements and it still fun (I’m also going to start a new character on the new servers). FFXIV did an overhaul after with Reborn and is at the top for mmos. Not that NW is in the same sentence, but for players on console that did not get to experience it specially during the huge player base, there’s a possibility that being also on console could do great for the game (I mean 10+ years later there is still a community that plays DC Universe Online that keen the lights on for that studio)
Things you said about mount access regarding paywalls was great to hear. I feel like I havent heard other content creators stress the annoyance of having to buy angry earth for us returning players mostly cor the sake of having a mount during early game. Could not have said it better myself 👏
As a person who have never played it before, getting to play a whole new mmo on console, is an amazing feeling, and OH MY GOD I love it! To just get lost in the beautiful world, wandering around and on a quest to save the world, and have the main objective in mind, to randomly go, "ohhh a flower to pick! Oh a tree to chop! Uhm... what was it I was supposed to be doing?" I just love that 😂
Just FYI, targetlock/aimbot is getting an insane amount of backlash and AGS already acknowledged it. Does that mean they actually listen to the playerbase and get rid of it? who knows. but yeah.. not great..hoping it goes.
As a pc gamer who completely ignored new world up until this point this actually makes me wanna grab it and try it out! Looks fun and like they tweaked and improved a lot of things making it a great first experience! I am intrigued!
@@n77mee Then what's the point of getting the best gear, if not to be better than others? At a certain point, every MMO becomes a job when you reach endgame.
I didn't play OG New World, but I am familiar with the game's history, and I really enjoyed the experience during beta, however knowing what I know, I agree couldn't agree more with the concerns about the game's longevity. If they use what is currently in place as a foundation to continue the games content development and regularly release content updates, I think the game will have a pretty solid player base, but have they learned from their past mistakes is the question. Also, while I did enjoy beta, felt like somethings missing from the experience additional weapons such as, daggers, pistols, dual wielding in general, these things would greatly increase build choices and give players more options, opening up more diverse builds and play styles and give the combat a lot more depth.
As one who put in nearly 500 hours into New World on release, it would take a lot for me to come back. Target locking and cross-play so I can play with my console friends is a really good start though. Also, a different healing weapon than the "Hoooo-diiiii" LARP garbage is good too. I'll think about it...
More than likely, this will bring a huge bump in numbers for the game especially with the fresh start servers, but my hope is that after they've perfected the leveling process, they'll actually focus on the end game content so that when people make it back to end game, there will be more to engage with.
I remember you making a video about you being wrong about MMOs. For me and other console players, this is brand new for us and what I’ve been looking for in an MMO. It doesn’t make me level absurdly fast. I’m in no rush to get to endgame. Like a single player experience, I’m looking forward to doing all the MSQ, side quests, leveling my skills and weapon mastery and anything else they will add. Right now, Aeternum doesn’t seem like the games that fall into the category of that video you made. (And least for players like me.)
Really glad I watched this. I had no clue that you had to also buy Angry earth for Mounts. Not paying a full 60 again for an updated new world. I can't see it hitting as hard as the first time. Was going to give a shot again, but now I'm just hopping Throne and Liberty is good, so I don't have to worry about it.
Those are not thoughts. He MOSTLY doesn't know what he is talking about. He literally watched a few videos on yt and made a video about it. Not about the game. And his 3 years old "I spent 5 hours in the game" experience is nothing. If I would make a video about the game, it would touch a lot more things in a shorter time.
@@moo8698 Literally over half the video is about his experience in the beta for the new update. His character is literally on the screen. I played with him for a little bit while leveling in the beta myself lol If you are gonna be this antagonistic. At least watch the video you want to be mad about.
I absoltely agree with the mount issue. I know so many people that wanted to look again into the game back when the addon came out with a new character and instantly stopped playing when finding out the mounts where behind a paywall.
It's not behind a paywall. It was and it is an expansion of the game. NO OTHER GAME gives you dlcs for free just because you were there at the launch. You go up you wanna buy GoW Ragnarok and you'll have to buy the dlc. You wanna play AC something's dlc, you'll have to buy it, etc. + the game is so damn easy that there are points to teleport everywhere, so the mount isn't really needed. But it is funny how you mention the mount which doesn't matter at all, but not all the rest of the things. lol Just crazy.
Great video. Thoroughly agree about the mounts. I'm fine with DLC adding extra content post base game, but anything that is alongside the base game should be free. ESO has issues, but it adds great base game updates with DLC...sometimes!
It'll be nice to try out this game for the first time on console. There will be a large population of new players so it'll feel fresh without having to be one of the many guine pigs that had to deal with the disastrous launch 3 years ago. Hoping into an MMO at the launch of the first expansion is always the best balance of freshness and quality.
I have nothing bad to say about new world. It’s a great game as long as you have a good group playing it with from zero to endgame. Dungeons and OPRs are fun. Guild PvP is too gated imo in games that are older than 1 year. Endgame will require a lot of grinding to get bis gear for certain builds. Yes there are multiple bis on top of mastering that archetype. $60 is not bad for the content. Never regretted my purchase.
Console has absolutely near zero solid MMOs. We have ESO, BDO and FF14 that are our staples for the genre, Currently BDO is struggling and the playerbase is looking for anything new to go to. So new world and TNL are gonna be fighting for the playerbase. Meanwhile FF14 is just probably owning the market right now with everything it has going for it.
I really liked this game. Loved it, really. Met friends through it. Built a company and helped build a few, and then moved on as things just fell apart in the game. As much fun as the gameplay mechanics can be, there isn't anything to do at max level. Not really anyway. You now have one extra thing you can do (the free for all) and that's really it. Sure, you have max level dungeons (expeditions) but there are no high level raids to speak of (the worm is one thing, and it doesn't give you anything but a fuzzy warm feeling when you beat it, etc etc)... They have three factions and they will not allow casual players to fight for their faction. You are *STILL* stuck either playing the game casually with no real end-game content *OR* you join a company that is specifically for wars, gear up and train (and this includes recording your gameplay so people can review your matches after a war, assuming you even get into one), and play the wardec meta. If you don't like that, this game is fun for about 3 months and then there is nothing left to do unless you are an insane completionist (in which case give yourself another month of content). I'd go back if they fixed some of this stuff. I'd go back if I could fight with my faction (not just my company). I'd go back if there was some pve content worth doing that wasn't just wildly outpaced by winning a single war once. And wars are just... a slog if you don't dance the dance exactly correct. Hope people enjoy the game. But it isn't fixed.
will the players on the new fresh starter servers (be it pc, ps5, or xbox players) be part of the cross-world queue w/ legacy servers? Or will players on legacy servers still have to deal with the small legacy-server player count for cross-world queues?
I just bought the DLC. I don't have any intention on playing the game long term, but I think with the updates since I played at launch and the fresh start, it'll be a nice experience to level up like you say. I always enjoyed the environment and feel of the game so I'm looking forward to that. But that's about it, not looking to put 1000 hours into it.
5k hours here, console would absolute enjoy it and there is so much to do from: PVE - leveling 1-65 - gearscore 100-725 max - 50+ Artifact to collect (diablo-like unique gears) - leveling profession (1-250) - crafting, refining, gathering (a lot of farming...trust me you'll spend a lot of time farming/gathering especially fresh start) - 12 dungeons, mutation dungeon (m1-m3) - 3x Solo Trial 1v boss fight - 3x Arena Trial team boss fight - Territory Corrupted Invasion (Fort defence) 50 man v Horde - 2x 10 man raid (hatchery & winter forge) - 1 raid boss 20 man (wurm boss) - 1 endgame raid (instance dungeon-like raid 3-4 main bosses) PVP - 1 OPR (battleground 20v20) - 2 arena maps (3v3) - 50v50 faction wars/territory wars (12 territory ownable) - Free For All zone @Cutlas Key - Influence Run open world PVP Event - Seasonal Event (raid boss-like event, gathering event etc) think there is like 3-4 different events year long Social/exploration - 15 territory maps to explore (Brimstone map are the biggest i believe, Elysian Wilds vibrant colors like avatarish lol) - A bunch of open world mini boss to kill/farm - New World has the best EMOTES by far! who is with me!? :P - andddddddd proximity voice chat is funny af.. aight, enjoy the game and see you in Aeternum. Not a dev btw
Whoa how did you manage to put 5k hours into this piece of shit game.....I was bored af for the majority of my 400hrs and that was at launch when it's usually the most fun
The free for all zone isn't cutlass keys tho. That's a whole new area added next to it. The current existing CK remains the same, exactly the same. Nothing has changed about it. Just to be clear.
@@22jaydn You should have learned in school.. Something that you personally don't like doesn't mean it's bad. You just don't like it. And something that you like, doesn't mean it is actually good. To like or not to like isn't a synonym for good or bad. Keep that in mind. For me, the most fun part is pvp and with the new zone added to the game, I'll farm players like you, all day long :)
@@22jaydn LMAO! It took you 400 hours to figure out you didnt like it? OR you didnt like it and kept playing? Dude you wasted TONS of hours of your life that you could have played something else. Maybe you need to learn (quickly too) that if you DONT like it, QUIT playing it dude.
My PS5 has been wanting an mmo for a looong time "eso" dropped the ball.. so I am looking forward to Throne & Liberty .. and to see what New World has to offer.
I never expetience New World until the Beta on my PS5, and i had a ton of fun man. An experience like that is a big big deal for us console andies. So amazing to talk to and play with people from your Couch/Bed. 60€ had me a little bit shook tho. But i guess we got a lot of content from since the game launched on PC.
Also, on a side note, I'm really happy they added a recommendation of mine to the game a while back. A while back I recommended and they added extra movement speed when traveling on roads, cuz well, that's kind of the entire point of roads. I recommend this to all games. IDK if it was my recommendation specifically, but it's still nice seeing a QoL improvement you want added.
This game will do very well on the console. AGS will need to bring in new content within 6 months of release and fix auto aim to aim assist and they will be golden.
Almost turned me off when you said I would have to pay again on PC, 100% lost me when you said chest runs are still a thing lol Thanks for a great video
Honestly this is a game I’ve been looking for since the MMO’s of the mid to late 2000’s. I don’t know if anyone remembers Grand Fantasia or Aion, but my friends and I would come home from school and play for hours and play all weekend. This game gave me the same vibe. I’m so exited for the release on console!
I had a blast during the beta, i rarely pre-order games but i HAD to pre-order it. Combat felt great and it had a great sense of community. i’ll definitely get a couple thousand hours out of it and stick around for a long time if they keep it updated
This was the first game since Runescape that put a twinkle in my eye, at 30 years old, I can't believe another game hasn't cornered that addicting crafting / market feel. Mining fishing and woodcutting in this game blew my mind. So painful that it died
I am going to see how this goes I’m happy to play an mmorpg with my console buddies from my clan as well! From playin the beta I love the changes esp for muskets!
New world is the best MMO that no one is playing, including me. The changes they've made since launch made it so much better but no one gave it a second shot. It's my go-to Halloween game, love the world in the fall. So much fun.
Noone gave it a shot lol....what do you call the player number spikes when Brimstones and Angry Earth dropped?? They fell off again because people got fed up of all the crap
@@dez_7425was a minority percentage. And also, it only fell off because everyone finished all the content and they didn’t add any new content until the major yearly patch.
The beta reminded me what I loved. I only stopped playing cause I had other games and just felt like I couldn’t catch up with all the new mechanics. Excited to see what AGS does moving forward
This right here. I've put in almost 1000 hours since the original launch (over 1200 counting the betas) and I really enjoy New World. Sure, I take breaks and don't play it as my one "main game"... but I always have fun when I return and it is most certainly in my rotation. I think this is why Amazon is marketing it more to single/co-op players now for the console release even though it's still the same MMORPG it has always been (with even larger player capacity on servers these days). They know their target demographic is a bit more casual, not quite so try-hard meta where the quick burn out at end game is the most real.
"end game" lol.. must be new. Running in circles opening chests isn't end game. They finally added a raid and it had a single boss, killed in 3 mins and in less than 30 days the drops were made obsolete by an update. The entire problem for years has been that there isn't end game content.
@@yomanimcool123456789 It's not a good game pass level 30. Unfortunately. On second thought, I'm just jaded by how dogshit AGS is, the game is fine for some hours. But you'll see the cracks as we did.
I'm sort of curious about this update. New World was a cozy world just to be in. I engaged mostly in the crafting and playing solo and never reached max level, but the time I did spend in-game was enjoyable.
Crazy how everyone hating on this game has like 1000 hours. New rule: if you have 1000 hours you are no longer allowed to complain. STFU. You got your moneys worth. Move along.
I bought New World a few years back on a solid sale but I was playing another game at the time so it went in the backlog\forgot about it. lol.. Super excited for this update so I can play the game finally!
When they announced the DLC I was quite excited, but hearing the mounts were locked behind it, well, they can keep their mounts because I wont play their game
Open beta/PTR, it's not the first time a game has a testing phase for bigger patches! Given the single player content I might give this a shot again. But there are a few other games I am playing so it will depend on whether I am still playing those.
When I heard from another TH-camr that they would do a re-launch I was pumped. Then I checked the open beta patch notes, which is basically, some updates to some systems, improved animations here and there, new leveling experience and the game is coming to consoles. Branding a re-launch is a hoax, don't get me wrong console players can finally play it but for PC players there is 0 incentive to play, such a big let-down.
but the new leveling experience was overhauled once before. And it was fine. I didn't notice a massive difference between this and the last overhaul they did.
It wasn't so much a re-launch as a console launch that PC players could join, instead of being locked out of it. It was a beta for console players (to test cross-play).
Im hoping this will be good. Have 600 hours in New world since launch. Havent played since 2022. It has so much potential. I love the world. So fun to just run around and do mining and stuff, with the occasional pvp out in the world.
@@zaoshikung2756the rest of the PvP outside the zone is you both have to flag.
So lame. Needs to be full loot and full gear

Sausages!
Wait this was really a thing?
Not gonna lie, that's the kind of stuff that I miss from old MMOs, it felt cheap, personal, cozy.
Probably just rose tinted glasses.
Everything is better with bacon! 🥓
Shoutout to the lads from Bifrost and all the Greggs memes. Good times.
Didn't mention the echoing mining sound that is still to this day the best sound effect in video games! lol I'll jump in to give it a whirl. Native controller means better steam deck experience and the steam deck needs MMOs!
God I miss that sound
that and the wood cutting
The ambiance and "far" SFX in this game are what define the New World experience for me. Love to just listen to what's going on around me.
The sound design and combat are two aspects of the game that I’d want to see in any MMO going forward. It felt and sounded SO great.
I wanted to play it on the steam deck but it won't load. I'm stuck on the loading scren. 😔
Even then it’s not a lot
😅 some people view 3k people online to be “ bumping “

Had more than that lol 😂 but okay
I play d2r online, if there's 10+ public games with 1-2 people each that's "bumping"
As 30 year old ps5 player it seems like this game will be a solid casual mmo for us peeps putting a few hours in the evening after work.

I think the game will actually end up selling pretty good on console considering that consoles don't really have that many MMOs to choose from. The biggest mmos on console have been BDO, ESO and FF14 for a while so this will be a nice welcoming change to the scene.
BDO ESO and FF14 are far superior

I'd need to see an increase in just the basic variety of enemies and quests. When I played at launch I got to about level 30 and then realized besides the main story, there was literally only 2 quests. "go to X location and kill 8 mobs" or "go to x location and loot 6 chests". It seemed like someone had just procedurely generated them all in like an hour with only 2 parameters. And there was also maybe only 12 enemy models in the whole game. You'd go to a all the different cool bioms, but you'd just fight the same red magicy dead sailor or farmer over and over
The random quests are like that yeah. The main story line is also like that, too…
they adressed that . they completly overhauled the main story quest and added new enemy types

Now the game is sold with the expansion as main content under the new title.
nah the game sucks stop defending it
I was very positively surprised by the performance of the Beta on my PS5!
Outside of overloaded areas, i used the 4K / uncapped mode and it felt like a smooth 60-90 fps which i did not expect!
Super excited.
Yeah, let's clarify some things here:
PC only failed because of the players and sadly they listened to you.
i have zero hope that the LoTR MMO will be any good, its the same team responsible for it that killed NW slowly for the last 2 years...

My advice to any returning PC players that stopped playing very early on in new worlds lifespan.
Wait until you go through the free brimstone Sands quest line update before you make the decision to buy the angry Earth DLC or not.
At what level is this quest?
@Bado6x not completely sure since the Elysian Wilds DLC, but it's usually level 55 or 60 I'm pretty sure.
the mount trade off is pretty huge tbh
What a bittersweet game. So much potential yet disrespected players over the years.
As to whether Amazon will support it beyond then is the tricky thing
hopfully they do, I think there will be enough console players to support it
I think there’s no word on the LoTR MMO - this might have a solid run until that gets launched
@@chasenhorizons I think thats still a good few years out but I would otherwise agree.
We got swimming after 3 years no way
Yeah you hit the nail on the head here.
I'm gonna give it a try this looks cool
the first 100 hours are amazing. it's still good after that too.
I’m so excited to play it
Honestly the first 100 hours is great.
@@truton1060 oh I rarely play any game more than 150 hours so that’s perfect ;)
Here to update after a month still going strong somehow. Hasn't fallen off yet like previous updates.
Yeah nothing more engaging than auto lock pvp
Am not gonna play to here mining sounds lol , there is nothing to do after max level , only dungeons
@@Classiccolin> no one plays
You have seen new worlds population, right? After launch and after the expansion?
I'll be playing aeternum as a returning pc player, and bringing friends. I've always enjoyed New World, but when pop dipped it was hard to start arena/opr games. Now that it'll be cross-server matchmaking, cross-platform, it'll no longer be an issue. I think it'll be fun, I hope Amazon comes out with a good roadmap to keep people interested.
that extraction zone sounds fun and a cool idea
Glad to see your still going strong keep it up :)
I am going to put 1000 hours into this on console. I've played on PC but I'm more of a console gamer so I'm very excited. The combat is just great
As a person who have never played it before, getting to play a whole new mmo on console, is an amazing feeling, and OH MY GOD I love it!
To just get lost in the beautiful world, wandering around and on a quest to save the world, and have the main objective in mind, to randomly go, "ohhh a flower to pick! Oh a tree to chop! Uhm... what was it I was supposed to be doing?"
I just love that 😂
also, you can do everything singleplayer, any dungeon at anytime, thats good
I doubt that dungeons are single player now.
No you can't. You can do solo trials thats about it
@@mgw5377 oh...what a shit
Just FYI, targetlock/aimbot is getting an insane amount of backlash and AGS already acknowledged it. Does that mean they actually listen to the playerbase and get rid of it? who knows. but yeah.. not great..hoping it goes.
As a pc gamer who completely ignored new world up until this point this actually makes me wanna grab it and try it out! Looks fun and like they tweaked and improved a lot of things making it a great first experience! I am intrigued!
I think the most important question would be how many people will agree to do pvp in order to have access to the biggest gear... certainly not me.
What's the point in playing an MMO at this point? Should better stick to Minecraft then
Yeah, the "beta" kind of renewed my interest in New World until I found out this information. It's a hard pass for me.
Why dont you guys like pvp? Curious
@@Emzy-87 Because when i come from work the last think i want is a second job... i play to relax not get a second job.
As a eso veteran.. if eso can hold people's attention on console then this game definitely can lol trust me
ESO pvp is or at least was way better than NW PVP ever was
this is a good point, but ESO's housing is extremely robust - hopefully New World devs know this / see this
As one who put in nearly 500 hours into New World on release, it would take a lot for me to come back. Target locking and cross-play so I can play with my console friends is a really good start though. Also, a different healing weapon than the "Hoooo-diiiii" LARP garbage is good too. I'll think about it...
This game looked and felt awesome, totally going to jump in when it drops
As a console player only, im so happy to finally have this mmo available to me. Im hooked!
I enjoyed the beta so much more than the OG game. I played on my PS5 this time and the dualsense controls/haptics were done very well
More than likely, this will bring a huge bump in numbers for the game especially with the fresh start servers, but my hope is that after they've perfected the leveling process, they'll actually focus on the end game content so that when people make it back to end game, there will be more to engage with.
You can easily do 1,000 hours. I did 2,000 before I got bored. Go for it. I do not regret my time in Aeternum, though it's doubtful I'll return.
Yeah 😂😂 and there’s people who still play final fantasy 14
Really glad I watched this. I had no clue that you had to also buy Angry earth for Mounts. Not paying a full 60 again for an updated new world. I can't see it hitting as hard as the first time. Was going to give a shot again, but now I'm just hopping Throne and Liberty is good, so I don't have to worry about it.
The comments genuinely upset someone is sharing their thoughts are so confusing
Salty 4000 hour players 😅
Those are not thoughts. He MOSTLY doesn't know what he is talking about. He literally watched a few videos on yt and made a video about it. Not about the game. And his 3 years old "I spent 5 hours in the game" experience is nothing. If I would make a video about the game, it would touch a lot more things in a shorter time.
@@moo8698 Literally over half the video is about his experience in the beta for the new update. His character is literally on the screen. I played with him for a little bit while leveling in the beta myself lol
If you are gonna be this antagonistic. At least watch the video you want to be mad about.
I had a great time playing the game on Xbox. Never played it on PC , will pick it up in Oct.
Hoping into an MMO at the launch of the first expansion is always the best balance of freshness and quality.
so you're telling me, that outpost is still the ONLY battleground available in new world after all this time?!
Sofar the best and most real video about New World Aeternum about both the good and the bad.
Console has absolutely near zero solid MMOs. We have ESO, BDO and FF14 that are our staples for the genre, Currently BDO is struggling and the playerbase is looking for anything new to go to. So new world and TNL are gonna be fighting for the playerbase. Meanwhile FF14 is just probably owning the market right now with everything it has going for it.
yeah plus ff14 has subscription so the buy once to play is really nice
@@Nahtan.9758 Oh... I didn't know FF14 was subscription based and I was thinking on trying out other MMOs.
I'll never play this game but I'll drop a comment and a like to support you Force.
Weird flex
Cause you’re a loser
will the players on the new fresh starter servers (be it pc, ps5, or xbox players) be part of the cross-world queue w/ legacy servers? Or will players on legacy servers still have to deal with the small legacy-server player count for cross-world queues?
Enjoyed it at launch on pc. Feels like a bait and switch at this point.
I just bought the DLC. I don't have any intention on playing the game long term, but I think with the updates since I played at launch and the fresh start, it'll be a nice experience to level up like you say. Same for every mmo. We ain’t looking for a spouse we’re looking for a good game, that’s exactly what this is
This right here.

The incentive here is that now if you want to play Aeternum on PC, you have to purchase the angry earth or whatever expansion.
It wasn't so much a re-launch as a console launch that PC players could join, instead of being locked out of it. It was a beta for console players (to test cross-play).
They added so much in the last two updates. Game is wildly different than 2021 😅
Im hoping this will be good. Have 600 hours in New world since launch. Havent played since 2022. It has so much potential. I love the world. So fun to just run around and do mining and stuff, with the occasional pvp out in the world.
