Best rock singer, song writer, frontman of all time. Miss you Freddie. Absolutely astounding voice and performer. The whole band were professional musical artists who were geniuses. It was incredible to hear them live. So sorry for youngsters who missed out.

In my opinion, Queen will remain “THE” top band EVER for hundreds of reasons! Can’t even begin to list them here! I do believe had Roger and Brian not let Freddie into the band that Queen would not exist and we wouldn’t have these Legends today. It was pure destiny and 4 genius’s that gave us the pleasure of listening to their music for generations to come!

Just pointing out the amazing talent of Roger Taylor - being able to do backing vocals and play drums is no easy feat and he is flawless. Great falsetto voice, magnificent drummer and great songwriter.

Absolutely, I was just about to post the same comment. I can't remember who it was but a music reviewer once commented that with his voice, his charisma and his looks Roger Taylor would be the lead singer / front man in any other group. Unfortunately, Roger happened to be in the same group as Freddie Mercury........

This band was on the road hundreds of days per year, singing the same songs over and over. Each performance was given like this was the ONLY performance. They gave all they had each city, each concert, each time to make the audience feel like they only cared about them. This song is a great example of their natural talents. Thank you so much for loving it like you do!

I've never lost my love for them and their music growing up, I was so happy while getting his portrait tattooed on me because of how huge a part they've played in my life. Tamarama Wait, that’s crazy!! Why would they want someone to NOT do their best? I mean, the better the performance the more money they’d make for the record company, right? The real reason, IMHO, is that the music acts today often don’t write their own songs. Back in the day, that’s what made them supergroups. They wrote their lyrics and music. Now there’s a small group of songwriters that care about sticking to their formulas rather than write awesome songs. There are exceptions of course but the pop stars that pop up out of the blue with their auto tuned songs all kind of sound the same. To me, not everyone would agree.

Here is the link for highest quality live aid clips, th-cam.com/channels/UAVzSGkkTa-IoMx_x1XK4Q.htmlfeatured?disable_polymer=1
The organisers of live aid thought Queen were "past their best" and sandwiched them between two of the biggest bands at the time, U2 and The Who. U2 came out with an amazing set with grandmaster level crowd control. And then Freddie came out and showed everyone who true royalty was, 22 minutes of glory and a crowd Worshipping Freddies sweaty glistening mustache.
For a true education on great music from this era, follow the link above and watch every song from 7:19pm onwards (organised by time on live aid channel.)
Honestly I would love to see a three hour reaction vid from you but if not theres gotta be at least an hour and a half worth of clips on this link.

Its not fake its a very common practice for released live performances. Google it if you don't believe me. They clean up the audio and overdub certain parts they think could be improved. You can easily pick out the overdubs in this, Best way to notice is when the audio doesn't quite sync up. Rogers vocals are all overdubbed as well as Brian's. Freddy's big "ooooooh" during the climax is overdubbed. Guitar solo's are often overdubbed too. Its not a bad thing, It happens on every live performance that's released.

    • @Vikotnick
      @Vikotnick 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Ok, let me clarify, 7.04 hz is NOT possible for a human unless they do a vibrato. If you are talking 7 vibratos per second, fine. But in music 7 hz would be extremely hard to hear. It would be more a feeling. Its a speaker vibrating 7 times a second. The usual range of hearing of a normal person is 20-40 hz to about 16-18 kHz. I dont want to be pedantic, but just clarifying. If you want to try your range of hearing, there are plenty of youtube videos that will test your range (Depending on your speakers, of course).

      I third this statement.

Funny when you talked about filling up Madison Square Garden! These guys had crowds of 300,000 at times on their tours in South America.
I saw Queen at the Boston Garden in 1980, and paid $10.50 for the privilege! That was pretty much the standard cost for a concert ticket back in those days. I paid $12.65 to see The Who and The Clash on the same bill at Shea Stadium in 1982. I might be old, but I got to see all the COOL bands live......for less than $20.00 per gig!

Did you know that Queen, today, with Adam Lambert will be at MSG this coming summer ?
The "cheaper " floor seats are $1000.00! I recently, had floor seats to "see" the"Eagles" who were not visible because of the people in front of me standing up with phones over their heads! The sound was great, but hardly got a glimpse of the band! Now, if Freddie were still with us, I'd work overtime to get front row seats , ,( nothing against Adam Lambert- he is great)but, without Freddie, it's not worth it!
May Queen keep rocking ,along with the spirit of the magnificent Freddie Mercury!

You know what I really like about you? You know your stuff! I'm a musician playing studio and live for over 35 years now and I appreciate that you're articulate and really know what you're talking about! I'm glad you found Queen because along with yes, genesis, led zep..they were one of the best bands around back in the days. No one today really knows how to play like these guys. One of my favorite bands . Not a bad song anywhere. Queen had extraordinary vocals everyone could sing. They could do everything from hard rock to ballads and wrote hit after hit. I envy you just getting into them..You'll love it. Keep on Rockin. Nice job. You really get it. It's a shame but Freddie was starting to get sick around this time but never let on. He started to tire quickly..but you'd be hard pressed to know it. What a damn shame. Died young.

update - saw over to the right you did the original video - good, I'll watch that next. Don't get too hung up on the clothes, there's a video where he's barefoot, short shorts and a bandana around his neck shirtless. I think it's the closest he could be to being naked! LOL Bands in the 70/80 were used to stadium concerts as the norm. Wembly was always around 72,000m Rio was 100-150,000 and their last concert in the UK was to 200,000 people. Musicians like Freddie compared to even the hottest acts of today - no comparison because nowadays they use synthesizers and other tricks. Not that Freddie's era didn't begin to play with that - but certainly the vocal strength was more intense for the mic quality difference 40 years ago.
